Ugh, I don't want to watch Flo getting her groove on while Hope is still needlessly suffering the loss of her child. And miss me with that 80s porn music. 😑😑😑😑

Yes, Hope, Thomas will do anything to make what he wants happen. Douglas' conception is a perfect example of that. Run!

So is Hope giving up on her life to be Douglas' nanny? It doesn't make sense!

I bet Thomas is going to try to kill Liam but end up killing someone else by accident.

Is there anything more embarrassing  nowadays than the “lovemaking” scenes? In the past, they seemed to be romantic and loving. Now they just try to eat each others’ faces. There’s nothing romantic or sexy about these. How about they go back to the really old days where they kissed and then closed the door and we imagined what they did behind the door? Works for me.

Forgot to add: I hate Flo’s tatooed dark eyebrows. They look awful with that really blond, highlighted hair.

I wanted to add to Zoe116's recap. Yep. There was an awkward Flatt sex scene, which I ff'd through. Anyway, before Brooke cornered Liam at FC, Liam was in the process of texting Wyatt to let him know that the Lope marriage was ending and to ask if Liam could crash at Wyatt's house.

Back to Flatt. In the "afterglow," (where Wyatt went on ad nauseum about how "trustworthy," "honest," and "deserving" Flo was -- GAG!) Wyatt brought up Phoebeth's "father" and Flo quickly changed the subject. Then, they were interrupted by Wyatt's phone incessantly chiming with text alerts. He finally looked and saw Liam's messages. When Wyatt told Flo that Lope was breaking up, she totally flipped out. That extreme reaction raised an immediate red flag with Wyatt and he pressed for details and even asked if it was something to do with Phoebeth. At the end of the show, Flo was explaining to Wyatt how she'd "made some mistakes" (ya think?) and had gotten in over her head in a "situation."

The final scene with Liam and Hope was so sad. Hope basically told Liam that ending the marriage and being a surrogate mother to Douglas isn't what she wants, but what makes sense. More illogical talk about "for the children," blah, blah, blah and how every day that Liam spends worrying about Hope is a day Hope is depriving Liam of being with his children. Then crying over the crumpled sonogram image.

But ... I am so sick to death of this being played day after day after day. Brad Bell does not possess the vision or writing talent to properly time a major story. If his intention has been to drag this Phoebeth story out endlessly, then he needed multiple sub-plots involving other characters to support it. Instead, he is at a loss for words and ideas, thus the excessive repetition.

In a moment of lucidity, Hope gave Thomas a dose of reality but than she reverts into the make believe world of OZ and her little munchkin.  Liam, either should have her committed or tell her to get thee to a nunnery.

Way to go Wyatt.  You just had to spoil the intimate moments, of cuddling, after “mind” blowing sex and ask dumb questions about previous relationships and the baby daddy.  You would have been better off if you just fell asleep.

I haven't watched in months, only keeping up on here to see when its safe to return, if ever.  Every once in a while i will lose track of the remote on my day off and accidently see part of an episode, but there hasnt been any movement sine the beginning of 2019.. And since everyone knows poor Hope if off the deep end... give her an ultimatum... get into some inpatient psychiatric care for a month and then they will consider her crackers proposal.

Chances are, if Hope is away, that's when the Phoebeth reveal will happen. Because TPTB hate us.

The longer this shit drags on, the more I think about how I never want to see another baby switch ever again. I say this having come into all three of my soaps from this trope and sitting through the clusterfuck of Y&R's SullyCAN story. Everyone in that one was stupid and horrid including Sage who took the Adam paternity to her grave, but it was nothing that stood out like a sore thumb against what's left of Y&R's brand.

She told him he can’t have expectations of her. He yes yesed her while making it clear he had expectations of her. She told him Liam is the man she loves and the man she will always love, then told him he’d been at her house awhile. He was like, “Is that your way of kicking me out?” And Hope was like yes, obviously. (Ok, fine, she said it nicer than that, but the intent was clear.) Then Liam, fresh off a pep talk from Brooke—who rightly pointed out that if Hope actually became Douglas’ mother and not just a maternal figure, she would never leave him—came home, and they had a delicate conversation about their marriage. (Basically, he didn’t try to steamroll her into anything, but just tried to gently prod her into having an actual conversation and not just wringing her hands about the children). then they cried together over Beth’s sonogram because, y’know, months of that is totally why people watch soaps.

The most ridiculous thing about this ridiculous marathon of misery is the show managed to do something I would have thought impossible. Actually make me believe in and root for one of Liam's relationships. The writing and acting of Liam and Hope are better than they have ever been and it's all just to heap more pain on the characters and the audience.

PsychoCreepyTom is going to force himself on Hope and then brainwash convince her that she wanted it and lead him on.

Hope will alternately feel ashamed by what she "did" and beyond horrified that she betrayed Liam (the man she'll always love.)

She'll probably, eventually, maybe confide in Flo what happened.  Flo will feel terrible about it all, but not enough to tell the truth about Phoebeth.

I will then be forced to fly to Bell A and slap a bitch on Brad Bell.

To use the Amber story as an example, I do seem to remember her doing more than just endlessly yak with her mother about the guilt of switching her dead baby with Becky's and Becky got more stuff to do besides looking for her kid. Besides hiding the baby, Amber was dealing with Kimberly and Brooke's disapproval. Acting-wise, there was nothing anywhere near the performances that Clifton and Noelle or even JMW have given in the last few months and objectively even I as an Amber fan would say it LA ked the give-a-fuck factor that made the Lauren/Sheila story the hit that it was.

But I can say that at a very basic level, I *was* entertained right up till the reveal that happened the Friday before school began (ah, the good old days of 1999 before I had my own VHS recorder).

I hate that the absolute most. It means the show was always aware of what an absolute charmless jackwagon Liam has been since at least 2011 and decided to double down on it unironically.

I feel as manipulated as I did when TIIC complete rewrote Nick into...well, Ridge to sell us the Unstable Bridge again after that fake deathbed marriage to Taylor. But even there, Brooke had told Ridge to kick rocks and had no interest in him until Stephanie lured her back into his life. Even if I hated Nick at the end of it, I can't deny that Ridge was legit reflecting on his choices.

I actively resent that it's taken this level of misery on my end as a viewer for Liam to stop being a compete shit and have a tiny drop of self-reflection (ie, that line about Thomas and Cabo and the bed-hopping between Steffy and Hope) . It's entirely unearned and after all the other points where this Dark Night of the Soul could have and should have stuck, I'm reminded of that Chris Rock routine where he tells people that taking care of your kids is not something to brag about: it's the base level of being a decent human being.

In no universe should someone be applauded for not fucking off to his three-time ex wife or defending his marriage when everyone (except Bill for the first time ever, it just occurred to me) is inexplicably pushing him back to a woman that's hurt him out of pettiness--a woman who marked him the day Liam Cooper became William Spencer III for his status, and the fact that she could twist the knife in a Logan's back was the cherry on top. Seeing Hope dump Liam after she went back on all her principles and she still wasn't enough would've been far most satisfying to watch. Even Bridget as B&B's Meg Griffin got to have that with Deacon.

Bell can fuck off.

Still not tuning in but thanks to all the brave souls for continuing to enter the shitstorm and reporting back.

I don't know how this show keeps on getting renewed and it is the worst it has ever been and it went off the rails when a dead baby was placed in Hope's arms.

I didn't think it could get worse but it has.

This Lope, with these actors, the best pairing SC has ever had, is now in shreds.

tDwjLkT2?format=png&name=600x314

And for what? For Liam to go back to Hauxdi (who glory hallelujah, doesn't even appear to want him back but we're gonna have to swallow that anyway?) And for Hope to continue to be preyed upon by creepy motherfucker ThomASS?

Who is a beady-eyed heartbeat away from orchestrating the same MISUNDERSTANDING NIGHT that resulted in Douglas' conception.

D7xY_7aXYAELifb.jpg

Elsewhere, we have Felony Flo breaking in her new digs by fucking too-stupid-to-live Wyatt.

Also, I hate her stupid Sharpie eyebrows, too.

If they want to turn Thomas into a serial killer, he can do me the favor of killing Ridge, Brooke, Katie, Flo, Zoe, and Taylor.  I will probably be adding to this list.

Bring Bridget and RJ back to the show.  Resurrect Phoebe and Allie.

Then maybe we could get a storyline that doesn't involve a stupid triangle.

Thank you, everyone, for all of the recaps. I'm so glad I didn't miss any show movement. What a cluster this has become. I watch it during my lunch, so I don't have a lot of other options as far as fast-forwarding & skipping. I guess I'm in it for the longhaul, which is getting increasing longer.

It occurred to me yesterday, if I just flipped on the TV, & saw Thomas on the screen, saying even 1 line of dialogue, I'd assume that I'd flipped on a bad Lifetime movie, & he was the stalker/rapist/killer, even without the benefit of knowing that he actually is 2 out of the 3, so far, but that could change (insert Brooke's patented finger-snap) *just.like.that* (insert Brooke's patented finger-snap). He just looks smarmy. There is no life in that dude whatsoever. Combine that with the fact that he is a rapist psychopath, & they should have just left him in NYC, with Caroline or without. Even if it ever comes out that Douglas actually is Ridge's, which would honestly fix a lot of the problems on this show, it wouldn't have nearly the impact with Caroline for-real dead, & none of the drama that Ridge having a child with her would entail.

For the past 10 years or so, the TV in our breakroom has always been tuned to BB.  12 or so people have been watching religiously since Eric was on the ledge outside Donna's apartment (that sight hooked everyone.)  For the past two months however, everyone's been reading or texting and the TV's not even on most days.  If that's what the producers meant to accomplish with these depressing endlessly repetitive storylines, then they've done their jobs.

Twenty year viewer here; the last time I was this checked out the show and it's goings-on was during my deployments because I physically could not watch the show at sea.

At least the ToD 2.0 was good for a hate watch.

I lived through the 3 BABIES (2 of them dead if I recall) 2 SHOWS AMC/OLTL never ending baby switch of 2003. I watch this show on closed captioning at the gym I work at and just in the infrequent segments I see this is soooo much worse. I think Miranda was almost a year old before Erica got to place her in an unconscious Bianca's arms but this seems like Beth will be in high school (so like 2 years haha) before Hope gets to hold her as her mother and not Auntie Hope. It's just awful and sad and stupid.

Heh, Phoebeth was looking at Hope like "I sure hope I inherited the sanity genes from Daddy because you're a complete fruitcake, Mommy."

I don't know why people are still humoring Hope. Most of what comes out her mouth these days is coocoo for cocoa puffs and they all know it. Maybe they should be arranging an intervention for her.

Um, Zoe, you can be extradited back from the UK. Just sayin'. And being party to a kidnapping is a capital crime.

"Gee, officer, I don't know how it happened. My boyfriend Xander and I were talking about where to go for lunch and the next thing I knew he tripped and fell on this letter opener. It went right into his carotid artery! Total freak accident!" 😒

Zoey and Flo have fallen victim to the partially open door.  It’s about time.

So, yeah. Xander overheard Zoe and Flo's conversation, which you can probably quote verbatim by now. Flo left the office and Xander went in and confronted Zoe. But nothing else happened. Nobody stabbed him with a letter opener.

There was a rare appearance from Maya (who looked stunning in a gorgeous floral dress) only to announce the Lope divorce. Seriously. That was it. She walked into the office to apparently do something, then said that she spoke to Brooke and then repeated the Lope breakup news. I thought Maya's big announcement was going to be that she and Lizzie were moving away from L.A. as some sort of segue for when KM is officially off the show.

Hope went back to visit Steffy and once again started in on what a failure Hope has been as a woman, a wife to Liam and a mother to Beth. She specifically asked Steffy if there was a guest room available. At first, I thought that Hope was asking for it for herself and thought that was a great idea, but no, it was for Liam. Steffy stated once again that she had no idea what was going to happen with her and Liam. Then Phoebeth woke up and Hope held her and talked to her. Told the baby that "daddy would be home soon." (or something like that.)

Oh, Steffy asked Hope why she and Liam didn't consider adoption and Hope gave some crazy response like it would be "selfish" when three children in their life need parents. And basically, she needs to punish herself for "failing" Beth. #tripleaxeleyeroll

Wyatt gave Liam a key to Wyatt's Bill's beach house. When Liam commented on Wyatt's goofy expression and "glow," Wyatt spilled the beans about his night with Flo. When Liam mentioned Sally, Wyatt was like, "who?" Asshole.

And yes, Zoe thinks that if she and Flo confess to Hope, that Zoe can just run off to the U.K. Uh, doesn't work quite like that. Zoe would be crossing back over the pond in handcuffs, accompanied by her father and a U.S. Marshal. Flo is going to bravely stay in L.A. How big of her.

What are the odds that now Xander won't tell the truth either?  Xander, Flo, and Zoe will have the same fucking conversation for months, and NEVER tell Hope and Liam the truth.  Serial Killer Thomas can add Brad Bell and the writers to the list.

Yeah, Hope.and Liam should be adopting exactly zero babies the way she's going.

I continue to be astonished at how quickly Wyatt has turned into trash the minute he got a second option on the table. Younger Hope could be thoughtless and difficult so I can see why Liam dipped his toe into greener pastures, but even there he didn't act like Steffy didn't exist (he sometimes took it to the other extreme of entertaining her shit too much, but I digress).

At this rate, I'd rather Sally date Steffy than to ever look at Wyatt again.

It's sad the way the writers have wasted the legacy children (Rick, Bridget, Thomas, Steffy, Phoebe, Hope, RJ, Allie, Jack, Zende, etc.).

See, Rick and Bridget had compelling teen histories to pull stories from. The shit Bridget went through with Deacon was something that affected her character all the way till the end of her run on the show. We got callbacks to Rick's time with Amber and acknowledgement about how much Rick appreciates that he can raise Lizzie with a more stable mother.

Everyone after them? Pffffft. Complete wastes.

But then they wasted that setup, and wrote Bridget off the show.  Steffy and Hope have been stuck in SL hell since someone decided to write a boring retread of Ridge/Taylor/Brooke (which at one time was a good triangle, but lasted way past it's expiration date).  Phoebe and Allie are dead.  RJ, Zende and Jack are MIA.  Rick and Thomas alternate coming on the show every couple of years with the Thomas incarnations getting creepier each time.

The scene between Zoey and Xander could have been very dramatic if their acting didn’t suck so bad. Speaking of sucking we get Stuffy trying to act all cutesy.  Thomas still sucks balls especially in how he delivers his lines.

The dramatic scene works between Liam and Hope because Liam is doing all the heavy lifting and Hope is just hanging on by a thread.

The sad part is, she still got a far better shake than the other teens that came after her....which says a lot considering her love interests include Ridge and Nick, who basically became Liam with a spine. Phoebe and Aly barely had three and a half years on show between them before being killed off and nothing resembling character development.

Yes, they did. The producers tried to use "distant" shots but the height difference between AN and KM is so obvious that it didn't work.  That, and that KM has a different hairstyle with side-swept bangs. I was really surprised that the producer "went there," and why the sudden waxing nostalgic over the Puglia wedding? IIRC, that ended in disaster. I don't even remember why that version fell apart.

It's so bizarre to me that characters repeatedly state "Hope is ending her marriage" in such a dry, clinical way.  Like "Hope is going to the movies".  Same impact.  It's right up there with "conscious uncoupling" in the weirdness category.

Puglia was the wedding where Bill got Deacon to show up to delay Hope (which he did) and Liam thought she wasn't coming so he was going to leave and be with Steffy but somehow they ended up actually having the ceremony. There was also something about a letter but I don't remember how that factored into the nonsense.

But before they could sign the paperwork back in LA Hope found out Liam had been making out with Steffy when she was late to the wedding. So there was disaster right before the wedding and before it was legal but the actual ceremony and right after went well so that brief period is where all the footage is from.

As much as I have hated this PhoBeth story line, I’m interested to see how it is actually resolved. There are so many guilty people and so many innocent people, not to mention A CHILD WHO WAS RIPPED AWAY FROM HER PARENTS (the writers should be shot for even doing this awful, terrible story and subjecting the viewers to cray-cray Hope, etc) so I’m not sure who to cheer for and who to hope is shot dead in Eric’s living room under Quinn’s portrait. Geez. I’m exhausted by all of this.

As ByTor said, it ended up being invalid and before they filed papers with the LA courthouse like normal people, Hope found out Steffy and Liam made out when Liam thought she'd left him with a note Deacon wrote. And they once they made up two weeks later, Hope had another full ass wedding that fell apart because Liam showed up looking like ass after partying with Steffy.

Still a step up from marrying a guy because the intended groom was ten minutes late to the ceremony though😂
