So nobody notices Divya doing surgery on a bench while across the street two police cars and multiple bystanders gather around a car with a baby in the back seat? And why would Boris build a Bat Cave in the hospital when he has a perfectly good ginormous estate where he can do anything in private? It may take me a while to get back in the mood for this show.

That was all over the place last night.

First the good:

- Evan and Paige continue to be cute and sweet. I knew they'd both decide they were ready for a baby, but it was nice watching them come to it together.  The new house is perfect, and the snake was funny.

- The proposal scenery was beautiful and perfectly timed.  Hank was wonderful, which brings me to the bad...

Now the bad:

- I hated the non-answer turn-down.  What woman in her right mind would turn down the handsome and sweet Hank? Especially after spending so much time obviously happy with him. They didn't fight, they didn't have huge differences... I just didn't get it, other than that the show wants to keep Hank free so every female can flirt with him.  It's tired and old and I'm ready for him to be an adult.

- The super-secret-spy-cave is just ridiculous and silly and doesn't fit this show... but to me the Boris stuff has always been the weakest part of the show, so I guess it's not surprising that it continues to annoy.

- Divya leaving her child in the car to go take care of a guy across the street.  No mother in her right mind would leave her child like that. I know it's been years since my baby was small, and back then we didn't have the awareness that people do these days, but still, I would never have locked my kid in a car and walked across the street.  Just unsnap the car seat and take it with you! DUH!  It just didn't make any sense.  And then, of course, the guy disappears, so now we have to have the drama of the search.   I guess the writers are running out of things to do with Divya, and this was all they could come up with, but it just isn't realistic that an intelligent woman would do that.

I'll stick around for Evan and Paige, but I might be fast-forwarding through the rest until this show dies.

Damn, I forgot this was starting last night...fortunately, USA airs it 47 times before the next new episode, so I should be able to catch it.  BTW, I've been back home on Long Island the past couple of weeks, and saw signs for some of their filming locations.  Didn't run into any of the cast this time though.

I'm a bit ticked Charlotte turned down (kinda, in the most awkward way possible) Hank's proposal. I get that their relationship wasn't that far along and she was adjusting to her surgery but I'm not happy they broke up-- I like Charlotte and I liked that she made Hank happy. So boo to that. I don't really want another season of Hank dates all these ladies he doesn't have chemistry with.

Liked Evan and Paige's storyline. I thought it was handled well. They are cute and I love their house. I agree that the baby stuff was predictable but I thought it was handled well. Personally, I maybe could have used a little more freak out over the unplanned pregnancy (even for a married couple, that's scary) but I did like the rest. The snake was hilarious-- glad the house didn't burn down.

I saw the "baby trapped in the car" storyline coming a mile away. And it was dumb-- and of course Rafa is going to use this against her in the custody battle. But seriously, given that Sashi is still in her infant seat, why didn't she just grab it and run across the street? Plus, 911 would have a record of the call she made for the ambulance. And I'm with Good Queen Jane-- no one saw Divya on the bench with the skater?!

Of course, Boris would have a secret lair in the hospital, because that's not ridiculous at all. Whatever happened to that shark from season 1?

I like Evan and Paige being a team and not sniping all the time. Not every couple wants a baby though. It is kind of a dumb plot.

Not as dumb as Divya. If I see a baby alone in a car, I look around. Oh there's some lady over there, I'll ask her. Really.

Then Divya just flies off the handle. ”Officer, please let me explain myself. Check with your dispatch to verify my story. ” Problem solved. Who doesn't know HankMed by now anyway? Hank and Divya are ubiquitous by now.

Evan mentioned he has Jill's job.

Oh yes, I was thinking that right before he said it and it scared me a little... but maybe they have to say her name three times before she appears...

I would actually be ok with Jill coming back as long as they didn't push a Jill/Hank romance. They had no chemistry together and it was BORING. I liked Jill a lot more as Divya's friend and actually, I think Divya could use that these days.

Wouldn't Divya have seen the cops when they approaches the car? It looked like a crowd was there, so it seemed like someone saw the baby and called the cops. Shouldn't Divya have seen them and called out?

My DVR cut off while Boris was video chatting with someone...did anything important get said?

Sorry, Divya should have known better.  Either take the baby with you, or just call 911 immediately and let them deal with it.  It's supposed to be summertime, the windows in the car are closed, and she leaves her baby in the car?  Most likely it was a setup, but she fell right into the trap.

She probably should have taken the baby, but they did show her lowering the windows in the car before she crossed the street (I'm fairly certain).

It's not enough, unfortunately. The car was in the shade but even if Divya had opened all the windows instead of just the back two the car could still overheat because there's no real airflow.

To help convince people that doing this is a bad thing, a veterinarian did an experiment where he sat in a hot car with all the windows partially open for 30 minutes. It wasn't pretty.

1. The stores probably have cameras out front - it IS the Hamptons, after all.

2. Boris' sharks decided to go live in the intro to Shark Tank

Divya should have no problem with the baby in car issue. Besides all the other things posters have mentioned, she swiped her credit card to pay the meter, which will show exactly when she got there and that she was in eyesight of the car during the emergency. But of course we will have months of child endangering and custody drama to go through. I really hate this storyline as leaving kids in a locked car is a real problem, but if one of the show's main characters does it, it will be considered okay and everyone overreacting.

Shoot, all they need to do is run a DNA test on the gum. The kid took off when the cops came, so I bet he has some sort of record. They can find him. Div did some dumb stuff, though. The baby scare thing was lame and not keen on Evan having a kid. He needs to grow up first. Hank is back in the dating pool. Who cares? I'm not so sure I can watch this show anymore.

Campbell Scott looks better with facial hair but his British accent continues to be second rate.

It's not a British accent -- he's speaking English with an educated Swiss or German accent. As a European, Boris would have learned British vocabulary and idiom.

A snake-in-the-house PSA:

Just set a trash can down on its side, close by.  Snakes are shy and will go right in.  Then you can smack the lid on and run the whole thing outside.  Trap & release!

I used my largest 50-gallon container last summer when it happened to me, but I've been told even a paper bag will work.  EEK.

"Boris's Bat Cave."  HAHAHAHA, good one!

They're scary if you don't know if they're poisonous or not. It was a weird thing for the show though. I would think if you're buying a house though, that the inspection would have uncovered that.

Honestly snakes are just not that scary.  A nearby zoo or herpetology club would be happy to come trap the slimy snakes and give then a good home.

Ex-snake owner PSA: they're not slimy but they are stupid. And beautiful.

A few thoughts:

1. Almost all the main characters have a seriously protruding schnoz.

2. Not getting the comments about Hank being so handsome.

3. Couldn't they find a baby that was more believably half Indian and whatever her father is? That baby has some very kinky hair! And I know something about this topic.

4. Divya gets arrested with a shopping bag in her hand, but she couldn't take her baby out of the car?

Yes, many of us saw the Divya story line a mile off.  So the show  got its two cents in about the dangers of a baby in the car. Good idea to cover but drop it there.  They'll drag this  through the whole season and I don't really care!

Couldn't agree more. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all, but I can usually appreciate someone's good looks even if they might not be doing it for me. I just don't see it in Hank at all.

I'm not comfortable with this storyline at all because I think Divya was dead wrong (full disclosure:  I can't stand this character).  She had her back to the car as she was helping skateboarder.  With the windows rolled down anyone could reach in and take the baby, and it wasn't clear how much time had passed.  All we know is that when she started to cross the street, the traffic was such that she couldn't see her car and was surprised to find the police near it.  What if they hadn't been police?  Is this going to be wrapped up as no big deal because she was close by and a good samaritan?  Her back was to her child and her car was out of view; the police shouldn't care why the baby was left unattended on a hot summer day.  Also, considering all the real-life issues with police confrontations and the admonitions to follow police orders, are we supposed to think the police were overreacting and shouldn't arrest her when she kept advancing to get her baby back?  I haven't watched the next episode, but I am not sure they can resolve this issue in a way that will make everyone happy.

I didn't think that much time passed at all either when i watched it. What was ridiculous was that it was nearly right across the street, and no one at all saw Divya responding to a clear emergency, and secondly, it strains credulity in season 7 that Divya and Hank aren't well known by the police and other first responders given how they've nearly literally treated everyone in the Hamptons. Or that Divya didn't immediately call 911 first before treating the kid. I don't think 'contrived' even begins to describe this plot. At least with Boris, there's sharks sometimes.

I understand the concern over leaving the child in the car and agree.  I do dread the custody plot that will drag out through the season - boring 'cause we know how it ends.

Can I complain about Paige wearing white jeggings with a crop top on what would have been day 2 of her period? Anyone else bothered by that? I already hate her for having such awesome clothes and bags, please don't let her get away with that outfit! I know it's Paige, but where are the pajamas or sweatpants? They haven't even unpacked.

I like dating Hank. I don't know why I didn't like Charlotte. Boris is weird, so I'm not thrown off by him doing weird stuff.

Why was Muggsy Bogues making a cameo?

Better than a Kardashian.

Never liked the Charlotte character and am glad she will be (presumably) gone.

They said Jeremiah went to Philadelphia to interview candidates for the research lab.  Wish he had stopped by my place while he was here ;-)  (He's my favorite character, followed by Evan.  His run up the stairs, though predictable, was hilarious.  The actor has just the right touch).

One of the things I love about this show is the clothing and location porn, but the fact that Paige is always, always wearing towering high heels, with every single outfit, bugs the crap out of me!  How unrealistic, not to mention uncomfortable.  I know it's a TV show, and everything nowadays on TV and in the movies is 'who are you wearing?', but it does take me out of the moment a bit.  Divya is occasionally an offender of stiletto syndrome, but they seem to have gotten away from that, thankfully, since her job keeps her walking around and on her feet a lot.

I've always found both Marc Feuerstein and Paulo Costanzo very attractive, but that's just me.

But the real question is, where's my Jeremiah?!

He's acting on Broadway in the Larry David show, Fish In the Dark. I saw it back in May. Edited by GussieK
