  1. Beverly was horrible; she was making the wedding all about her. Penny should have said "the hell with this; you have to leave. Leonard, give her cab fare. I don't want to see you again until you can be nice to my husband." I love Christine Baranski, but I wouldn't put up with that.
  2. In season 5 episode 8 - "Elysian Fields" - a retired detective, played by Tom Skerritt, has tortured and murdered a suspect in a killing in order to get a confession and close a case before he dies of cancer. Brenda: "You are a lifelong and decorated member of the law enforcement community. How could you do something like this?" Det. Joey 'O' Olin: "The Make a Wish Foundation refused to do it for me."
  3. Regarding alcohol during pregnancy: I don't know if it widely accepted during the 40s that alcohol could jeopardize the fetus. I do know that during the 60s many women drank and smoked during pregnancy. At any rate, drinking wine was probably less dangerous than drinking the water in Paris.
  4. That "therapist" is totally useless. There had to be 20 ways to better approach this problem. Poor Meri.
  5. My take is the squatter assumed she saw their credit report, but Jessica basically says no, her gut is her credit check.
  6. Actually, I think it would have been pretty funny if the crowd got behind Sheldon on this one, because he was absolutely right. I like episodes with Beverly, because I like Christine Baranski, but she is a horrible person. I sure wouldn't put up with her rudeness. I'd love to see Penny stand up to her.
  7. Prom has gotten insane! I have read about some enterprising students going into "promposal" business. Then with the "required" rental limo and the expensive dresses and everything else, the cost of prom has skyrocketed. I get looks of disbelief when I describe my 1975 prom to today's teenagers.
  8. I thought Mitchell's promposal was adorable - just the right amount of showbiz. Lucky Cameron!
  9. I hope Leonard and Howard don't worry too much about "military applications". Just about any invention has military implications, and "military" doesn't equate to "bad" anyway.
  10. I enjoyed the various flashbacks; it was an interesting way to show a little backstory. It was telling to see how Jimmy's confidence was so affected by his father's opinion. I'm sorry to see Jimmy's father won't be on any more shows (unless they do more flashbacks!). I like Paul Sorvino.
  11. Eddie Huang was on The Late Show (Colbert) the other night. I don't think I've ever seen him before, and it struck me how the actor who plays him (Hudson Yang) really has him nailed.
  12. For some reason people think it's ok to talk about all Southerners being prejudiced. Ironic.
  13. The Christian band twist was pretty funny, especially Cam's reaction during his drumming. The way he screamed that last line! But I was a bit disappointed too, that Cam's point that not all Christians are gay bashers was shot down. Did not care for the dog bit, but I did LOL at Phil with the crumbs in his beard.
  14. In general, I like Ricky Gervais. But his new campaign for Verizon is getting on my last nerve!
  15. I'm so glad to hear this. Watching on television, it seemed to me the crowd was appreciative of great skating, regardless of the nationality of the skater. Such a difference from the crowds in Sochi!
  16. Shoes! I thought of that too, but maybe being jailed for "contempt of court" isn't considered being arrested? I was a bit disappointed at why he was in arrested; I wanted something really out of the blue, like a trespassing complaint for breaking into a nuclear facility looking for yellow cake.
  17. I loved this episode; this show keeps getting better and better!
  18. Speaking of illusion - Adam Rippon, please, just stop with the illusion tops.
  19. I too was happy for Ashley - that was a fun program to watch. I liked her short program too. The ladies' free skate was the only one on NBC. The other competitions were on the NBC Sports Network (NBCSN).
  20. I absolutely agree; that was painful to watch. After watching the emoting of the dance competition, the men's competition seemed so blah. And then Javi lit up the venue! He just looked like he was enjoying himself, didn't he?
  21. So many of the dance pairs routines looked alike to me. So much tragic love! One thing I appreciate about the Shibutanis is they really can't do that.
  22. I wonder where they'll go with Tyler's wedding. That was kinda shocking.
  23. I was actually surprised that Leonard and Howard were allowed to keep their cell phones during the preview. When Sheldon showed Amy the storage unit, I thought "well of course! Sheldon is an organized hoarder!" I also thought that there's medication that could help him, but take it from someone with a family member who is a hoarder - hoarders seldom think they have a problem.
  24. Note to mods or someone: the topic subject is S03, it should be S07
  25. I used to work with several Chinese people (born in China, living in the US). Only one kept his Chinese name, and we all mangled it. The others told me that they were assigned an "English" name in their schools when they learned English back in China and Taiwan. One of them had learned written English in school but never had the opportunity to speak it until she came to the US. Her written English was impeccable, but we could hardly understand her spoken English.
