I am especially thankful for your recaps today, Oakville. I woke up at 6:00 and watched the first few bits of the show, but I was still tired and went back to sleep. I *thought* I remembered Robert Costa's feed being off, but then I wondered if I just imagined it. What I do recall is being rather depressed at all the early discussions.

But here's a warning about not going back to sleep while MJ is on. I had a dream that both Robert Costa and Heidi P. showed up at the table. They both looked really short and really young. Robert Costa was wearing a football jersey in support of his favorite team. Heidi P. was also wearing a jersey but it has a feminist slogan on it. She had her hair in long braids.

I have no idea what any of it means. But it seems to be a cautionary tale . . .

I'm fairly certain that Heidi Przybyla was never young.  I think I read somewhere that she has been 31 years old for 44 years.  She was born sitting ramrod straight, soberly quoting the Ford Administrations' formal statements on the key economic indicators pointing to an impending gas crisis and strife in the Middle East.
She's from Alexandria, which explains a lot.  I bet her parents were two brainiacs from aristocratic money... guessing one was a professor and the other career State Department.  That explains her sober, articulate, sharp mind and her perfect posture.

I just watched a focus group answer questions about Trump.  They were evangelicals.  Also, they were loathsome, disgusting sub-humans.  The definition of lowest common denominator.  Was this the group the NYTimes interviewed?  Was the journalist who wrote the article on MJ?  What's his/her name?

I don't believe the NYT piece was an article per se.   It looked like a propaganda sheet of testimonials from satisfied Trump customers.   No one on set from the NYT to support it.

I wonder how many people canceled their Times subscriptions today.   They lost my $180/yr.

I listened to Wednesday and Thursday via the podcast, and thought it had malfunctioned -- thanks for explaining the Costa feed being lost.  And yes, they (and others) seem to think a cognitive test is a psychological fitness test; good for us to know that Trump can tell the difference between a giraffe and a rhino, but his lack of knowledge and lack of even temperament were not measured by a cognitive test!

It was annoying the way they handled the Costa malfunction. It was like Mika was trying to pretend it didn't happen and she cut Joe off when he tried to acknowledge it.

The customer service line was out of order when I called the first few times.  Got the "due to heavy call volume" line, then after a few minutes a recorded message saying there was a technical problem with the system.

Susan Fereccio. Kasie! gets another lightning intro. She winced. Mika said it never gets old! yes it does.

Joe said the GOP is to blame because they run everything. Joe forgot that it takes 60 votes in the Senate to approve the spending bill.

The pig's name is Casey (that is the pronunciation but Mika will not divulge the spelling). Close-up of Kasie ! who appears bewildered. Mika assures her that the spelling is not KC/Kasie ! and promises to reveal the spelling to the panel during a break. Evidently it will remain a tease for the viewers.

Jim Jordan.   What a piece of work.   I have seen marlins landed more easily than getting Jordan to say whether he supported allowing Dreamers to stay.   He repeated the talking point that Democrats want to hurt the military for the sake of people who came here illegally.

I am strongly against illegal immigration and I *hate* the euphemism "Dreamers" but even I wouldn't define kids brought here by their parents as "coming here illegally."   If the parents stole a car and threw the kids in the back seat, the children would not be guilty of stealing that car.  By the same principle, the children are not guilty of breaking immigration or border security laws.

Agree. And why should Sam get blamed for being late when it was a technical issue? TBS he could have said "technical issue" instead of "technician".

I don't know if anyone caught it, but in one of his answers to Willie, Jordan previewed the Republicans' latest shitbomb to throw at the Russia investigation.  Willie asked him what Paul Ryan gave the Freedom Caucus to convince them to change their vote.  Jordan's reply was something like, "He's giving us a vote to let the public know what the FBI is doing."

He was referring to a "top secret" report created by Trump tool Devin Nunes supposedly revealing a conspiracy between the Justice Department and the FBI "at the highest levels" to undermine the Trump presidency.

You guys, I'm really conflicted. They're running this montage of all the women's marches and overlaying it with Joe's new song. I kinda like the song, and the montage is very inspiring, but then I remember that it's Joe and the hypocrisy overwhelms me.

Can't say I like Scarborough recasting Trump and Miller as King Theoden and Grima Wormtongue.

What Scarborough implies is that Trump has the ability and desire to do the right thing -- if only Stephen Miller wasn't controlling his mind.

Trump hasn't done the right thing since taking office (and who knows if ever before that).  Not once.  His every action is tainted with self-interest and self-promotion.   Even if Stephen Miller wasn't whispering in his ear, I have no faith that Trump has the potential to help anyone but himself.
