Hmmm. It sounds like little Donny just realized being POTUS isn't all fun and games.

It was fun and games for him during the first four years?

Once again, I think the main reason why Pence would compromise his religious morals to be Veep was because he’d figure his boss would quit out of rage and/or boredom. Serving the term and getting his life threatened was not on his Bingo card.

Today on his way to his weekend golf trip he’s also ranting about that he hasn’t gotten a Noble Peace Prize four or five times amongst other crazy things

He’s not all there. This week he set Los Angeles on fire and on the edge has made all kinds of threats against Iran could care less about the horrific daily violence against Ukraine was removed from the G7 by his staff because he was an embarrassment has decided to bring back cancer inducing asbestos because Russia is one of top exporters of asbestos

Fun and games? We have a circus of incompetents running the country with the top incompetent who’s like a loose cannon

There is a video online of someone confronting a MAGA at the perade or some rally or another and the person says "we're not stupid, Donald J. Trump is a genius.  What do you think the J stands for?"  Sigh.  I wish that had been a joke but it certainly came across as all too real.

I'm pretty sure that's a video by the Jolly Good Ginger. I follow him on Instagram, and I know he did a post about how a few years ago they did a video mocking Trump supporters. It sounds like him saying "What do you think the J stands for?" I'm pretty sure this is the video he was talking about. It's not serious MAGA (but how sad is it that it's hard to know what's true and what's mocking them?).

Over three months in a Louisiana detention facility. 😡 Remember, he is a US Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder), whose wife is an American citizen. He has no criminal record whatsoever and was never charged with any crime. All he did was speak.

This is wonderful news, but I won't relax until we see him walking free.

Judge orders Columbia University protester Mahmoud Khalil freed from immigration detention center

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/judge-orders-columbia-university-protester-mahmoud-khalil-freed-from-immigration-detention-center

Khalil could walk out of the detention center in rural Louisiana by Friday evening, which is when lawyers for the Trump administration said they expect to release him.

He must surrender his passport and can’t travel internationally, but he will get his green card back and be given official documents permitting limited travel within the country, including New York and Michigan to visit family, New Jersey and Louisiana for court appearances and Washington to lobby Congress.

I may have known that and forgotten it, I had a stroke recently and have some "Swiss Cheese memory " issues ( Quantam Leap reference). Nevertheless,  even if it is new all over again to me, I still find it to be such a great idea.

Well, things are escalating. I’d say no, but maybe next week.

It seems it could be argued in court that glitter bombing is a friendly marketing trend, for which examples could be provided, such as:
A local realtor whose open house I attended and where I signed in, sent me a card inviting me to meet.
When I opened the envelope, glitter spilled out — fortunately large glitter pieces, and fortunately onto the kitchen floor rather than on the carpet. Still, annoying, and confirming I’d made the right choice in signing with another realtor, although the glitter realtor had many positive qualities.

I have a niece in law whose Christmas cards always contained glitter. it got to the point where we just stopped opening them altogether.

Glitter bombing the fun way.  Daughter's in-laws kept making derogatory comments about her newly mobile daughter and her parenting.  I gave granddaughter a Hannukah present in a gift bag surrounded by glitter.  She gleefully flung glitter far and wide in the other grandma's family room and all over the in-laws.  When one auntie asked me if I didn't know about the glitter problem, I merely smiled and said payback is hell.  Word got around not to mess with my daughter.  I think the tactic would work quite well on ICE.

The Wall Street Journal profiles Stephen Miller.

During Trump 1.0 and also during the Biden administration, I continued to read about Stephen Miller and about how much Trump valued his loyalty. (It's ALWAYS about Trump's perception of loyalty.) Miller had been the chief architect on family separations and other evil machinations, quietly operating not quite in the shadows, but never actively searching for the spotlight.

He remained close to Trump and stayed very busy in the four years between the two administrations. I had read elsewhere quite some time ago, that he would bring ideas to Trump. Those that Trump agreed with would be implemented, but more relevantly, when Trump disagreed with Miller's ideas, Miller wouldn't try to change his mind, as other staffers would. He'd go back to the drawing board and work on a different path.

This entire article should be read. It's fairly lengthy, but everyone should be aware of the power behind Trump. It should be available to all without a paywall as the link I'm sharing was re-skeeted by Heather Cox Richardson on her BlueSky.

Here are a few quotes from the article, but be sure to also read the "In the Wilderness" section about what Miller was up to on Trump's behalf during the Biden administration. The entire piece on just how much power this non-elected man is wielding is chilling. I've italicized the quotes. I've bolded a few statements for specific attention.

The 39-year-old immigration hawk, who has been by Trump’s side since the 2016 campaign, has emerged as a singular figure in the second Trump administration, wielding more power than almost any other White House staffer in recent memory—and eager to circumvent legal limitations on his agenda.

He has his own staff of about 30 and a Secret Service detail, which White House officials said was because he had received death threats and serves as homeland security adviser. He has been responsible for the administration’s broadsides against universities, law firms and even museums. He has written or edited every executive order that Trump has signed.

Miller, who isn’t a lawyer, is the official who first suggested using the wartime Alien Enemies Act to deport migrant
s, which the Justice Department pursued. He also privately, then publicly, floated suspending habeas corpus, or the right for prisoners to challenge their detention in court, which the administration hasn’t tried. That prompted pushback from other senior White House and Justice Department officials.

Miller coordinated the federal government’s response [in Los Angeles], giving orders to agencies including the Pentagon, when Trump sent in the Marines and the National Guard, according to officials familiar with the matter.

Even some posts at cabinet agencies have been described by administration officials as reporting directly to Miller, effectively bypassing cabinet secretaries.

Stephen Miller’s Fingerprints Are on Everything in Trump’s Second Term
The deputy chief of staff has played an outsize role in immigration—and amassed more power than almost anyone else at the White House

Do the police know that this creep was telling residents you "should be killed"? Be careful.

I made sure they know about the threats and made a report. That pissed him off more, so I got to hear him ranting about how evil I was. I live a quiet life and I'm friends with most of the residents (they wanted to sneak me out of the building) so I'm sure that me not responding and going about my life has taken the air out of his Trump balloon.

This guy went so off the rails, that I do take it seriously.

These people are sick

In a post after the assassination of State Senator Melissa Hortman they jumped on their vile conspiracy theories and hideous posts

A super MAGA named Alec Lace who has popular podcast called First-Class Fatherhood posted:

“Make no mistake what happened to Melissa Hortman was a message to all Democrats. Your vote against us and your like is at stake”

MAGA inhumanity to mankind is still going strong. You’d think I would stop being outraged out of sheer exhaustion, but you’d be wrong.

So . . . anything Republicans do cannot be changed. If a vote is held and the action is reversed, the GOP can either change the rules to keep benefiting them, or stay silent as their dedicated base threatens lives in a brazenly open manner.

There is a documentary called #Untrith the Psychology of Trumpism.  It is streaming on Tubi for free and other places not free.  It's about Trump and his supporters and does a pretty good job of explaining how and why they feed off each other while the rest of us say WTF. It does have some former Trump supporters like Anthony Scaramucci and Joe Walsh and never Trumper George Conway.  But it also has Ruth Ben Gait.

And yes without a doubt it is cult.

I guess if someone were charaged with assault for doing something like that, if I were their lawyer, I'd be like, "Oh, but I thought assault was how our country did things nowadays!" And then I'd list all the numerous examples of the right using actual violence to try and get their way, or the illegal actions by ICE, or the fact that the guy occupying the White House doesn't give a damn about following the law when it comes to trying to indimidate and go after his own citizens, or the events of January 6th, for which the perpetrators of that attack have since been pardoned. If they can get by with all of that, after all...

Out of all of the options, I'd say having glitter thrown on you is about as innocuous and nonviolent an action as it comes, but hey, what do I know.

I want to remind people how dangerous Trumpers can be.

I watch shows like the Daily Show, Stephen Colbert, and John Oliver.  I use my headphones because I know there are Trumpers in my senior living apartment building (interior hallways). I laughed and repeated something Oliver said about Trump and did not know someone overheard. If I had a knock at my door, I would have apologized for using a swear word. Nope.

He listened at my door for a week, and then started a smear campaign. That wasn't working so well, so he started talking about how I should be killed. He called the police on me, and the officer had to tell him I couldn't be arrested for calling Trump a c*nt.

This is nuts. I'd keep watch on him if I were you.

(ETA: Just saw your other post. I'm so sorry you've had to deal with him. What an asshole creep.)

So, it begins.

US strikes: The US “successfully” struck three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday evening, as the conflict between Israel and Iran enters its second week. American B2 bombers were used in the weekend operation, according to a source.

I was finally leaving the house, as a streamer I was listening to, mentioned that he'd bombed Iran. And he didn't do it the proper way, as usual.

One MAGA mentioned that the Wall Street Journal supports this. I don't give a fuck what they support. That just reminded me of the billionaires who refused to let their papers endorse Kamala, when she was the obvious, and only fucking choice.
