LMAO, I love the thread title.  I feel like it's obviously very tongue-in-cheek and don't get the overreaction.

I can't stand his clubhouse persona, it comes off as him thinking he's funnier and more charming than he actually is.  Then when he tries to get all serious at the reunions, he wonders why these women don't take him seriously.

And if he mispronounces 'gif' as "GIFF" again, I will start praying that his dog takes a nice, wet shit all over that fugly WWHL rug.

My biggest irritation with Andy's behavior via a vis the Housewives is how his clear favoritism starts shaping a season's narrative and definitely the reunion. He'll double down on accusations of homophobia when it's the Giudices, but basically ignore Nene's own questionable language. He's reinforced this idea Bethenny is the injured party by allowing her to show up time and time again on WWHL. He gave Kim Richards and Brandi Glanville free reign to asshole all over the Beverly Hills with nary a word to check their bullshit. I believe that every housewife deserves equal excoriation for their ridiculousness. If Andy can't give an equal insight and critique of their behavior, then he's useless as a reunion host and as a producer.

As despicable and misogynistic as Andy is, I think there are plenty of other human beings that are more deserving of the Satan title. If Andy is as horrific as all that, it's a damn shame that he's successful, wealthy, etc. Karma is obviously saving him for last. And he's not the only one. There's several politicians on that list as well.

I admit that I have not watched WWHL in quite some time but used to get a big kick out of it. Especially as he started having more and more A-listers. I think their participation gives the show a certain cachet. And some are pretty fun being a bit more off their guard.

I listened to both of his audio books and good lord, it was almost like listening to a breathless almost teenager who does that annoying uptalk thing.

But he has led quite the life. I had no idea he was so friendly with all of those A-listers. I was not expecting a sentence anything like, So I met up with John Mayer at Barbra Streisand's house. And on and on.

I don't think he's satan. He's giving a lot of viewers what they want to see. Though some of those numbers appear to be dwindling.

I can't believe he implied Theresa didn't approve Melissa's visit to the prison. I don't know if it's true or not, and don't care. I stopped watching New Jersey a while ago. Real families fighting isn't fun. Andy was a jerk. Trying to stir the pot, why?

Melissa looked hurt. I was never a Melissa fan but I felt bad for her.

I caught that also imjagain. I thought that was particularly nasty of Andy to do to Melissa on WWHL. He said it more than once to her that Teresa did not approve her for a visitor at jail. His voice was emphatic as he repeated what he believed. I agree Melissa looked caught off guard. Andy can be a Nasty know it all at times....shades of Bethenny!

Whoa!  I just noticed this thread.

I can't help but express my objection to Andy or anyone else being called Satan.  It's offensive on so many levels.

Aside from that, everyone that's on the HW's forums is here because they they enjoy watching.  Love him or hate him, there wouldn't be any HWs on Bravo if it wasn't for Andy.

Andy decide to engage Gloria Steinem in a RH discussion.  His mistake is he gives the fakest description of the show ever and she calls him on it.  http://www.bravotv.com/watch-what-happens-live/the-after-show  All I could think of is what show was he describing where the theme was the strong friendships between these women.

that was awesome.  She totally schooled him, and it exposed everything that's evil about Andy, and ugly about what the HW shows have become.  (I feel like the first 2-3 seasons of RHOC were so much less awful and more enjoyable-- you just saw the ladies with their families, children, and lives.  Fighting was not the point of the show.  Then I think the production companies changed ... or something.. and Andy took the helm, upon which all the RH shows became a la Jerry Springer.)

I think Andy has major conflicts about women (obvs starting with his mother), and he's obsessed with working out his issues with them by portraying the worst in them-- middle aged women as superficial, pathetic arm-pieces who are bitterly catty toward their so-called friends.

My nickname for him is Gay Satan.

Personally, I think he watched Dynasty and got off on one too many catfights from that show, and is trying to recreate all the cattiness from that show in a "real life" production. He probably creams himself every time 2 of the women on any of the shows in the franchise start screeching at each other and come thisclose to trading blows.

I feel the same way about RHNY. But, once Teresa flipped that table, this franchise changed, and not for the better.

He may as well just hand out boxing gloves to the women at reunion shows.

I suspect early on he had a woman as a boss who he absolutely hated.  I noticed he really has some deep scorn for pretty much all the casts of these shows no matter how much he buddies around with them.  The last reunions, especially the Beverly Hills and NYC one was glaring how much he must want to diminish these women if not women in general.  Note how garish each and every woman looked (Bethenny no surprised looked the best of all but even she looked 'made up') In fact the BH women looked like they were on a early seventies film set about high priced hookers.  Then when the camera turns to Cohen, he is smooth and nicely and evenly tan.  His makeup is flawless under those lights. How is it that they all looked bad and he, in pretty much makeup, looks normal?

I read Most Talkative and am now finishing Superficial.  He seems to be very popular in the entertainment field.  He is close friends with Jimmy Fallon, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelo, SJP, Liam Neeson etc.  This makes me like these people less.

I am going back and forth from he is very honest to he is a complete idiot.  His dog - an abused dog that is not doing well in his care.  By care I mean actually pretty much living with someone else most of the time.  The dog, by his own admission, has bit many people and is pooping all over his house.  Why would anyone give an abused dog to someone who is on the road all the time?  He will ask questions to the reader of what he is doing wrong.  YOU SHOULD NOT OWN A DOG!

His not understanding the terms "white privilage" or "cultural appropriation" and going on and on about it.  He actually states in his book that he went to a black gay club and was surprised to find them "cool" and wants to know if the reader knows if black people are cool and why he didn't know this.  I could go on and on about the history of rock and roll, the Rolling Stones etc and their adaptations and respect for black people or I could just walk out my front door and say hello to my neighbors.  To be alive, in NYC, and not know about basic tenets of different cultures is shocking to me.  I can see why Ripa and he are friends and why Michael Strahan was treated the way he was.  Fear not, Bevy Smith is schooling him on the dos and don'ts of society of the new millennia.

I am enjoying the book, love the gossip and am aghast at his honesty about his complete lack of self-awareness.

ETA:  His telling of his drug use is alarming since it is current and not past.  He even describes how he ships drugs via air to NY.  Does he not know that even though states have decriminalized pot the feds have not.  Obama was not to interested in getting involved in feds breaking up and arresting those who are in the trade in decriminalized states but Trump is all in and we can expect to see more feds raiding around the country.  To offer up the idea that Cohen sends his pot via mail as a current method is just ludicrous.  Just like Kandi and Teresa were shocked the feds got them I think he will be shocked too.

Loved your whole post. To the called out section: what would happen if he cried medical necessity? not that he has one but I think alot of people say they do. Would that give him an end run around the law i wonder. Maybe he'd have to pay a fine.

Well here is the law in NY state and like all states with medical licenses it's for residents only.  This is one of the best laid out laws I've seen.  My state also has medical laws for pot but the state clearly states your license does not supersede any job drug testing.  States like Colorado with general use laws are subject to legal blow back from the feds.  To ship pot through the mail from say California to NYC is just asking for trouble.

Does he really say that he doesn't understand white privilege? Just when I think he can't get any grosser. I find him and his friendship with Anderson Cooper so creepy and gross.

Yes, to be simplistic.  He uses many words, but yes is the basic answer.  His books are well written and interesting.  His last one goes into more about him and his current friends and their bubble.

What's "creepy and gross" about their friendship? I knew they were friends but have only seen them together once, just having a conversation.

And now we have the unraveling of Kathy Griffin and her Andy Cohen blast. Enjoying watching the entertainment industry turn on each other. Can't happen to a better bunch of experts on how "we" should live our lives. Andy seems unfazed . . . for now.
