Joe's claim of Dems leaking her name are  bullshit. Big Surprise.   And WaPo says it was made public thru her interview with them. Either way, it was NOT a Dem staffer, but far be it from Joe to not lie if it pushes his agenda.

Yeah, I think after that Whelan guy was off and running an hour and a half before the story was released all bets were off in terms of who leaked what.

Which is weird, because his Twitter lets me know Joe knows it was Whelan. So the distinction between Twitter words and MJ-Show words is such a weird arbitrary distinction. Like. Does Joe live in a mindspace where he thinks his Twitter-verse is completely and totally removed from his MJ-verse? I just want to scream at him, “WE KNOW YOU KNOW IT WAS WHELAN CAN YOU STOP FOR A MINUTE” but I don’t want to take my Twitter off private. Lol

That and the fact that the GOP had the 65 women letter within 24 hours.  I can't even get three people to call me back in 24 hours.

The true shame is Whelan not knowing LinkedIn would out him in the first place you complete moron.  Quite the brain trust they have going on there.  And of course we have Joe fumbling around with his newly minted flip phone . . . . good grief.

I saw a clip from this morning's MJ on Nicole Wallace's show. It's the bit where Joe is going after the always odious Jay Sekulow. I was mesmerized, though, by Mika's little one-word utterances of agreement throughout the bit. This is *exactly* how SNL portrays Mika's contribution to the show.

If Kate McKinnon were to sub one morning for Mika, would anyone notice?

Get ready for tomorrow. The UN audience laughed at Trump. Mika will be doing cartwheels.

You assume that she will be there.  I admit to having a grudging admiration for her gall in advising women on Knowing Their Value and making money off of it.  Born on third base and all that.  Geez...cannot stand her.  And if he was holding her purse, why wasn't he sitting in a chair?  Why was he looming off to the side.  I wish one of The View women would have brought up something truly insensitive or mocking.

WHOA OH MY GOD!!!!

I just watched this on my DVR.  (Nicole's got a great show)  Mika is such a fucking idiot, Nicole was giggling as she kicked this back to her group.  GOD that was funny and disturbing.

Transcript:

Joe is talking, and Mika looks straight into his ear, and then looks at the camera and grins like a -- I can't find the appropriate slur
He continues talking and she offers a "Mmmhm.  Check"
He's talking more, she offers "Right"
More.. "UH HUH!"
More and he said law and order in there and she gives us this gem, "Law and order.  Yup."
He goes on and before he wraps up, she blurts, "It doesn't add up."
The whole damn time, she's looking at something on the table like she's taking notes or annotating something or referring to a WaPo article or a briefing... but she's probably doodling the outline of a Grey Goose logo.

Sweet Nicole couldn't help but laugh.

They shouldn't have left Meeks alone with the car keys especially on a day like today.  She's gonna wreck the car.

I'm glad they have Zainab Salbi on today as she is terrific at articulating at what I think Meeks is shooting for.  Speaking of who else is on the show today:

Updated Weds. guest list: Mike Barnicle, Sam Stein, Zainab Salbi, Rick Tyler, David Ignatius, Jake Sherman, Elise Jordan, Steve Schmidt, Jeremy Peters, Peter Baker, Andrea Mitchell, Jane Harmna, Sen. John Kennedy, Kristen Soltis Anderson, Jacob Soboroff, Reihan Salam and more

Yep, it was reported by Mika as Joe has the day off.

Thanks Stormy.  That must be why her purse is on full display in the background (she's probably used to Joe discreetly tucking it away).

Ok, don't throw anything at me but that clip of Joe standing on the Today set holding her purse made me laugh.

Zainab's outfit today is just spectacular, she looks great.

What is Mika babbling about now? She is just all over the place on this Kavanaugh story.

They'll never recover from Monday's (or was it last Friday's?) debacle.  You can't be all KYV and then basically dump on Dr. Ford.  You would think she would have learned something after her poorly thought out defense of Halperin but no.

Early in the show we are forced to listen to trump and his allies attack Dr Ford. Marsha Blackburn as usual is disgusting. Mika brushed her off. "Maybe she had to do that".

But in the next hour Mika's all, this is what happens when their leader has paid hush money to porn stars and Playboy bunnies.

It's like she forgot she just ran around TV promoting her book about women's values and coined the phrase "Know Your Value".

7:56 AM: Heilmann-- finally after years of watching-- says something significant. After listening to that Louisiana Senator mumble through his excuses and Willie, trying again and again to get somebody to answer this ? asks him, "Why the hurry? Why do we have to hurry on this vote?" LA Senator said, "Well lots of fine people spend a lot of money to go to the Supreme Court and we don't want them to get a tie vote." And I'm thinking in my head,  "Merrick Garland Merrick Garland Merrick Garland!" And Heilmann  brought that right up. Good on you for once Heilmann!

Scarborough recently (and reluctantly) brought up  the much-advertised possibility of Avenatti bringing forth a third accuser.

What's the consensus here?   Is Avenatti blowing smoke again?   Or does he have a credible client who will come forth?

Yesterday a guest on some panel show on MSNBC said that Morning Joe rival for Mika's affection, Michael Avenatti, is seeking publicity because he's gearing up for a 2020 Presidential run.  And she said it off-hand as a lead in to her analysis, as if it's simply a known thing that we're all aware of.  That can't be right, right?  No way Avenatti will run for President?  President?  No way.  He wouldn't even be a good choice to be Beto's VP.

This is serious stuff, not a sex with a porn star case.

I thought the case with Stephanie wasn't about sex with a porn star, it was trying to prove that they used the pay off, made just a couple weeks before the election to influence the election, and may have been in violation of campaign finance laws, by suing him to disclose he authorized the payment.   Everyone knew/knows Trump cheats on all his wives, before he even announced he was running, apparently that wasn't an issue  as Joe & Mika were happy to be BFFs with him, just for them if it's Bill Clinton, it's disgusting.   Joe is very selective which cheating husbands club he's in. Trump's yes, Bill's, no.

I was down with Avenatti when he was helping with the immigrants being detained,  but I don't know why any woman would contact him re this issue.  They would use an attorney they're familiar with, not someone who, altho his initial motive may have been pure, has been bitten by the fame bug.

Tune in to Stephanie Ruehl.  Mika is going to be a guest promoting her book.  This promises to be boring with Stephanie tossing softballs to our frosted cupcake.

Edit:  I blinked and missed it.  Did she get bumped for breaking news?

No, she was on, but she didn't say anything new. Just the same stuff she always says about KYV.

She was on and changed into her KYV uniform which apparently is her black shirt and pants.  She has the same problem Joe has with people calling them all the time:  Mika with women letting her know how they got that raise and of course Joe with his congressional colleagues that are always looking for his advice.  They are literally making me ill, no more MJ for me this week.

Team Avenatti!

Will Joe show his pie face at work tomorrow? Will he have the balls to welcome Avenatti as a guest? Will Mika disparage the latest/third accuser - who has courage,, wasn't born on third base, and Knows Her Value?

I've seen nothing that even comes close to qualifying him as a presidential candidate but I think he would be aces as a campaign manager. Jeez, think about what that would do for Joey's blood pressure - and His Value. Those who can, do; those who can't, loom and bloviate.

And, truly, WTF is up with the pie face goon having a three-hour show when he has so little to offer? Is he the Today show? No. Is he GMA? No. Stop enabling him. Whittle him down to one hour and add two more one-hour hosts to the lineup. Please and thank you.

He DOESN'T have a 3 hour show.  Its 2 hours tops because they repeat so many segments.  If I tune in at 6 AM I can expect to hear at least the first 1/2 hour replayed around 8, whilst JoeMika go out and get Bulletproof coffee and a schmeer.

Rick Tyler actually alluded to this earlier in the show (the tied vote factor) but didn't get specific.  He was saying something like "as a conservative, having eight people on the Court wouldn't be so bad" and he didn't complete the thought.  I assume his point was that since all the lower federal courts are being stacked with Trumplets, a tie in the SC means the lower court decision stands and that wouldn't be a bad thing for conservatives.  Which is probably true.  But they want to make sure to get their guy on the SC just in case the Democrats take over the Senate.  Much as I want that to happen, I'm not counting on it.

But this is ridiculous.  Pull his name and put up the next Federalist judge on the list so we can stop all this discussion of sexual assault and gang rape before I've had my morning coffee!!  Joe and Meek-a are ridiculous about most issues but if all she's going to say every day is "we have to be fair and we can't prejudge or state an opinion" why exactly are we watching?  And then she threatens to throw off any guest that dare say they believe one side or the other ("I've done it before").  So a psychologist or sexual assault survivor can't come on and say "I believe Dr. Ford and here's why".  Girl, BYE!!

Six minutes in and we just discovered that Joe was in Congress!

Oh my god, Joe has just parroted the Republican Party line about Avenatti’s client: “Why did she go to all of these gang rape parties? Why didn’t someone report it? Why didn’t someone go get the parents?”

I can’t believe I have to spell this out for him. He is my age and he KNOWS exactly why. It wasn’t considered rape back then. These girls were considered drunk and easy, so there was nothing to report. The parents usually weren’t home and no one wanted to get in trouble.

I was at parties where shit like that happened, in high school and college. It was ingrained in fraternity culture. Everyone knew it.

Thank god Joyce is pushing back on stuffy Podhoretz.

So I think this show is officially auditioning to be picked up by Fox.

Douchebro delighted in saying that no reporter could find any witnesses to corroborate the reports, conveniently omitting that these people may not wish to make themselves complicit, or to put themselves through the alt-right meat grinder, or that they are not under oath.   He made it sound like there's no one to vouch for Ford, Ramirez or the other accuser, despite (as I recall) there are people who provided sworn supporting statements.   He did his best to say they are all lying without saying they are all lying.

His complaint about the process is that "this is not good for the Republicans, and this is not good for Judge Kavanaugh."   He just said those exact words.

I saw a few minutes of Podhoretz and Joe blaming the victims. I am so disgusted by this show - and Ms. Know Your Value - that I can’t believe I was ever a regular viewer. I respect Joyce Vance and try to watch when she’s on, but couldn’t make it to when she spoke.

Joe is right about not being a Republican anymore. He’s clearly a Trumpist, which he’s been from the beginning. He’s simply afraid to say it because he, like Trump, yearns for acceptance by the DC elites. And Mika? Simply a hypocrite who lacks self awareness and empathy.

So it sounds like I was lucky my Comcast was out until 10 minutes ago.  What is this, sweater day?  I can't believe Joe has that scuzzy thing on and then I see Podhoretz and it all makes sense.  I didn't see the segment but I have been watching his twitter feed and he's been just awful since this whole thing blew up.  No longer a fan.

They dragged on Katie Couric at the end of the second hour, hmmm, and ended her segment with a prompt to watch Scoop With Katie somewhere this evening while she promotes the KYV book. Yawn. The Katie segment was sorta worth it, re-hashing the glorious gift that was Sarah Palin.

Aaaand even on a news day like today ... cue the rerun of the first hour. Sigh.

I thought the same last week.  It would make sense, given the recent sharp turn right.

I switched on 5mins early to listen to Stephanie Ruhle.  It started well with Joyce Vance being her usual clear competent self.   Then Joe saying words  and Willie wondering why we had this hearing. Nothing had changed.

Maybe these assholes should read Michelle McNamara's book "I'll Be Gone in The Dark".

Those rapes and murders happened in the 70s and 80s.

They caught the guy in April 2018.

Fuck the fuck off.

Kavanaugh can't remember any of it because he was fucking black out drunk.  His Fox interview was so rehearsed and staged it was pathetic. He's almost in tears because he can't believe he, a rich white guy, isn't getting away with whatever the fuck he wants.  Wait til one of those girls on the team he coaches comes forward.

And why would Avenatti's client give a sworn testimony and risk her security clearance and job? Because this is so much fun?

I vaguely recall a Vanity Fair article a few years ago, recounting how much power Joe actually wielded at the network--which was a lot.  One of his chief complaints to the suits upstairs was that there were too many liberal-leaning shows on the network.  I figured then that he saw himself as the lone conservative crying in a wilderness of shows leaning forward.  I've long suspected that this is why MSNBC either canceled or moved certain shows to undesirable time slots.  Then to add insult to injury, they brought on refugees from Faux such as Greta, whose show was a ratings disaster. When Lawrence O'Donnell's show came up for renewal, there were rumors they were going to drop him, too.  That is, until the suits looked at the dip in ratings the network suffered when they started adding more conservative voices, as well as the backlash from viewers daring them to get rid of LOD.  The network was already bleeding viewers who were walking out the door, one toe at a time.  The network did a course correction but it was too late for some of those who had already left the network like MJP.

Joe and Meek-a have a history of backing the wrong horse and putting all their rotten eggs in first, Christie's and then Drumpf's baskets.  Now, Meek-a is back to her "warning" Democrats on how to play this and the "both sides" nonsense. Joe is back to ridiculing Drumpf for that press conference yesterday, calling it "hours of rambling nonsense and buffoonery."  Well, guess who legitimized that rambling buffoon, Joe?  And, one could easily say the same thing about you sometimes.

Joe throws KavaHellNaw's accusers under the bus and Meek-a sits there and nods like a bobble-head doll.  I've long been sick of the "both sides'isms" that they love to trot out.  The GOP could have avoided this problem had they not tried to ram this political hack through for political expediency and to ultimately remove any real checks on Drumpf's power.  And, no, Mr. Geist.  This sham of a nomination process is not being run like the Gambino crime family by the Democrats.  Nice job in trying to throw shade, but it was actually the Republicans who refused a reasonable request for an FBI investigation.  It was clowns like Ed Whelan who muddied this process even further by deliberately smearing an innocent man and putting a target on his back just to help his boy.  As someone else noted, the real mafia analogy is the ramming through this nominee because "he'll take care of things" for the boss. Except, they were sloppy about it and got exposed the way cockroaches are when one turns on the kitchen lights at 3 a.m.  Now, they're pissed because somebody took out the Raid Fogger and lots of dead roaches are being left behind to be cleaned up.

Now, just imagine if Brett's name was "Jamal" or "Jose."  This job interview would have ended quick, fast and in a hurry a long time ago, and both of those gentlemen would have been nothing more than pitiful footnotes in the history books.
