Bethenny mentioned the VanKempens house, to me the big difference is Jules Hamptons house is a second home.

This is a very good point. It seemed like they were trying to tailor their "vacation spot" to their exact specifications. Maybe they never intend to sell. Perhaps they will pass it down to the kids. We also know nothing about their finances. Is it possible they're also taking awhile because they're working on it as they can afford it, and not accruing a heap of debt? I generally like Bethenny, but she does come off as a know-it-all. And she and Jules are not tight, so she really has no place offering a dumptruck's worth of unsolicited advice like that.

Doesn't Bravo get a set percentage of any business a Housewife spins off of the show?  I always figured that was why he had the women on to perform their songs on WWHL.

IIRC, that's correct - Bravo does get a percentage. But I think that was put into effect after Bethenny's success with Skinny Girl.  I think I read that once, but anyone feel free to correct me.

Who says one can't be sexually indiscriminate, bang married men, and simultaneously issues pronouncements on manners and etiquette? In any case, Carole is presently indulging in just as many inconsistencies and contradictions as Lu from my perspective. If she articulated her continuing anger as a product of the Countess's initial aggressive salvos, that would be honest and understandable. Instead, she's insisting that this fantasy in which she never responded to LuAnn with matching vitriol is true. If retweeting hateful commentary on one's cast mate is just an expression of appreciation to one's fans, then doesn't that mean Aviva putting gossip about What Remains on shout merely constituted an acclamation/celebration of "the streets"? Carole giggled about LuAnn's willingness to "go with anyone," which directly frames her sexual voracity as the problem - not her nominal hypocrisy although that was the original charge. She's lamented the "misogyny" of Jules and LuAnn because of their commentary on her age but was happy to charge in with a critique of Jule's physique and also to attack John's physical characteristics rather than his behavior. Then there's her shot at Lu's use of her title - one to which she's, uh, entitled until remarriage - while Carole uses hers as both a tagline and dinner party fodder more than two decades and many romances after Anthony . . . Is Carole also going to take a dig at Lee, who is still called "Princess" by her apartment staff almost half a century after she split from Anthony's dad? All of which is to say that Carole has adopted a perplexing tack of confusing what should be a pretty straightforward grievance. And has anyone located this "pedophile" statement?

Listening to Bethenny say everyone is invited to come to her place in the Hamptons every day and open to everyone was getting me so excited, then I realized I wasn't going. I'm really missing having fun and laughs with Bethenny. I'm always interested in her shindigs, as I am someone who enjoys event planning and because she's a mentor to me. My daughter is off to boarding school and this was the first weekend open for parents, so I needed to be there. Lu invited me to stay with her, but I couldn't. I had regretted not seeing Bethenny over the summer when she invited me to stay with her and her daughter, but my daughter wanted every last minute with me at our home where she grew up before moving out.  http://www.bravotv.com/the-real-housewives-of-new-york-city/season-8/blogs/sonja-morgan/sonja-morgan-you-could-cut-the

The above is from Sonja's blog, so no, nothing to do with Bethenny.

I agree with an earlier post about John wanting the publicity but these shows have been on long enough for people to know that they're taking their chances with their own reputations by signing up so I don't really feel sorry for him. And what business person concerned about their reputations would provide so many opportunities for the cameras to film them while they're wasted?

Honestly, I'm scratching my head trying to figure what exactly John is getting outta this show.  What was his motivation for being on the show?  Because of Dorinda -- to give her more camera time?  Uh, no.  I think John is a ham sandwich & he loves the cam.  As far as publicity . . . uh, what publicity?  I've never heard him say the name of his business once this season.  Well, I've never heard him say it ever on the show.

Anyway, John should be able to get the name of his business out -- given the torture he has to endure from horrible Bethenny.  Man, he's earned it.  Besides, whatever evil Bethenny has in store to "reveal" about John, WTF would it have anything to with his ability as a dry cleaner?  I mean, seriously, why in the fuckety fuck would I care if he bangs every broad that ever walks into Beautique, if he gets my stained-up pants clean every time I send 'em to him?

Idk, my theory on John is -- Bethenny & Satan Andy & the other anonymous producers are baiting him (and setting him up) but good.  They must have figured he was ripe for Bethenny to rip apart & pick on -- and all for our entertainment.  How lovely of Bethenny & Satan Andy & those anonymous other producers to think of us viewers as motivation for Bethenny to torture someone mercilessly -- simply because they assume we would enjoy watching it.

Now, was John a fool & a sap for agreeing to be on the show?  You betcha.  I don't feel sorry for him one bit.  I just think watching him being crucified by Bethenny is ugly & unpleasant as hell to watch.  But that's Bethenny's shtick this season.  Ew.  I really wanna see how Lu deals with Bethenny's horrible, hateful & despicable torture tactics.  Lu's a tough customer.  I don't see her parking herself up Bethenny's asshole as Carole & Moaner are.

Btw, I am not impressed by Bethenny's place  -- because it's really not so impressive.  I noticed the camera shots were mostly tight (very, very tight).  I think that was purposely done to hide the fact that it's smallish.  Jules gave away what Bethenny is trying oh-so-hard to hide from us.  She revealed to us in her TH that it's only a few thou (plus a bit more) square feet.  Thanks, Jules, that was the best thing you said so far this season.  But you may regret it, hun.  Because now vicious Bethenny will continue to torture you & talk shit about you & your husband in her TH's.  Ah, Bethenny, you ain't exactly difficult to figure out now.  No, you have become painfully (extremely, extremely painfully) predictable.

So much of this franchise and RHONY in particular is about the cougar stereotype, which I agree is misogynistic and ageist. But to go on a show like this and date someone so much younger expecting everyone will just go along with it is unrealistic. Adam is the same age or younger than the cast of Vanderpump Rules. He is younger than Kristen Doute and Tom Sandoval, to put things in perspective. It's not that far off age-wise from the idea of LVP dating one of her charges (LVP is 55 and Carole is 51 or 52 IIRC). Of course it's going to draw attention. Yeah it sucks that insensitive people (me) called him an embryo, but it goes with the territory and her offense that she doesn't admit to taking and her grudge she doesn't admit to holding are not really deserved IMO.

When Bethenny tell us to hang in there, and wait and see; I interpret this that she feels she'll be vindicated.

Remember on Scary Island when Kelly was over the edge and Bethenny celebrated? "See! See? I've been telling you!" (paraphrasing)... To me that reflected poorly more on Bethenny than Kelly. I am expecting a Scary Island II moment where John loses his shit after the constant baiting mentioned up thread, and once again Bethenny will get her Scary Island I "See! See? I told you!" moment. Same same. Yawn. She will never, ever change without some serious help instead of hiding behind her belligerent hee hawing about how she speaks the truth.

You know, I'm glad you brought up Kells.  If she was a nicer person there might have been some sympathy for her.  But she was consistently a self-absorbed, totally deluded, nasty, mean, snobbish woman --- to Bethenny, Alex & pretty much everyone near her.  So nobody cared how Bethenny cruelly ripped her to shreds & destroyed her. Most of us were entertained seeing Bethenny destroy her.

And now Bethenny is pulling the same routine on John -- to entertain us.  She figures (and maybe rightly) there will be no sympathy for him from anyone -- because he's the slimy fat guy from Queens, so he'll be universally hated.  And yeah, for some, it is his character that's a turnoff.  But I still think most are just turned off that he ain't young & model gorgeous, and would never admit it -- er, kinda like Bethenny.

Well, this is Bethenny's universe.  She owns the show now because Satan Andy has handed it to her on a silver platter.  No, John the sap doesn't stand a chance.  He's gonna be skewered & roasted & toasted before our eyes by Bethenny.

Idk, watching Bethenny (to me) is kinda like witnessing a serial killer getting ready to slaughter her next victim.  Yup, she is Dexter.  As far as those who so defensively say they still like Bethenny?  That is their absolute right.  Some like serial killers too, right?

I listened to Bethenny's first show on Radio Andy yesterday.  I didn't realize that Andy had given her a radio show.  I caught it by accident in the car. She said something oh so witty and charming and laughed at it so hard.  Her guest laughed politely, then Bethenny continued to laugh and her guest waited and waited to speak and finally I yelled STFU Bethenny to my radio.

Did anyone catch the recent article in "In Touch" about Jules? It's like 4 pages that talked about how Jules husband made his money through investing in the porn industry, pornhub or something. I'm sure he invests in tons of stuff that he doesn't care personally about, but apparently this is like a major deal to some people. He made a fortune off online porn.

I think one's view of porn hinges on whether they believe it's victimless.

And Sonja. Yeesh. Last year was Sonja's best year in quite awhile, but Bethenny basically branded Sonja a sad delusional alcoholic and it seems production is still following that direction. Was it necessary to show her "some people keep their shoes in the oven" quote? No. It was all part of depicting Sonja's slide into lunacy.

I thought it was a Sex and the City reference, but was confused that Luann didn't get it.  Didn't Carrie keep clothing in her stove?

I'm not defending Bethenny, but didn't everyone brand Sonja an alcoholic last season?  Neither Luann, serving snatch guard, nor Dorinda, stuck herding the delusional "I party with John John", attempted to hide how out of it Sonja was.  I wouldn't mock Sonja for having a drinking problem, but she sure seemed to have an issue last season, IMO.

I missed Sonja in this ep.  Why was Sonja MIA?  Was it Bethenny's mean-girl shit of excluding select people she doesn't wanna interact with?  I'm confused.  Did their feud start at the beginning of the season or before?  I didn't think Sonja had done anything with her Tipsy Girl line at the beginning of the season.

Well, if those 2 are feuding, it's a sure bet Sonja is gonna get a miserable edit this season -- since evil Bethenny (cue sinister/skeery music) is in control.  And Satan Andy is clearly siding with Bethenny, if he's continuing to do that unfunny/lame/nasty Grey Gardens shit (on WWHL), the sole purpose of which is to imply Sonja is a deluded nutcase.

I'm not buying the Grey Gardens stuff anymore. so stop selling that shit to us, Satan Andy.  She got herself out of bankruptcy.  If you look closely at the Sonja scenes, her place looks perfectly OK.  And I can confirm (because I passed by it last nite) her place looks nice from the outside.  The Grey Gardens stuff just ain't true.  It's an effort by Bethenny & Satan Andy to discredit Sonja & make her look as shitty & awful as possible.  Hmmm, have we seen this MO before from Bethenny?  Hello, John & Jules, and next week, Lu -- & then next up, Sonja.  God, this is so ugly.  The show might as well now be called, "Who Will Bethenny Torture Next?"  Yeah, count me in with those say they just love, love, love Bethenny & her nastiness -- um, when hell freezes over.

What really bothers me is how Moaner has so coldly & casually dumped Sonja.  We know why.  Because Sonja's feuding with the HBIC.  Wow, nice show of loyalty, Moaner, you freakin' pig.  Oink, oink, Moaner, oink, oink.

I may be mistaking you for someone else, but I thought you used to make frequent references to walking past Sonja's home, and commenting in ways that indicated the Grey Gardens stuff was apt.  Things like we're having a heat wave, yet all of Sonja's windows are open as if she can't afford air conditioning.  I don't enjoy Andy or the show mocking Sonja, but I do get why viewers of the show do it.  Sonja is seriously deluded.

If I were a betting woman, here is what I would predict.  I think Bethenny has some dirt on John for either cheating on Dorinda or merely just flirting innocently with other women.  My bet is on the later (I think John truly loves Dorinda) and that it will be blown up into something worse than it actually is. This will give Bethenny the chance to act as the "avenging angel" on Dorinda's behalf -- we can always count on Beth to stick up for other women who have been wronged.  My other prediction is that it will come out that Jules' husband made his money in the porn business (personally I don't care) and that he and Jules are "social climbers" who like to show off their money -- and that will give Bethenny a chance to call them out and once again be the avenging angel for the audience, snuffing out the phonies.  The minor squabbles on the side will continue -- Lu and Carole will continue to snipe at each other and Sonja will get trashed by Bethenny for TipsyGirl and Ramona and Sonja will eventually reconcile but not after a few spats.  Dorinda will probably break up with John around the time of one of the reunions, cementing her heroine status with the audience.

I don't mean to sound cynical because I love this show (lowering my head in shame) but do believe that things will resolve in Bethenny's favor.

Wasn't that already flirted with last season?  When the ladies encountered John, and Sonja asked what he was doing there without Dor-Rind-Da.  I was left with the impression that he was up to no good, and Dorinda didn't appreciate it.  I don't recall more details at the moment.

What I'd really like to see is for Bethenny to turn on Carole.  Find her ghostwriter & out him/her!  Eh, Carole is way, way, way too happy being Bethenny's bitch/follower.  Almost makes me want Veevs back to torture her again.  Almost, but not quite

Oh, don't worry about it.  She will, true to form, turn on Carole for some perceived slight and spoil that friendship, just as she has ruined every other relationship she has ever had.  It's simply a matter of time.

No, Bethenny was definitely not the first to point out Sonja's issues. She has been a sloppy drunk for several seasons now, but last year was definitely her worst. I think Bethenny is just less likely to dance around issues than the others. She thinks she's a paragon of "honesty", but if often comes across as very rude and unnecessary. That being said, I probably would have snapped at Sonja as well. She was off her rocker. I do believe B was genuinely trying to help her, but Sonja is like a brick wall. Criticize Bethenny at your own peril.  She will slaughter you in her TH's or order the edit monkeys to make you look as shitty as possible.  Nice, sweet gal, that Bethenny, right?

Look, most of us know Bethenny is a bitter hateful asshole.  But in spite of her horrible personality, many of us have liked her in the past (or at the very least, enjoyed watching her to some degree)  Yeah, even me.  I wish she could get back the characteristics that I did like about her (calling out people on their bullshit & making funny/sharp observations).  I'm not sure that's possible now.

Everyone involved with show is probably too skeered shitless of her to tell her to ease up on the non-stop hate-rants & to chill the fuck out & inject more humor.  As it is now, Bethenny & the show makes me tense & anxious to watch.  Hate it.

Because there are other women on this show who actually are enjoyable to watch.  NJ doesn't have that luxury. Or Lushury as Sonja often ends up saying.

I have to say I am at the point where I really can't stand Bethenny. I loved her early days, even tolerated her much of her spin off. Began to see that she was majorly fucked up. But last season? No thank you. This season is way worse. BUT there was a point toward the end of the season, maybe after Heather called her out in St. Barths or wherever they were, where Bethenny backed off a little and got a little lighter, we didn't get soooo many B talking heads or Dr. Imabore and the show became a little more balanced. Heather even told her "You don't have to be a Bitch, you choose to be one" and laughed in her face in a Good way on the finale. But with Heather's departure, that all left too.

There's nothing cool or hip about being mean to people. Maybe it gets you a bitchy friend like Andy who has always liked to pit his best friends against each other. But that's not a real friend or a good person. That's an asshole. A serial dater who will be buying dates when he loses his job and his wonky-eyed looks.

This!!! This whole new philosophy where meanness has been camoflauged with "just being real" has driven me up the wall for YEARS! If there is no benefit, place or contributes to the good or solution of a situation AND it carries a hurtful tone then WHY?!!? For the love of all that is good and holy WHY speak it? There are certain tendencies that are reflexes. Even being hurtful, it's true. Taking pleasure in someone else's ill will alcreeps up even on the most pure of souls. It's being able to manage those random tendencies and being mindful of how often one decides to let it surface that makes all the difference in someone being the average person who gives in to those weaker moments and being a straight up despicable asshole. Bethenny and Carole fall into the category of being mean assholes. Bethenny because she self indulges even if it's at the expense of others. I.E. "I need to speak my truth even if it hurts you, well because it's all about what I NEED even if the truth doesn't truly benefit either of us or the situation. I serves my purposes and that's that". And Carole because she self indulges by giving herself excuses to her own nasty asshole behavior. I.E. "You did something that upset me so now I have the excuse to be the nasty spiteful bitchy asshole that is constantly bubbling under the surface, the one that I only unleash when I can find a reason to justify it and therefore not tarnish this cool, nice lighthearted person I'm trying to present myself to be" But then runs with it the length of a marathon. Completely beyond the scope of reason. Both raging assholes.
