JENNY FROM PERU IS COMING ON THE SHOW?! Nice! Hearing Evelin saying he still wants to stay with a whore is a bit funny. Doesn't she have a reputation like that or am I mistaken?

It's gonna be a Whore Off cage match!

So did Bini cheat or is Ari looking for an excuse to not go back?

I'm betting she's trying to drag this out (first it was a "month," but on the facetime, she said it had been two months...) and just trying to come up with whatever-the-hell to fight about so she can act like HE did something horribly wrong and MADE HER not come back.  Because reasons.

Gee, Ari, you bought a ticket to take his child away for a month AND booked surgery for the child without his consent...and you are complaining about HIS activity?

Yes, looks like you got it in one!

Good night snarkers! Have a great week! I love you all. Keep those masks on!

Covid is the best excuse ever. Areola hit the jackpot on the timing.

Meant to tell you that I got my Pfizer booster Friday with absolutely no reaction. The nurse told me the Pfizer booster is the same dosage as the first two, but the Moderna, when it's approved, will be a half dose because it was a stronger shot in the first place.

Is Turkish wine an good?

I'll bet it is, then again I don't have much of a refined palate. I'm happy with Two Buck Chuck!

I looked it up and found this:

"Is Turkish wine good?

Turkish wines tend to have solid and well-balanced acidity and great fruit flavors so they work well with a number of dishes. ... Also, Turkey's Narince is comparable to Chardonnay and Boğazkere is perfect for fans of Cabernet Sauvignon.”"

works for me! I'm sure I wouldn't spit it out

Is @Eldemarge here? Did she start the new job? Did she make out with her male co-worker? Enquiring minds want to know.

Oh no, I just saw this @Auntie Anxiety!  Starting my new job tomorrow morning AND no, I haven't made out with the coworker yet but I did tell him I was down if he's interested and I was feeling some "I don't hate this idea" coming from his end but I think he was also stunned.  I'm pretty blunt about these things.  I promise to report back if anything happens with this situation in the future!  Thanks for thinking of me!

What booster is this?  Are you talking about your third?

Yes, third Pfizer shot, at least six months past your second if you're 65+ (like me), or immunocompromised due to things like current chemo, HIV or on high dose steroids. So far it's the only booster that's been approved but Moderna should be coming on board soon. J&J is still compiling data about the need for a booster.

Why does Ari have to go to the US for an entire month? My grandson had a three hour surgery to fix a birth defect on his penis this Summer when he was 15 months old and was fine the next day.

How many barbershop scenes have we seen? Off the top of my head I can think of Jihoon, Mike, Eric, Jay, and now Biniyam. Am I forgetting any?

They also do not care for Steven.

Babies and little kids heal very fast. No way she needs to be in the US for a month. Well, except that she wants to enjoy the comforts of home. I think cable, reliable internet, fresh baked bagels, Sephora, and Mommy and Me are in short supply in Addis Ababa.

It makes a nice change from the nail salon and the coffee shop.

Wow. Like most days, I didn’t do anything.

Yesterday I:  Cleaned up a small pile of clothes debris at the foot of my bed that I had been staring at for two weeks and organized it and organized two drawers in the bathroom.  Both tasks took me about 45 minutes yet I procrastinated for weeks.  WEEKS.

And yes I was into the Pats/Bucs game but it was not as blockbuster as I thought.  It was endearing to see the Pats fans cheer for Brady when he came on the field.  They should!  The man brought six rings to that town, and yes I remember VIVIDLY the Bear beating down the Pats in 1986 - NO ONE was a Pats fan then, lol.

Those were my thoughts yesterday as I was about to stream the episode and my hubby came home sooner than later.  I was like;  "Quick!  Quick!  Stop!" as I was not about to hear "Hey I thought you gave up on that show!"  It would be in fun, but.......resistance IS futile.

I think she will be leaving Ethiopia with Avi for good, and then Bini will never see him again. Sad, huh? 😢

Summeat got his hair cut right out in the street.  Apparently that's a thing in India.

@Eldemarge, let us know how it goes with the coworker.  Omit no details, please.

Oh, that's right! So there are almost as many barber scenes as beauty salons/mani-pedis.

Bini’s sisters need to formulate a plan to get Bini a surprise vasectomy for his next birthday. They can take him to the spa, make him sit over some hot steam (like Areola did) and burn off his bits. Cheap and effective. Because you know damn well that he will never learn his lesson wrt American sex tourists.

My last week living there (briefly, for 6 months, and after multiple self-inflicted head shavings and mohawks), I had my friends take me to a local barber shop, so I could go sightseeing and take the requisite pics in front of the Taj and all.

I swear @Floatingbison, with the dingy walls, unkempt stations -- and not seeing any of the combs in Barbicide/Windex/blue Gatorade that we're used to here -- I would have preferred to have been outside. As I recall, I averted my eyes to the ceiling as much as I could.

Not saying all of the country is like that, a lot of the culture shock was just from growing up spoiled in the West. And the Sharp/TLC overlords play up the poverty porn relentlessly 🤬

Why didn't Bibi just ask Ari to show him her return flight reservation? As a rule, isn't it cheaper to buy a roundtrip ticket...I mean, if you ARE planning to return, that is.

She probably does have a round trip ticket, but during Covid the airlines basically dropped their change fees so she could stay in the US as long as she wants without a penalty or just forfeit the return fare or get a voucher for a future trip ANYWHERE the airline flies

Hugs to you, friend. Mine had necrotizing enterocolitis, he was in NICU and needed surgery on his bowel at four weeks old. He was so tiny. When he got back from surgery he was full of morphine and they had a towel over his eyes and one over his feet so I sat by the crib for a day just watching his little chest go up and down.

A hernia repair is fairly straightforward, and most of the time the kids don't even stay in the hospital overnight! Ari's father is a doctor and her mother's a nurse, for crying out loud. They could have reassured her, helped her understand Avi's condition, and de-escalated Ari's panic. But nooooooooo. Though I'm convinced that Janice was praying for Avi to need some kind of small medical intervention so they'd have an excuse to whisk Avi and Ari back to the US.

My first had a high bilirubin count and had to stay in the nicu under lights for 5 days, tiny eye mask and a diaper made out of a face mask, had to leave him, went home without a baby, schlepped to the hospital everyday to feed him and stare at him...ugh, I cried constantly.  When it is your first everything is new, when something is wrong it is ten times worse, I feel for Ari but seriously, do some research before you make decisions without considering Bini.  For all she knows that hernia surgery could be out patient surgery, the baby is very young and will not even remember this.

Ari said she would be gone a month, the preview showed her on a skype call and mentioned she had been gone for two months, hmmm.

She will never go back to Ethiopia. I bet she's already got another man in the wings. Seems like her MO. Dumps her husband, runs into Bini's arms. Leaves poor weeping Bini behind, knowing he can't come to the US, and that he doesn't have the money or resources to pursue a trans-Atlantic custody battle. She can forget he exists and zero in on her next victim.
