  1. Chess takes too long. If I have someone over to sit outside, we're not going to spend 4 hours on one game.
  2. I feel like there's only a third season because these actors are so good. And that's fine. Wow on point INXS joke from 1989. That is a loooooong walk. Tiff's dialogue getting boned was hilarious.
  3. I don't watch Archie and Riverdale, but I'm generally familiar. I watched the Josie cartoon way back. I'm sure I missed some of the inside jokes, but I like the show anyway. I've been in high school my whole life. And you can't beat Sackoff ripping the scenery apart. I liked the songs.
  4. First question I had. Hahaha haha they had a sound bite of the Cilantro song on Steve's radio. I nearly peed myself when they first did the song. I sang it to my dog so much and she loved it. I listen to a lot of radio. There's always a place for it imo. Now, I listen on my Google. If you know the call letters, they play anything. The animation for astral projection was great.
  5. Allowed. I do miss syndicated shows - not reruns of network shows. I mean first run bshows in syndication, sold to local stations. Highlander was one. Xena. It may have aired Saturday at 2 for me, but Thursday at 11 for you. Those shows. You had to find them. No one gave you an alert.
  6. I don't think viewers will en masse pay more to watch sports they used to watch with existing cable and broadcast. Hardcore fans might, but that's not your majority viewing audience.
  7. My cable comes with NBC Sports so I can watch what ever matches they have on. I watched most of the last week matches during the weekdays. And on Saturday, they had all the matches on USA, Golf Channel, etc.
  8. I still watch the Sunday night shows on Fox, and shows here and there, and pbs. I have Hulu, Netflix, and prime. I'm fine with what I have. What I like about Hulu is they have network shows on after they are broadcast over the air, so I'll find some shows that I didn't know were on. I also watch SNL on Hulu on Sunday morning. I think it's a mistake to move sports to streaming. I didn't watch any Champions League because it was on CBS whatever, but I watch the NBC premiere league game of the week every Saturday. Champions League had been on tnt and they did a good job with it. I have zero interest in the NFL Thursday game, but I will watch the Sunday night game over the air too. Other than that, I don't see there much more incentive to content that's going to want me to pay more. I have a friend that just has a regular antenna and Disney + because she's a huge mcu fan. She's not hurting for money so I can buy there are a lot more like her.
  9. Wow I'm way off. I didn't really re read after Rhudien because most of the series is exhausting. The bowl of the winds is fairly important, but I can agree cutting the Sea Folk. I do think it's important that all the cultures have a different Dragon prophecy, and everyone is basically meh that it's Rand. That always cracked me up.
  10. As much as I like the whole weirdness of it, I agree to cut the Tower, but Mat still needs to be Odin-ed up somehow, but I don't see (see what I did there) that it would be hard to do that. But that absolutely has to happen. Same with Rand losing the hand. I'd actually keep the Prophet and lose the Whitecloaks. We're all really from the pov of 'the good guys and ladies', as readers, and we know Rand is the actual Dragon, but is someone from Ebu Dar going to care? He pulled a sword out of what? Who cares? So I think you need that element to show what a pain it is for our heroes to actually get something done because the shadow is coming, whether they believe it or not. I don't want to compare to GOT too much, but it's like no one believing there's anything behind the Wall and then oops, the zombie dragon took care of that. I think you need that in the show, but not the fifty million factions. I think you need it for a time with the Aiel, but they get in line quick. I'm on the fence about the Sea Folk. I'm not going to cry if they're cut, but they're interesting. I guess it depends on how much history they get into, re - Hawkwing. They could do some cool flashback histories. Plus Rand legit earns the heron by beating the Sea Folk guy, and that was really cool.
  11. They could very well be taking the time to find a new lead and push the show to the back of the line in the meantime.
  12. They can get a lead actress though. It's not like you need Cara Dune to be in that lead role. I think the Star Wars universe exactly needed to be knocked down a peg, and Burr's character was a great fit. I love the Clone Wars and Rebels best, but we're dealing with a very small set of characters in the thick of Big Things. Burr reminds me of the Clerks discussion of contractors on the Death Star. We don't really take notice of these kinds of people. He totally was 100% right calling out the Mandalorian on the helmet 'rule'. It's a great line that I've used irl to call people out. He's not a character that can be a regular, but I do hope they run into him again. I hope he's got like a legit machine shop business or something and isn't a smuggler, etc., like every single character already.
  13. I have to commend my local news. I watch at 6 and sometimes 9,and there's no paid ads. The Veil wasn't even trying to con anyone. 80 year German technology? You're inviting them to call you out. Come on.
  14. When the hell did this show get renewed? I just saw it on my dvr. I cannot wait to watch.
  15. I do think Truman only finding out about the nuclear weapons until becoming president was real.
  16. I would have liked Bob to suggest maybe Tina find some new friends.
  17. This was flat all around. Linda having her thing with the raccoons isn't a big deal, but she has to know making actual food is just wasteful.
  18. I don't know if you've seen Sabado Gigante, but it was like that. There's an interview, then everyone is singing. And there's a game show with no rules. I would have liked more of the confidential.
  19. Zeke's new step mom let's him say ass! Gene is going to LOVE this movie. Bob really needs to put his foot down sometimes. There's no way he should have let the kids come. Zeke seemed a little ooc to me. He's usually not annoying.
  20. I was thinking of this. It was a really big one. It's actually a bigger payoff. The first one could be like, 'he didn't knew what he was doing, this was just showing that Rand was legit.' Rahvin was more a deliberate, taking earrings off, oh I'm so over with this now. But, no way, balefire needs to be some Matrix camera span swoosh, making lightsabers look like sparklers deal.
  21. Doesn't Rand use balefire for the first time when Moraine slams Lanfear through the door? I do want to see that weave. It's got to be a Big Deal. As much as I am a Mat fan, for tv getting rid of the whole Snakes is probably necessary. It's not like he doesn't have anything to do. You still need to Odin Mat up though so he can invent magic tank warfare. I suppose you could still use Av at the end with the Bore because she's certainly strong enough, but she's not really as forward thinking as Mo, and really being there at the end was literally her life purpose since the Foretelling.
