I know Brandi used her vulgarity to stay on the show, but I feel like the cast additions tended to get worse. Erika and Diana being the most obvious examples. Rinna started out soapy, then got spiteful and mean over time.

I blame Bravo for this 100%. They’ve created a culture where these ladies are expected to sing for their supper by “bringing the drama”. There is so much pressure to have a storyline, all situations and interactions are dramatized for the sake of the camera and authenticity goes out the window altogether. It’s gone completely off the rails, and what so many of us used to watch for doesn’t exist anymore.

A look at the current fan favorites (that we’ve seen expressed on this board, anyway) demonstrates just that - from what I’ve read, a majority seems to favor Sutton and Garcelle - even Crystal’s popularity rose when Jax was verbally abused by Erika and she handled that situation as any responsible adult would.

It appears that the viewers are over what has become Bravo’s formula. The show has devolved to the point that it’s just not enjoyable anymore - for me, anyway.  Indecent behavior is rewarded and apparently, encouraged. It’s no wonder it’s a challenge to find new cast members - I sure as hell wouldn’t put my personal and professional reputation on the line to be a HW, no matter what the pay (which is ridiculously low, considering how much money these shows bring in) or “perks”.

And even Sutton was pressured to "perform". Her questioning Diana about her miscarriage was producer generated, and caused drama until the end of season, eg. in Aspen.

Unfortunately, there is no shortage of women who want to join those shows. They do it when they even have sketchy histories (financial and otherwise), and there is a possibility they can be exposed.

Yeah, the housewives shows have become gutter TV. I'm sure many watch in hopes it will change, or for the increasingly few light moments, but it's discouraging that there are enough fans of the gutter formula for Bravo to keep it. I think the ratings are up for RHoBH. Bravo and the housewives are now using social media drama to generate interest and drive viewers to the show. As so many have posted, there are the episodes, which are then extended by social media frenzy and lies.

So true - SM is a super effective tool for them to keep the drama going and the drama-lovers hooked.   No, thanks!

WWHL showed some more footage from Bravocon. Sutton is wearing a green dress at one point. This is the first time ever that I have actually thought that someone looked FANTASTIC in green! Not even Garcelle looked good in her green outfit; even though, I love many, if not most, of Garcelle’s outfits/looks.*

And, certainly, Diana did not look good in her green outfit.*

ETA: I revised some words before the *; sorry if the earlier (a few days ago) posters approved of this post, before the revisions.

“I think we're all sad that Lisa's leaving," Sutton exclusively told E! News at her West Hollywood store, The Sutton Concept, on Jan. 7. "She will be missed."

Especially when it comes to drama on the Bravo series. "She always loved to stir that pot and then we all liked to taste the soup," Sutton continued, "so I think we'll miss Lisa's soup, but I don't think this is the last we'll see from her."

Buy a clue Sutton - Rinna’s soup makes us all sick. 🤮

I remember when this lead at my former work 20 years ago got fired. She was a bitch and a shitty worker. When she got fired she came to say goodbye to me and I just couldn’t hide my smile or glee though I was trying, since she was rather upset.  How nice to have been able to type up some horseshit like Sutton did.

Sutton has so much class to keep it cute like that after the way Rinna treated her.

I'm never certain where the cast member IG posts belong, but they're part of the media, so initially I put this screenshot in the Media thread. But since it's about Sutton (and Denise!), I thought maybe it actually belongs in Sutton's thread.

Interesting.  Not sure I'd consider Denise Richards fashion sense one I'd want to curate if I was Sutton but whatever.

Denise's casual style is much more closely aligned with how I dress.

I agree that it's interesting Sutton would want her curating items at her store. I'm assuming it's because she and Denise are friends off the show. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This might be an unpopular opinion, but as a former cat owner, I did dig Sutton's cat sweater, although I wouldn't have worn it on a date.

That makes sense because I don't think their styles could be more different, for example at Garcelle's movie premier.

Looks like she may have been a little tipsy with her misspelling of "southern" in her hashtag.

But he's adorable, and they make a cute couple.  And hey, he likes her as is, cat sweater & all.

My favorite type of date:  at a bar, watching a game, casual.

Lose the bubbly airhead matchmaker and make Sanjit happen.

I'm a cat (and dog) person, and I thought the sweater was cute. But not necessarily appropriate for a first date though.

I think Sanjit is only a friend.

I'm a cat person too, but yeah, that sweater was not first date material. 😂

Whether Sanjit is only a friend, he seems like a nice guy and it's good to see them still hanging out.

Oliver (Garcelle's eldest) having Sutton on his podcast:

I share these things because I'm always curious as to whom has genuine friendships off the show. So much is staged, of course, but it makes me happy that some of the women have befriended one another off the show. I've always preferred the friendships and lifestyle porn vs the manufactured meanspirited drama.

This is wonderful. Sutton and Garcelle are genuine individuals and have a genuine friendship. I loved finding out more about Sutton this last episode, and seeing how much her friendships and relationships mean to her. Trevor threw paper clips at her! Watching her share about her father, her ex-husband and Merce was quite moving. She’s at peace with regard to her father now. He was tired. I think that’s actually a comforting explanation. I love Sutton.

Does anyone know what Sutton's ex does for work? For her to bring in $3.6 million per year ($300K/month) in alimony/child support, he must be an extremely wealthy person. I wonder how many years she will get that. Hopefully she invests a lot of it.

Did anybody see Kathy Hilton‘s live post on Instagram? She and Sutton were at Kathy‘s birthday party. They were so funny together. Kathy was clueless as usual and Sutton was a hoot. Kathy said she was never gonna take Sutton down at the reunion and they were all concerned when she left the set, Kathy also said it was extremely obvious that there was something wrong with Sutton. It was very funny.

Sure they were all concerned. That’s why she and Erika were discussing Christmas trees. What a phony, Sutton should drop her.

Sutton is about to have a new person on the show who will support her. Word is Jennifer Tilly is joining the show as a “friend of”.

I hope everyone really likes her, I cannot imagine anyone getting mad at Jennifer, she seem so sweet, with that voice I cannot even imagine her screaming at anyone.
