also like Broe well this version as I didn't care for Kyle Lowder in the role even though Brady was probably a better character back then. They have a genuine friendship and respect for each other which is something that's missed when it comes to developing relationships on soaps. Unfortunately I fear they will never let Brady escape Kristen even though that's what should happen to give him some viability. I wish they never made Rachel theirs.

I liked the Broe-Phloe conflict back in the day with Kyle Lowder.  I am not a fan of this Broe. They make a better friendship. And the rivalry between Brady /Philip doesn’t compare with this version. And I’m very disappointed that “missing” Philip is not even a thought between this Broe. It’s more about Brady comforting Chloe being way too upset about Craig and Nancy.
so I’m all for Kristin being involved and dismantling Broe, at this point, even though I’m not a fan of Brady and Kristin.

I mean Chloe was devastated, felt personally responsible for Philip's death, and it's the reason she hasn't romantically pursued Brady until Friday's episode. Philip's disappearance has definitely impacted her.

I think it's more curious that Brady, Shawn, and Belle don't seem to care all. Allie also had a blink and you miss it response. I know John and Philip aren't close, but he actually was Philip's godfather. It's just odd that the character is presumed "dead" and no one cares outside of Chloe. (I know Victor, Kate, and Lucas are aware he's alive).

Maggie barely cares that her daughter was missing for months, so I guess that's why she has little care for Philip being missing.

The conflict was a lot better because they were all closer in age. While I think EM looks great for a 50 year old he looks too mature for a triangle between him Phillip/Chloe. Plus his Brady is such a departure from how he originally was. I can take or leave Broe but honestly at this point I just wish they would have Brady stay in one relationship and stick with it regardless of who it is at this point. I just would prefer it to not be with his rapist Kristen.

Agree! Brady just cannot be alone. Meaning he always has to be in a relationship. Always rebounding. And not that I like his rapier Kristen, but I blame HIM for being in the relationship. I want him to be smarter.

And his (off screen )abusive behavior to Chloe, I want her to be smarter.
Also,  poo-poo on Nancy thinking Brady is the one for Chloe after that!

I want him to be better in his recovery. Focus on himself and no relationships for a time.

show does not do theses things realistically and it irks me.

Let us also remember that John (as Roman) was once thought to be Steve's brother-in-law, so the two have history there. They were always friendly, but I think they became closer following Bo's death as Bo was close to both Steve and John [which, while great, also mystified me as far as Steve went because wasn't Bo the one that made Steve lose his eye?], so they probably have bonded more over that loss.

Yes, Bo was responsible for Steve losing his eye in the first place. The got into a knife fight after Bo caught Steve in bed with his girlfriend, Britta, who was playing them both.  This was when they were younger and in the merchant marines together. Later, when Steve came to town, Bo didn't like or trust him. But by the time Bo and Hope sailed off into the sunset a few years later, Bo had thawed towards Steve and they were more amicable, eventually returning to their old friendship.

Do 20-somethings even care that much about these issues.  All of that bellyaching sounded like something written by old people.

First we had Will doing his version of Schoolhouse Rock explaining the difference between being gay and being bisexual (like someone in Allie's age bracket wouldn't already be aware of that.)  Then we had Allie doing her PSA about how her sexuality is OK no matter what it is.  While years ago they tried to make Will's coming out at least a little dramatic (with having Sami and Lucas both struggling to come to terms with it) we now have the NEW! IMPROVED! Salem where everyone in OK with everything (including clearly senior citizen Paulina telling Abe about her erotic lesbian dreams and dancing, cross-dressing Santas.)  I guess I don't really get the point of the long exposition about Allie's sexuality if no one in Salem actually cares about it.  Is this supposed to be navel gazing at its finest?

Honestly I work with a lot of people variety of ages and backgrounds most don’t really care but some don’t totally understand.  Maybe that’s the audience the show was addressing?

I get your point, but I am old, and even I knew the difference between gay and bisexual.  Now if they were going to explain, queer, pansexual, demi-sexual, non-binary or gender fluid they might have a chance of talking about something many people don't understand.

Sorry but Leo cracks me up.  Miss his more colorful fashion choices.

Leo is definitely entertaining but for me, I need to see him in small doses and if the show is really trying to reform him, he needs to dial back the cattiness.

I really liked the Sonny, Will, and Chad scenes and I hope we get to see more friendship moments between them.  I don't think Sonny and Will have had a scene with Gabi yet and where is Arianna?

Sooo last week Johnny jumps into Belle and snaps back to being himself, this week Satan is possessing both of them at the same time? This story is so dumb and I need it to be over

I haven't watched today's episode yet, but my understanding is that JoDevil is making it seem like Belle is possessed. She isn't really.

The devil has superpowers now and can do anything and control anybody. What is the point?

Yet the best Old Scratch, aka Beelzebub, can do is infest some small town in the upper midwest which may or may not have a mall with a roof because he just HAS to have an aging, so-so psychiatrist who buys all her clothes from Pant-suits R' Us and is married to a talking Cialis ad.  And currently, said Demon is possessing one of the Scooby Gang.

The Exorcist, this is not.

Original possession was just a rando demon causing havoc, not THE DEVIL. If this is actually Satan himself surely he could do better for himself than breaking up boring couples in Salem

I did legit laugh at Leo going through the list of things that have happened at Salem U Hospital and Craig is like, "Yeah, yeah, old news, you haven't heard anything yet..."

I don't blame Kayla for wanting to give up Chief of Staff, what with its "other duties as required" including janitorial, maternity, and being the only doctor ever on staff.

Kayla talks loudly in public about coworkers.  Not cool Kayla.

Agree, this is the second time in two days (probably the same day in Salem) that she's discussed confidential employee information in public where it can be, and has been, overheard.  And one of the people she's blabbed her big mouth to is her nosey niece the reporter.  If Marlena wasn't so distracted trying to exorcise her daughter, she surely would have heard she's being fired through the grapevine by now.  Kayla's behavior is definitely not cool, surely against hospital policy, and possibly not legal.  Also, her tongue must be a nice shade of brown by now because that was some major ass licking of Abs she did today.

While I think MM is doing well with devil duties, this exorcism is a pathetic, laughable mess.  It's surely a "don't try this at home" type thing, right up there with trying to rewire your whole house or dig your own inground pool.  What in the hell is John and Marlena's reasoning for not calling in a professional when their daughter's life and soul depends on it? Or at least they have been lead to think it does.

They did do that with Chanel.  Or at least Lani mentioned Chanel being pansexual before Chanel said she didn't like labels.

I enjoyed the Will, Sonny, and Chad scenes. They do seem to be real friends and some of the looks on Chad's face as they were talking about setting up him with Leo were priceless. One would think that Leo's ego wouldn't be thrilled at the idea of Chad and would wonder if he was being set up. So the DiMeras invented revenge? All it took was Sonny telling Chad about Leo's sexual harrassment activities to get him on-board?

Can't imagine that the Brady Pub would have tiramisu unless it was Italian Night. I would think more apple pie, carrot cake, ice cream, and chocolate cake.

Why is Kayla talking publically to Abigail about Sarah? First I thought she said Ciara, but I wasn't paying attention. Folks around the ward or reception area could hear that conversation. Abigail's having that syringe full of the drug did set in motion what happened to Sarah.  Kristen had no idea what was in the syringe. So yeah, Abs does have some of the blame for Sarah's condition - on her revenge against Gwen.

The exorcism was dumb. Folks, do not try this at home. Father John didn't think that Johnny might be waiting outside the door? That his behaviour was a little suspicious? He seemed too interested in the exorcism? He didn't like John's necklace? Eventually they will figure out that they did.... nothing.

Yes, if Leo is smart enough to see through some stranger they really think he wouldn't be at all suspicious of Will and Sonny's very close friend.  I always had the impression that Leo was really just yanking Chad's chain with the innuendos and propositions and suddenly he's supposed to believe Chad finds him irresistible?  Why do I think Leo is setting up Chad, Will and Sonny so Craig sees what they're trying to pull?

That really was the lamest exorcism ever.  And first Johnny needed to be in the room then he didn't?  I'm also really over the whole "The power of OUR LOVE will SAVE her."  I get it show.  Everyone who has TRUE LOVE has the most epic, awesomest, wonderfulest, powerfullest love of all time.  I'd say this show has the mindset of a 12 year old girl, but that really is a major insult to 12 year old girls everywhere.

The devil has mad powers, but it needs medical technology (the results of an ultrasound) to know the sex of the baby while a flighty psychic can just glance at an open envelope. 🙄

Dear CIN,

You know a great way to keep the sex of your baby a secret? Just freaking tell the ultrasound tech you don't want to know! They don't give a shit if you are having a boy or a girl so they won't look or give you the answer if you want it to be a surprise.

Sincerely,

Mom of 2 Kids Whose Sexes Were Revealed at Birth When the Nurse Looked Between Their Legs

Yep, yep, yep!  Goes to one of my most common criticisms about the Devil on this show. Sometimes All Powerful, and then sometimes NOT!  All depends on what the script/plot wants.

I wasn’t watching when Leo and his mom were on. Was he really that bad that Sonny would be traumatized by what he did and want to break up Craig’s relationship without even knowing him? I muted most of the conversation with Chad, Will and him because I thought Chad was way over the top in being disgusted by Leo, it verged on homophobic to me.

The poor Belle actress being tied up for days for this crap. I want her back talking to EJ pronto.

I am soooo sick of Jonnydevil talking to himself in that dumb voice. Imagine my delight when in the middle of a soliloquy he flashes back to himself in a made up flashback framing Belle *when did he have time?* and also monologing in said flashback in dumb voice

@tribeca, I found the show on some terrible Youtube site where the sound didn't match the pictures. Oy.

JDevil went through a lot of trouble to frame Belle in to being possessed - tampered with documents, etc. Don't know how he had the time and the ability to do all that. Unless it is just an illusion and someone not tied to anyone in Salem would see a blank page. Belle being possessed seemed too convenient. Granted, the Salem PD at this time is very short staffed and there is more than one current crime to deal with.

Kate is right to warn Gabi about Johnny.

EJ can't exactly stay away from bad, bad Clyde as he shares a cell with him (for now).

Jake is firing on the few Salem brain cells that exist.

EJ remembers who shot him. Nice editing work to combine new and old footage.

Ciara still looks like she is about 3-4 months away from having Devil Baby.

Yes to everything you said!

All I'd add is Johnny's swagger stroll walk that he does sets my teeth on edge.  Devil or not, the first thing everyone should do on greeting him is punch him in his oh-self-satisfied mug.

Clyde: "Good help is hard to find these days."

And doesn't the Salem hospital know it! Preach it Clyde.  And let me be the first to roll out the welcome mat at Chez Cin's.  I think I'm going to enjoy this uninvited guest if he intrudes on the obnoxious love birds.  But that sure was a fast parole board meeting and trip from Statesville. Did Clyde order an Uber and then force the driver to speed the whole way to CIN's new apartment that he knew the address of how???

Allie: "I guess you heard Tripp and I broke up."

"I guess you heard I got my wishy-washy ass dumped," would have been the dialogue I would have gone with.  But I'll give her points for asking the million-dollar question, why does the devil care what the baby's sex is?  Since he's possessed both men and woman, he's apparently an equal opportunity employer.

G-devil: "Surprise, surprise. That'll work."

Won't it have to? My teen in the room during that scene: "What's the surprise? It's either a boy or a girl. Is there a third option for this kid?"

Meanwhile, Belle has no memory whatsoever of doing any devily deeds, but Marlena and Doug knew what was going on even if they were a little hazy on the details. Marlena clearly remembered what she did to Paulina, and even 95-year-old Doug knew the devil left him and went to Marlena. No one, not even law graduate Belle, thinks her complete and utter amnesia is odd?

Shawn the cop is living in Hope the cop's house and it's awfully damn easy to break into.

Plot holes and plausibility issues, Ron. Plot holes and plausibility issues.

I've been wondering if it's twins. That's the only way that line really works.
