But I WILL say, shallowly. that Show needs to start featuring Ric in more casual wear instead of those boxy lawyer suits, because the silver fox is foxing in this vid! Right! Listen, I LOVED seeing women that I adore like Genie and Jane in this, and I will give props once again to Laura Wright (who has long made clear that she is NOT about that), but I am so shallow and my big takeaway was "DAMN Ric looked sooo hot in that" 2 2 Link to comment

Look, I get it, you researched and feel they should be released, but those videos/clips with smiley hearts and love songs? Really make me roll my eyes and won't make me take you seriously. And of course now, all my YouTube page has all these interviews with Koch and Chavez, where Koch is pretty much dominating and doing all the talking. 1 Link to comment

I'm not necessarily against their release. However, I would not bet MY reputation on their post-release actions. Complete agreement. And it isn't the only example I could use of a modern trend of aggressively pursuing some position with regard to real people about whom one might not be as well informed or objective as one thinks, reading around or dismissing what isn't useful to the thesis, trying to pound a square peg into a round hole, and digging in if challenged. The behavior I've seen even from people who generally hold similar views to mine in recent years has been the most dismaying part of growing older in the 2010s and 2020s. 2 1 1 2 Link to comment

After being bashed for posing with guys dressed as the Menendez brothers, he then got bashed by supposedly devout Catholics for "blasphemy" when he posted a dance moment behind the scenes of Grotesquerie which invoked religious iconography. I'm just like, "Really? I thought we got over this when Pepsi finally decided to re-air Like A Prayer 35 years later at the Super Bowl." I think people are just looking to attack him and so far he's not rising to the bait. Edited November 7 by methodwriter85 4 Link to comment

CeChase Saturday at 12:26 PM Share Saturday at 12:26 PM (edited) I'm glad NAC is out of GH. His first year I thought he was great, but by the second year he was overwhelming. He stuck out too much. I became too aware "this is a movie star". We have a few very talented actors, I would point to Genie and NLG for two examples. But the elevated acting combined with the screen presence and charisma...it took me out of the show. IMO by the end he and Trina were ludicrous together. I would be totally down with a recast though. Asp Burger Sunday at 01:52 PM Share Sunday at 01:52 PM (edited) I can see what CeChase means. Jonathan Jackson also stood out in the '90s, but he wasn't the most castable type of young male. He was a very fine actor and he got some good post-GH credits. He proved he could hold the screen opposite great actors like Michelle Pfeiffer and Al Pacino, and he didn't Kirk Cameron up his career by making everything about his religious beliefs. But even the biggest JJ fan knew that as handsome as he was/is, that frame and that soft voice might keep him from being considered for a lot of roles in his age range. (Yeah, I know—Chalamet came along later and is also slight, and he's done well for himself, but whether that will be sustainable into his thirties is to be seen, and anyway, there are exceptions that prove the rule.) NAC is well positioned for "leading man" success. The movie isn't something I'm very excited for, myself. I love my share of horror films, but the best that could be said for the 1997 I Know What You Did Last Summer is that it was slightly above average for that kind of movie, and it sated fans who had loved Scream a year earlier and were counting the days until the Scream sequel a couple months after IKWYDLS. Still, I agree it's another good credit for NAC. I guess, if the roles he's played to this point are a guide, he'll be the next-gen version of Ryan Phillippe's character (the good-looking but entitled, short-tempered, violent jerk of the gang). I think this is intended as a sequel rather than a reboot. The Deadline article says Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt are "in talks to return." Unless it's a Ghostbusters 2016 situation in which original cast members are playing different characters for cutesy fan service, I'm guessing they're the now-middle-aged survivors, and their story is still part of the continuity. FilmTVGeek80 Sunday at 09:29 PM Share Sunday at 09:29 PM I think NAC was good, but I don’t think he was THAT good. Of the younger set, I thought William Lipton and Avery Pohls were better. And, I think it’s kind of insulting to the other actors - especially Tabyana - to act like it was such an embarrassment for NAC to have to lower himself to work with these other actors. 5 2 Link to comment

Yes, JJ would have had to hit the lotto basically to become a big star all things considered. He doesn't have leading man looks or the build. I am thinking of Aaron Paul in Breaking Bad. Only one of those roles to go around. I don't feel bad because women are almost solely judged on their looks, especially in Hollywood. It is what it is. 2 Link to comment

CeChase Monday at 04:43 PM Share Monday at 04:43 PM (edited) NAC could easily have been snapped up by the Marvel machine around 2010 if he hit then. But that is not to say that would have put him a better position long term, though it would have meant instant superstardom. It's hard to say, we'll have to see what happens with him. He'd make an interesting Batman, that's DC, but that's already filled. Edited Monday at 04:44 PM by CeChase 1 1 Link to comment

Maybe I misunderstood part of your comment then. You seemed to specifically single out Tabyana by saying it was “ludicrous” to watch Sprina together towards the end. That to me, seemed like a knock at Tabyana’s talent. Maybe it was more a knock at the convoluted writing? I never felt like NAC’s talent or charisma dwarfed hers. She contributed just as much to what made that pairing so popular as he did. 4 Link to comment

The closest I can think of is Jacob Elordi in that they can both do the brooding hunk thing, but Jacob is shy in public and he seems to take himself almost too seriously. NAC is all sunny and stuff. Sometimes people come along that are different enough that they carve up a space, and you can go far with that. Anya Taylor Joy is a person I think came along at exactly the right time because there was really nobody that looked/acted like her and we needed a Scream Queen for more highbrow horror stuff that was becoming popular in the 2010's. She was extremely smart with the projects she picked. (Of course in her case, Anya could be picky because she came from a wealthy family; I think NAC comes from a more middle class background.) 2 1 Link to comment

Grinaldi Yest. at 01:36 AM Share Yest. at 01:36 AM Verging close to off topic. But as a soap actor he would have more experience making sub-par dialogue work and finding his own intention with Lucas's famously terrible direction of actors. Auntie Velvet 16 hours ago Share 16 hours ago I remember the scenes of post-catatonia Laura reuniting with each of her three children, and how shocked she was by teen Lulu. It was the first time she realized how much time she'd lost. It will be great if Show plays to that history a little and Laura helps Lulu through that same trauma.... I was also trying to remember if Dustin died before or after Lulu collapsed at the hospital -- in other words, whether that will be a shock. 3 Link to comment
