So JJ Field’s character wasn’t an MD. Guess he was a PhD. since he was referred to as Dr. Whatever. In any case, JJ was wasted. Bye-bye, hottie!

I hope Ella takes Vijay up on his offer. I want to see him holding his grandchild.

He's a physical therapist, right? I assumed PhD but maybe just because the two PTs I know in real life (two cousins' spouses) are both PhDs.

What was his offer? I guess I missed it. (To stay with him instead of going home to her parents?)

Wasted actual chemistry with Bloom, too.

Yes, he offered to have her move in with him.  That should be all sorts of interesting if the son ever comes back.

Congrats to the cast and the show for getting renewed for three more seasons!

I was very disappointed at how that turned out.  I wanted him to stay on the show and make Bloom more human and likeable, as he had been doing.

I did not catch why the one prisoner went to stab the patient in the operating room, nor what ended up happening to her.  To my eyes, she stabbed, stabbed, stabbed the patient, stabbed the doctor and then completely disappeared.  Can someone enlighten me?

I didn't quite catch everything either because I was trying to help with homework but I think the woman on the operating table was turning State's evidence on someone?  Not sure why the other prisoner wanted her dead, though.  As for the stabber, I think she was shot by cops.

I probably need to re-watch the episode.  🙄

I too wondered what happened to the other inmate. I don’t remember her getting caught.

Should she move in with him, it's inevitable that the son will make a re-appearance.

He'll likely be broke and looking for some $$$.

DPT, Doctor of Physical Therapy.

I've said before that I identify with Iggy a lot, being a schlubby gay psychiatrist who lives in NYC.  Every thing that he confessed to Martin was something I think about myself.  I don't think I've ever had quite that kind of emotional reaction to a TV show before, and it was to this show, of all the damned things.

I loved everything about Iggy's and  Martin's scenes in this episode.  They were painfully open and vulnerable with each other, which is so hard to do, but you need that kind of honesty when your relationship depends on it.

That poor doctor who was locked in with them....so much awkward! She did great under some very challenging circumstances, lol, and I don't mean the inmate escape!

She ended up in a hallway chased by the police. The assumption is that it was the same hallway where Vijay and Ella were in the closet/storage room, as from their closet/room they could hear the police shouting at her to stop, then gunshots. You hear more shouting, then the police say “all clear”.

The stabber? She was shown at the end being taken away with the other two. Her arm was in a sling.

This show! No comments on the "lockdown" that allows someone to go through. And all the rest of the plot. Boring.

I liked the impromptu therapy session, I too can identify with some of Iggy's issues, low self esteem and all. But Narcissistic Personality Disorder? I use to live with someone diagnosed with NPD and it was't even close to what we know about Iggy.

Has there ever been a hospital based drama that didn’t have at least one “lock down” episode where several characters’ lives hang in the balance because a patient is dying and an unprepared person had to perform life saving surgery under difficult circumstances?  By my count this episode had at least five such instances, six of you include the health of Iggy’s marriage.

And from the shallow end of the pool (please don’t throw things at me): every time I see Ella I completely don’t get why the son would have a relationship with her, she looks about 45 (a frumpy 45) and now we know has a ton of mental issues, and we are supposed to believe Vijays 25ish son was attracted to her, in a relationship and got her pregnant. Sorry but even in this show which is mostly ridiculous (and I say that as a watcher of Chicago Med) this is just too much.

As OTT as the plot was, I legitimately liked basically all of the performances, including Bloom.  They all had good character moments.

I figured it was a one night stand or he was using her for a place to stay.

Yep, there was a 'lockdown' but yet, the escapee was able to enter the OR's despite the fact that access to the OR's is always restricted and, to actually get in, she would have to pass through several locked doors using a keycard/badge on a regular day. I did surgery this morning and had to use my badge 3 times before I ever entered the operating room.  And this is at a place where I know everyone and they know me on sight.  And, of course, the eagle eyed circulating nurse would've noticed the prisoner coming into the room and immediately questioned her presence because that is her job.

I don't even want to guess how many cops would be assigned to watch those doors and identify everyone going in or out in a real Code Silver. And how a real hospital Chief of Staff or CEO and his assistant would be expected to meet the police officer in charge of the situation at the door of the hospital and assist in identifying various rooms and hallways, helping determine access to phones and power, etc and generally being right there to help the cops as they deal with the situation.  There is nothing in the protocol for Code Silver that would suggest the Chief of Staff and his assistant should go down to the hospital basement and run around pretending to be  Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys. And, BTW, just because a prisoner has gotten substandard medical care in jail doesn't mean she isn't violent and might not kill somebody even the very nice doctor who wants to give her better healthcare.

In a Code Silver, everyone is to get out of the halls and seek shelter, and, yet, well into the incident, there were tons of people running around.  Why? Meanwhile the cops were seemingly congregated in the ER despite the fact that they knew the baddies had left there and were apparently NOT clearing the building room by room as one might expect and then being posted on floors as they were cleared to allow the innocent victims to get out of harm's way.

Finally, one of the training points for Code Silver (yes, it is a real thing and we do have drills and actually have to pass written exams about it) is that, if it isn't possible to safely leave the building, one should shelter in place.  One should also barricade the door; for example, by pushing the many, many metal shelving units present in the store room up against the door to keep the bad guys out. One should also silence one's cell phone and keep conversation to a minimum so the shooter can't find one.  One should not be shouting back and forth at strangers through the door nor should one think that, just because he didn't open the door to the stranger, he and his companion are safe.  Bullets penetrate doors pretty easily.

Everyone should also have their cell phone with them and be able to receive pages on it and there should've been constant updates coming to them as well as they should've been texting their location and any anything they'd noticed that was amiss.  For example, suppose one was hiding out in a room the size of an airplane hangar (where were they?) with a patient whose appendix has ruptured.  One could actually text or page to allow the police to know where they were located and what the situation was so that the police could come and escort the patient to an OR.  And, of course, any ER doc should be aware that a ruptured appendix is not an indication to do the procedure emergently in the airplane hangar and that a young, healthy person is not going to die within minutes without surgery. And ,of course, people with ruptured appendices don't behave like that young lady did; but TV shows mess up on that for dramatic purposes all the time. Heck, does anyone think that, on a regular day, a patient with a suspected ruptured appendix makes it to the OR in less than 10 minutes? More like an hour and a half at the earliest.  Then again, Bloom did a cesarean on Max' wife in their apartment for no good reason, I think she's just incompetent.

I thought the son was just being an asshole and dating the woman he saw his father was into.

I think so, too, but I also think the actress looks mid 40's but the character must be younger than that since she got pregnant pretty quickly and no one seems terribly concerned about her age.

This was my thinking also. He thought his Dad was interested, so did that just to be a jerk. Though, she seems a bit young for Vijay too. From all I could find, the actress is 39? Unless I found the wrong Dierdre Friel.

Speaking of age, it blows my mind that Freema Agyeman is 40. She does NOT look her age to me at all.

I did NOT like the Iggy therapy session. To me, his husband is professing his frustration, but in the end it is all about Iggy!

Heart surgeon gets stabbed and continues to do the surgery? "You are bleeding." "Don't worry about it ..."   starts to get dizzy and faints.

The PT guy did take her pill? I'm so confused. What was the point of that? I'm at the point where I need "pop up videos" to tell me what the heck is going on, and what the explanation is. Maybe I've just forgotten too much since the previous episodes last year.

Don't hurt baby Luna!!!  I was worried about her.

Okay, but at the end where the other therapist was like "Oh yeah, and by the way. You may be a narcissist?"  That was good.

The rest of the episode was bad.

Me too! I thought PLEASE don't let anyone get into the daycare because I just couldn't take that. They best protect that sweet baby & all her cute little hats! 😍

The whole episode just reinforced how ridiculous the Riker's storyline is.

Clueless Eeyore needs to lose both arms at once in a freak helicopter crash.  Then he'd be dead and his so-called "friend" (Sharpe) could adopt the baby and live happily ever after together, while Max would disappear into (what would be my idea of heaven) with the dead wife.

He's an addict, too.

I was listening to a doctor talk about surgery (he was trained in NY and NJ) and he said that you never, ever enter an OR without introducing yourself. Armed with such "knowledge", I thought the inmate's entry into the OR was total BS.

That's exactly the age I would've guessed her to be.  Not that there's anything wrong with looking 40, mind you.

See, I wouldn't for some reason. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Some of her pictures on social media I'm like, "Really?"

And no, nothing wrong with 40. The closer I get, the younger it seems! 😆

Right from the beginning, I thought she seemed too young for Vijay, and too old for Rohan, which made the relationship kinda awkward.

My real interest was when she told Vijay she was originally from Idaho...like, what were her original aspirations, and what happened? Obviously something did, as I doubt she moved cross-country to sell coffee.
