  1. I don't know what show Jelinsky actually thought he was on. Smashing the timer because they only had 2 3/4 hours left? All of these challenges are run and timed before the Survivors ever get to the island, so it was possible. And, we have seen various participants outwit challenges and find ways to finish them that the creators never envisioned. Jelinsky also tried to drag Q down with him (which infuriated me as I liked Q who understands the concepts of both 'hard' and 'work'). Then, it seemed like Jelinsky took pride in buckling during the 3 person get an advantage journey. But, what most surprised me was how calm he was prior to tribal council. Dude, just because you think you made a rock solid alliance on day one doesn't mean they won't change their minds. He kept referencing himself in the third person (no, just no) and then tried to convince us all that he was going to be a legend. Well, maybe he succeeded in that-but not in the way he probably envisioned. I like several (however more than seven) players-but, of course, I may totally change my mind about them as the season progresses.
  2. I totally missed that the new season started? Anybody watch? Any impressions thus far?
  3. If Daisy is, indeed, the next Bachelorette, I don't think I will be able to watch as her vocal fry is off the charts IMO. She's nice and pretty, but I couldn't listen to an entire season of the fry.
  4. I watched this solely because of Boston Rob. I unapologetically love him as a reality competitor even though I didn't like him on his first season of Survivor. I like that he understands strategy and social interactions. I thought the show had some good twists-and I felt the tension as Aron got close to the end of his deals. I also liked Claudia (the former suitcase model) and hope she stays around. I found it interesting that Stephanie (?) lied to Boston Rob for no reason when he was trying to help her. Save the lies for when they are needed-it's not good to expose oneself when there is no reason for doing so. I'm in for now. In the previews it looks like there will be several twists throughout the season.
  5. I think we saw Maria's true self. She has been manipulative (IMO) the entire season but knows how to hide it and cause others to over react. Tonight she tried to manipulate Joey into begging her to stay but it didn't work. She sure back peddled after, once again, crying without any tears. I'm always interested in what she wears because, as she told us, she's an introvert and doesn't put herself 'out there.' Was she wear a bathing suit cover-up during the formal part of the group date? As you can tell, I haven't cared much for her this entire season.
  6. I am just so happy to see Rick Grimes again! After he left the story on the Walking Dead it was never the same. I think Andrew Lincoln does a great job embodying the character. I didn't understand hardly anything the main actress said and it took me a long time to realize they were in Philadelphia. But, overall, just having the whole episode focus on Rick was enough to get me into this series.
  7. I finally watched a few episodes and am in disbelief that JMM is so desperate to be on the t.v. that she agreed to this show. It seems very scripted (as you all have already mentioned), but what really got me is that each participant has a manilla folder that must have the script in it as they never present evidence from it and several 'actors' have continually referenced it before speaking their 'lines.' And, I was really confused when during the intro autobiography MM states that she realized that she was a better talker than listener. Hmmmm, aren't judges supposed to LISTEN to the legal arguments and then make a decision based on evidence and testimony? You know, testimony to which a judge will LISTEN??? Yet, MM seems to take real pride in this revelation that she's such a good talker and not a good listener...
  8. Rachel demonstrated the allure of being on t.v. to me. She wants to travel the world for months at a time-does she have no idea how farming works? Sure, farmers who don't have livestock may be able to leave more during the winter, but livestock requires ongoing work even when crops have been harvested or are dormant. And, Nathan(?) I don't think you need to take advice from someone who last week was going to leave-stayed because she got the one-on-one, and then revealed that she really didn't want to stay on the farm because she "had" to travel the world. I actually think that having only 3 women left is in the best position to actually get to really know them. The 'farmers' that have more women left seem like it would be harder to find the "one." Brooklyn seemed like she didn't understand that she was being let go. Her facial expressions didn't match his or her words. I think Reba may be the next one gone from Brandon's group. I think that Ty's women were very surprised to learn that he doesn't really want more children. I get it-he has a cute daughter and feels like he doesn't want to start another family. But, he probably needed to lead with that. Wanting/not wanting children is a definite deal-breaker. There's something a bit off-putting about Mitchell to me. I don't know quite what. But, I do enjoy this show.
  9. Bombing a church to hide a death that they may have been able to get ruled as an accident? None of this makes sense to me nor the fact that there was a 20 year gap between the event and solving it without new forensic evidence being produced. And why wasn't Marissa sitting at the front of the church with family (or even the second row) as she was a long-term relationship with Jace? Why were the assistants acting as private detectives (it seems a lot to ask of 'assistants')? Why did his sister get out of her car when she clearly was in a deserted location (interview in a super secret hideout?)? I like a lot about this show, but there were many, many weaknesses in this episode.
  10. The above statement: "so next time I'm just gonna zip it" would make Kathy (from The Golden Bachelor) so happy.
  11. If the lighting and camera don't interfere with the birds, I think it's a good product. But, it's hard for me to believe that the sharks passed on this but that the hummingbird helmet got an investment. I would so prefer to watch birds through this device than having to wear the plastic face guard to watch hummingbirds.
  12. I really enjoyed this episode-total entertainment for me from beginning to end. I only hope the cat gets to stay with Margaret... Really liked Todd having 'a plan' and getting out on his own. Laughed throughout Todd's weather update. Glad this show is back.
  13. I was very happy that it was Flower who was finally on her way to heaven as she was not my favorite character. Now, at my table for 1, I am disappointed that it seems the character may be backed based upon the posts in the thread. I think it makes the series stronger that there is movement within the ghost community. I thought that seeing Crash in this episode might mean that other ghosts would be developed and I enjoyed the basement ghosts. I personally hope that Flower is, indeed, gone and stays gone. I may be alone in my opinion but it's my preference.
  14. We seem so shocked (well at least some of us) that these participants seem to be pushing their spouses away, don't know how to communicate their feelings and thoughts, and generally talk subjects into oblivion. I think sometimes we forget that there are many, many reasons these participants weren't married or hadn't been in successful relationships. We are watching these participants repeat their same issues, mistakes, etc., that they did in previous relationships. I laugh everytime one of them gives advice to others when all of the current relationships seem to be falling apart. The biggest issue seems to be that they all think their spouse is the one who needs to change in the relationship and that each one of them knows best and that their spouses (and everyone else) should listen to them.
  15. The only thing that interested me was the Peep House for birds. I thought that was the winner of the show. Kids would love watching the birds as would many adults (myself included). The Flora plant thing seemed pointless to me-I go to various websites (especially Clemson University as they are the ag school for South Carolina) for info on myh plants and I get really reliable information. And, like a previous poster, if a plant dies I just replace it. Way cheaper than buying this product and then subscribing to the website. I know the Redhead presenters said that nothing really exists for redheads, but I see many redheads that look amazing, so they are getting their products from somewhere. The splash guard thing seemed awkward-they said you would reach over to wash kids and dogs, but it seems like it would be awkward and frustrating. Just wiping the floor (like Robert said) seems like it would be so much easier and faster than messing with that thing. Wow, Lori was really insufferable during this presentation. And then she implied she 'let' Barbara get the deal because Barbara was more desperate for it. Get over yourself.
  16. Although there is discussion about Brennan looking bored at the hospital, I probably look bored when I'm just waiting in the doctor's office for 10 minutes. Being in a ward/room could be exhausting-there is always something going on, nurses coming in to check on patients, etc. I don't blame him for looking bored-he was being attentive/supportive when appropriate. Do I think it change his feelings towards Emily? Absolutely not. Does she think it changed his feelings towards her? Maybe.
  17. Wow, Reba sure showed her "authentic" self to Brandon and the other women. If Brandon doesn't send her home at his first opportunity, then he may deserve everything that will be coming his way. She had some nerve calling Joy inauthentic. It may be that I'm a bit like Joy in that I try to be positive and enjoy life (and yes, I have been called a "Pollyanna" before but I choose to take that as a compliment...). Reba did try to backtrack, but she only knew Brandon about a week or so at that point and was really too possessive. It was a no-brainer that Brittany would go home. I always laugh at these shows when the contestants all act sad when someone leaves when, in reality, it's one less person for them to compete with. The farms are lovely and the men seem sweet, but I really hope the women understand how their lives would change should they end up living there permanently.
  18. I feel like there is such a focus on "communication" that each participant is focused on what they want to say rather than listening to the other person. Austin was very clear that he didn't want to have the same conversation over and over, but Becca didn't "hear" that and kept pushing him for more intimacy. Same with Orion-so worried about "communicating" how open he was to having a relationship with Lauren that he never bothered to hear her say "no." Oh, and the endless use of cliches rather than actual real words. Brennan is in for it now-no way he can keep any aspect of being a "good" guy when he says no on decision day to Emily after that accident. Austin looks so much better without the hats-I don't get why he always has to wear them (even on the After Party show). Oh, and yes, I know that was a very shallow observation on my part. I think Michael is very performative and seeking attention (unpopular opinion), but maybe Chloe is the perfect match for him as she certainly wanted them to know that she went to parties with 'famous' people. Why else not just say that she poured jagermeister all over herself instead of specifically stating who was there when she did it?
  19. Well, I may be on an island by myself, but I don't like Maria. She seems to be intently trying to capture the camera as often as possible and is quite successful at it. Her over-the-top facial reactions say it all to me. And, for all of the crying that she does, I don't recall seeing any tears (which I may have just missed as I'm usually doing something else while this is on in the background).
  20. Fast forwarded everytime the story was focused on the assistants. The story felt disjointed to me for some reason. Not necessarily compelling.
  21. I think most participants are on this show for the exposure and chance to be on multiple versions of the show (as part of 'Bachelor Nation'...). Therefore, it doesn't really matter what the lead thinks when watching the show-they just want to stay on it long enough to secure their ambitions.
  22. So, all this talk about this show being 'operatic' makes me think they will sing all of the lines rather than speak them. Oh, and that there will be a long, drawn-out death scene.....(I have very limited knowledge of operas...)
  23. Reba seems to think she has this on a lock and can dictate to Brandon. However, he really tried to get her to talk to him over dinner and it seemed like either she was playing 'hard to get' or there might just not be that much to her. That dinner seemed really awkward. She really took a dislike to Joy so I guess we have our drama for the season. I was sorry to hear about McKenzie's dad's health crisis. I liked her and thought she was a good match for her farmer (I obviously don't know names yet). I was really surprised they didn't send another participant to his farm for the 24 hour date since McKenzie cancelled. Oh well, production schedule... The roping team farmer seemed to really like his 24 hour date participant, but then she really didn't participate in the cleaning of the stalls so we shall see how that goes moving forward. And the Nashville farmer seems to have an historic home site. Really interesting. I like this show and, yes, it will take me a while to learn everyone's names (just like any other competitive reality show I watch...).
  24. To me, it looked like Emily was going to try to pass Brennan on the ATVs as she started to veer to the side before we saw the result of the accident. She may have gone off the trail a bit and the ATV was off balance. I am impressed with Brennan's quick and appropriate response. He may actually be a caring individual who just can't stand the person with whom he was matched and therefore comes off horribly on the show. Okay, here is my conspiracy thought: is Emily getting a fairly good edit because of the accident and the producers are really trying to keep her happy? I know they all sign contracts and accept liability for their actions, but that doesn't mean that someone wouldn't win a lawsuit anyway. Oh, and I am just so very, very tired of all of the talking in circles and word salads that we get from the participants. Enough! This may be the worst season in the history of the show. Of course they had to make the 'singles' attend the 'couples' retreat.' Otherwise they wouldn't have enough episodes for the season...
  25. The problem for me was that the total attention seeking participants had all of the camera time to the point I forgot about the lower-key participants. I thought this episode (even though it seemed like it would never end) was much more enjoyable because I no longer had to sit through the antics of Serious, Twirly Joel, the magician and others who really weren't as entertaining as the producers apparently thought they were. I enjoy the cooking demonstrations and watching how the participants translate those cooks. I do not enjoy constant 'look at me' antics. I was glad Sarah (?) won as I enjoyed her more than others.
