PATIENT 6 LEAVES SAM AND LIZ REELING

Next week on GH, Sam and Liz both contend with the shocking presence of Patient 6. According to Co-Head Writer Shelly Altman, “Sam is pretty incredulous. She has built a life with the man she has believed is Jason.” While she struggles to reassure Jason that she believes he is who he says he is, Liz pays Patient 6 a visit at the PCPD. Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth) reports, “She goes in there with a lot of doubt.” For the full scoop, check out the new issue of Soap Opera Digest, on sale today.

Liz: WHY DIDN'T YOU EVER GIVE US A CHANCE!? WHY!?

P6: Yeah, nvm, I'm not Jason.

I understand the snark, but before Jason was shot, he told Liz they would never happen and went back to Sam. So...oh wait. I keep forgetting how this keeps retconning stuff from day to day.  ???

Steve Burton looks weird.   Like he needs to gain 10-15 lbs.

I agree he looks a little too thin IMO but I still think he looks good. Really good especially compared to the other leading men currently on GH.

Do they actually think assaulting Franco is a thing that will make characters think *badly* of Patient Six/Jason?

The fact that he's played by Steve Burton and LOOKS like Jason, is enough for me to not give a crap if someone doused him in gasoline and lit him on fire. Jason, played by any actor, in any form, Quartermaine, Morgan, patient six, or otherwise, will always be a boring, pointless, overrated, bore. I don't have to tune in to know that.

He needs to learn to give his characters personality, is what he needs. It would be a whole new thing for him. And show should try putting him in stories with actors who don't whisper and mumble.

According to ABC SID, Nathan Varni had this to say on Twitter about Kristina/Parker:

Quote

"We had hoped to continue the story longer but one of the actresses booked another big show," ABC executive Nathan Varni explained to frustrated fans on Twitter. "Pausing for now but hope to continue later."

1) What's your excuse for your other off-screen gay characters, Nathan?

2) ABC SID, stop taking tweets and turning them into whole articles, it's pathetic.

Maybe it will work for her unlike back when Steve Burton was doing the same thing. Good luck KeMo

I think Billy Miller looks great.  DZ looks great.  Even Mo looks younger than Steve.  Is he sick?

I was talking more about RH and ME and JPS who Frank keeps trying to sell. The ones you mentioned look good.

Ms. Herbst, do you believe it makes for your sense for your character to date the man who, tumor or no, abducted her newborn son from the hospital?

@GHScorpiosRule Stevie jumped up when Laura mentioned Kim at the end of their chat and said he can't wait for their scenes to air. YES, PLS. Also, he was happy to have worked with Finola, as well.

I could happily attend a "Let's Pick Apart Jason and SBu's acting" 3-day summit, but I will always contend he brought it 100% of the time in scenes with KMc.  They just have something really special and it jumps off the screen.

And the part of Annoying Buzzkill will now be played by Melgaypet. I am happy for you guys that you're looking forward to Jason/Robin scenes. Truly. GH is a wasteland of suck and I begrudge no one any enjoyment they can find. (And you know I'd be stoked for a Jonathan Jackson/Becky Herbst scene, no matter what.)

But if feels so cynical and manipulative to me. Jason - especially Steve Burton's flavor - is a walking shitpile of a human and it bugs me that Robin is so soft on him still, even though it makes character sense. The show wants to ride on nostalgia instead of writing decent stories in the present, and so often goes to the well of using beloved female characters to prop up morally bankrupt male characters that I just am numb to this.

I am right there with you! Even during that suckitude, clusterfuck of all FUBAR'd proportions of Liz lying about Drew when he was Jake, the minute, no, the second Jonathan Jackson showed up with baby Jake, the screen SIZZLED and SPARKLED between him and Becky.

I know it. I feel the same. Hence why I always put on my Hypocrite Hat whenever I gush about seeing these two together.

I get what you're saying and I respect your opinion, obviously. I do think, however, that after the Carly/Michael bullshit in 1999, Jason never did a thing after that to disrespect or insult Robin, no matter how much of shit mobster he is. Robin also didn't prop Jason or say he was awesome for being a killer like other characters did. She always wanted more for him. And she consistently stood up for herself to Jason's face about how she was OK with the paternity reveal and that Carly was manipulate as fuck.

I get this. And I agree that Jason treated Robin with a level of respect he didn't show anyone else. She just never took a hard enough line about the whole KILLING FOR MONEY thing for my personal taste. Not that I hold this against Robin, specifically, the show would never allow that.

A lot of it, of course, is that I was never really into them as a couple in the first place. I certainly didn't hate them together - well, not until the cottage, anyway - they were sweet, the writing was there for them, and Kim C always sells her romantic pairings, but I didn't ever really invest. I'm not sure why.

As you wrote, no one is allowed to take a hard line about that, especially someone we're supposed to treat seriously. It's one of the biggest problems of the show, IMO.

I need them to up it to level: Brydog/Tony Geary. Get on twitter! Say your characters have moved on! Time for someone new! Fans shouldn't be coddled! Create a Drew/Sam hashtag (not just a Killy one lol)!

ETA: Oh, someone said he did mention Kelly. Boo, lol. They should still step it up!

I watched it. He only mentioned her when he was talking about the order of Jason's reunion scenes, lol.

Also, thought you'd laugh at this tidbit: Laura said she liked that Sonny was the first person Jason saw. Then followed that up by saying, "If Bob was here it might have been Carly." Bwah.

I felt similar when Robin popped in to talk Sonny out of suicide last year, or even when Stone showed up this summer.  It's a little more forgivable here, IMO.  A conversation between them about coming back from the dead and the emotional fallout could be really interesting.

At least Robin is directly connected to what happened to Jason. And didn't her talk with Sonny happen when she was in town anyway? It would be somewhat natural for her to visit him. When Stone appeared to Sonny, that was just craven manipulation. It was lovely to see Michael Sutton, but it was totally bogus.

It doesn't mean the show isn't using Robin and Stone as emotional shorthand, of course.

Robin and Stone is the CRUTCH this show will always use and manipleate to "prove" what a good man mooby really is. Because during that short period of time, he actually thought about someone other than himself. As if that negates all the other shit he's done.
