Kody Brown: The Man Who Survived a KNIFE to the KIDNEYS!

I think the reason for the huge price "drop" was that they bought a house for 800k, did zero maintenance for x years, then doubled the price (likely against the advice of the realtor), convinced a buyer blinded by their "star power"  would gladly pay an extra 800 grand for a place that actually had depreciated in value since they purchased it.

So eventually the realtor laid out all the inspection issues that people might have negotiated if they'd listed at a more reasonable price, and they caved.  And then Christine's suit hit and they're probably on hold until there's some kind of hearing. And even at that point they may have to put a % into some kind of escrow and not be able to bury it in guns and QVC tchotchkes.

Probably couldn't sell it easily with a lien on it.

You can't just slap a lien on a property (except for builders' liens, a specific process governed by legislation).  Claiming some one owes you money doesn't entitle you to encumber their property without a court order/judgment.

That's why I included the possibility of "lawyering up" in my original comment.

I don't think that price drop was accurate.  Realtor.com website noted the price change but Zillow never did, and Realtor has the drop in price listed one day after the house was listed.

Their site is really odd in many ways.

I never saw the asking price change, and I’ve been looking.

Apparently there was one on Robyn’s house in LV. Something about a huge unpaid hospital bill for an uninsured Dayton….

That would indicate the hospital sued her and got a judgment against her, which was then filed against the title to the house.

I wonder if Christine waited this long because she was trying to get K to do the right thing  for a while, and he wont pay up.

I wouldn't be surprised if K and R listed the house bc they are trying to hide assets.

I wouldn't be surprised if their "art" collection has no appreciated at all.  You have to be a skilled, well advised collector to actually make money on buying art. I highly doubt they are being advised by anyone who knows anything about art.  And I understand their pieces are not originals, just limited edition lithographs? Which I would think have very little resale value

"Don McNeil, curator of RBC Wealth Management-U.S.’s 400-piece art collection on display at its downtown Minneapolis headquarters. “Investors should buy art for personal reasons,” says McNeil. “To expect that works of art will have some significant appreciative value in your lifetime, that’s different.”

Maybe Sobbin is holding back the Beanie Babies and these are her ace in the hole to get out of debt.

I just read on reddit that one redditor contacted Kuhl about the jacket Kody was wearing during that fake discussion with Robyn. Turns out that jacket couldn't be purchased no sooner than June 2023, it was absolutely not available in 2022.

Talking about damage control, right? Just when I think they couldn't get any lower....they do.

The kidney-attack-name is brilliant, but I would like to mention a phrase from @laurakaye's post in the season thread, I do feel we have missed out on that one!

"Who dares to leave the masterpiece that is Kody Brown?"

Thanks Laura, That really made me choke on my early morning coffee😂

So Kody has filed a counter suit against Christine regarding Truely.

This is about to get uglier.

Any idea what the counter suit is?

WOACB showed proof that Kody has filed, but records are sealed until a ruling has been made.

What would he be filing for? In my mind all he’d be doing now is responding.

She showed the filing, highlighted. But I am on my phone and couldn't read it. Maybe someone on a bigger device can look at it?

Hopefully one of our super sleuths @ginger90 and/or @AZChristian can investigate.

I read enough nonsense daily, WOACB has never intrigued me.

Had to try to find more stuff so I wouldn't let you down.  Most of what the WOACB video was about showed general processes for divorce/child custody hearings.  The most interesting thing to me is that if the non-custodial parent challenges the original lawsuit and demands that this go to court, ALL finances have to be disclosed.  Bad move, Kody.

The other (even more) interesting thing I found is that Kody's lawyer has a one-star rating on Yelp.  Good luck with that!

In the rare event I want to hear something she reports I put the playback at 1.5 speed minimum.  I can always slow anything I really want to hear.

I have nothing polite to say about KJ or her "reporting" style.

I've watched her, and wasn't impressed.  She has been known to sensationalize things, and I've wondered about her obsession with certain individuals.

I do hope they keep Truely out of their fight, if it can be called that.  She's enough of an old soul already.

Does anyone know if K&R actually did buy a $2 million dollar home? Or was it contingent on the sale of their current home?

Kody having expensive real estate and only 2 dependent children at home makes me think Christine will have no problem in court. Surely she will be awarded sizable child support.

They bought it and put it in a trust which was established September 1, 2023.

I’ll send you a page from the filing.

I too have been wondering what part getting himself maxed out on credit and then declaring bankruptcy might have to do with his scheme to avoid repaying the other wives. (quote from @Yeah No spoiler thread)

I think he's mad enough to take himself down on his quest to keep everything away from his exes: If he must destroy himself to thwart them, he will.
