Sean Baker is right about the theaters. He is right about the experience but the negative of that is the people who take out the phones to talk or record. That is something I can't take and the prices are becoming ridiculous. I still go but only for certain movies or on a Holiday.

Sean's shoutout to Quentin about Mikey Madison being in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was nice.  A lot of current performers were in that as part of the Manson family.  Her.  Sydney Sweeney.  Maya Hawke.  Austin Butler.

Adrien Brody's speech bugged me way more than Julia Roberts' "man with the stick" moment because she had every reason to believe that was a once in a lifetime moment for her. Have a seat Adrien, and go grab your wadded up gum back from your partner. You'll probably be back in ten years.

I haven't seen it either but it's got a mix of positive and negative. More positive I'd say and it did win at PGA and DGA so that plus the wins tonight are making it look likely for Picture. On the other hand Picture does ranked choice voting and if enough voters don't rank it high enough we may see another La La Land/Moonlight situation (hopefully without the envelope shenanigans).

I doubt it. As Demi's pointed out this season is the first time she's EVER been in the hunt and the voter are also notorious for hesitating to award young actors on the theory they'll be back.

Congrats, Anora!  It was one of those movies I can't exactly say I enjoyed, but it was quite good.  Tough to watch at times, and as I said, surprisingly heartbreaking, but quite good.  Obviously.

Anora wins, but really, Sean Baker is the true winner because he went from zero to four Oscars in one night.  Most only dream of that throughout their entire career.

I don't know if I will ever get around to watching the others including Anora.

One thing I really love about Sean Baker is he's such an ambassador for independent film. He's spent the whole awards season praising it and I'm glad he got to end the night doing it again.
