They didn’t, that was just for Layla to play and Zade to rest. They brought a large tent where Carlin was able to stand up with room left. She was doing calisthenics before bed in the big tent. 
 

Josie brought a small tent for Willow and Hazel to play in so the Stew Crew had to keep up appearances. It must be exhausting to be C&E.

I'm sorry but I just can't deal with the perfectly curated camping outfit including brand new unscuffed boots.  And nothing screams " cozy fall outfit" like two gaping holes in the knees of your jeans. 🤦‍♀️

Credit to Josie, at least she doesn't appear to be wearing new, just out of the box outfits when she goes camping.  And she posts photos of her girls doing outdoor things, not just playing with toys in a tent (although she has shown that too).  I have noticed that Willow appears to have taken a fall last weekend- her IG photos this week show her with some scabs around her nose and mouth.  Josie has not addressed it at all. (Not that she is obligated to do so).

Evan looked bored out of his mind in Carlin's most recent stories. He was working on his laptop while she's getting ready to do pond-side yoga (insert eye-roll). I don't really understand why she was doing calisthenics in the tent, either. Did it ever occur to her to go for a walk? Isn't that kind of the whole point of camping? To unplug and enjoy nature? Even Izzy just sits glued to her bed. 

Aside from completing the Basic Bitch Fall Checklist, I don't get the point of this trip at all. They're just doing what they normally do at home, except in tents. 🤷

Exactly how long is this camping trip? Because if you're not into it, it's perfectly fine to camp out for one afternoon/evening/night and pack up and go after breakfast. Frankly it's perfectly fine not to camp at all but we can't do w/o the YT and IG basic fall content here + keeping up with Josie.

Second - as @BitterApple says, what is the point of camping if you won't do anything but exercise videos and sitting at your laptop? Can't you do those things at home? Who even brings a laptop when camping?? And Evan you are a YouTuber here, not an investment banker who'll miss a billion dollar global deal if he goes off the grid and doesn't get the signed documents back to London ASAP.

While I don't care for Josie and Kelton, when they camp they at least seem to enjoy it - well Kelton does and Josie does the doting wife thing happily enough that she doesn't seem miserable. I mean they go with his family, seem to be talking the whole time, they'll set up the grill and cook actual meals etc. This guy mean while brings a Duraflame and a lighter and then leaves the lighter on top of the burning fire. Wonder if he realizes how a lighter works and what's inside it. I can see why the electrician thing wasn't for him - he isn't the manliest of men.

No, which means we're going to get an #ad in a day or two. Makeup gurus on YouTube used to do this all the time. Start using a random product in their tutorials that eventually shows up as sponsored content. It's a slick way to advertise to your audience without them realizing they've been set up for a sales pitch. My guess is Carlin will be shilling an exercise app. 

With regards to food, I notice a fine meal of McDonalds and Doritos in the picture GeeGolly posted. I don't see a cooler nearby to indicate they brought hot dogs or anything else to grill.

I hope they didn't cook over a Duraflame log; the manufacturer recommends against it.  Those things are pumped full of chemicals.

The ones that are specified as OUTDOOR logs are apparently ok for marshmallows and s'mores. However, the log that Dumb and Dumber had in their 'campfire' looked like a regular indoor log.

I carry at least one portable charger in my purse that is good for two full charges, comes in handy at amusement parks. They can also charge their phones in the car, I also leave a charger in my car (Yes, I have serious issues about running out of charge). Since Evan is such technophile I wouldn’t be surprised if they have one of the more sophisticated power stations like a Jackery (terrible name, good product).

I saw that they had Zade in a really warm looking, fluffy onesie (pram?) with a hoodie. But why oh why was it white? Let’s go camping and dress the kid more likely to get messy in white, because we are allergic to color.

That’s because they are not into camping at all, glamping is more up their alley. Also C&E must have an audience or they don’t know what to do with themselves. Attention is their oxygen and camping with their two beautiful, healthy kids bores them to sleep (two naps for Evan).

They could have done what W&Z did recently, camp in their own backyard. The kids had a blast and they had an out if Jadon didn’t handle it well.

They could have also done a staycation. Take the kids to the zoo (Josie does that frequently so it must be nearby) or find new playgrounds to explore. But for some reason they, like Erin/Chad, are hell bent on making memories camping.

Josie and Kelton seem to camp with his family so they are more typical campers than C&E who just randomly pitch a tent somewhere. I think Chad bought the camper for Erin to decorate since she’s run out of things to change in their house. As far as actually going someplace to camp? They must be too busy with the scripture cards or something. 

Maybe C&E are posting a comedy video? All it showed me was how fake and dumb they are.

Yeah, IO won't be surprised at all if in a week we hear about this great new exercise app from Carlin.  The tackiest example of this I can remember is when Josie posted about having PPD and got lots of sympathy and kudos for talking about it openly.  Two weeks later, she posted about some magical herbal crap she was shilling that supposedly cured her.  I wanted to slap her for doing something that low.

Yeah, Josie's just as bad as Carlin with the phoniness and child exploitation, she's just a more convincing actress. 

On a different note, I'd love to see the numbers for BSB right now. They did a surprise flash sale last week and are now doing a three-day weekend sale (with a measley 18% off). Whit was promoting it on her stories and I swear there was an underlying note of panic in her breathless delivery. I think their fanbase is starting to tap out. How many more shapeless dresses can they possibly need? 

I'm sure it also doesn't help that Carlin took off to go camping in the middle of the work week (and after just returning from a Florida vacation).

I watched the YouTube about Carlin's appt with the eye doctor. I could not believe that Evan said that Carlin didn't understand the eye doctor. The girl is slightly near-sighted and has an astigmatism. Glasses will help.  What is to not understand? The doc had to let Evan know so he could explain it to Carlin in "easy terms". Gil and Kelly should be ashamed of themselves. I'm sure at this point that Carlin had/has no idea what the specialists said about her episodes and had no clue as to their recommendations and follow ups. I hope she is not taking Layla and the baby to the pediatrician by herself. Sorry to report this.

I think Carlin is dumb, but not that dumb. I think she's extremely immature and doesn't want to make decisions beyond nail polish colors and drink flavors at Starbucks. By pretending she can't understand anything, it puts all the burden on Evan to deal with the doctors, process the information and choose a course of action. It's just another area of Carlin's life where she can't handle adulting.

Even before she was unable to drive, she rarely went to any doctor appointments alone. If Evan didn’t take her, KJ or a random friend, anyone accompanied her so she wasn’t alone. She made comments about being too nervous to listen or my personal favorite is when Layla needed blood work, it hurt her “momma’s heart” to watch!?! She is very immature and G & KJ did her wrong in the way they parented her.

She's dumb + vain + immature + still has it stuck in her head that girls are supposed to be stupider and not understand things to make the headships feel like they must take charge/make decision/explain things. Fantastic combo of qualities for someone going through their own health problems with a kid who has/had a hole in her heart and having trouble staying on the growth curve.

She likely doesn't understand much of what the drs. say + doesn't have the critical thinking skills to actually ask a question bc she doesn't understand what she doesn't understand + as @ginger90 says is preoccupied the whole time at the drs. office anyway wondering if her outfit is cute enough or if the dr sees her fresh mani.

Kudos G&K for raising your daughters to be THIS stupid and uneducated and then handing them off of to headships who are barely any better. Though I guess Evan at least can say "astigmatism," which Carlin could only remember as "a stigma."

And also kudos G&K for the AMAZING healthcare you provided to your children. Evan said Carlin has only been to the eye dr TWICE in her LIFE - both times after marriage?? Uh she's 24. I realize they don't believe in preventative care + their kids weren't reading a blackboard so they couldn't complain about not being able to see from the back of the classroom but Jesus, it never occurred to G&K to have their kids' eyes tested at least a few times thru childhood??

If Gil couldn't grift it, the kids didn't get it. Apparently there were no optometrists among the sweet church friends providing the Bates with free services. 

My guess is none of the kids got any form of preventative care growing up and that might explain why Carlin is so intimidated by doctor's visits now. The sad thing is, if Gil hadn't been so far up Gothard's ass, he could've applied for Medicaid and gotten all this stuff covered.

The Carlin humpers on Reddit are ridiculously out of control. I got downvoted for pointing out that Carlin can actually read her words, and correct mistakes, before she posts. Apparently, that was too much for the humpers. 

I don't think any of the Bateses are smart. Some are just not as dumb as others.
