Also what was the deal with Brandi staring at the cameras while "helping" Kim? Anytime she had any dealings with Kim she would break the 4th wall" and just stare at the camera. Odd.

I think those stares at the cameras were to serve the same purpose as her cut/cut/cut motions - in Brandi's drunken state she thought she could get them to stop filming.  She was sending them a message.  With her eyes....

Come to the dark side, ryebread.   The VPR forum is even better than the show, which is so bad/good it is ridiculous!

The way Brandi presented it, sober Kim is starting to get overwhelmed and needs Kyle's support, and while Kyle is not obligated to become involved, I see it as a negative against Kyle if she blew off Brandi's request to check on her sister. The thing is that I don't believe Brandi.

I kind of do believe Kim called Brandi instead of an actual sober coach or AA sponsor.  If Kim even has either of those. If I were in Kyle's spot I might have called my sis to tell her to call her sponsor, if she had one, if not I'd have blown it off as well.  That's who an overwhelmed recovering addict calls at 2 am.  A using addict calls an enabler.

You just had to bring up that bitch Carole Radziwill, di'nt ya.  LOL

This is always my fear about the Hos.  Kyle is a good, current example.  She's getting a ton of love right now, when not too long ago, she was Vyle Kyle.  Bestie of the morally corrupt Faye Resnick.  Our opinions shift like the wind.  Which brings me to Eileen and Lisa.

For me, Eileen is perfection.  The only flaw I've seen thus far (and I hesitate to call it a flaw) is she has...'eccentric' taste. Decorating-wise. Imo.

I don't think Bravo will mess too much with Eileen because she is TV royalty.  But I'm worried they're going to have Rinna for dinna.

ITA. Her taste is not even close to mine and her house feels a bit cluttered but, hey, to each their own, I guess. At least hers feels like it has a personal stamp on it, unlike Kyle's which feels like her decorator (which is Faye Resnick so of course I hate it) designed everything and Yolanda's, which is nice but also has no personality and looks like it came directly out of House and Garden magazine.

Of all the shit Brandi could talk about Eileen she missed the obvious, cheese pizza!  For god's sake Eileen spend some of Vince's poker winnings and spring for a topping or two!

And don't even try and tell me that was extra cheese.  I know extra cheese, extra cheese was a friend of mine and that sir was no extra cheese.

Kudos to Kyle for giving the right answer to Brandi when she called to say she was worried about Kim, Kyle's response of "that's Kim's problem" was the healthiest answer ever!  Since Brandi is an enabler she does not understand how Kyle can be so detached...ALANON gives a person the strength to detach with love and that is what Kyle did, Bravo Kyle!

It was a classic move on Kim's part to be pissed at Lisa R for mentioning what happened in the limo to Kyle...Kim does not understand that it was done out of concern and she should be mad at herself.  The addict never sees themselves as the problem.

It's cluttered, but for me, it's also something else.  Feels almost like laziness.  And not in a relaxed, comfy, lived-in way.  You know I have pictures to illustrate my point ;-)  but I have no room to talk at the moment.

Doesn't matter, she likes it.  I still love her.  (Just happen to think she needs a gardener and an organizer.)

Eileen's talent knows no limit. First, when filming began she had just finished a stint on Days, then she starts the Young and the Restless and then, she is smack ion the middle of another soap opera. The housewives of beverly hills.  She must be shaking her head and laughing hysterically when the cameras stop rolling. The absurdity is unreal.

Eileen's home reminds me of old Hollywood glamour days. I noticed some nice big black and white canvas prints of the kids up at the top of the stairs. Brandi's so used to sitting in her bed or on the floor, she wouldn't know what I'm talking about.

This is my most favorite post of the week.

You're not horrible, you're divine.  And absolutely right!  I used to watch these shows through eyes like that.  I take them way too seriously now.  Silly rabbit.

A couple weeks ago I wandered into the Vanderpump Rules forum. Quit watching last season because I decided I was just too damn old for that shit.  But reading the snark over there made me see those losers in a different light.  Don't get me wrong - they're still losers but they're losers that no longer pissed me off and made me weep for the future.  The brilliant posters over there are having a ball with them. They see all that is wrong and wonderful and are just playfully taking the piss out of them.  It's hilarious.

So, Kim wondering where her pizza was pissed me off, but what your post made me realize is that it really was awesome. I need to lighten up about these fame Hos.  And if there's one thing all of us should agree on is every last one of them are there for the fame.

Ah yes to all of it and so glad you are enjoying the VanderPump Rules forum. I love it almost as much as the show.  But you also  make a great point. I guess I just don't take the losers on VR as seriously for some reason. I just enjoy the Tomfuckery (in honor of the two Tom's) as pure entertainment. Crazy ass, jealous Kristen is, in my book Television Gold. Yep, those chuckleheads provide the best comedy on TV.

It is a different vibe though. Maybe because most of them are still young enough there may be hope for them? Well, except Jax. But Kim's addictions (meant to be plural) are just not funny. They are infuriating and sad. Brandi is just infuriating. Not funny, just evil.

It's not just you, it's a different vibe, IMO.

But the only thing I like about Yolanda is the house porn. Faye Resnick decorated Kyle's house? I didn't know. Every time I start to feel the slightest potential "like" for Kyle I am reminded she is BFF's with that POS. Well at least we know if Kyle dies first we will learn all her secrets, and some that likely aren't even true.

Signing on to the Eileen love. Not a fan previously, I had to google her when her name was announced and still didn't recognize her then.   I am also really liking Lisa R. as I did when she was on Celebrity Apprentice. Surely there is no need for Brandi and Kim after this season.

I would give my left tit for Yolanda's kitchen, it's that fantastic.

Yes, Ms. Morally Corrupt is an "interior decorator" and did both this house and Kyle's former house as well. Hate it!

I believe the Morally Corupt Faye Resnick also designed Kyle's store.

I absolutely love Vanderpump Rules -- and the forum.  It reminds me that despite some of my shittier life decisions, at least I'm not stalking a mactician with a flat iron obsession and I'm not ripping off a chunky sweater in a Vegas parking lot to start a fight. In other words, some of my life decisions don't appear nearly as poorly chosen when compared to the chucklefucks over at Sur.

Eileen's decor/style isn't exactly my taste but I do like quite a bit about her home.  Hers and Lisa R's are probably my favorites insofar as looking like actual homes that real people live in.  No walk-in fridge with its own Twitter account and no homosexual swans but also no naked Brandi pics on the walls, piles of dog poo or handsquashed famous potato salad.

Am I wrong in thinking that a different lens is being used for the scenes with Brandi and Kim vs the scenes with Kyle and Lisa? You know Brandi is probably super pissed off about that lol. Considering that Kim seems like she isn't even able to process what happened in the episode I have to question if she even noticed.

I think it's worth pointing out too that Kyle was first saying "Please. Please, I just want to talk to my sister." I'm paraphrasing but I think she said please at least twice and Brandi just ignored her because Brandi felt that she was right.

Kim couldn't even tell Kyle what it was that she was supposedly out of line over. Kim's brain was so addled that she didn't even seem to know what exactly it was they were arguing about.

Another thing that is so outrageous is that Brandi is harping on her stupid injuries and when Kyle points out that she just got her finger twisted Brandi is acting like Kyle is making a mountain out of a mole hill. Brandi is the biggest fucking hypocrite.

I was thinking this exact same thought last night.

I remembered all that not-so-subtle hinting Brandi did about her and the human Slim Jim, Carlton, and her giggling about their kiss when she was telling Lisa about it.

Yup, I can totally see Brandi going in this direction.  And substance-addled Kim going along with it, if for no other reason than in an attempt to embarrass Kyle.

Also kudzu, to whoever called it that Kim hates Kyle. It appears many of those late night phone calls to Brandi must include how awful Kyle is.

Do you mean "kadooz?" (TM Ramona). Or is there a new one I missed?

Interesting timing as well.  Brandi mentions in her TH that Kim has a lot going on because she is planning this wedding. We saw the wedding a few episodes back.

I noticed that, too. Kim does not have a lot going on, save for running around scoring drugs, so Brandi had to make things up. More enabling.

Or the editors screwed up and showed that particular TH and this episode out of order. In other words, they could have filmed this crazy drunkfest before the wedding actually happened. WHY they'd show them in the sequence they did is anyone's guess if that is what happened.

I'm totally at the opposite of quite everybody here, but I really think you're giving much too much credit and intelligence to Brandi... And I also think that Brandi's assertion regarding the "It's not my problem" from Kyle could be true... Maybe not in the sense she understood it, but it was more probably said as an "I don't wanna deal with a fucked person right now" from Kyle than what Brandi understood... But I really think that Kyle told that... (It's 2am, I'm probably sleeping in my bed. I get a call from someone I despise, telling my sister is once again fucked up... I'll probably answer something like : "And ? Good night". It won^t mean that I don't care, it will only mean that I'm SLEEPING FFS and enough is enough)

Also, I can't stop thinking that Kyle could "thank" Brandi for giving her a "punching ball" (it's so easy, that, once again, I can't imagine for one second that Brandi could have "manipulate" all that mess) and that she didn't cried about Kim, but about herself, and for making "good images" and letting her appear as the "good sister"

Once again, my opinion, and I know I'm really not in the same "mood" than most of you, folks :)

Anyway -and I think we all agree here- that preview was sad.

You are correct.  I guess in my head when redheadzombie mentioned it, I was thinking that Kyle had no idea if anyone had heard the convo or not.

No one else, HWs, would have heard the conversation unless they were standing outside the bathroom door. Only the sound guy would have know what that conversation was. LOL Unless Kyle or Kim reveal what was said to the other women, they found out watching the episode just a few days ago.

The way Brandi presented it, sober Kim is starting to get overwhelmed and needs Kyle's support, and while Kyle is not obligated to become involved, I see it as a negative against Kyle if she blew off Brandi's request to check on her sister. The thing is that I don't believe Brandi.

Brandi said that Kim was getting overwhelmed, she never said "sober Kim". LOL I really doubt that Kim was sober during these 2 am phone calls to Brandi. Brandi was trying to make Kyle look bad AND set up the excuse that Kim is getting high because she is under so much pressure at home and it is all Kyles fault, not Kims.

I usually skip the First Looks, but I'm glad I watched this one. Eileen was awesome. I was feeling badly for her because, like another poster here, I thought there were some flirting vibes between Vince and Brandi and I don't want to watch Eileen worry about that.

I thought there was a flirtatious vibe as well - maybe that's why Eileen seats herself right next to him.  I also feel sorry for Eileen, because Vince knows this is the woman who threw the wine in Eileen's face, and he was somewhat dismissive when she brought it up on camera.  I can't stand Ken, but I respect how faithful he is to Lisa.  No way he would invite Brandi into his house and flirt with her if she'd done that to Lisa.

Why wouldn't Kyle think that Kim's mic was on though? I thought that was the entire point of her whispering? I was under the impression that both mics were on hence Kyle's whispering. Kim was too out of it and loaded to care about whispering and only worried about it well after the fact.

I think the original comment came from me, and I didn't say her microphone wasn't on.  I meant that Kyle had been very careful to either whisper extremely softly, or cover her microphone. Caught up in the moment, why would she think that Bravo had used CIA-level technology to ferret out the conversation?  Shortly after in the limo, she would not know what was picked up, and wasn't about to spill on camera to Lisa, just in case.  That was my point.

Nope, you are not that far off. I was thinking the same. Think about it: who else would take a call at 2 a.m. but another f'ed up, crying in my wine glass like Brandi? And Brandi was probably as equally messed up as Kim when Brandi decided to call Kyle in the wee hours and tell her that her sister, Kim, was "in pain" and needed Kyle.

We've all seen how slurry and incoherent Brandi is. Now, magnify that by your phone ringing at 3 or 4 in the morning and you are still half unconscious and trying to make sense of what she is saying.

You know what, though. It doesn't matter. It could have happened at 3 in the afternoon and Brandi could have been cold sober. Kim has to be responsible for Kim. End. Stop. Not Kyle's problem.

I've watched my mother-in-law deal with crap like this. Her blood pressure is through the roof, and she can't seem to understand why. But, I watched people/her family behave horribly in her house at Easter. And then decide to toke up in her driveway at the Fourth of July. And then call asking for financial advice the day after Xmas...the list goes on and on. She can't disengage. Because, to her, it's "family". But yet, for those closest - like her husband, and her son/my husband and me, it seems like we should be her family and these other wackadoos should get a swift kick. Doesn't work that way, though. Wow, writing that makes me think that Mauricio must be a saint!

I think you are right. Kyle was very careful, yet Kim wasn't.  I don't think Kyle wanted to talk about any of this on camera. When they got outside she took Kim away. She didn't want her standing around everyone else when they were talking. For the most part, we heard little of what they were saying to each other. I think that when she got in the limo with Lisa R, she continued to not want to speak specifically about Kim and any drinking/drugging on camera. Again, this has to kill Brandi, because it doesn't gel with her narrative. If anything, Brandi was the one to highlight any issues with Kim.

Because I was curious, I did some digging. Brandi's comment about Kim being overwhelmed because she was planning a wedding made me wonder, since the wedding would have already taken place. It turns out that Brooke got married on Aug. 2nd, and Lisa was in Cabo on August 25 (when this episode was filmed), so the wedding did take place prior to the poker deal. I will assume that means that they used a TH about Kim and her issues from a different incident? Maybe one that we didn't see? It is strange.

I am all kinds of in love with Eileen at this point. I thought she was brought on to compete with Lisa for the title of The Queen, but it looks more like she might be the single voice of reason with Brandi. All of these other gals have too much history with Brandi to really do the job effectively. They've done stuff to her, she's done stuff to them. There is entirely too much emotion between them all. Not with Eileen.  Sure, she had some wine thrown in her face, but at this point she doesn't know Brandi very well. She is an observer who is just watching the horrible display that is Brandi and making astute observations that would fall flat or sound just bitchy from the other gals.

Not to mention that when Eileen pretty much told Brandi to shut the hell up, Brandi actually shut up.  Eileen just shut her down. She is a boss!

If, (big if) I believe Brandi told Kyle at 2am that Kim was having issues, was being overwhelmed and Kyle blew her off I can't blame Kyle. Sometimes you have to set boundaries with people especially addicts.

Kim didn't call Kyle, Brandi did. I could see Kim saying I'm fine. If needed you I'd call you. I'm sure Kyle knows her sister. I could see Kyle saying at 2 in the morning, OK, Brandi I'll call Kim tomorrow. And because Kyle didn't jump that moment Brandi's twisted mind saw it as a blow off.

Again, that is if I believe Brandi. As we have seen Brandi lies very easily or exaggerates things to fit her story.

I won't rule out things being filmed out of sequence, but if the call took place prior to the Poker Night, as far as Kyle knows Kim is sober, and if Kim has fallen off the wagon prior to Poker Night and Kyle knows it, then I have a problem with Kyle's misleading comments about Kim sobriety. Also my inference, perhaps erroneous, is that they weren't filming because Brandi seems to be implying that Kyle's concern is "for show" or a storyline.

Again I think that Brandi is lying, exaggerating and/or distorting what happened.

It is Brandi trying to come up with reasons why Kim is acting like a whackadoodle.  Kim had Monty, apparently part time, Kimberly was home from college for a visit and hopefully returning.  Lisa's went on vacation to Cabo the last week in August, Kim's daughter's wedding was the fist of August.  Brandi and Kim want the world to know no one carries the burdens they the two single women do.

Brandi with her arms around Kim, hugging her, pawing at her and telling her she loves her, for chrissakes she practically had Kim in a head lock!. WTF!

I believe Brandi, to a certain extent, when she says that she's better at keeping her shit together when she has her kids.  I bet she's a suffocating-type mother who wants constant hugs and kisses, and to be told how much mommy is loved, is their favorite, etc.  I think that's why she has three little dogs - little boys don't want ankle biters, they want bigger dogs they can roughhouse with.  Brandi has those dogs so she can suffocate them with attention and love. Kim is tiny and has a fragility about her.  She can also be very sweet and likable.  I think Brandi loves babying her and feeling wanted/needed.  Co-dependent relationships strike up for a reason - it fulfills something in both parties.  I think Brandi would diaper Kim, bottle feed her, and tuck her in a crib if Kim allowed it.

I tend to think that Lisa R was just trying to fill the silence.  She seemed very shell shocked by what had gone on and since it doesn't seem she knows Kyle well she wasn't comfortable just sitting in the car with her and maybe holding her hand or something while she cried.  Situations like that cause heightened emotions and people don't know what to do with themselves.  I don't get that Lisa R is presented with scenarios like that in her life so it seemed to me like she thought she was being helpful.  It also seemed to me like she was working things out in her own head about what she just witnessed and also that she was accused of doing something she didn't do.

What she didn't realize was that Kyle knew very well what had just happened, was scared, embarrassed and confused and felt betrayed (not only by Kim but Brandi as well).  Rehashing it probably wasn't #1 on her list of things she wanted to do.

I agree with a lot of this, but I think Lisa just wasn't getting a read on how upset Kyle was.  Lisa starts up with, "There's too much drinking going on", and Kyle covers her face with both hands.  Then she says, "There is addiction going on, and no one is willing to talk about it".  In a way, she's being just as presumptuous as Brandi, or even more so since she's new to this group.  Lisa has no idea what Kyle and Kim have talked about in the past.  She seems like she's lecturing Kyle, and she thinks Kyle is willfully pretending that Kim was normal.  I think at some points Lisa was talking about Brandi, but she was also conflating the two women, and I'm sure Kyle was not in the mood to discuss Brandi's addiction issues - good grief Lisa, doesn't she have enough with Kim?  And to the person upthread who said Lisa was only saying these things because she was sharing Harry's family story, Lisa only talked about his brothers in her TH.

Re LisaR & Kyle in car, on first viewing I got the feeling the scene was spliced to make it look like Kyle is in the car the whole time LisaR is talking.  Just a sense that LisaR is alone and somewhat doing a TH in the car lol.

It also makes her the perfect companion for Kim who needs someone to "have her back" and serve as her guard dog .  All those late night talks had to include a lot of talk about Kim's relationship with Kyle.  And I think a lot of the spew about Kyle that Brandi uttered came directly from those late night talks. Kim gives Brandi an actual purpose in her own life, not just a storyline.  I don't think Brandi cares so much about the storyline stuff.  A few posters have noted that Brandi is empty, lonely, alone etc. I think she latches onto other people because there are so many voids in her own life/mind. She did it with Lisa and now with Kim. And it makes her an easy target for an addict to manipulate.  I think Kim is playing Brandi.  But Kim also fills a huge emptiness in Brandi's life.  Brandi feels needed, she gives guidance and understanding and protection. Sure, in reality it's all misguided and probably damaging to both of them, but it makes Brandi feel good and like she has a purpose.

I agree with all of this, except I don't think Kim is using Brandi. I don't think Kim has many friends, and now she has Brandi, who lets her call in the middle of the night and complain, and has plenty of time for her.  Plus, Brandi dislikes Kyle.  It's not often that Kim knows people who prefer her over her sister, and it must be a heady feeling.  And I don't think Kim is friends with Brandi to stick it to Kyle.  It's human nature to seek out people who praise you, say I love you, and tell you what you want to hear.  I think it's a very different relationship than the one she had with Lisa.  Lisa babied and protected Brandi, and did the mothering.  With Kim, Brandi's the mother.

I do think Kim is torn.  Brandi is her current "best friend", yet Kyle is her sister and she loves her.  I see the conflict in Kim when she tried to soothe Kyle away from Brandi, when she said, "you didn't fight with her, did you?", she did not like it on the driveway when Brandi was in Kyle's face and grabbing her arms - Kim grabbed Brandi to try to pull her off.  Kim also says, "Brandi, you can't do that to my sister", which pisses Brandi off, "oh wow, okay".  Lastly, as their walking away Brandi starts in on Kyle again, and Kim is like OMG, Brandi enough.

And regarding Brandi saying she cares more for Kim, and is there more for Kim - I think she truly believes it.  Brandi does full on enabler, and Kyle is trying to draw boundaries and not get sucked back into enabling.  An enabler like Brandi, especially when drunk, is unable to interpret that Kyle's relationship with Kim, is actually better for Kim.  Personal story:  I went out with three friends for my birthday.  I was completely wasted and two of the friends took me home.  They threw me in the backseat, told me to get out and puke (alone) on the side of the road, dropped me off on my driveway, and took off. My third friend (mother is an alcoholic), was horrified.   I should have been in the front seat so I wouldn't get car sick, someone should have held my hair on the side of the road, they should have walked me in, cleaned me up, and made sure I got in bed.  Diametrically opposed methods, but each of my friends did (or would have done) what they did because they loved me and wanted to protect me.  One method was practical, and the other was enabling.

And in the brief time that Kyle had with Kim on the driveway, she told Kim, "Whisper in my ear so I at least know".  Not sure what she was talking about, but it was an attempt to communicate without the mics picking it up.

Wow Wow Wow at the 1st look... Brandy is truly delusional if she really thinks in the end Kim will end up choosing her over Kyle. Brandy is arguably one of the most toxic people I've ever seen. It's truly an addicts bond Brandy and Kim have at the moment and I truly hope Kim can break free from her addictions and Brandy.

I'm waiting for Brandi's next claim that she and Kim are now lovers. That would give both of them a storyline.

Oh, please come sit by me.

Sure looked that way to me. Seemed like Brandi was trying to protect her main squeeze from her big bad sister, lol.

Re LisaR & Kyle in car, on first viewing I got the feeling the scene was spliced to make it look like Kyle is in the car the whole time LisaR is talking. Just a sense that LisaR is alone and somewhat doing a TH in the car lol.

The point's been made that we see only a small part of a long car ride, so who's to know what was said and not said, in what order?

To me, Lisar was simply stating what she observed; not lecturing or even communicating with Kyle, just processing the evening. And making the point that what happened happened on both a rational and an irrational plane. Perhaps, to her, she offered Kyle the comfort that dispassionate on-lookers understood that she, Kyle, was therefore not responsible for those irrational behaviors.
