3/5 with 1* (Marie, Jeannie & Douglas).  For Monday, I got lost in the Channel Islands and never made it south.  On Tuesday, I was too busy desperately trying to remember the relationship between Adlai and Adlai II to even get to a guess. All the sweet treats sound amazing so I will offer up some beef barley soup as a prequel.

Week 15 • December 16 – Three Asterisks
71.     *GEOGRAPHY - Jebel Musa in Morocco & Mount Hacho near Ceuta are candidates for the southern half of this pair  (The Pillars of Hercules)
72.     ANTHEMS - The unofficial anthem of this U.K. territory mentions kelp, penguins & "the wind from the Horn" (Falkland Islands)
73.   FICTIONAL CHARACTERS - Dressed in white in her first scene, this play character says her name means "white woods" (Blanche Dubois)**CORRECTION
74.     *SUPER BOWL HISTORY - It's the only team to play in the Super Bowl before Neil Armstrong's Moon walk that has not been back to the Big Game since (Jets)
75.    *MOVIES & THE LAW - "Drafters... have to have a little fun sometimes", said the author of this law when asked if he was inspired by 1931's "Little Caesar" (the RICO Act)

Well, seeing Wednesday's FJ makes me think I must have seen a different episode that day. I am 100% sure I watched Jeopardy that day, but have absolutely no memory of that final jeopardy question.

Don't remember what FJ I saw on Wednesday, though, and can't say for sure if I would have known Bhutan.

Another rough week with three asterisks. Alas, it was zero for me.

According to the archive (and what I saw):

  • Monday was Geography/Pillars of Hercules*
  • Tuesday was Fictional Characters/Blanche DuBois
  • Wednesday was Anthems/Falklands
  • Thursday was Super Bowl History/Jets*
  • Friday was Movies & The Law/RICO*

Did some areas get a wrong game? Because I kind of recall Bhutan as a response at some point but it was a while ago.

This is what my week was, also. I remember all of those questions.

Still 0/5 so it doesn’t change my score! I got stuck on “Bianca” for “white”.

I remembered the Jets due to living in NY at the time and Joe Namath being so popular.

Mom was a huge sports fan, cheering in front of the TV on weekends, including for OJ, but Joe Namath too, while Dad was either doing yard work or in the basement making furniture or jewelry.
I'm more like Dad, but the late night TV comics have been making fun of the Jets lately, especially Aaron Rodgers, who we all recall was a Jeopardy! guest host before his far out thinking was out in the open. Sheesh. I was such a sucker for those eyes. Oh well, thanks, Aaron, for getting me a FJ via Stephen Colbert jokes.

But before I went with Jets, I was going to say Bears, just because it was a team I knew from Chicago.
So I'm bringing deep dish, Chicago-style pizza with mushrooms, spinach, and artichokes, which are probably not all on this one:

A big ol' 1/5, 1/3*.  RICO was a lucky guess.  Don't remember knowing anything about that movie, but is sounded like it might have a gangster in it, and I was vaguely aware of what the RICO law covers.  I guess it was karma balancing out for my total brain freeze earlier in the week, when I could not drag the name of the Falklands out of my head.  Got as far as f-a-  Faraday?  Farragut?  That place where they had a war...

Fun fact, all the FJ's this week were either triple stumpers or triple gets.

1/5 0* I just got Blanche DuBois.

I could not get on the site until just a few minutes ago.  Didn't know what to do with myself all day.

I spent a ridiculous amount of time following Youtube videos to wrap 2 presents without using ribbon. Now I know to get ribbon when it's on sale.

BTW, just FYI, the site is still having some issues.

As corrected by @ams1001 (thank you) Wednesday's FJ in my list was in error. Not quite sure how that happened, but I'll blame it on the racket in the house (carpets being replaced by hardwood). yeah, that's what I'll do. It's now corrected on my original post.

I'll be at the doughnuts & bagels table. I got a big, fat ZERO this week.  Obviously, no asterisks.

I'm gonna go cuddle with my cat.

Zero for me too. I'll continue the blame and blame it on the contractors messing up my mind. 😉

Nah, it was my own error. Thank you for the correction.

Totally valid excuse! But well worthwhile!
My sister showed up unexpectedly from 5 hours away in another country during the pandemic at my daughter's when my daughter & hubby were going through the same reno. Don't ask.

To me, Little Caesar is a brand of pizza I have never eaten, and that's all.

Pizza pizza! That was a staple dining option for me, back in the ‘90s. Two pizzas meant dinner and lunch for days, on the cheap. A reasonable person might question how they could afford to sell two pizzas for, what was it, about $6? I never did, but my more sensible side forbade me to purchase any more once I started to earn a more respectable paycheck. Still have a little nostalgic love for the toga-wearing pizza guy, though, not gonna lie.
