S05.E11: It's Just A Scratch

I just read a recap for Episode 12 (not the one that will air tonight, but the Feb 3rd episode), and the description is the following:

 

Drama Queens

Lisa Vanderpump's adopted son, Max, decides he wants to take a DNA test; Brandi and Kyle visit Kim. 

 

Extremely interesting. I didn't think we were done with the Max storyline just yet.

On social media you often times see pictures of Kyle and Kathy with other women in social events.  With Kathy and Kim what I have seen are holiday and wedding photos.  I don't know if Kathy is any closer to Kim than Kyle or if she just has a different role.  Obviously Kyle has been wise to avoid either sisters' parenting advice but I think Kim is more of a stay at home than social person like her sisters.  Brandi popping up because she attended one party at the Hiltons with Kim does not make her an insider and at the time of this driveway melee she had zero invites to a Hilton party.

 

Kyle has another side of the family to spend holidays with in Mauricio and his sister Sharon's family.  Although Mauricio's parents are divorced they do try and make it easy on Mauricio and Sharon to attend events without friction.  Estella and Eduardo may not be as forgiving of Kim's antics towards Mauricio as Kyle has been.

Regarding Kim and her sobriety, she came back the show, becomes BFF's with Brandi who is no stranger to a bottle of wine, after rehab stayed with her sister Kathy who is no stranger to a bottle of wine...what ever happened to removing yourself from the people, places and things that triggers your habit?  If she is in therapy for after care she is learning nothing.  Does she attend meetings? 

 

I hope she is not mad at Kyle for setting up a wine tasting, (of course any excuse to be mad at someone other than herself).

I'm curious, did Brandi attend the holiday party a couple months ago or 2013 holiday party? Thanks if anybody knows. If it was "13" holiday who cares. If it's "14" holiday party I might think worse of Kathy. Not I think much about her anyway.

Add Kris Jenner and I think David Foster ex wife. They were all friends. What a classy crowd,huh?

I might be wrong about DF ex she is Bruce Jenner's ex too. So it is still very tangled. :)

Kathy had OJ trial parties that included the prosecutors and FR. I am not sure how well she knew Nicole/OJ or if she even did know them. I think she knew people the Simpson's knew, like Jenner or it was a status thing/party. She met FR because of her testifying at the trial and introduced her to the rest of the family, both Kyle/Kim attended some of these parties as well.

Wasn't Kim the sister that uprooted her life and moved in with her mother to care for her while she was ill, and later dying from breast cancer?  I'm pretty sure Kim was very close to her mom.  She died 2002, so Kim still had young kids, but IIRC her mom didn't want to leave the house where she was living, so Kim dropped everything and moved to wherever it was, stopped her life, and cared for her. 

 

She's really had a lot of horrible things happen to her in her life.  Now I'm feeling sympathy for her again.  Her true love murdered.  Now caring for another person dying of cancer, I bet that is bringing up some very awful and sad memories too.  Working nearly every day of her childhood, and yes, Kyle worked, but not nearly as much, and Kyle got to go to normal schools and have friends.  Kim was usually on set.  I remember Kyle rubbing that in season one.

Everyone was having trial parties in the larger LA area.  Betsy Bloomingdale had them, and always tried to nab someone very connected to the trial as the hook-guest.  Dominick Dunne wrote about all of the people having "parties" about the trial.  They weren't so much celebrations as gossip fests, sharing with others the many emotions that trial brought up. 

 

Kathy's was probably 3rd tier on the trial party circuit.

I hate Kim with the fire of a thousand suns.  She's just reveling in being fought over by Kyle and Brandi.  She should never put a coworker over her family that's been there for her for so many years whether she thinks so or not.  Brandi thinks she's been there for Kim more than Kyle?  Bitch, are you crazy?!  Your measly few months in no way outweighs the years of support Kyle has provided for Kim and her children.  I bet Kim's kids won't even engage with Brandi.  That fuckin drunken slut has big delusions of grandeur and needs to have her toxic ass fired off this show.

Brandi commented she could look like trash to go to her son's school meeting because it was public school. Ummmkay.... her hair was absolutely a mess. I didn't see her buy any jewelry, but she was all happy to go pick up her gift bag. If she doesn't buy a clue from this episode that the rest of the ladies are done with her, I'll send her one.

Yolonda offering Anwar almonds to take to his soccer game. Some things never change. Got to have a glimpse of The Refrigerator, so that was a plus.

Kyle is on the apology train again. She does deserve one from Brandi, but I don't need to hear about it 15 times. And she says she doesn't want to forgive Brandi, so..... why need an apology?

Lisa R continues to crack me up. I had no idea what a top and bottom party was either!

I find it amazing how Kyle is only now realizing how offensive, manipulative, childish, vulgar, untrustworthy and hurtful Brandi is now that she's the recipient of Brandi's viles when she kept putting Lisa V down consistently last year and being as much a mean girl as Brandi for the same opinions Lisa had about Brandi. Props to Eileen for figuring Brandi out so quickly, although I don't think Brandi is in any way subtle in her impudent ways.

Oh, and how ridiculous was she to say that Eileen should have gotten a nanny because, wait for it, Brandi wants to be able to curse up a storm in someone's home? Right Brandi. Your asshole behavior should be tolerated while you're a guest in another person's house. Ugh! She's an ass of epic proportions.

 

Speaking of, damn is she envious of Kyle and Mauricio's marriage. That statement that she makes in next week's episode has green jealousy slime all over it. Eddie cheated on you, and that's fucked up, but going on and acting like other women's husbands are sleeping around is lame.

Lisa V was standing and cheering on Brandi when she went after Adrienne, Kyle, Kyle again and Joyce. Cracking up a storm like she was watching the funniest movie ever when Brandi was coming at Joyce with her racist comments until Brandi turn on her than it wasn't funny anymore. People warned Lisa V about Brandi but she was just the truth cannon than.

Brandi doesn't think she's a mean girl.  I dislike Yolanda, but I liked that she said Brandi should "start behaving like an adult and not as a child."

 

If Brandi is to be believed, it sounds like Kyle is "done" with Kim's bullshit and is distancing herself.  Good for Kyle.

 

I love Eileen more every episode.  She had way too many good lines tonight, but my favorite of all was to Brandi: "Oh, shut up.  How about a little Neosporin?  Get a grip."   LOVE.

I think sisters relationship is complicated, I think getting in the middle of it will leave you the odd man/ lady out.

I have many sisters and my relationship is different with each, I will almost back them ( I will not protect any one if they commit a crime).

I guess what I'm saying is I have fought, laughed, cried and lost our parents with my sisters and my one poor lone brother :), I can't see a stranger come between us.

So, Kyle spends the entire episode obfuscating when people ask her directly about Kim's issues, and Brandi just outright says in her talking head that Kim fell off the wagon. Alrighty then, Truth Cannon.

Did Brandi, Kim's only support and solace in these trying days of our lives, even know right away that Kim was in the hospital *cough*drugseeking*cough*? Seems like Kyle would have mentioned how uncomfortable it was sharing the vigil.

Best things about this episode for me were Eileen, Lisa R, and Lisa V's dogs. 

 

From one point of view, I can understand how Brandi feels like the other women are "mothering" her and that she can make her own choices. On the other, she always makes the wrong ones, which is why they mother her. No, Brandi, you cannot and should not get drunk if you turn into an asshole because of it. You cannot and should not walk into someone's home if you cannot follow their rules. I don't know how someone hasn't slapped her yet. And when she was bitching in her TH about how she should be allowed to say the F word in front of Eileen's kid, it really just made me wonder about her own kids and if she speaks this way around them, and if so, do they do it too? Do they do it at school? Eddie and Leanne should be given full custody of those kids and Brandi shipped off to rehab.

What kills me about Brandi is that in just the last episode, she claimed she felt okay about drinking around Kim because she knew Kim was so strong in her sobriety (or something of the sort), but after the shit hit the fan with Kyle, now Brandi talks about how vulnerable Kim is and how only she's been there for her. Brandi knows she is in trouble this season.

Lisa Rinna is fabulous for if nothing else, just putting it all out there. Thank you for simply calling out Brandi & Kim as both suffering from addiction. Ditto for Eileen. And I just don't know if I see Eileen doing a second season. She's just too smart and honestly, unless Y&R and DOOL go off the air, I don't see her needing the show.

I don't think either Yolanda or Lisa V were mothering Brandi.  They were telling her that her complaints about what went on were ridiculous because she brings it on herself.  They were just being more diplomatic about it then to out and out call her an asshole.

The thing that stuck out for me was that it was Monty who took Kim to the hospital.  He's taking care of her - I knew this thing would get all turned around and she would become the patient.

 

I think this incident also makes clear that Kim is not sober but really believes that she is.  If, as she says, she took a pain pill because she was in a great deal of pain (100%) she may have a legit reason for taking the pill but she cannot still call herself 100% sober.  I think in her mind that doesn't count.

 

Take it one day at a time Kim!
