I keep saying that I am going to quit these goofy bastards, but here I am, scouring the internet for any gossip I can find. According to the Instagram account, bravoduckingbravo, Season 8 will start shooting soon. Venita Aspen is supposed to be a new cast member. The rest of the main cast all appear to be back.

Rumors:

Madison and Austin are supposedly back together. Just in time for filming. Of course.

Kathryn and her boyfriend broke up.  

Craig is dating Paige from Summer House.

I’m wondering if any of the off season antics of past and present cast members will make the show, such as Naomie’s breakup, Kathryn losing custody, Michael the Butler’s stroke.

I really hope they keep their fake relationship just for the cameras, like do what you want as adult famewhores but I really side eye both of them for this when she has a young child. 

I imagine Michael’s stroke will come up. I can’t imagine Naomie’s break up will unless she comes back on the show which I hope she doesn’t for her own sanity.

"Patricia Altschul's beloved butler Michael Kelcourse is in the hospital after suffering a stroke.

Altschul's son, Whitney Sudler-Smith, revealed that the Southern Charm fan-favorite suffered an acute spinal cord stroke, which "has caused significant nerve damage and impairment."

"I am sorry to inform you that Michael Kelcourse, affectionately known as 'Michael The Butler,' recently suffered an acute spinal cord infarction which is often called a 'spinal cord stroke,'" Sudler-Smith told Bravo's The Daily Dish. "Although this tragedy has caused significant nerve damage and impairment, with the help of the outstanding physicians at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, we are hopeful Michael will soon recover. Thank you for respecting Michael's privacy during this challenging time."

Altschul, 79, did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

Kelcourse has worked for the reality star for nearly two decades and has appeared alongside Altschul on Southern Charm since season 1.

Instagram lurking for Season 8 clues:

So Kathryn just posted a picture of her boyfriend marking 12 months together, so as of that moment, they are/were together. I am convinced, noting her past emotional stability and healthy relationships, that they’ve had at least 12 breakups/makeups in the same time frame.

Shep is still dating Taylor. I don’t know if he’s matured, if she’s crazy, or if she’s being held hostage. She seems normal and very pretty, even after a year of Shep. 

Craig’s store for his pillow business looks darling. He’s a lying dumbass but even I can recognize that he’s done well with his business. I expect that they will film ad nauseum there. Ditto for Leva’s bars. 

Danni was so uncomfortable to watch last year. Her discomfort with filming is palpable. Bravo constantly trying to spin the friendship between Kathryn and Danni as the gosh darn bestest friends is unwatchable horseshit. Danni is probably a decent human in real life so she has no business on reality tv.

I still continue to give not one shit about Austin.

Well if they're filming now or soon (like the fall), South Carolina is going through a lot of covid cases now.

On a per-capita basis, they're in the top 10 or top 5 in various measures.

But they already did their pandemic season so maybe they will pretend things are back to normal.

Maybe Charleston is better than the rest of the state but you would figure low vaccination rates and low use of masks and distancing.

The cast who own stores or other retail establishments would probably want things opened up.  But a big part of SC and reality shows in general is filming a lot of scenes at venues like restaurants or clubs.  

I don't know how cold or rainy it gets in Charlestown in the fall or winter but if they're going to film at restaurants, probably better to do it sooner before the weather turns, so they can film outside.

I taped last night and am watching now.  So, is this a preview of the new season?  I see Cameron has big lips.  Plastic surgery she didn’t need.  Guess the viewers in the background are commenting on the new show.  Waiting to see if Shep comes back.  We NEED Southern Charm again.  The housewives were horrible this season.

I’m not sure why Bravo is so convinced of her appeal. Without Thomas to ricochet crazy off of each other, she really has no watchable story line. All the drama with her losing custody of her kids should remain off camera, for the sake of those poor kids’ little souls. She has wreaked havoc on her natural beauty and is unrecognizable from even the last season. Her complete lack of fashion sense and unskilled hand with makeup, while hilarious and sad at the same time, don’t replace her total lack of charm. She’s not sympathetic. She’s not engaging. She’s not amusing. Slapping on fake tanner, gluing on fake eyelashes, and squeezing into designer labels two sizes too small, do not a personality make. Let her go, Bravo.

No mention of Danni, thank goodness. She was so uncomfortable to watch, especially last season. Wonder who will be Kathryn’s chief apologist now? 

 

Oh lawd Madison again?!  UGH this show is a ghost of it's former self.  Unless my mood changes I think I'm gonna skip this season

They both must be desperate for a storyline.  Not sure who is worse, but if I have to watch ANYONE pine over Austen, I refuse to watch.

Ewwww. I tried to watch Winter House for some unexplained reason. The plot included 2 women out of the group wanting Austen. Like, seriously show, do you think anyone bought that? Granted all the men were complete losers, but Austen was so somehow the Prize?

For your sake then, I hope you avoided “Winter House” like the plague, because watching multiple attractive young women pining away over Muppet Mouth was all kinds of gross. I had to quit watching after three episodes; kinda sickening to see this loser being treated like a stud just because he’s tall!

🤢🤮 oh lawd!  Is Whit still trying to keep this dream alive?

So this is video was done in Oct so it's a bit outdated but it compiles all the rumors and such that we know so far for S8 into a nice little package..

This says that Kathryn and Chleb Ravenell broke up in November. So they filmed as boyfriend and girlfriend and then split. Hmmm...

Madison really used the A-Rod thing to vault herself up a level in Bravolebrity Land.

Yes, I have a hard time believing anyone would hook up with Austen for free. 

Random thoughts:

  • It looks like Pringle wasn’t asked back as a full cast member.
  • I like anyone who calls KD out on her crap. Chleb, here’s your Emmy/Gold Star/Blue Ribbon for actually living with her during filming. I’m surprised he was made a full cast member, though. 
  • Renob is back.
  • No Danni. Not surprised. She actually became more uncomfortable on camera as the years rolled on. Probably a lovely person among real humans.
  • Do we really think that’s a real wedding for any of that crowd? I think it’s more likely a pet wedding from Patricia’s menagerie. They’re smarter and probably more fully realize the consequences of their actions.

I was just coming here to express my joy of Renob back on my tv *sarcasm* 🙄  Whit give it up.

My guess is the wedding is some sort of thing for Miss P's pets.  IDK, anything but for the original cast.  I have heard NOTHING of anyone getting hitched on this show.

I had read that Danni wasn't coming back last year.  I think it was her decision to tap out.

All in all I'm glad the show is coming back!  I've missed these crazy loons ❤️

@Babyfoot looks like you were right about Pringle.  According to this site he isn't full time anymore.  Just friend of I guess. Meh, I had honestly forgotten about John Pringle.

The website also explains who the other people are which is good because there were too many blonde chicks in the trailer and I couldn't keep track of who's who.

Really not looking forward to the Craig and Naomie reunion though it doesn’t surprise me. Otherwise she would have much of a story, but really, I’m pretty disappointed. Happy that Madison isn’t going to be on much. She’s just nasty.

So if Craig has a shit-eating grin, he'd be justified somewhat.

But I think a lot of this is ginned up.  Like that one season where they repeatedly played that stupid Instagram video of muppet mouth supposedly in a threesome and built a whole plot for him and Madison over it.

Agreed, I think Naomi gets the untouchable princess treatment on SC a’la Cameron because she’s so pretty/accomplished and from a good family while being very well-liked by Patricia. It’s quite obvious that Naomi desperately wants the life and secure husband situation that Cameron has too. 


But I also think she has a snobby mean streak that she doesn’t hide nearly as well as Cameron does; she was every bit as toxic with Craig in that relationship as he was and has had nasty interactions with nearly everyone in that group. She also is very well aware of how her power suddenly shifted when her future doctor boyfriend she’d ditched everything for made her look like a fool…she knows the show gave her and her clothing business the boost necessary to keep herself afloat.

There’s not a doubt in my mind that Cameron would also be crawling back to the show again if she was getting divorced. The money/status is just too good, especially if you’re single and struggling. Although the thought of Naomi being desperate enough to sleep with Craig again AND have a fling with Whitney just to secure a spot on the show again makes me very sad…

I saw the trailer and Shep is talking about Naomi relapsing.

Makes me think they will overplay it to death like the dumb threesome video a few seasons back.

Or that it's fake and they need to have a story for these characters.  Maybe it's a condition of Naomi returning to play along.

Enh I've never really minded Naomi.  She was never my favorite but I don't dislike her either.  Honestly I felt bad for her when her father passed away and then what that twat Metul did to her.  Her and Craig hooking up is a bit weird and I wonder if Paige and her will have a throw down.

Naomi was so nasty to Craig.  She treated him like dogsh*t.  Cameron never said a mean word (at least, on camera) to someone she dated. Naomi acted like she was so much better than Craig, while he was trying to find himself.

She and Craig were just in different places in their lives; Craig had a law degree but no real desire to practice law; Naomi was going to school and had goals of opening her "fashion business".  (in quotes, because we all know that it was only because of the show that she was able to promote it).

I can still remember her berating Craig like he was a toddler, and when he finally cracked and yelled back, he was labeled in a bad way.  This is called emotional abuse, aka gaslighting.

I hate to see anyone get cheated on, but it was fun watching Naomi walk away with her tail between her legs.
