Abigail whining as to why she couldn't stay over longer was really stupid. Of course, in her case, she's lucky the guy wants to kiss her after she goes on her rant. I doubt this technique of "Why, why why won't you let me stay over longer" is ever really  effective in real life... well, certainly not the way she did it anyway, and certainly not when you already have a boyfriend...

Abigail must be the only woman who has ever begged to stay longer in the Dimera mansion. Don't say nobody warned you when Chad, via Stephano's instructions, straps a monitor to your ankle in the near future...

 

Can someone please explain why Stephano has an interest in Abigail? Is he bringing Peter back to torture Jennifer? There's a big gap in this storyline and the writers haven't figured out how to explain it...

 

Maybe Kate can sleep with Ben and make Abigail cry.

I'd read your recap thread, ShadowSixx.  I often miss days then decide to watch the current show on the day I'm home and don't always get back to the old ones.  As fun as opinions can be, I'm missing out on some of the facts.  Actually, I don't remember if they just sold TBD and now Vic's place with the stupid name is where everyone is at?

 

I thought the gun was in the carseat that was sitting on the sofa.  Still pretty bad.  And she almost pistol whipped Dumbass. 

 

So they had to put Toothy in a baby's room in a rocker so she could fidget all she wants.  Good lord how those two coughed up the truth in no time flat.  I hate Theresa being a victim.

Kate is in Horton Square on the phone talking about a press release for her job at Mad World. Abby overhears and talks to Kate about it, wondering why Lucas didn't tell her anything about being let go from Mad World and Kate being hired.

Why does Abby think Lucas would tell her about losing his job? (Not being sarcastic, genuinely wondering what justification she has.)

P.S. Thank you for the recap -- I don't get to watch until Wednesday! I cannot WAIT to see Kate punch Sonny's mother! Woo!

Can someone please explain why Stephano has an interest in Abigail? Is he bringing Peter back to torture Jennifer? There's a big gap in this storyline and the writers haven't figured out how to explain it...

 

I still wonder if has anything to do with the pregnancy scare she had with EJ, the one where she went to see the Dimera doctor at EJ's insistence.  After the exam was over - and I think Side Piece was put out for whatever the exam was - the doctor called Stefano and told him "It's done".  Whatever that meant.....

 

Originally Abigail was supposed to be pregnant, but with James Scott leaving the show the pregnancy was written out.  Or was it?  

 

I can't see Show doing TWO science fiction baby storylines so quick in succession, but I can't think of any other reason for Stefano to give a rats ass about this mutant.

Out of everyone in Salem who has a reason to be angry with Sami and/or EJ, the boring twit isn't one of them.

 

The gap in the storyline/show is that almost all of Stefano's children are dead, and almost all of Stefano's targets have left the building/Salem.

 

There is also the fact that Corday and the writers are trying desperately to make certain characters relevant which is not going to happen.

Y&R is just horrible because everyone is so damn whiny, pouty, and depressed, there's not one single happy character on the show. At least Days have some characters that are happy and smiling, they almost know how to balance doom and gloom and happiness. Days doesn't have that depressing feel to it like Y&R does.

Y'all think Jacosta is self-righteous and a hypocrite look at Y&R it is flooded with hypocrites. Let me say it like this on Y&R, I only like 2 characters out of the 44-50 they got.

Today was GOOD!  Well, "good" being a relative term, considering that it included a Sneasel sighting and a Side Piece whining.  But other than that, me likee.

 

Eileen Davidson is such a trouper, isn't she?  They give her such crap to do and she does her damndest to at least spin it into brass.  Gold isn't possible, but somehow she makes it possible for me to watch her batshit crazy character and not FF through it.  Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy that this is a short run for the character, but in spite of the odds, she does her best with what she's given.  I appreciate her even more, seeing her having to do the same thing on Y&R now.  As horrid as that show is - far, far worse than Days IMO - she is sometimes the only person onscreen over there that makes watching possible.

I'm glad that Kristen didn't fall for Brady's line today about "loving" her.  Not even an inanimate object should be dumb enough to be fooled by that blockhead, and she wasn't.  

 

The bes thing about Mel continues to be that she's not Abigail.  I don't know why it bugged me today, but everytime she's screech out "OW" while being dragged around and tied up because she banged her toesies into a table or something was just too cutsey to live.  Which, apparently, she's not supposed to.  But she will anyway.  And we'll have more of her adorable KLUTZ with the Betty Boop mannerisms to look forward to.

I love me some Kate the same way I do Victor.  Both characters are portrayed by good actors, and both characters are layered and smart and complicated and very individualistic.  But just like Victor can annoy a bit at times with his misogyny and use of the word "bitch", Kate can be a bit too self-servingly clever for her own good.  Everything she said to Adrienne about Adrienne was most likely true.  But none of those things in any way lessened the crappy thing she did to Lucas.  And while she definitely has - lets call them "opinions" - about the women he's been with, that was such a secondary concern to her getting her old job back at Mad World that I'm surprised she remembered them.

Kate deserves everything she's getting from Lucas right now, and a whole lot more.  Now all she really does have is Clyde and how sad is that?  Oh, I guess she has Sneasel, but frankly she'd be better off with boil on her butt.

Bad Kate, Kate bad.  Still love her but PLEASE, Kate, you're getting what you deserve.  

 

Sneasel reminded me so much of Elmer Fudd out to take down that Wascally Wabbit when he met with Clyde today.  There he is, oh SO smug, so convinced of his fantastic writing skills, thinking he's snowing Clyde with his charm and his wit.  Sneasel is such an idiot.   When even Ben is smart enough to know what he's up to, Sneasel might just want to take his self-regard down a notch or twelve.

There is this old joke, where a guy is seeing a psychiatrist and at the end of the session, the guy asks the psychiatrist what his diagnosis is.  They psychiatrist says to the guy, "Well, the good news is, you have a very strong ego.  The bad news is, it has no basis in fact".  That's Will  -delusional to the end.

I liked seeing Chad today.  Billy Flynn has a charm to him, that for me outweighs ALMOST everything else in his storylines.  And by "ALMOST" I do mean Abigail.  I wish he'd escorted her from the Mansion using that giant kangaroo head of hers like a basketball. 

 

All I can think is that Stefano is now running a carnival and he needs Abigail to headline his freak show as the Incredible Yapping Pinhead.

I can't always watch everyday, and will miss more once summer gets here.  And as entertaining as your (ShadowSixx) regular recaps are, they can sometimes be confusing, especially if you didn't see the show that day.  So, I definitely would appreciate your unbiased/nickname free daily recaps. That is if you have time do them, in addition to your  *biased* ones. :)

If these fools INSIST on keeping Abifail around can they at least have the decency to recast? KM is incapable of elevating the material even a little and there's no charm or charisma to her, nothing to make the character even a little tolerable. Just awfulness all around.

The only scenes really worth a damn in yesterday's episode were Kate/Adrienne/Lucas and color me shocked but I'm liking the possibility of the Clyde and Will storyline. Yes, Adrienne is annoying and a hypocrite but I found what Kate did to her own son just for a frigging job, unforgiveable and her justifications for it are mind boggling.  Lucas is still young and has kids to support and getting fired is not a good look on anyone's resume but she did it without compunction and a second thought for her own selfish needs. She deserves to be kicked to the curb by Lucas and stuck in hillbilly hell with Clyde. 

 

Ben has been looking slightly, just slightly, less like a plastic play toy to me. I think it may have to do with the facial hair.  I wonder if that voids his warranty. 

 

Judi Evans really is a phenomenal actress.  Not gonna sit here and say I ship Adrienne and Lucas but man am I glad that the actors have been given story and airtime. Lucas/Bryan especially has been treated like a red-headed stepchild by the writers so glad to see him get some material.

1,000x yes with Mel's main saving grace is that she isn't Abigail. Even with Mel's myriad of tics and wannabe Lucy antics I still don't cringe at the sight or mention of her name. This past episode I actually FF quite of few of Abby's scenes. I just can't take her preening and simpering around Chad. I. CAN'T. Her using any excuse to slither her way into the Dimera mansion is already tiring and this storyline just begun. Why was she even there this time? Did she realize she left a couple of dead skin cells by the fireplace and hair follicles and eyelashes between the sofa cushions? I wasn't fast enough on the draw with the remote and was painfully subjected to Abigail's lamenting why was Chad now pushing her away when before he was doing everything in his power to push them together. Thirsty much?!? Don't you have a manbot? DiMera peen must be some kind of divining rod (pun intended) to her Horton hoo-haa. 

 

The only thing I can think of that would make Stefano suddenly so focused with Abigail is dementia. If Stefano's plans has devolved so much that they now need to include Abigail as an integral part of them than the Dimera dynasty is truly dead. From Sami to Abby. Talk about a downgrade. Like going from Michael Schumacher driving a Ferrari in a Formula One race to a monkey on a unicycle. You know it used to be kinda fun to snark on Abigail. She was love to hate for me. Now I feel like she is tainting Chad and the Dimeras and it just doesn't seem as fun anymore. I like Billy Flynn and I want a better story and scene partner for him. Plus the thought of a triangle with Abigail in the middle makes me nauseous. Can you imagine the self satisfied smugness that will now become KM's main facial expression? And dear lawd the interveiws. 

 

Now that it has been announced that

Mel will be leaving

there needs to be another actress in that peer group. Not the biggest

fan but again, she ain't Abby so upgrade.

I've gotten better translating the nicknames the longer I've been re-watching, especially now that I actually know who all the "new to me" characters are.  But even now I sometimes get confused when more than one nickname is used for the same character. Especially when it's in the same sentence! LOL.

Isn't the whole thing with Stephano more about Chad than Abigail? This is Stephano teaching Chad to be a "true Dimera", which of course involves psychotically obsessing over and mindfucking a single woman (or man). Stephano had Marlena, EJ had Sami, Kristen had John, and Peter had Jennifer. I guess Lexie had Abe, but I think we're not supposed to remember that time she went evil.

Lexie's descent into Evil was done well and it did not destroy the character. She was able to recover from it..I always felt that Lexie stayed with Abe because it was expected of her by everyone. Her constant infidelities were always a sign to me that she was not happy with Abe...Evil Lexie was fun and Renee Jones was fantastic during the baby switching storyline....

I'm bored by the Dimeras.  I wish Chad had been Tony's son, Tony had turned up alive, and Stefano was finally put down for good.  Kristen needs die and stay dead to.  Tony alive, and psycho Andre stays dead.  Although Andre is a great example of why the Dimeras are so lame anymore.  Andre was actually dangerous.  I hate that Renee, Benjy, Tony and Lexie are dead while Stefano still lives.

 

I still want Sami, Kate, Nicole, and Theresa to team up and kill Stefano and Kristen, and get away with it.

I agree with your post, Tigerlynx..I always wanted Theresa with either Chad or Philip.  Theresa needs an Alpha male that could challenge her. Brady is too stupid...I think Nicole and Theresa would be cool as best friends. Stefanie, Chelsea and Theresa would be  cool as a trio..I think the Kiriakis family will be more prominent with the new regime..Dena loves them....I have often wondered how she would have written Sonny and Wilson...

I'm afraid I may be responsible for starting "Failure."  Similar to LP's thoughts on Sonny's mother (yes, that's all she was for a long time, bitching about Will causing Justin to move to Dubai), I didn't feel she deserved the relatively human name Abifail we'd been using.  She's a Failure and doesn't know it. Good lord how I hope Stephono blames the Failure for EJ's death because if it weren't for her...I really hope she gets gut punched and that guppy smirk slapped off her face.  Metaphorically speaking of course.  I groan every day is see it's going to be another Failure episode.  The way she walks into a room expecting to be adored.  If you check her FB page there are people who think she is everything she thinks she is.  ugh.  Keep messing with her head, Chad! 

 

In the beginning I loved to hate her too when her friends knew she was way too stupid to be let in on the plots involving Melanie, Andrew, Gabi, Nick, Chad.  IIRC she was too busy a lot of the time playing virgin lottery with Cameron and Chad. And that insane Ausin storyline.  Then ruining Sami's exit.  The writing wasn't her fault but she completely bought into it in her interviews.  I think she really expected to be paired with JS.  ugh.

Apologies to you Sami fans, or those who think that AS wasn't *that* bad of an actress, but I'm much happier fast forwarding through Abigail scenes than I was when I had to FF through Sami scenes for her last five or so years on the show. At least if you skip Abby's scenes, you really only miss what's going on with her character. Sami was involved in too many stories for me to successfully avoid her entirely. You guys have it easy!

I don't think it's a retcon, they showed him having ulterior motives with Jordan and even Stefano being in on it. Then suddenly it changed to real feelings, now that Jordan's gone I guess it's gone back to original motive.

Kristen's Dimera family room on top of the cliff, is so the old Dimera mansion from Salem. That's why Chad's always in the study. I did like him and Abigail today, I just find her so much better around Chad than Ben.

The Chad/Abifail scenes were vomit inducing and Abifail is so gross. One of these days maybe plastic mannequin will wise up and realize that animal is only using his penis as a substitute for Chad's. 

 

Why do we have to hear another sob story about Sparkle receiving hate mail and people treating him like a god? Is it not enough that they've attached him to a legacy character? Enough already.

I think it's a bad idea for a soap to concentrate exclusively on one character or couple, although all of the soaps have gotten bad about doing this.

 

I liked the SLs with Sami when Rafe, Lucas, and Nicole were involved along with EJ.  It just amused me to see a good looking rich guy like EJ get turned down by Sami over and over again because she loved Rafe and Lucas, and they were the better choices.  Then the idiot writers had to go and put Sami with EJ, and try to sell it as a love story.  {face palm}

 

Once again EJ gets to ruin Sami's life, Sami gets blamed for it, and they couldn't even follow through and let Sami burn EJ and Slappy to the ground before she left Salem.

 

STFU Kristen.  This is yet another reason I am so tired of the Dimeras.  They start wars with other people who have never done anything to them, and then whine about it.  Kristen has no right to sit in judgement of Theresa or anyone else.  I wish Theresa would get to kill the psycho.

I  think that Sami and EJ could have been a good couple, if EJ was not a Dimera and he did not try to ruin Sami's life..I liked the fact that Sami had a man that only had eyes for her and never looked once at Carrie..Plus, he liked Sami for who she was....
