I was watching some Wendy Clips and she was like how Whoopi wants out of her contract and this is why she acts the way she does.. if that's the case, why not just quit? or work out something so she can be a casual co-host, (so she can get paid) rather than drag down the show?

If she quits, they don't pay her.  And we know Whoopi stands for nothing if not her paycheck(s).  She's still butt-hurt over losing the Slim Fast gig ten years ago.

Maybe that's why I don't mind her - I 'kinda' quit paying attention or even watching more than a segment after RO left and Whoopi took over the entire show.   I do remember when Nicolle decided she was a Whoopi SuperFan though - it was after Whoopi attacked RO on the racism topic and RO was leaving.  THEN, Nicolle became Whoopi's bff.  I just chalked it up to trying to keep the peace and not get on The Captain of Ship's bad side and I hated that. 

 

In hindsight, I can't really fault Nicolle for dumbing down her persona at the table - this is the show that asked Sherri "The earth is 5K years old" Shepherd to come back.   One person can't elevate this hot mess alone - just ask RO.

Whoopi has insulted me so much as a viewer that if I can help in any way to get her off the air, I'll do it. Plus, it still works my nerves the way she was allowed to basically bully Rosie O'Donnell off the show, Rosie being the only informed mind this show has had in over two years.

That's what I thought too, Medicine Crow. All of a sudden she's an expert on the Kardashians?  The point about her is that either she "plays dumb" about many things or she's really living in a bubble with little knowledge of the outside world besides Republican issues and her three year old.

 

On a positive note, I think she's cut down on the cackles and the shrillness in the last couple of months.

Ahh fuck.  I get who this is directed at.  Me.  Shit.  I feel like garbage now.  My stomach just dropped as I read this.  Because when I wrote that comment above about people misspelling their kids' names it was 100% coming from me and my own personal experience of having a sister-in-law who has done this with all 3 of her kids; with the most recent one being born just last month with the poor kid's name having 2 Es at the end of it instead of the usual Y.  And it's a boy.  So that is where my name spelling snark was coming from.  It was not at all being directed to any of you guys.  I didn't even notice how it was being spelled here by other posters.  I just thought that the fact that even Jezebel spelled her name wrong after her being in the public eye for so long just proved my point about my crazy sister-in-law and the crazy name spelling.   SORRY to all of you. Well, thanks anyway for the fire drill.  It wasn’t all for naught…we’re having breakfast for dinner tonight so we each just had a piece of bacon with our martinis – a Pig on the Rocks – fantastic!  I always shook my head at the trendy foodie people raving over this, but something about the taste of icy cold vodka and fatty bacon is, indeed, delicious.  And, to keep this on topic, I will back up my statement with further in-depth research, unlike the cast of the View does.

I cannot agree more that Rosie O was indeed bullied by Whoopi. From day 1!

WG saw RO as a direct threat in her abilities to moderate, compassion, knowledge and creativity to the show that she presented....especially when WG was out for several weeks due to a back injury and RO took her place as moderator.

All through this RO was experiencing family problems and not an ounce of support from WG.

I was going to come in and say that on one with a working brain cell would think this was anything but a light bulb moment for Whoopi. So disingenuous. It's too bad no one out there in the "media" managed to find ALL the times when Abrams has been on the show before where statute of limitations has been discussed--not about the Cosby case, but others.  Richard did an awesome job with that video and all outlets should play this in a continuous loop.  Because that interview was bullshit, horseshit...just shitshitshit and frankly fucking insulting to me and I'm sure all of y'all and anyone else with a thinking brain.

That fake/unfunny comment, "I'm sweating," was okay one time...but it got as tired as Whoopi's boobs that (apparently) are always dragging on the floor if she doesn't kick them out of the way.  Let's be original, ladies.  Create a one-liner, buy a few...but spout them and leave 'em.  The constant sucking up to Whoopi didn't work that well, did it?  Rub her back, hug her...agree with her 99% of the time.  Whoopi seemed to love it.  It was just creepy for me.

I long for the less glib days when it was okay to act like meeting someone for the first time, was meeting someone for the first time.  I know it is more a "star thing" in the sense that they already feel they know the person through their public persona.  Yet I know of people many times prior to actually meeting them for the first time.  Heck I got to shake President Obama's hand and have a few words (a few a very few).  I already felt I knew in some ways.  Imagine his and the Secret service's surprise when a 200 pound vain to the gym I go young man suddenly tried to hug and double cheek kiss the President?\

 

I hate that the hug has become the new (well not so new now) handshack.  Was it Ellen Degeneres that started it with every guest?  I know the View followed and it was so stupid watching someone go down the line with complete strangers pretending it was the Bubbe line at a Bar Mitzvah.  I can't think who is was, but it was a woman and she shook everyone's hand and every single dummie, even after the first polite rebuff went in for a hug and kiss on the cheek.  And looked like four geese who had their first foie-gras to be feeding.  Hasselbeck was still on the job when it happened. 

 

If I was a guest I could see so much upset at my "rudeness" for leaning back from such a hug with a "let's not and say we did".

For me at least partof the problem is I think the segues probably are meant to make sense,   But I think they are written for her and she just reads them with no understanding or caring of the matter.  So her inflection and timing can be off and makes a jumble of where the pun or entendre is suppose to be.  I know there is one where she clearly read the wrong word.  Not like Beer instead of Deer but something that was part of another segment and I remember as the camera pulled back the others were looking at her like they were worried she had a stroke or something.

How exciting..... I have had a few Presidential interactions..... I never get to brag

In 1992 I took a picture with one hand while shaking Bill Clinton's hand at Ohio State University.

In 2008 I got to shake Barack Obama's hand at a Toledo Rally

in 2012 I got to shake his hand in Toledo again.

I was also a volunteer at a Rally in Bowling Green...... I didnt get to meet the President but I did have access to the entire venue.

Then the best moment of 2012 was when I got a phone call from President Obama.... he was on Airforce One  at the beginning of the "Campaign Extravaganza" .... It was a conference call of all the Neighborhood Team Leaders..... but still it was extremely cool.
