  1. I would be delighted to see Nathan Fillion show us how he assembles his Halloween costumes. He has made some good ones. I can't stand to watch show runner interviews any more.
  2. At least in the show, Sheldon did not claim that his family made up the song, just that they sang it to him. Same with "rock paper scissors lizard Spock," which some viewers think the show made up but they didn't -- Sheldon did not say he made it up.
  3. West Wing was in season two in fall 2000 when the U.S. presidential election happened. This election was a terrible mess that took more than a month to settle, and people still debate who should have won. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_2000 I was in a West Wing discussion group. We agreed that if this election had been a WW story line, it would have been condemned as ridiculous and unrealistic. Most people expect fiction to make sense, but the real world does not have that constraint.
  4. Lawsuit claims Big Bang Theory stole "Soft Kitty" song http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/tv/2015/12/28/lawsuit-claims-big-bang-stole-soft-kitty-song/77989574/
  5. What time did the movie start? On the east coast the first showing was at midnight, which I thought was because it couldn't be shown until Friday. If it also started at midnight on the west coast, Sheldon could spend the evening with Amy (who presumably planned to work Friday) and then go to the movie. But if the movie started earlier I can see his dilemma. I too wondered about "protection." With the Professor Proton scenes before and after the coitus, I wondered for a moment whether the coitus was a dream Sheldon had. Apparently not. But I haven't kept track of Sheldon's Wednesday vs. Friday pajamas.
  6. Midge -- if you are in the US, you should be able to watch the episode on the CBS web site tomorrow.
  7. Ooh, how would I get a jacket? Maybe we should all have matching muumuus too.
  8. The wall over the judge's bench said "In God We Trust." Would a courtroom in Illinois really have that? What about other states?
  9. I seriously doubt that. A documentary maker typically shoots far more footage than will be in the final cut. Anything not directly related to the subject would probably not appear in the final version.
  10. I don't recall why Bow was expected to volunteer and Dre wasn't, but they could both join the local branch of the Medical Reserve Corps https://www.medicalreservecorps.gov which needs both medical and non-medical people. The volunteers help in emergencies and also organize non-emergency events such as flu vaccine clinics. (And yes, it requires a background check. Take that, Ruby!)
  11. Song identification: isn't there an app for that? Shamy: "Oh no, not again!" as the bowl of petunias thought in HHGTTG.
  12. Maybe my public library is more enlightened than some, but it has all of TWW on DVD. Yours might too.
  13. The name of the hospital always sounds a little odd to me. There is an Angell Memorial Hospital in Boston. It's a veterinary medical center.
  14. Off topic but … at the time of Katrina the media showed interviews with people affected. This year for the tenth anniversary they showed updates on a few of the people but I wonder about the others. Especially, there was a very articulate young boy in a blue shirt who was worried about his diabetic grandmother. Is there a site or other source of information?
  15. Not plutonium. Polonium. Like the poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poisoning_of_Alexander_Litvinenko
  16. F**tb*ll ran late (surprise!). In the East, this ep would have started at 11:01. My CBS station went right into news after The Good Wife, with no explanation. Apparently Whoever is saving this ep for later.
  17. For those of us who know nothing about The Lion King, what was the song about? Was it appropriate for the situation?
  18. With the arm acting on its own, I expected a "Dr. Strangelove" reference. Did I miss one? Maybe they could have worked in "You're gonna have to answer to the Coca-Cola company."
  19. And here is the "soft on turkeys" video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luTzmLiVC4I
  20. 371012 -- my schedule says Castle will be on channel 5.2, the MeTV affiliate.
  21. What is Clyde's new diet? Guessing that was what Sherlock was mixing at the beginning of the episode, but in that scene I had trouble understanding what JLM was saying.
  22. George Takei also said (likely in a different interview) that he knew that he and his family were in jail, and as a young child he figured that it must be his fault. There were probably children in wartime Britain who thought they had somehow caused the bombings.
  23. Do you use a darning needle when you knit? I don't. Did I misunderstand the dragonfly question?
  24. Lee Lofland's review: http://www.leelofland.com/wordpress/castle-the-last-seduction-a-good-copbad-cop-review/
  25. Joan has been corresponding with Papa Holmes for years, since she became Sherlock's sober companion. She may well have had strong opinions about Papa before she met him. What happened to Mycroft? He was sick, but is he still around somewhere?
