You are correct, and I spoke in generalities. A better statement would have been that too many cops cover for bad cops (the Blue Wall does exist).

You absolutely can, and I can tell that you are thinking about this. I am not indicating that the police always treat white people with kid gloves - just look to the recent videos of the way white peaceful protesters were treated with batons, pepper spray, and rubber projectiles (also not saying all cops are bad - I AM saying all police unions need to look into the abyss for like two seconds, and that the 'Blue Wall' is how we got here - good cops must hold the bad ones accountable, and that is not happening). If the BLM movement can bring about substantive police \societal reform, it will only help everybody, white, black, whoever. Anything I would say falls short of what @Kohala3 has posted immediately above in the picture of the girl holding the sign. I will also say something that I think we ALL can most definitely agree on - Mariah is not a good communicator.

The 'too' is implied in BLM. ALM has been co-opted by bigots and racists, some closeted and some not, as a direct response to not wanting to understand that the 'too' is implied. This may still be working it's way into common knowledge. White privilege doesn't mean that all whites have shiny, happy lives or upbringings. I'm white. I grew up in rural Appalachia. My aunt lived in what could only be described as a shanty. We always had food, but I knew even then that it was taking a lot to get that food on the table (including gardening day & night, canning, etc). I fully understand that my privilege (as a white COL) means that if I am walking to my car late at night, and a police officer rides by and asks me if I am alright, that I don't have to fear things going sideways for no reason. I also know that they probably won't stop, because they will assume it's fine for me to be there, in a nice section of town. I love this forum, and I hate Mariah.

Damn. Rachael doesn't let her mask slip often - but her anguish last night was palpable.

So... the red solo cup party at Whitney's townhouse ... which one of those girls is Chase's baby momma?
-
Damn.... Racheal mentioned my small town last night (Salisbury NC) on her A block... because of our 96 Covid19 cases in a single nursing home. Said she read the Salisbury Post. Her point being... nobobdy at the federal level is tracking the overall numbers\overall horror of what is happening at these places. So she has to read the local news to get it. Love her roasting the South Dakota governor over no statewide lock down even with the Smithfield plant implosion. Everything is fine here folks, move along, nothing to see here. I wish upon her the same fate as the Richmond Va pastor who mocked the lockdown and held packed services, only to die of the virus.

S04.E08: Stranger In A Strange Land
Xena replied to kendi's topic in 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days
Usman to his mother: "Lisa came here from the USA because we love each other and want to get married". Usman's mother: "She looks like she is fifty years old, she is white, and not of your tribe. She will take you away. No." Baby Love to Usman: "What did she say?" Usman: "She said no. But don't worry, as long as she doesn't put on the purple cloak of 'hell naw', we are ok....oh, wait..." -
You got it! I rewound back to that point, Mike turns around... and puts the gas cap in his gun bag (which he would only do if it's 'his' bug). Note to self: Save the bubba kush for AFTER the show. LOL. p.s. I think you may be remembering the episode when Mike was going crazy trying to figure out how HE was being followed - he tore his car apart - before he finally realized the bug was in the gas cap (then a fantastic episode where he wore down the battery in THAT bug so that he could con the men into coming to 'replace' the gas cap... which he had replaced with his very own bug, that the bad guys carried off, then he was able to follow them.... omg I love this show).
-
Ok, I was pretty stoned watching last night, but didn't Mike take the gas cap out of the Esteem? I just figured that's how the robber gang knew the drop spot - someone had bugged the gas cap before Saul left town.

I would pay good money for an audio book of Jonathan Banks reading 'The Little Prince'.

When Truely was begging to get off the bike, and Kody would not let her, I just kept muttering asshole, asshole, asshole. I mean, that's normally my response to him, but the asshole quotient was off the charts last night with this one.

I love Kim Wexler and I love the ponytail! <raspberry> I have had moments lately at work, which is a shit-storm right now, where I just want to walk away. Then I think about Kim and her sticky-notes, Kim in that dark storage room just cranking it out, and I'm like 'Be like Kim'. And I just crank it out. I think she is my spirit animal.

Of COURSE there is a Seinfeld episode lol which I'm sure you know - "He's a two-face!"
-
Edited because I was in the right show, but wrong episode thread. P.S. Christina - I think it was because he folded in the poker game (he was bluffed), he had a pair (or three?) of eights, it was crazy of him to fold. Anybody correct me if wrong, I was doing other things while watching!

Fast forward five years. MBFFL was cancelled after Chase and Ryan were filmed kissing and making out during a drunken bar crawl. Whitney has moved back in with Glen and Babs , has eaten her way to 630 lbs, and is on the premiere episode of Season 532 of My 600 Pound Life- Dr. Now: Hello, I'm Dr. Nowzarharazahabahowzen. Whitney: Hi, I'm sure you know who I am, nice to meet you. Dr. Now checks his chart: Says here you Whitney Thore. Whitney: Yes, that's me (throws her hair back and tries to look seductive. Fails.) Dr. Now: Ok, so why you here today? Whitney: Well, I keep doing all the things I'm supposed to do, I eat healthy, I work out seven days a week, but I keep gaining weight. Which I'm totally fine with, I feel great, I can do anything a normal size person can do, I'm only here because my parents were going to kick me out if I didn't get a job. Reality show work is my passion, so here I am! Dr. Now glances at scooter parked next to Whitney: Normal people don't use scooter to get around. Whitney glares at Dr. Now. No response. Dr. Now checks his chart: Says here you 630 pound today. What your eating habit like? Whitney: I have a small bowl of Special K for breakfast, a salad for lunch, and grilled chicken with steamed vegetables for dinner. I also exercise by twerking, and weight lifting. Dr. Now: You don't get 630 pound like that. What you really eat in a day? Whitney: You don't understand, I have PCOS. No matter what I do, I gain weight. Dr. Now: PCOS not cause you get 630 pound. Whitney: According to everything I have studied, with PCOS it is impossible for me to lose any weight. Have you read about PCOS? Dr. Now, exasperated: You just excuse, excuse, excuse. What I want you do - next 30 day - follow meal plan we give you. I want you lose 30 pound over next 30 day before next visit. Whitney: Are we done here? I'm meeting Buddy later at Pizza Hut for lunch, I need to go home and change into my lunch leggings. Dr. Now: If you not follow program, we not work with you. Who is Buddy? Whitney, getting on her scooter: He's your next appointment, I'll send him in.

One of the worst moments in all of reality show history is when Bret did not pick Heather, his obvious soulmate. 🙂 On topic - this reality show needs to BE history, and not still airing. It is so boring, I rarely make it thru a whole episode, I really need to remove from my DVR.

This. A thousand times this. I, like many, many others, have become numb and worn down over the last three years, it takes a lot to garner alarm at this point. But this opening segment sent chills down my spine. Exactly because nothing can garner the nations attention anymore, and this should. This (retaliation) is just once more slow slide towards the the death of our democracy. This isn't supposed to happen here. When it does happen, there should be repercussions. The fact that we all know there won't be is proof that we are no longer waiting to be a banana republic, we already are one.

Rachel Maddow: Our Favorite Rhodes Scholar
Xena replied to AmandaPanda's topic in The Rachel Maddow Show
Oh cool, she reads the book herself, and not an actor? I was debating whether to buy the print copy, or audible, this may make my decision easier! -
When Eleanor referred to herself as just a girl from Arizona, instead of a trashbag from Arizona.... I'M NOT CRYING, YOU'RE CRYING!

So, Puddle of Mudd is coming to Charlotte in December. Tickets are cheap, I am soooooo tempted to go, and when they play 'She Hates Me', play 'Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer' on my phone on the highest volume setting.

My fellow Primetimers - I rewound the 'fight' that Darcy\Stacey had at the Albanian bridge two times - I can't understand the mumbledebrargh way that they both talk, I'm sure the lip injections don't help. I cannot for the life of me understand - what the fight was about? Can anyone help enlighten me? I know I'm also asking you to apply logic and reason regarding these two, and I know that may be impossible. Please do the best you can - what were they arguing about?

Xena replied to Meredith Quill's topic in The Good Place [V]
This is fairly old, but I don't think it's been posted before. I crack up every time. It's so horrible, and gets worse the longer it goes on. Just as the Bad Place would have it be. https://youtu.be/Pyrv6NxpsKA -
Whoa, @DakotaJustice. You can hate the Browns all you want. Don't you DARE compare the DeFranco Family to the Browns!!!! The could sing, dance, and I had a huge poster of Tony on my bedroom wall torn right out of my Tiger Beat magazine. No one will ever have a poster of Meri on their wall. Well, except for maybe Jackie Overton.
