She does realize that the internet exists and we can read that he was funding much of this lifestyle with ill-gotten gains?

This is the punishment (reward?) to viewers like me who don't watch ALL episodes, who fast-forward through MOST episodes...and don't remember to check the 'net. NOW I'll have to search to get the goods.  Or is it the TEA?   I know NOTHING about this....   She probably NEEDS some guy with a lotta bucks to bail her out of some of her sitcheeations.

Ok I have seen 'TPTB' a few times; what does it stand for?

The powers that be.

And this is absolutely not intended as a dig on you for asking, but as a general FYI about something I’ve found very helpful. If you highlight a word or phrase you have a question about, then right click or long press or whatever applies to you the device you’re using, you should get an opinion to “search web for xxx”. That has been useful to me over and over.

Mail fraud, tax fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

John Vassos was awaiting sentencing when he passed away.

Here's a link to the case, Aug. 2019:

https://www.justice.gov/usao-dc/pr/government-contractor-pleads-guilty-acting-pass-through-minority-business-enterprise

From the case:

"According to the statement of offense, Forney and James Redding owned Stadium Club, an establishment in Southeast Washington. In May 2010, Vassos provided approximately $2 million to Forney and Redding to finance the purchase of the property where Stadium Club was built. Additionally, from 2011 until 2014, Vassos loaned hundreds of thousands of dollars to Forney and Redding. Vassos pled guilty in June 2017 to one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud, one count of tax fraud, and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.  He is awaiting sentencing. In May 2015, Redding pled guilty to Tax Evasion and Failure to Pay over Payroll Taxes. He was sentenced to 24 months in prison."

Ain't the internet great??  😉

Lordy - so TPTB are now choosing protagonists with questionable legal backgrounds (admittedly, apparently only of her late spouse, but Joan surely benefitted from his ill-gotten gains) instead of "merely" the eager suitors - just  stunning, & a reflection of the degeneration of our society, IMO.  And of course, Joan works at a "Christian " school...thou shalt not steal, nor bear false witness, anyone??

However, I do find J. physically attractive, with the tall, sylph-like figure we've been brain-washed to find most desirable (prob as it's unattainable by non-ectomorphs), IMO an attractive face, (I must be blind, as I can't really see much of the "work" everyone notes) & lovely eyes (no more vacant than the average...) No obv nose job either!  Personally, I've long felt Rapunzel-like tresses are ridic on seniors, but again, am too ignorant to immediately pick out extensions.  (OTOH, yesterday, Nicole Wallace - my idol - appeared on her show with skimpy hair in an updo - totally unrecognizable!  Does she also use (MANY!) extensions?  If so, you're forgiven EVERYTHING, NW!  Thank you for your service!)

Joan also seems to me like a kind, considerate, intelligent, thoughtful, & equable person, with a work history in IT as well as education. No wonder the guys are ga-ga (save Pascal!) I greatly appreciate J's stance on the Boom-Boom Room, & esp., her compassionate approach to the Bachelors she rejects; in general, I prefer a gentle refusal (a la Pascal) to a brutal banishment.  I do agree, Joan appears to have lived a 2%er lifestyle previously, & seems to have sought prosperous finalists - gotta get someone who can help her repay her late spouse's fines, which are surely applied to John's (is that his name?) estate.

Pascal strikes me as a Casanova so I'd have cut him loose too, his intro package gave me the impression that he's out on the town all the time.

Was Greg the over-talker [update: it was not Greg, it was Chock]? There was one guy would ask a question and then immediately start talking again before she could respond. That would be a giant dealbreaker for me.

I totally agreed with her pick for first impression rose, Keith seems like a lot of fun and very genuine. And it makes sense to me that a woman of certain maturity (and the wisdom that comes along) would look past physical appearance to other qualities.

I didn't like Jack when he first came in singing for WAY too long, but he won me over by the end. She definitely shouldn't pick him for the final guy, but he's pretty entertaining for tv. He seems like the life of the party, but a potential drinking problem there, he was pretty toasted by the end of that cocktail party.

Overall, I really enjoyed the guys hanging out together. Even the mocking didn't seem too mean-spirited, Pascal's response to someone calling his French accent fake was pretty funny.

Quoting myself from the beginning of the season, after Pascal's departure, I went back to episode one. I remember thinking he was "too much" in the beginning, and he definitely did come on strong with the high maintenance stuff, but I found it much more endearing after a whole season.

And honestly, he really did tell Joan who he was right from the start, she shouldn't have been so blindsided. She got so caught up in trying to win his approval, she forgot that he's pretty much been giving her signals all along. He was fun TV so I'm not unhappy she kept him, but also not surprised he bailed before potentially getting to the final 2.

More importantly, though it was not Greg who was the over-talker, it was CHOCK. Wow, did he come off even worse after a full season of him. He stood out to me (well, didn't know his name then) as a candidate for a night 1 departure, the overtalking was so obnoxious. He also overuses her name in addition to the overzealous eye contact, it has such a hard sell vibe to it.

It always shows more on the rewatch how much he really didn't connect with the guys in the house. Whenever you see the group having fun, he's either not with them or standing around on the fringes.

On another note, I FINALLY, FINALLY realized who it is that Chock sounds like, it's the narrator from A Christmas Story. That's been bugging me all season.

I don't watch every episode, and I fast-forward through others. Chock (first of all, maybe that name is great "back home," but...well...nothing) was  offputting from Day One.  Typical successful salesman...heavy on the SUCCESSFUL.  Wonder what the follow-up is when he makes the sale. The constant compliments would drive me batty, but Joan seems to love that crap stuff.

The late, great Gene Shepherd.  Used to listen to him tell stories on late night radio in NJ in the 1960s.  I don't hear that in Chock at all; just a big midwestern phony trying to "win" like Devin with Jenn last season.   Good luck to them all.

Another vote for Gene Shepard. Many a night on the radio in NJ, what a voice.

Unrelated to Gene Shepherd but to the whole "Chock" business, I was watching an old Antiques Roadshow from Portland, OR last night in an effort to avoid everything else on TV and a guy brought in his grandfather's old letterman's sweater and a Rose Bowl trophy from 1942.   The trophy was engraved to "Choc" Doe and the guy said his grandfather as a child was addicted to chocolate so they all started calling him Choc and it stuck his whole life.  Could that be where he got that weird name?

Pascal said Chock was not friendly with the other guys and that he was out of line hogging her on the bowling date.

I watch sporadically, but I DID see that "hogging" on the bowling date.  She loved it; and she should have been concerned about ignoring the other guys.  Maybe Chock is a player...maybe Joan is too.

They are both weird. Joan has a good job but she seems like she is used to a man leading her around, they remind me more of my parents generation (Silent Generation) except that Joan likes to dress hotsy totsy. lol

Does Jordan have zero personality? I don't think we heard him say anything tonight.

It was definitely odd that the #4 finalist got no screentime whatsoever. I think that shows that while Jordan did not connect with Joan, he also didn’t connect with the men. This was a little odd with there being no drama/fighting in a Men/Women tell all, it was pretty nice just seeing a bunch of people who all seemed to genuinely connect with and care about each other.

Joan, the lead, was the least interesting part of the Men Tell All (and the season of Golden Bachelorette, if I'm being honest).

These guys are great. I really love that they all genuinely like each other. Sweet Charles! I've missed him. He colored his hair, got the requisite makeover after appearing on TV. haha

I read in an article posted in the media section that apparently Jordan and his Chicago schlong have been seen out with Gerry's F2 Leslie. That's a match I can actually see.

I noticed Sandra in the audience. Let's get her a date with one of these guys!

The men tell all:

I loved every minute of this show, but I teared up so much it was getting ridiculous. The love the men have for one another is just wonderful to see. I can see why Joan missed them, heck, I missed them.
Mark is such a lovely lovely man, Charles does have a pure heart, I prefer him with a little  grey in his hair, the really  dark dye job doesn't  suit him, jmho.
Obviously Joan made a good impression  on them all, she helped  them to open their hearts. Then there's  Jonathan,  I read somewhere  people  thought he was a player, I never  thought  that, he's  gorgeous,  and I'm so happy  he's met someone.
When their children  were watching  and crying,  I'd start up again, goodness.
Pascal is a rascal, he led the meditation,  and didn't  know a thing about it, he looked  very handsome  tonight, as did his son.
I love the dress Joan is wearing  in the finale, it's beautiful,  I loved the dress she wore tonight as well.

This ep proved we didnt need Joan at all. I just want a show with all these guys hanging in a house, going on adventures, cooking hamburgers and doing laundry. It was obvious that these men probably needed friendship more than they needed love, it’s hard to make friends when you’re older so this ep was really uplifting that way.

And I think I realized that being tall, thin and blond can blur a lot of other things out. I think from afar Joan is a striking woman but whatever she’s done to her face wasn’t needed and continues to distract me a bit. I think she’s probably a nice lady and I hope this works out for her (I don’t think it will but nice to hope).

Being a woman in Joan's age range (I'm 62), I can attest to how hard it is to find friends at this stage in life.

As a woman, we can join women's groups, playing Bunco, knitting, lunch groups etc.

But for men, it's so much more difficult.  If they don't golf, hunt, fish....what is there?

When women sit and play games together, they talk and share and get to know one another.

When men get together to play golf, they are competitive and rarely talk about much other than the game.  Men will often return home to their wives, and the wife will ask the man how the golf partner is doing in his personal life, and the man will have no idea, lol.

So for these men to have found a compatible group, snoring and all lol, is so lovely.  I do hope they find lifelong friends.

My dad found such a group, in quite a bad way at first, but which ended up to be lifelong friends.  After a quadruple bypass, he was put into a cardio rehab program, which required 3-4 x/week early morning workouts with a physical therapist, with a group who were all going through similar cardio issues.  The group became very tight knit, and the night my father passed, they were the first people I called.

You are 100% right.  My husband  plays golf and poker every week.  He loves his friends.  I played it all years ago .. mahjong, canasta, etc.  Been there, done that.  Now, I love to read and watch crap tv and Turner Classics.  We shop together, and go to doctors together.  It works.  It seems Joan wants the high life .. dinners, traveling, getting glammed up.  It takes a special man who will want that.  I think she expects too much.  What gets me is why they picked a woman whose husband did illegal things and was under investigation. ??????

Welp, I guess we can add boob job to Joan's list of surgical upgrades - there is no way a 61 yo woman who has birthed kids and is that thin has boobs like that! I will not miss Joan's scraggly hair and overly sexy wardrobe when this ends.

This was my favorite episode this season because it featured the true stars of this show - the Mansion Men! I loved all of it! Charles and Pascal were the stars. The "haircut", the eye masks (with lopsided cucumbers!) and "meditation", Jack in the tub, and all the snoring and grunting. Loved it. I could just watch them all season - forget Joan! Their friendships with each other make them all the true winners. I bet these relationships last longer than Joan and whichever guy she picks.....

I teared up when Jonathan read the post-its from Mark. What a wonderful group. I am so glad Jonathan found somebody, and not just for him, but for me so that I don't have to watch him and his unfortunate fashion and tattoo all season as the next GB......

The Gay Men's Choir singing Kim's song was hilarious. But the funniest part to me was Jesse singing all the words from the side of the stage.

Please ABC, I need Goldens in Paradise now. Make it happen!

Jesse was a wonderful choice as host.

Wrong network,  but they need a season of Real World, Golden Edition.
