LeftPhalange February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 Easton returns soon to #gh in an exciting new role, more details to come later this month! I don't know what's worse, bring Silas Cialis back or creating a new character just for ME. I mean, really? It's not like this is Soap Royalty Roger Howarth. 2 Link to comment

jsbt February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 That's almost worse! Michael Easton is not so amazing a performer, so necessary to the survival of this show, that they need to give him a THIRD character to play. STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!! Fourth! 1 Link to comment
ch1 February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 How many characters has he played in the last 5 years just on this show? Someone should sing let it go to FV. 1 Link to comment

jsbt February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 I have no idea how the Christ this happened. My best guess: With The Fab Life gone Frank realizes they are going to be renewed through at least fall '17, and has decided to start flexing his muscles and bringing back in some of his favorites. He was always the one who loved ME, and killing Silas off was a last minute rewrite (originally it was Ric biting the dust) after FV had already defiantly re-signed Easton in the winter. I doubt it will be a long-term return but at this point nothing surprises me. 3 Link to comment
Sake614 February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 Seriously? I mean, I don't hate Easton, but he's not worth all this trouble. Isn't he making enough money with his graphic novels? There isnt' enough story for the actors already on contract, so now they're going to bring ME back as someone brand new? WHY????? 2 Link to comment
KerleyQ February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 Will this new character, like Silas, serve as a sleep aid for the audience? Or does ME plan on showing up awake and alert for this one? 7 Link to comment
jsbt February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 Isn't he making enough money with his graphic novels? Those things haven't exactly been a success. There's a reason he used to push them on soap fans and never left daytime. I am surprised DAYS didn't pick him back up in one of their manic casting fits, I'll say that. 1 Link to comment
TeeVee329 February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 Rest assured - Michael Easton's new character a) will have man pain and b) will have at least one woman lose her marbles over him. 9 Link to comment
Sake614 February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 so there's a video on the GH FB page of FV and ME in a supermarket, talking about him coming back to the show. I can't figure out how to separate the video to post it here, but here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/generalhospital/?fref=nf It's stupid but it's kinda cute at the same time. Link to comment

UYI February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 Fourth! Caleb and Father Morley on PC, Stephen Clay, John McBain, Silas, and now this new guy. Overall, it's actually his sixth GH related character. AND ONE MORE ME CHARACTER THAN WE ACTUALLY NEEDED. Link to comment

Why the heck did they kill him off only to bring the actor back, I don't consider McBain a failure as a character. I thought he worked really well in a screwed up police department, and loved ME with FH and TR. It was Frank and Ron's stupidity that caused them to lose McBain, and Ron's total inability to create a viable new character that was at the root of Easton's failure on GH. 10 Link to comment

But McBain's romance with Sam was so forced. We were supposed to believe that, while pining for others, they'd get so affected by sharing one single bottle of beer that they'd kiss? Whatevs. And I think McBain was a general annoyance to GH fans because he had to solve everything. Water crisis. McBain! Figuring out Fonduke was Faison. McBain! Saving Sam from the vampires? Tiger February 3, 2016 Share February 3, 2016 I am truly sorry to be missing the Robert/Anna/Mac/Felicia, but Frank bringing back Michael Easton AGAIN just re-affirms my decision to paddle past the barge and out towards the deep end of the ocean. I can think of fifteen actors whose returns I would have paddled furiously back for. On a very related note, I'm glad Lynn Herring stuck up for herself and rejected 'a line or two every few months' and made it clear that she's more than happy to come back for actual story. It made me think of that picture Kin Shriner posted a few months back of he, Lynn, Jackie Zeman, and Kristina Wagner and cited the three ladies as the way to save GH. A truly substantive and character-driven story with Lucy, Bobbie, and Felicia, would definitely be a reason to tune back in. 4 Link to comment
Lobsel Vith February 3, 2016 Share February 3, 2016 I actually didn't mind McBain solving anything Jasus or Sonny weren't allowed to save. He was a cop, not a mobster. I hated his imaginary sister. No one needs a reason to hate Sonny. Yeah, it was a nice change of pace from the Holy Hitman saving the town; I still remember (in horror) Jason riding to the rescue on a jet ski during the Black & White Ball... ...and I think Cole dying was sufficient enough. I also think whitewashing Sonny and vilifying new character/scapegoat Joe Junior wasn't necessary, and ended up making the whole sister plot rather pointless. At the very least, can this new character not be a mobster or a mob apologist? 2 Link to comment

Yeah, my biggest problem with McBain on GH was actually the dangling ties to OLTL - the ridiculous Retconia McBain nonsense and especially how Natalie and Clint both took off-screen hits to prop up his romance with Sam. I also didn't like how, once he realized Sonny hadn't killed Retconia, he was totally cool with him. Boooooo. Edited February 3, 2016 by TeeVee329 5 Link to comment

And sure, throw Lucy in. But - and I know Felicia is popular, Kristina Wagner's acting for me is not good (fits in with many! But still...) these days and frankly - and I know jokes galore have been made of it - Jackie Zeman ruined her face, and it hurts to watch her/Bobbie at this point. 4 Link to comment

I'm not in the deep in of the ocean but I am staying put on the barge. If the above get an actual story with a POV or a few true GH characters I like return, I may change my mind. 2 Link to comment
