this is a spumor / rumor i read at a different forum and i wasn't sure where to put it..

anywho, the rumor is dummer gets pregnant but kyle is dumping her for lola so she decides to get an abortion so as not to interfere with his relationship.

i don't believe it for a moment...that she would decide to get an abortion.

I THINK she would use a pregnancy to her advantage like her mom did.

she might say she would get one to see his reaction...or, she would tell him no worries cause she can look after the kid herself and he can just go on his merry ole way....

no way tho would she get rid of her bargaining chip / anchor baby.

In 2019 no soap opera is having a character get an abortion, and certainly not arguably the most conservative soap. It will not happen. Now I can see Summer threatening it and then falling down some stairs or something.

Ashley did, the first time she got pregnant by Victor. The show "punished" her by having her fall apart mentally and she ended up in a mental institution. That episode later became a large part of her motivation when she stole Victor's sperm and got IVF to produce Abby.

Dang it! I wanted my repetitive baby switch storyline so we'd at least end up with epic Kola and a Baby Rosales Abbott out of it. Oh, well.

But seriously, I was a lone Mia fan and will oddly miss the character and the potential she had. The actress couldn't overcome the bad writing and inconsistent direction of the character but I could've easily seen her with Noah, Devon, or even Jack (rather than Kerry).  Good luck to the actress in her other endeavors!

The show really is getting back to basics!

I like the actress. She has charisma and talent. But I get why they let her go. Though I think Rey should have gone before Mia. But once they retconned the furnace sex it was a done deal.

Y&R is taking names, rank & serial numbers. If you weren’t part of the cast  pre 2000 whatever you are done. LOL!!! I’m guessing JV makes the cut since he has soap creds. The only other one left is Lola. They need someone for Kyle for now anyway. MS & GR are coming back and nuAdam is around the corner, too. If they could wrangle back ED they would be good for a while & back to some sense of structure. Of course, it depends on the writing and directing to get people interested. Also, if possible, could you please bring back the old Newman ranch. Then I’ll be satisfied. LOL!!!!!!

Not sure about that. Some viewers are seeing the Lola/Kyle/Summer triangle as the new Sharon/Nick/Phyllis. If Summer or Lola (or both!) end up pregnant all bets are off.

I think Rey is the one whose status is questionable. Of course they're using Sharon to try to salvage a male character (like they did with Adam and Dylan) but he needs something to do besides laying up with a woman who's not his wife. I'd like to see him start his own detective agency, like Paul had back in the day. He could work with Michael to get the dirt in legal cases and it would allow him to continue mixing it up with the Abbotts, Newmans, GCPD, etc.

Lola will be the heavy for it. It won't be balanced and she will stay under the bus until they finally make her crazy. No way will this show gamble on missing out on a young newman/Abbot pairing. Especially one they've been trying to get off the ground for years. The only thing that'll change the game is if some exec, writer, or producer decides that they love Lola or Sasha Calle. 

Rey is definitely questionable. But he's the one Angelica has decided to put all her might behind. 

I'll give Lola 2 years tops before she steals Summers kid or tries to kill summer.  I'll give Rey 1 year before he goes off to join the FBI.

Hmmmm if Rey is staying I see why Cane might be on the way out. I never loathed DG/Cane but I argued we needed a 40ish male not related to the Newman/Abbott families.

Cane wore out his welcome from me long ago. I'm not sure what else they could have done with him at this point. The scenes between Lily and Cane at the prison icked me out and made him come across as even more of a controlling ass which I was surprised was possible. I would have liked to have seen Lily as a character without him as an anchor of a husband. I guess CK deciding not to come back even with Mal gone made it easier to get rid of him. I wonder if the twins will go next since they don't seem to have a storyline either. Were either of them even on contract?

I hadn’t heard any rumors of DG leaving. That said, I haven’t heard anything about CK returning. Without her Cane is irrelevant. Maybe, if Jess Walton was on full time he could work with her more for a family story but she’s pretty much in Oregon full time. Time will tell but it will be it be interesting to see what becomes of Cane & Lily. BTW! The best scene on Y&R was when Cane got shot on the courthouse steps. It wasn’t so much that Cane got shot but it was beautifuly directed & filmed in slow motion. Of course, after that he begged Y&R to keep him on the show and it went down hill after that.

So they're gonna turn Lola into Mia?  If so they should've let her die from her dip on the frozen Abbott pool.

I haaaaaate when they pivot a character from sincere love interest into crazy interloper to help along a couple and make them legit. ATWT was the worst about it trashing great heroines for Carly and Jack ( Julia 1.0) and Paul and Emily (Meg- when Emily had been the original crazy one). If there is anything that will get me off the Kyle train is if the show tries to pull this crap and make Skyle happen- especially since Hunter King isn't going to be on long term since she has a prime time show.

Yes! I hated Meg being sacrificed. Wasn't Rosana also made crazy to pimp Paul and Emily, too? Or was it Paul and Meg she went crazy over? But soaps do this all the time. Especially when TPTB decides who the couple will be coming out of a triangle versus letting fans decide.

I very much doubt they will.  If anything, it will go in the opposite direction and have Dummer get even worse.  

Hunter King isn't sticking around full time, not with her prime time gigs so it wouldn't even make sense.

Rosanna was made crazy to pimp Carly and Mike Kasnoff but mostly Carly as she took off as a character while Rosanna remained mostly a dud until they recast her muuuch later with Cady McClain. 

Emily went nuts helping Paul perpetuate his lie/cover up about Jen's baby and went from interloper in the Paul and Meg romance to raising a crazy and on the run? MIA? Meg's kid with soulmate Paul by the end of the show's run. 

Like I said, ATWT was horrible about trashing their heroines to push a couple/story.

Hard to believe that Lane might be leaving whole hog. Thought they'd try Cane as a single dad with Sam. That actually could be an interesting reboot for him.

Oh, Tobin, I too loathed Paul and Emily on ATWT with near the same intensity I hate Philly. Flames on the side of my face hatred. I hope Y&R doesn’t try to force Summer and Kyle in the same way. There’s already an Abbott/Newman endgame couple in Villy, and their last names are the least of what make them interesting. Also... they thought they were siblings. I remember in 2012 when JG did an interview (with JFP) right after they took over. He said he wanted to fire considerably more people than they had (and they’d fired a few) but TPTB stopped them, said too many cast changes could alienate viewers.

This time it looks like the network/Sony isn’t standing in his way.
