Opening boxes and working at Sears aren’t hardships. It’s called working. Sai upped her story with the alcoholic mom. It’s not that I don’t feel compassion, but it seems like a contest of the worst childhood.

I’m close in age to Jenna and I’m happy to jump in the pool and stop worrying about how I look.  Of course being on camera is harder. Still i would love to see her jump in the water.

When they said let’s have some fun i didn’t realize that taking pictures is considered fun. I did hear someone say something about getting content. Apparently ass pics are content.

I think that they can't have fun (only Brynn can according to her IG, but not in connection to them), and they are too aware of the cameras, a lethal combination. They are a lot younger than the original cast right now, so there is no excuse (example, Lu and Ramona together on their recent Bravo show). They are on the show to promote their businesses, but those tend to be "fun" businesses (fashion, influencing, and yes even real estate- did Erin watch any of the related shows on Bravo only, one by her boss, Fredrik Eklund of Million Dollar Listing NY?), so there is no need to be so serious. I think it's just their personalities. Erin, you are not a good representation of NY like you claim.

Seriously, Jessel expected to do a lot more during her first year, or so working in NY at 22? She is entitled.

This was a boring episode.

I think that individuals after watching original episodes and countless reruns for 15 years idealized the OG show.

All of this… which god love em is fine but let’s be realistic here .. plus this whole genre has kind of run it’s course if we are all gonna be honest..

The business class thing makes me laugh, because these women have tons more money than I have and I fly business/Mint when possible. If it's not available I'll book two coach seats so I can relax without close encounters with total strangers. And I don't know how long their official trip was, but I also don't spend a day flying each way just to spend 72 hours somewhere, so I'd also tack on private time.

They feel like she's out of their league, so they're intent on proving that SHE thinks so.

I’m wondering what Erin feeds her family for dinner.  She doesn’t seem to like food.  I liked her in the beginning, but now, she’s just a big yenta.  I also doubt they all were friends before this show, but were just put together.  They do not compare with any of the original cast at all.  They just don’t have what it takes.  I don’t know how it works, but Andy should try to get the old cast back.  Whoever will come.

I appreciate the reboot; these women aren't perfect, but the old lineup was so stale. I thought the WAP conversation was pretty entertaining. Erin's appalled reaction was predictable but funny ("Who wants a wet ass?").

I was far less entertained by the demands that Jenna "open up" that were only appeased when she started to cry. You can't force intimacy, especially with people who are generally private. Making Jenna express her hurt in front of the group isn't going to encourage her to be more forthcoming with her feelings. And turning all group events into unofficial therapy isn't the move for a Real Housewives episode.

I'm hoping that something was cut out in the editing, otherwise they all really seemed like complete assholes for criticizing Jessel's story. Jessel isn't very likeable (seriously? Being a snob about the kind of bag Sai stores her mother's ashes in?), but if the group is going on about "opening up," and she tries to do so, now they're reviewing her performance because it wasn't interesting or humble enough?

I think why they had an issue is she didn't talk about her childhood .. she started out when I was 21 I moved to ... she talked about everyone else but not what they seemed to ask her .... which cool your uncle painted but how does that connect to what they asked .. shes trying to portray she was a poor immigrant but she comes from a wealthy fam ..which is fine but dont try to play the down n out dirt poor I built myself angel cause its not true

From the editing into multiple cuts (prejudicial) I took the issue as her yammering on and on about her entire family saga, as opposed to the "tell us something deeply personal that has molded you into the person you are today" stories that others had shared, stories that might make the others think twice about the motivations behind certain behaviors, and be more charitable. Uncles sleeping on park benches and then becoming photographers isn't the same thing as infant neglect, parental abandonment, foster care, being raised by a woman who tolerated no emotions and no sound from a child. "I may have been born in London, but I had an immigrant family and never felt like I fit in at home or at school" would have been more illuminating.

But there are many immigrants in London (which is multicultural and multinational), especially of Indian descent, she would probably fit in. As for the uncles in Paris (who were not her parents), photographers that are not successful (yet, because at least one became successful) can be starving. She didn't say anything about herself. But, I admit that she can throw some funny shade.

I've been a defender of this cast, and I still do think that some of them are naturally funny and interesting, but ... this episode. Oof. You know it's bad when I start nostalgically yearning for Turtle Time.

All this sharing and we still don't know what Brynn does for a living

At this rate we may not know for decades. Apparently new evidence in the Kennedy assassination has only recently come to light.

It doesn’t bother me — they are just getting to know one another.  🤷‍♀️.  Then we get to know them.  I like the pretty scenery and seeing what they wear.  This group is younger than me, so to me, watching them is a bit like a sociology project.   😁

As a sociologist I wholeheartedly agree!

Sai can be annoying, but I got the sense that she was joking when she made that comment about working at Sears being a hardship.

So, I have an 11 wk old baby born via IVF in New York City. I did it myself, via a sperm donor, with help from a very good private clinic in Midtown. I had worked with NYU Fertility before I found my awesome new clinic and jumped ship on NYU to go with the smaller private group.

Regarding the embryo debate, I can say from personal experience that I was NEVER pressured to name a donor. The egg freezing process was its own thing; many women decide to freeze their eggs as a safety net for the future, and have no idea what or who that future might include. The decision to freeze eggs is largely a "Hey, I'm single and contemplating the future. Maybe this would be a good insurance policy in case I don't meet The One before it gets too late!" kind of thing.

My own partners never ended up including anyone I'd feel confident parenting a child with, but it was super important to me to be a mother. So, I went for it with the help of a donor from a sperm bank. My daughter is beautiful and healthy and thriving, and while the concept of creating embryos from the jump was acknowledged, it was only presented as an option. I think the majority of women who show up for their consultation appointments alone are understood to be Single Mothers By Choice, and there is a sensitivity provided to them and an understanding that they are probably going it alone and might be using a donor in at some point the future.

If either NYU or my eventual chosen clinic had made me feel like a partner/donor was implicit to the process, I would have left. Because I was largely where Brynn purports to have been, which was doing a "safety net" mission to ensure that I had things secured for the future, however that ended up taking shape. Freezing eggs when you know you want kids at some point does not require a partner at the time of retrieval, and to (allegedly) shame someone into giving a donor's name at that juncture would be an unfair and unorthodox practice, if true.

All that to say, either Brynn went to a ridiculous and shamefully managed practice, or she's BS'ing. The option to create embryos from the jump was certainly floated to me, but never pressed. I would have been shocked for them to have held me to a future decision of dedicating a donor from the beginning when I was completely unsure where my life would be in the coming years.

this show is so bad - maybe Bravo should have had these women/strangers hang out 6 months prior to filming so they get to know each other.  This gives me "The Real World on Wish vibes".

I will be with JFL forever - and I loved how she morphed into CEO Fashion God with the beach photo shoot.  Her whole demeanor changed and I'm here for THAT JFL!

Hopefully, now that they got the ‘very special episode’ out of the way-they’ll start to let their hair down and have some actual fun.  I like the show enough to see where it goes.  I watched the OG Orange County season before and found it pretty boring, as well. Its hard to find that happy medium between too boring and All-Screeching & Fighting over Dumb Stuff-All-The-Time.

Jenna and her body dysmorphia is hard to watch. No matter how she got there, I just wish she could let go and enjoy herself instead of watching everyone frolic in the water while she’s on the beach under a bedsheet. Her body is the type aspired to in the fashion world yet she thinks she has a tummy (convo with her  brother). Her skin has discolouration in places and she was teased for it as a child (time to get past the childhood trauma of that and act like you don’t care.)

I know her childhood trauma is very real and still impacts her. I would have thought she would have gotten therapy by now as it’s negatively impacting her life. I like her and felt so sad that her insecurities are still so strong that she sits on the sidelines. It’s hard to watch as I cycle from understanding to being frustrated with her and back again.

I'm sorry but this sounds a little insensitive to me even though I know that wasn't your intent.  When I was a preteen I had a condition that left dark scars on my legs.  I wasn't teased to my face but I could hear people say under their breath how ugly my legs looked.  To this day I have never worn shorts, bathing suits or anything that showed my legs.  At work I wore double dark panty hose to hide them.  I identify so much with Jenna and how she feels because no matter how much you try to ignore people's rude remarks it still hurts so bad when you hear them.  And I've had plenty of therapy mind you.  Therapy doesn't always cure everything.  Where Jenna has it all over me is she was brave enough to go on a reality show and talk about her body issues.  I applaud her for that.

Don't forget Rosie - Countess LuAnn's live-in housekeeper/nanny!!!

I'm lucky if I can remember all of this new group of housewives' names, never mind any of their family members.

Have the Real Housewives' franchises finally jumped the shark?

The only BRAVO shows I have watched, for any length of time, are a few of the Housewives shows and Southern Charm.  Since I retired, I sometimes have BRAVO on during the day when they are running marathons of the old seasons, which are actually just much better. Yesterday, they ran old OC until 6:00 PM, when they switched to re-runnimg the current season. I changed the channel and realized I have done that with other shows. Kind of says it all. As for NY, I was mildly hopeful when the first episode had some nice Real Estate Porn. Unfortunately, that only takes a show so far. I just can't with these women. I have yet to make it through a second episode. NY was my favorite franchise for years until Leah and Eboni ruined it. But this train wreck was not the answer.  Yes. I do believe the shows have officially jumped the shark.

Jenna is still the only one who is remotely interesting. I find their conversations banal, super lame, sadly juvenile, but above all else BORING. As far as Jenna flying first class and going a day early, that's none of their gd business. She's older than they are, and if she wants to do that, it's inane for them to even bring it up. The idea of being cramped on a plane with these cackling nitwits sounds horrific. Fighting, arguing, manufacturing drama, trying to sound current by bringing up a vulgar song from three years ago, which by today's standards is 100 years, makes these morons, who are either in their 40s or pushing 40, sound like desperate and thirsty try-hards.

I, for one, am very grateful that we no longer see Ramona's shit on the floor.  Hope she has seen a dr about that.

Didn’t Brynn say something about teaching yoga or something when she was talking about tanning her vagina?

That must be really expensive Yoga.
