I really hate Henry and David. David's not okay with his daughter getting married in a diner where his wife dated someone else, but he's perfectly fine with naming his son after the man who knocked his daughter up and sent her to jail.

I feel like this is going to translate to more than David being an ass. Like he knows the daunting task that Emma is going to face against the Black Fairy and wants to make sure her wedding is an over-the-top big ass royal party since she may die facing Gideon.

I don't blame David at all for wanting a big, fancier wedding. That makes total sense. I just don't find the Whale digs funny or (no pun intended) charming. It just reminds me that he's been a sexist.

I kind of got from Ginny's interview about Snow that she seemed to think Snow was being way too delusional in ignoring the coming issues Emma is facing and going all out on the wedding pretending it's all normal. I'm not a fan of Snowing planning the wedding since I think it's Emma & Hook's day, so what they want goes, but maybe neither really cares and Emma figures that if it makes Snow feel better, she'll just let it go.

I did love GG's delivery of "what do you mean, you don't know" that translated perfectly for me to "you know MY opinion is OUR opinion so where is this coming from!"

I especially liked it because Charming's "I don't know" came across like... how do you explain to your wife that her idea is so stupid that there are no words to explain it without pissing her off... oh let me deflect with pointing out that she dated Whale... before launching into its a stupid idea because its a dump.  They did seem to do the lighting in a way that Granny's was drearier than usual.

Watching the look on Hook's face when David was explaining his reasons was hysterical.  He was enjoying the hell out of it.

And I loved the byplay between Emma and Hook about having no idea what's going on with her parents at the end.

I wish every episode had this kind of stuff in it.

I hope we get glimpses as Emma and Hook track Snowing all over town to monitor their wedding planning shenanigans.

Loved the sneak!  Daddy Charming to the rescue!  A Granny's wedding Snow, really?  Every disaster in Storybrooke begins with an interrupted meal at Granny's.

The Jolly would've been great but as my mother would say, "the wedding isn't about the bride and groom."  Ha!  The way Emma and Hook are wrapped up I'm surprised they haven't stopped by Regina's office for a quicky ceremony.

Can I just say - why is Ginny still wearing a maternity coat!!! The cut from the side makes her stomach looks like she's four weeks past due and then she turns and you can see that she has actually lost 90 percent of the weight and other than much larger boobs she is perfectly fine and her stomach is back to normal. Seriously wardrobe getting your f-ing act together! Stop dressing this woman like a weeble and give her a decent look! First maternity clothes surpassed this look decades ago and second just because she had a baby doesn't mean she needs to forever be dressed like a schlub. End rant.

Snow is a princess with the soul of a drudge. I just can't get over the fact that she thinks Granny's is the ideal place for Emma's wedding celebration. And to which side would they exactly "push" the chairs and tables to make space for the classy dancing to jukebox music? lol Seriously, they dress her like a dumpy matron and make her act like one too!

Also, the next time David brings up Whale (who also helped deliver Snowflake, btw, Charms), I hope Snow brings up Kathryn and Cruella.

The Writers think they're hilarious (and of course, calling back to Season 1!) with the Whale mentions.

Granny's is practically the only familiar set we have, so let's have the wedding there.  After all, it's where we go when we think we're going to die.  Other ideas would include The Loft (maybe too depressing after the non-stop sleepathon there), Emma's house (probably not after the dreamcatcher burning session), The Sorcerer's Mansion (probably still cleaning out the spiderwebs), Regina's Office (oh right, Robin died there), The Jolly Roger (too ripe for dirty pirate comments)... never mind, found the perfect place... The Mines!

If i wasn't a cycnical and jaded old cow, i could look forward to a wonderfully emotional exploration of David's outburst over Snow trying to sell them on Granny's for the wedding.

I might think he had a deeply repressed resentment over Snow wanting a second fancy OTT wedding because the 1st one with his dying mother (who selflessly sacrificed her life for Snow to have a baby), wasn't good enough for 'The Princess'.  That resentment is seeping out now because he doesn't understand why Snow is ok just to have the full on Royal wedding in a diner.

Maybe it's because he vividly remembers 09Killian dying on the floor with a gaping neck wound and all the awful many truly painful memories from it's jaunt to Camelot...to rescue their Darkness infected daughter.

But i am a cynical and jaded old cow because I think the real reason is more likely because he doesn't want his daughter getting married any place that Regina's lasagne wasn't welcome or some such rubbish.

Wow !! Emma is absolutement une Belle mariee!!

So, happy to genuinely love the dress!

I was worry it will be to fluffy but it is classic, romantic, beautiful!! It is better knowing Jen help with it. Can't wait for her to talk about it. I have no problem with the vintage inspiration because everything in Storybrooke in vintage. Jen already noted it.

Unfortunately, I hate Snow dress! But, Josh!!! He is a handsome man!!!

Honestly, I don't care for the upcoming episode I just want EP.19 et marriage.

Even, if the BF had lost a lot of her mystery knowing she is really just a mix of Pan and Snow Queen plot. I still looking for her episode.

Because, I do like Zelena and Bex I will watched but I think I will appreciate more if I wait after the season.

The Black Fairy attempting to recruit Zelena is the exact same thing as Split Queen attempting to recruit Zelena. They’re even recycling plots from the same season.

That's exactly what I was thinking - didn't they already do this with the EQ?  Do we really need to see it again?  (No.  The answer is: No.)

Also--shut up, Henry?

Amen.  Except no question mark needed at the end.  Just a period.  Shut up, Henry.

But really - Ariel and Eric got married on a ship and they didn't worry about guests getting sea sick.  It's Emma and Hook's wedding - let them have it on the Jolly where they want.  I did think it was kind of funny that it was David wanting the whole, big Princess wedding thing and not Snow.  Loved Hook's expressions in that clip.

Zelena looked lovely in the other clip.  But I don't care about the BF at all.

I was thinking it seemed kind of forced to shoe-horn a Zelina episode in at this point, but her having a baby at risk from the baby snatcher does make it seem a little more sense why they would work her in now.  Although, if they needed to go with a baby in peril route, they could have gone with Neal.  There would have been an extra edge between Emma and BF if it was Emma's brother at risk rather than baby plot device.  I like Zelina, but who thought it would be a good idea to have her tied to a young infant/child?

So conspiracy theory that I can't post in Ratings and Scheduling without spoilers.....

Just saw a commercial for "Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings" on FreeForm airing opposite OUAT musical/wedding episode.

Its basically a veiled infomercial for packages to get married and honeymoon at Disney World.

Is the CaptainSwan Wedding part of a concerted effort to market Disney parks wedding venues by simultaneously promoting two wedding shows?

If cross promotion starts popping up I'm putting that on the side of the scale where S7 is renewed and ends up on Freeform.

After looking at the wedding picture more than I probably should going back and forth on whether or not I liked the dress, I realized it's not the dress itself, it's the picture as a whole. It’s not that I don’t like the dress or the decor or the location, it’s that they don’t match. Like at all. I mean Emma’s dress is regal and the black and white flooring is refined and sophisticated, but the drapery and the flowers and the green carpet are all very homely. It’s like they tried to combine a refined royal wedding with a down to earth simple one and failed at it. I think the whole thing would be ten times better if Emma’s dress was more reflective of the decor (flowy and not stiff) or if the decor was more regal. I also really don’t like how Emma is carrying lily of the valley and that it is no where else in the picture.

Please don't tell me they're wasting time on this when the "current narrative" may be ending forever.

Which means they totally are.

"Where Bluebirds Fly" is where A&E kills Time.

For me I make peace with the fact Once upon a time has I knew will end in may.

Something else will probably come back next automn that may or not interest me. I will judge it in time.

That why I can appreciate this half Better I think.

That and the fact that I can see the potential of the narrative. They totally screw it but there was a real potential with the BF, the final battle and the Savior arc.

But, they lost by choosing to overfocus on the pointless double Queen(instead of build up their final battle) and the Rumple family drama. For me at the end it was a mistake to make her Rumple mother's not because it's Rumple but because they already did this gimmick so many times already. No way it can look creative or original.

Personally, I love Emma's wedding dress! I think the Princess Grace look is classic and royal.  I don't mind the old fashioned look so much..  A ball gown (like the beautiful red one she wore in the S3 finale) would be overwhelming in Granny's diner....if that's where it is.  As for the red lips, I am also quite pale and love wearing red lip color. I would look completely washed out with a lighter color, honestly.

Snow's dress was much more contemporary with all the feathers. It would be nice to see a swan motif in the wedding, really.  I always pictured Captain Swan's wedding in the EF. I imagined that they would all be living there by the end of the series....sort of a restoration to what their lives should have been.

I am very excited about the musical episode!!

That's why I'm finding it very hard to get excited about the wedding. I'd always imagined that the final arc would be them back in the Enchanted Forest for good, trying to rebuild their society, and Emma and Hook's wedding would be the last scene in the series, her in full-on princess mode and him as the admiral of their kingdom's navy, in his dress uniform. The Storybrooke wedding idea is kind of ho-hum, but I guess with renewal not certain they were stuck with this. It might not be the end of the series, so they can't wrap up everything, but it might be, so they need to resolve some of the major threads.

  • Love 6

If they had planned out 6B with the ACTUAL respect that "end of the current narrative" should deserve, they would have created a scenario where Emma and Hook's wedding COULD be in the Enchanted Forest.  They're probably losing Ginny Goodwin and Josh Dallas and they're giving them retcons, retread conversations about Whale and depriving them of one-on-one's with Emma, or character arcs that do their characters justice.  It's shameful.

I'm not terribly excited about the wedding because I find the dress so ugly and not Emma's style.  I'd rather have them elope and give us a pg clip of the wedding night.

I too had hoped they'd get married back in the EF but I think that ship sailed in 3a when everyone was sent back Except for Henry and Emma because Henry wasn't born there basically telling us that Henry can never live there so Emma won't either.  I think they've deliberately made Hook and Emma a Storybrooke romance vs EF even though they always find each other no matter what the realm.

But Henry being the Author should mean he has the ability to realm-hop now. Isaac was from our world, but he was able to get to Cruella's world and to the Enchanted Forest, so I would think that would mean Henry's no longer stuck in our world. He might or might not get taken back by a curse reversal, but he should still be able to get to the Enchanted Forest some other way.

I don't have strong feelings about the dress. I'm just not keen on the setting. I guess I either want the full-on princess thing in the throne room of a palace or something really simple, personal and intimate.

If Charming knights Killian (just YES...give this to me, please!), then he can be Sir Deputy Prince Captain Hook.

Regarding Emma's dress, My guesss is that they blew the clothes budget on Regina's or rather the Evil Queens Outfits.  I like the dress and am fine with headdress.  I would have preferred a smalll princess crown that belonged to Eva and then Snow.  Wasn't there one in the episode with Joanna?   For the dress either simple but ethereal if they did a small beach/sea wedding.  If elsewhere, a more Elaborate one that does calll back to a swan.

Jennifer has posted some pics of the dress and an explanation of the reasons behind it on Instagram (I'm on mobile so I can't post a link).

I still don't like it, it's ugly and old-fashioned, and the headpiece is hideous. And I don't understand the Grace Kelly inspiration for someone like Emma. It makes no sense.

I'm hearing that the musical episode will be this year's "La La Land".

So, it will seem like it got the Show renewed, but actually will have lost ONCE's slot to some obscure drama?

I really expected something slim fitting and more skin showing to knock Killian's socks off...i always hated GK's wedding dress. I can't make my eyes look away from that hideous headpiece...all I think when I see it is 'baby's christening bonnet'...just..ewww

But I guess they went with the vintage theme because Killian's got the 40s groom hair and completely unlike himself.

This wedding does not look anything like something I expected Emma and Killian to put together....it all looks wrong..

They keep saying the wedding isn't as it appears...unless CS are on the docks or the beach and those photos are from Snow drifting off in her head picturing this, the only things I will enjoy them actually together in the same place long enough to get married and proud Dad.

It's not that I hate the idea of an old fashioned dress in principle, or a red lip, etcetera. I just think in this particular case they don't work. The red is harsh, and it doesn't flatter Jen's lips. The pulled back hair to fit the head piece is severe as well. I guess I don't totally get Jen's fashion taste, and she had a lot of input. On the other hand, she seems happy with it and she obviously put a lot of thought into it, and she deserves any damn dress she wants after putting up with A&E's ridiculous plots for all this time.
