S01.E03: Movie Night Meltdown
Vivigirl10 replied to secnarf's topic in Joe Millionaire: For Richer Or Poorer
That's hilarious and a great observation! She's angling for that pink cadillac! Carolyn is like a soggy wet blanket underneath a gray storm cloud. Granted, Amanda acted pretty shady about the kissing, but she's upbeat, bubbly and fun when she's around Kurt and it seems like that's appealing to him. The contrast between the two ladies is striking and I'm on Amanda's side. Carolyn is a classic bachelor contestant who goes on and on about their deep love, wants to talk extensively about their "connection", but couldn't tell you one single simple fact about the dude. Kurt needs to stop shaking his leg and foot when he's sitting down. I don't know why that bugs me so much! -
S16.E07: Wild Cards
Vivigirl10 replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
I'm having a hard time suspending reality in order to digest this show. The majority of these women would not be (are not) friends in real life and therefore, would never seek each other out to constantly have to "talk things over". Come on. If some rando friend of a friend made a nasty comment about you, you'd just steer clear of them at parties. This season, the ladies have to reach out, bury the hatchet and have all these deep heart to heart talks to "clear the air". It's so ridiculous and unbelievable. Another problem: Noella doesn't know Shannon, Emily and Gina from a person she passed in line at Starbucks this morning. Why are these women so desperate to be there for her? It's kind of odd to be loaded down with a person's personal tragedy when you have no previous relationship with them. All this fake concern is cringe worthy. I went down a rabbit hole yesterday involving a lawsuit against an LA plastic surgeon. Terry was listed as an expert witness at trial! Could this be another source of income? I don't know if you can get paid for that type of service. What is up with the ladies recycling J-Lo's best hair looks from the 90's?? -
Amanda and Kyle are the couple who literally have to get married just so they can finally break-up. I've known a couple just like them. There will be no breaking up until divorce. I have a soft spot for Amanda. I cannot believe they have a contract about him paying back her parents if she calls off the wedding. You are at that point and yet still thinking you want to marry him? What?? And he knows what he's done to her when he's drunk (CHEAT) and yet he doesn't care enough to just go home with the group? I'd be in a panic if I were her too. It's a natural reaction. Why she continues to put herself through it, I just don't know. Too late now, the kids will be the ones to suffer next. Me too! He seemed so sweet this episode. The part of Lindsay's story that I gave the side eye to was the fact that she called her Ob/Gyn and got in the next day! I'm not sure they save "pregnancy panic" appointments for call-ins. It takes me 3 months to get into my doctor! (I'm saying this tongue-in-cheek). The new muscle guy isn't my type at all. It will be interesting to see if he brings anything to the table. He talks really fast. Her answer was funny. We drink with the same people! Clearly they don't know each other at all. I guess it would be weird to just have someone show up at the house with no connection to anyone so they had to make up this lame excuse.

S01.E02: Admit It, You're a Gold Digger!
Vivigirl10 replied to secnarf's topic in Joe Millionaire: For Richer Or Poorer
That girl is trying so hard to be "quirky" when she doesn't have to. She just is. I don't see either guy ever being interested in her. I don't care for Caroline. Is she really so cute as to warrant this attention? She comes off as bossy and I think she is a gold digger. I'm hoping that she came out of the gate strong but that Kurt will ultimately turn his attentions elsewhere. I also can't tell who is the bad kisser between these two but....yuck. But I'm thinking it's her. Annie is my favorite and seems way too normal and cute to be on this trainwreck. I think she was genuinely let down when she found out she wasn't the only one that Steven had kissed! Speaking of, can we please get Miss Dress Thief, drunk, drama queen that Steven kissed first, out of the house? That kiss was so cringey I had to cover my eyes. Steven is a really smooth talker and I think that's part of why he grates on me. Kurt is more awkward and genuine, which makes him more likeable, in my opinion. Agreed. The other girl who caught Kurt's attention, I think her name is Amanda? I believe she may have a swim or clothing line? She looks like Kristin Cavallari's homelier sister. Count me in with those who are finding this entertaining! -
Real Estate Shows: Different Shows, Same Storylines
Vivigirl10 replied to Bastet's topic in Genre Talk
I've just discovered "Escape to the Country" on Dabl. What a refreshing show! I see it's been discussed here and the reviews have been positive. It's great to see such interesting homes and the buyers always seem to be so positive and enthusiastic about the search. Criticism, when it occurs, is reasonable and warranted. So different from House Hunters! I've been following a few social media sites and designers who are decorating now in the Grand Millenial style. It's not radical, but it's certainly a change from modern farmhouse. I wonder if we are poised to start to see a shift in trends? Maybe not just in the style of Grand Millenial, but anything that differs from what I feel like we've been stuck in for so long. -
Does Brittany not have her own thread? Maybe because she's no longer on the show. Anyway....just wanted to add that she announced on Instagram yesterday that she's the new spokeswoman for Jenny Craig. She can't be THE spokeswoman, correct? I'd think it's just another paid partnership for her to do some low-rent Instagram talking heads, but I guess I could be wrong. I wouldn't think enough people would even know who Brittany was.

Josiah and Lauren: He Has To Marry Somebody

SMama, thank you for letting me know that - I had no idea! Sadly, I guess it removes that excuse then?! -
Josiah and Lauren: He Has To Marry Somebody
Vivigirl10 replied to frenchtoast's topic in Counting On
I always thought Lauren was severely, ugh.......not intellectually gifted. But then I'd remember that she was completely and utterly uneducated so maybe that's just what we were seeing. There is no way they've broken up or aren't together. Lauren was sold a fairytale dream about marriage and there's simply no way that she's already given up on that being anything but the truth. Good Lord, just look at Anna as an example. I'm starting to believe there isn't a single thing that could ever happen to make one of these simpering females realize that something is wrong in their marriage. -
Social Media: What's Up With Her?
Vivigirl10 replied to ClareWalks's topic in My Big Fat Fabulous Life
I'll admit I'm not privy to all the details about Lenny (wasn't keeping up with the dumpster fire at that time) but wasn't he presented as a boyfriend? Sooooo......she's deeply in love with another man but on vacation with an ex-boyfriend? I know circustances vary and maybe in some situations this could be o.k. but speaking broadly, most men wouldn't be comfortable with that and most women wouldn't do that to their boyfriend. But this is Twit and Twit does what Twit wants!! -
The Nygard episode was so frightening. What a monster (he physically looked like one too). Beverly Peele's story towards the end was a total shocker. They presented her as untouchable and to find out no one was safe from Nygard! I liked his son too. He seemed to have a good head on his shoulders and was able to see the truth; which must be incredibly difficult when it's your own father. I follow fashion some and had no idea who Nygard was. Did anyone else know his brand?

I haven't finished it yet (I'm right at the part about the housekeeper) but it is very well done and much more in depth than anything I've seen on the family so far. It never seems like they focus much on Maggie though. I'd really like to know more about her other than she was "very sweet". Seeing the footage of Anthony and Mallory on the dock before the accident was heartbreaking knowing what they were walking into. So telling when he was yelling at the officers afterwards and asking them if they knew whose son Paul was and then commenting something along the lines of, "nothing's going to happen to him". I feel like I've seen Troy Roberts reporting before on a number of a cases. So I was very distracted/confused by how much difficulty he seemed to have enunciating in his talking heads. Does anyone know if this is always how he speaks? Sadly, it almost seems like he may have had a stroke. But maybe I just never noticed it before.

I binged and was catching up on some old episodes this weekend (still haven't gotten to the new season). I know that they design these homes to appeal to the masses and I know it's been said a thousand times about Christina but her absolute lack of design knowledge makes me almost (almost??) embarrassed for her. In one weekend, I watched her call patterned tiles (very excitedly) "modern", "farmhouse", "mid-century" and "southwest". Are you telling me they truly fit every design aesthetic? I always thought they were more Moroccan inspired (one term she's missed using) but hey, I'm no "designer". I guess my point is, she always designs under some sort of titled theme but then uses all of the exact same products/looks. Tarek really isn't any better. Every single time she pulls out that same darn white cabinet door front he wets his pants like it's the first time he's seen such an innovative design idea. I'll still admit, I do like some of the end products and it's fun to see how far the houses come. I just would personally never buy a home completely decked out in trendy finishes. You never know when the trend will change and it's not like you can just do a complete remodel every couple of years (well, I can't at least!).

What struck me so deeply is that after all Jordan and Jennifer have been through, the horrible abuse and neglect, the hateful and life threatening environment that they were raised in.....they still appear to be extremely kind, loving, caring and optimistic individuals. From what well does that spring? I am in awe. Jordan comforted her sister so genuinely when she was upset talking. They were distraught over the chaining up of their little sisters. They made a plan to escape so that they all could survive. How do you come out of that past with such kindness in your heart when no one ever modeled it for you? I can't stop thinking about them. I cannot believe that instead of vetting foster parents for the little ones under a gigantic microscope, they were - whoops! - placed in just a new and different abusive environment!! You have got to be kidding me. I don't understand how that can even happen. It seems to me there would be many families/individuals willing to help the adults, as well. Was there no word put out in the community of this need? It just doesn't make sense.

S01.E06: There's Snow Place Like Home
Vivigirl10 replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Winter House
Kyle meet Jax, Jax meet Kyle. Douche it out bros!! Now that season I would pay to see! -
Marley - slow clap to your entire post. But as far as this tidbit.......Ciara's fawning over Austen is making me stabby. Go for it girl, I don't think anyone is going to feel bad for you when you don't make it down the aisle. It is absolutely perplexing to see her say she's never felt this way about anyone before. WHY???? You've never dated a tall guy, because what else is she basing this on? Austen is a textbook loser from top to bottom. He doesn't seem that smart, not particularly witty, is a cheater and he has no job. He seems to trot Trop-Hop out for a party once a season on Southern Charm. Are we supposed to applaud? Same with Paige. Does she really think Andrea is a safe bet in the long-term monogamy game? Can she articulate, other than his looks, why she's so gaga over him?

The little girl who is 2 down from Tessie, despite her horrible lot in life, that child always has the biggest, happiest grin on her face and surprisingly it seems genuine! I love her little sparkle. And she's so lumped into the depths of the middle of this mess of kids that I don't even know her name. Sammers looks even skinnier than usual in recent pics. BME has totally missed her biggest money grab by not making Sammers and Tessie the new incarnation of Donny and Marie. But there's no spot for her on that stage so it wouldn't even cross her mind!

I fully support your post. The other girls must have a lot more patience than I have because I wouldn't be able to stand five minutes of her ditsy, space cadet, gee willikers routine. Another poster added some very valuable comments too; she seems like she's always so busy with her "act" and yukking it up, she likely has a hard time buckling down, shutting up and paying attention when needed. She also cannot learn choreography quickly and on the fly. How pretty she may or may not be doesn't make up for her obvious shortcomings as a dancer. I'm really sorry that Judy was overruled. I was so surprised that Lea was bottom 5! I'm looking forward to her make-over the most. I'm so curious whether they'll play into her shorter hair and give her something like a pixie (and then she'll be cut) or if they'll load her up with extensions. Also looking forward to changes to KayDianna and Kellee's hair. Can they please retire that God awful video of Maddie's solo and her doing that move where she looks like a frog somersaulting through the air??

I can't decide either! Who truly is the murderer within the family? Add in the housekeeper and the nursing student and I am truly scratching my head. The housekeeper's family seemed so warm and kind. Especially the main woman who spoke (I missed what her connection to the housekeeper was?). I previously read an article about how her two son's were so easily manipulated over the insurance money and completely taken advantage of. They really tugged on the heartstrings. I'd like to know more about her. It never seems like they focus much on who she was, where she came from, etc.
-
Perfect description of them seeming more like actors doing a play. Either way, it was so boring I had to fast forward through it - which I never do. It's a great question as to why other townsfolk don't recognize the young Monsignor. Even more than the way he looks is his particular speech cadence when he's droning on! It's so distinctive I would imagine people would know it anywhere. It's kind of driving me crazy. I'm sorry, I found it laughable when the demon/angel showed up wearing a fedora and trench coat. For real??? He's millions of years old and was last living naked in a cave but now he's comfortable with the latest fashion trends! All I could think of was, how did the wings fit under the coat 🙃

Every murder is senseless but this one just hung on me as soooooo senseless. Those men could have walked into Egypt's apartment, saw her watching a movie, realized they were in the wrong place and simply put their hands up and said, "my bad" and walked out. Who knows, she may not have even called the police. But instead, they tie her up and shoot her in the head?? My God! Why did they escalate a simple mistake into her having to die? Dateline did cover every base and then some with this episode, but they also did convey how great of a young woman Egypt was. What a loss. A kindergarten teacher telling seasoned detectives how to do their jobs is rich. Ugh. So the fact that she was somewhat responsible for moving the investigation forward is hard to swallow. D'Wayne's name was driving me nuts. Dee-Wayne. Egypt's boyfriend needs to leave his small town, go to the city and start living his best gay life.

I've watched two episodes of the new HGTV show called Houses with History. I've enjoyed it so far! I'm most impressed with the wife who is the real estate agent but mainly the designer. She's quiet and unassuming and while she deals a lot with antiques, she doesn't appear to be a one trick pony. Although it may not be the taste I want in my own home, it's super refreshing to see something different than what the Joanna and Christina cookie-cutter types bring to the table. I feel the same way when I'm watching Restored. The two main guys are a bit hokey with their banter and jokes, but they didn't bother me. I like that the history buff researches the homes with the local historians. Oddly, that part reminds me of Dead Files, but in a completely different way! My one criticism is that they aren't really doing much preservation, and that's how they advertise themselves. The two homes I watched them redo had already been gutted/remodeled at some point, and in the case of the 1st episode, the house was so rotten it practically needed to be newly rebuilt.

Ava's inappropriate giggling is a big problem. I could barely watch. I wanted to yell, "wipe that smirk off your face"!! It seems like she finally did once she realized how serious Kelly was taking it. Every year I get to the point where I spot a face or two in the rookie class and I still have no idea who they are. There's a blonde girl in a few shots that I'm certain has never even been named. Just kidding, but I have no idea who she is. But I also never saw Lea before this episode. I loved her dancing! Curious to see what they'll do with her hair to help make her more "facially gifted" (I'm saying that tongue in cheek). To me, Klein has that funny/quirky kind of personality that is endearing. Like how Kat wants to be except she's totally grating instead.

The above is a screenshot of a comment on a picture of Joy and Abbie on Joy's Instagram. Who knows who the poster is. Any other slips that this may be true?

THANK YOU!!! I came here to say the same thing. It really made me dislike Mel. The dude is in a difficult position of having twins with an idiotic woman and Mel starts crying about wanting him to have a baby with her too?? For real?? How about putting on a muzzle at least until the kids are born? Ugh. I found this highly annoying. I'm a little halfway through the season and I came here specifically to try to be spoiled. It's just too frustrating to watch. I seriously thought I had read in another post that Charmaine miscarried the twins so I keep waiting for it to happen. I don't think it does now so I'm kind of over the series. Speaking of Charmaine, in what world would this handsome, extremely wealthy and powerful single man settle on HER??? Some low rent old brood who isn't even likeable and to top it off, is pregnant with another mans' babies (plural!!). The only way it makes sense is if he is an abuser and she's an easy mark. I just couldn't take it when she traipsed off to her brand new Range Rover and said to Jack, "isn't it cute"? She probably doesn't even know what it is. She wanted a Kia and was disappointed when the Range Rover showed up.
