I just did not like Whoopie's condescending tone of voice, I get a kick  out of seeing someone rattle the movie stah..

This is how I feel. Paula trying to equate Kanye threatening to run in the *next* election to Trump actually running in *this* election was really stupid. Only Whoopi can manage to be an absolute asshole even when I agree with her.

Just a few "Black" names of (evidently) no value....Oprah, Maya, Barack, (ok, Whoopi - not a black name but not mainstream either), Alfre, Tyra, Denzel, Cuba, Taye, Venus, Serena, Shaquille......and on and on and on.

I bet whoopi continues to skip the morning meetings. She's always so unprepared. Today she didnt even read the kelsey grammer quote correctly and didnt even know what it was about. It was pretty self-explanatory by looking at the picture.

She keeps asking people for a job but who would hire someone so incompetent?

And, she couldn't even figure out the bumper intro to HER OWN COMIC-CON segment.

She clearly doesn't read any of the cue cards pre show.  I am a presenter/trainer in real life.  My audience would never be bigger than 500 people.  My salary is what Whoopi sneezes. I actually prepare for my job, and believe me, I am a thousand times better than she is.  But, one prepares. Who reads the teleprompter on live television for the first time?

Gah, I messed up my quotes.  Anyways, a scorpion to me is a behind your leg stretch - start in arabesque and grab your leg and stretch it as high as you can - behind you.

I personally couldn't understand Whoopi going to a comic-con and not seeking out her Star Trek character, I thought the piece was really stupid, especially with her begging for yet another job.  Did anyone catch her on SVU?  It really wasn't that impressive of a performance, I thought, especially after seeing Whoopi "outrage" day after day here.

Whoopi is amusing. Always asking for a job but says stuff like this.

http://www.essence.com/2015/10/12/whoopi-goldberg-disagrees-viola-davis-emmy-speech-theres-plenty-opportunity

Exactly! Whoopie is so scared of calling out Hollywood for anything. I  am not surprised that she would disagree with Viola Davis. She is so out of touch..She admitted that before Barbara Walters came along with an offer from the view, she had no prospects...So how is Viola wrong, and it was worst in Whoopie's case because she has an Oscar....She needs to have several seats....

An unscripted moment during the Aladdin interview -

Gottfried to Whoopi: You're still on this show?

Whoopi: Yeah, that's why you're here.

Has Whoopi ever interviewed somebody without saying "It's kind of wonderful". . . or some version thereof such as "It's kind of/sort of fantastic"?

I think they would be there to advertise Aladdin even if Whoopi wasn't on the show--they'd be there to advertise a Disney release even if The View were replaced by something else entirely. I'm pretty sure they were on Good Morning, America, too. It was nice to see Menken, Freeman, Gottfried, etc. even if it was fluff segment. I braced myself because I knew Whoopi would be the interviewer when I saw them listed.

The relationships segment was really sad. Especially Raven there at the end, talking about how there'd be less divorce if we'd only learn from the Great Whoopi, I couldn't believe she said all that with a straight face. She's up there with Nicolle right now.

So then Whoopi's book is giving how not to do to do relationships advice then?  Well that makes much more sense.

Whoopi perhaps could lessen her eye problems if she adjusted her glasses to fit and not slip down. AND stop with the incessant touching of her face like covering her mouth while speaking. And hands fluttering endlessly around and in front of her face (when she is not pointing).

Did Whoopi just misunderstand the question from the woman in the audience about fighting fair, or is that the kind of dumbass circular "advice" her book is filled with?

I thought the question was about how to fight fair, but Whoopi responded with "why wouldn't you want to fight fair with someone you care about? Just fight fair then end it and go on."  It was just ... nothing. She didn't explain what fighting fair actually is.  Some people may not know.  Did she really think this woman had merely asked why fighting fair is necessary or something? Because.  That's just dumb.  ugh this show

Seriously, this crap with Whoopi and her book has to end and end NOW. I can barely get through her regularly scheduled lectures.  These special segments spotlighting her book and giving her extra time to bloviate at length are killing me.  Especially since she openly acknowledges she is bad at relationships and no longer has any interest in actually having one.  It's like my fat ass writing a diet book and then making people sit there while I deliver a speech on nutrition as I hork down a box of Little Debbies and drone on and on.  People should not write advice books about subjects they do not understand then sit there and lecture people on the subject when they clearly having no ability or interest in heeding their own words.

And while Paula's comment was stupid, you could tell she was pushing Whoopi's buttons, and Whoopi took the bait.  She was pissed!  And then she caught herself. But before she did, she was angry and reprimanding Paula, and telling her to look at Whoopi, like looking at Whoopi would help make sense of what she says.  Paula didn't back down, and did the whole, I have my eyes on you bit.  It was a telling exchange for these two.

I get the feeling that Paula knows something that we don't know...such as who the next moderator is going to be.  Hmmm.

I thought Joy coming back might be enough to get to back as a viewer, but it's not happening.  I did turn it on for the first little bit today, but it was all about their boobs and I lost interest quickly and turned it off.

And, though it was probably one of the baits that drew Joy back, I'm not interested in all the political guests and discussions.  As a Canadian (I sound like Nicole and her "as a Replican/as a mother" spiel LOL) I do have some interest in US politics, of course, but in small doses, not every day.

Not just an Oscar, I believe Whoopie  is one the select few who have the trifecta, Oscar, Grammy and Tony award.

Oh wait a minute, she has an Emmy too. So it's beyond worse, there is no word for it.

That where her "title" EGOT comes from:  Emmy, Grammy, Oscar & Tony.  She does, however, rest on her laurels a bit much.  Just sayin'.

Don't know where to put this but Michelle was on the panel on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore. She wasn't half bad. Did anyone else see?

I saw that too and it was like a different person showed up on Larry's show. I think because most of the comments and discussions on Wilmore's show are tinged with comedy that her style fit well in the discussion group.

I read somewhere that Michelle appeared on Joy's HLN show occasionally.

But I missed those shows because I am not fond of her taste in comics. OTOH - Joy had nothing to do with hiring Michelle......Joy was still fired at the time, imo.

I think that the chair at the other end of the table is cursed

.

I think it's more likely a combination of things.  One ABC probably doesn't want to invest in someone with actual talent since the View isn't guaranteed to come back after this year (as far as we know anyways). And two, why would anyone worthwhile want to be on this show anyways?  We've all heard the behind the scenes stories about what a toxic place it is to work.  We have all seen how quickly co-hosts come and go.  We have all seen the backlash the erupts when a co-host says something that offends the audience.  If I was in the broadcasting business I would want to steer clear of the View.

First off... who is this TI?? A rapper giving advice on who should lead the country??  But what got me is how Whoopi and Raven thought he is so sensitive that before they criticized him they had to tell him how much they love him and how great he is.

Obviously he has a poor opinion of women.... so why do they coddle him so much?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

take your own advice Whoopi.... if you are going to bitch about how Hollywood is.... then stop bitching and do something about it yourself.

As a Libertarian, live and let live and Don't Tread on Me,  I really agreed with the discussion on how the Democrat candidates treated each other during the debates (although hearing how Sanders turns Joy on wasn't necessary) with respect.  I'm so sick and tired in any election when the only things candidates do are rip each other apart.  I want to hear issues, know their stance on issues and I don't want to hear backbiting.  So, yeah to the View for pointing that out about the debates.

The only thing I miss about Bill Gedde is that he TRIED to get the co-hosts to not talk over each other.  These women never allow one another to finish a thought and they always screech over each other.  STFU ladies and let everyone get their point across.  Idiots.

Paula is really useless.  Nicole was better as the conservative voice.

So, I take it they didn't talk about the woman nimrodic, greedy, narcissistic maroon who sued her 8-year old nephew for $127K because he hugged her soooo hard, she fell down and broke her wrist? Thank goodness the jury found for the nephew, who is now 12. This piece of fuckery has been ALL OVER social media since yesterday afternoon.

Tom Hiddleston is very attractive. And very few interruptions while he was speaking, nice. I had planned to see Crimson Peak anyway, so pleasant surprise he's part of the cast.

I like that the whole panel isn't afraid to respond to Whoopi anymore. Michelle on the Jennifer Lawrence topic, Raven on racism last week, Joy and Paula regularly. It makes me believe they know something the rest of us don't, which people were guessing earlier in this topic. I was hoping perhaps someone would bring up Sanders being asked about socialism v. capitalism (and Hillary's response, too)--that seems like something Paula would've started.

The awkward silence that follows every time Whoopi talks about enjoying whatever View you happen upon... Happy to see everyone there thinks that sounds as stupid as I think it does.

Yes, he is. It was his charm and whatever you call it, that made me love Loki, a character I despised in the comics and 'toons. I just want to have his babies.

I'm not a fan of rap (probably too old), but I know who TI is.  I saw this reported on TMZ.  I think TI was on the radio...either his show or a friend's--two friends having an on-air discussion. The people in charge on TMZ showed surprise that he'd say something like that publicly. One of their staff members defended TI and said he didn't mean that (how would SHE know?)...that it's not like him--he's "sensitive."  Her bosses told her, essentially, she was off base.  She will not back down.  I don't know how she got/keeps a job there--she's extremely uninformed.

Whoopie is very angry that the ladies are no longer submitting to her..She does not like to be contradicted about anything..Once again Whoopie was in a tizzy because somebody dared to defy Hollywood and call them out..Jennifer Lawrence has a right to talk about parity for women, when it comes to money..First Viola  about lack of opportunities for women of color and now Jennifer about sexism..What is wrong with Whoopie? she is truly an insufferable bitch..I don't like how she treats Paula and Paula is not afraid of her..I get a kick out of that...Not everybody is Rosie, Whoopie....You cannot intimidate everybody off the show..I hate it when she is pontificating all of the time..Why do the producers allow her to get away with it...It  is really off-putting..

Who reads the teleprompter on live television for the first time?

It's very simple, Bannana...one who declares she has always been dyslexic, one who is right about everything--no matter how wrong she is, one who is ADORED by every celebrity guest who walks on the set.  She don't need no steenkin' preparation; she's WHOOPI!.

I don't know if I'm suddenly developing hearing issues, but it seemed to me that Whoopi was, consistently, a thousand decibels louder than everyone today.  Even without cross-talk.  Everyone else used a normal speaking voice and she was loud and hostile for no particular reason.

And I liked Michelle calmly enlightening Whoopi that young girls right now have no idea about the "60 year old conversation" about equal pay etc. and Jennifer Lawrence is an excellent person to float that out there.  I'm around elementary/tween girls (and have one) and they've all read the books and absolutely adore her, so….

I actually mentioned her habit while watching the most recent Shark Tank.  It featured NERDWAX, a product to apply to glasses' nose "things" (I don't recall what they're called).  The stuff keeps one's glasses from sliding down.

Whoopi is a complete bitch to Paula.  The way she sneered and turned her nose up when she was passing out the hats was deplorable.

It really was. Yes, I may be sensitive because I am -- my avatar gives it away -- a lifelong Cubs fan. But if it were a New York basketball team, Whoopi would be screaming in ecstasy. Something out of her interest scope?  Sneer, scorn, stay silent, don't put on the hat, change the subject as soon as possible. She acted like Paula had brought a turd and slipped it into the punchbowl at a garden party.

She was also vile on the subject of Jennifer Lawrence bringing up pay discrepancy. Because it's not a new subject, it's not okay for Jennifer Lawrence to mention it? Because Whoopi did it first, no one else can be upset by it?  Whoopi would NOT shut up and talked continuously through everyone else. If I'd been Michelle, I would have put my hand over her mouth. Her ego is totally run amuck. She not only will stifle any conversation that differs from her opinion, she'll also talk over the person so the opposing viewpoint can hardly be heard.  She's not interested in any viewpoint except her own, and the fact that she's not even willing to listen when someone else talks is very telling.  Rude and close-minded, isn't that a great combination for a moderator of a panel show called The View?

For what it's worth, I thought Michelle's point that someone young voicing concern about pay discrepancy would reach the ears of a new audience was a good one. I guess Whoopi wants to be the spokesperson for the world.  She is reaching new heights of unbearability. Time to write TPTB at The View again.

Did she? I admit I lose focus during sports talk, so I didn't see all of her bitchiness towards Paula. I'm sorry, but that's just vile and disgusting meanness. I would hate to have to work with her everyday, goodness' sake. At least Michelle and Paula seem like they'd be amiable despite their (more often than not) dumb opinions. This is why I was never a fan of Elisabeth or Sherri. They seemed like they'd be hateful even to their fans.
