Watching old seasons on Hulu - up to the "Naked Wasted" episode... just as revolting as the first time I saw it. So awful... Tamra... Awful. Ryan. Awful - tho I blame his terrible upbringing for his awfulness... like mother like son... Thank goodness nothing happened, but it was soooo close to happening.

So today they've been showing eps from Gretchen's  first season. One of the ones I saw was when the girls went to Vegas and Gretch ordered Vicki's drink which pissed her off to no end.

Now they have on the one where Brianna tells her mom she's going to join the army and Vicki points out, rightfully, that she's doing this cause Coby just broke up with her.

The scene with Jeana moving Kara to Berkeley and commenting on all the "bummers" in the park #tonedeaf

I'd really like to catch up on the lives of the kids.  I  loved how they used to to mention them in the season closing comments.  Wish the show still focused more on the families and less on the staged fighting.

Awful. In an early episode (might have been the first we met the daughters), Lynn and Frank have a cocktail party and Raquel is soooo aware of the camera (I think the phrase is "camera-hungry eyes). Lynn had publicly stated she wanted the show to be a launching pad for Raquel and Alexa and their eventual TV careers. Well that really worked out....

Raquel was so unlikable.  Lynne was crazy if she thought anyone would see them and say ,we needs  those 2  on a show lol.

Both Raquel and Alexa were awful!  Lynn did a real number on them - she totally spoiled them and also taught them to be hyper critical of their bodies.  They were both so emotional and had zero self esteem.

So in my rewatch, my two favorite scenes - Vicki getting hit in the head with a football.  It really is amazing.  My other "favorite" scene is when Tamra was first introduced, and she and Simon are out at a club, probably a strip-mall club, and they are frantically dancing, really REALLY trying to be sexy.  Simon is wearing work clothes, and tamra is wearing a white cocktail dress.  They are totally overdressed for any strip-mall bar!  And they are awful dancers!  They are herky jerky trying to be hot.  It is really funny.

watching the season where Alexis joins the mix - up to the episode where they are planning a "girls trip" to Florida - where Taliban Jim and Simon insist upon going. In a talking head TJim  makes some comment about Donn "allowing" Vicki to travel without him. Sweet baby jeebuz - "Allow" - I honestly don't know how Alexis lasted so long with him unless the whole "I am man - hear me roar" schtick was indeed an act. But I doubt it. Gosh Jim was soooo friggen gross. Also. yet another season of Tamra being a jerk. And Vicki too. Vicki was never likable in my opinion, I really wish they get her and Tamra off the show... but I suppose they have to hold on to one of them... if so - keep Tamra, dump Vicki...

Ugh the segments with the awful try-hard Keough kids and the Curtain’s trashy spawn were some of the worst parts of the early OC seasons. I’m actually glad they don’t focus on the kids much nowadays.

Haha I know exactly what you’re talking about! It was her trademark, button on a punchline, where she juts her chin out and bucktooth's.  Physical comedy from Trailer Tam, good times. It bugged me for seasons, wonder if Simon got it in the divorce. 

I just listened to new Juicy Scoop w her and Shannon and wowzer Tamra was sucha bitch. She was drunk and particularly mean/insecure/paranoid? She completely blew Shannon’s spot, naming guys she’s dating, etc.  Later they’re trying to pronounce Keough (jeanna) and Tamra cuts Shannon off screaming,  “how would you know?! You were a FAN!”. Just an aggressively screeching mean girl. Shannon perfectly ignored her but it made me think of the famous finale fight in the limo w Simon. According to T, when her and SB were filming S9 scene about David’s email, SB was in super-fan mode saying the limo fight got highest ratings and maybe that was part of her storming over to Heather’s for a blow-up. I forget, but this is definitely something T hits on when picking on Shannon.  Anyways, also some gossip about Jeanna and Alexis for anyone interested.

Definitely were both at Surf & Sand so it's possible.

I've always thought it interesting and a bit odd that they seem so agreeable to filming. Really, the chain (such as it is) as a whole does, yet it runs so opposite what it feels like at any of them.

Because we also saw Alexis and Jim at the RB Inn at least two different seasons also, right? (Once w/ the kids and once without I think). And they are related properties.

And as you said, Meghan at Surf and Sand (actually I think they were there more than once also, as well as a lunch with her and Heather there, too, I think) plus of course LB, thought that makes a ton of sense since that's where S&S actually is.

PSA For anyone who's coming to the area and looking for a nice place to stay on the water, Surf and Sand really is great! And always crazy quiet in my experience - though I can imagine during prom season that may not be the case!

Thanks for the one free pass! I think the brunette in that pic is Jeana Keough's daughter Kara who ended up marrying a pro baseball player. She landed a good one. Has kids with him. Hope it all works out for them

Briana was an OC angel.  That I do remember.  I think she realized it was bullshit before The Who Drives the Hummer drama, or the Old Pervs watching Young girls try on Bikinis and  bounced.  Probably doesn’t use it on her resume.  The knockerbocker girl probly does.
