  1. My breakfast is primarily fruit and yogurt smoothies, and yes, they really are like healthy milkshakes. (I could tell you what ROCK STARS fiber and flax seeds are to make them last all morning. I could also tell you the secret is using real fruit - either fresh or frozen. Think I could get people to give me money every month for great advice like this?) Green smoothies are a trend that has been around for several years so Janelle is not exactly cutting edge on the nutrition front here. But, while it is indeed healthful to have a nutritious meal for breakfast it isn't going to matter if you then follow that up by eating out several times a week - especially if "eating out" consists of going through the drive-through. And she just hit 50. Are we now going to hear how she can't lose weight because of menopause hormones? Or are we going to be subject to all the "nutrition" advice she googled about ways to naturally help with symptoms?
  2. Yes. Imagine if they were doing a challenge to create a look for a male and they asked "What is your boy's story?" You would assume they were talking about someone under the age of 12! I'm on board with everyone else who questions why your model needs a "story." And the story is always, "She's going to an art gallery, party, opening, 5 star restaurant, red carpet event." No one is EVER just going to an office, the grocery store or even (if going out with friends) the local pizza place. How about "I thought I'd get arrested if I left the house naked so I decided to wear something I liked that fit me and was appropriate for where I was going."
  3. Nope, it's a health fad. It's sort of an attempt to get vegetables without tasting like vegetables. Her smoothie looks particularly disgusting.
  4. YES! $500 and 1/3 of it was for a couple yards of lycra!! They didn't even need to be in the same color palette. Yes, it was for the same person to take on vacation, but was the instruction to make it cohesive? I understand, someone who dresses very severely in black and white for daytime is not likely to go all out with flouncy pastel ruffles, but seriously, when was the last time you made sure your evening outfit went with your bathing suit? If that was a criterion, Sebastian's strap element that they all used would have been enough to call it a "collection."
  5. Still better than the short shorts. I think that's because she has really come in to her own. It must be a real hell growing up knowing that what you are at your core is "wrong" or "sinful." I think the only reason she said she would be a sister wife (when younger) was because she was at least hoping to be able to develop close friendships/relationships with women. She became really happy when she finally decided it was OK to delete the man from that equation.
  6. This link opened one of those scammy phishing sites trying to get me to enter my passwords. Be careful!
  7. I'm there with you about this kidnapping story. And notice how when Charlotte (and Ciara) were missing, the entire police force were on it 24/7? Now, it's like yeah, we're sort of looking for her, in between taking a leave of absence and discussing going on vacation, and Hope mooning over Ted like a 13 year old. (Seriously, what has he ever done that she should say she's developing feeling for him?) Both Stefan and Brady are content to let the Keystone Kops look for her while they go on with their lives. I'm also REALLY over Nicole blaming everyone else for Holly's disappearance. "I trusted her to never take her eyes off her" or some such crap. Does this mean for the next X number of years Chloe was supposed to hire 24/7 nannies? Otherwise, was she never going to be allowed to shower, go to the bathroom or even blink? She was eating dinner - in another room - with a baby monitor! Should they have been sitting in her room eating in the dark?
  8. Renee is a class act. It seemed like she knew she was the one who was going to be eliminated. Don't know if she realized the pants were THAT bad, or she saw the handwriting on the wall - first Sonia, now her - NO WAY is an older designer going to win this. She's made pants several times before - was she doubting herself because she had the larger model and thought someone else would know how to fit her better? Hester should have been disqualified from the win simply for the bad fit of that swim suit. I know of NO ONE, male or female, who wants to walk down the beach sporting a wedgie! From the back, Garo's gown reminded me of the Carol Burnett curtain dress.
  9. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your point. Are you suggesting that they should have a season with all "average woman" sized models? It might be interesting if the outlier episodes were then to do a design for a typical thin model. To go with a totally off the wall idea - I would love it if they would have to do a sketch without knowing if they were getting a smaller or larger model. They would then also be judged on how well they adapted the look for whatever model they got, since I think a LOT of them don't design for the challenge - they design for the model and come up with a reason why their design fits the challenge.
  10. They might be interested in owning a big ass house - just not one near a good place to retire! If you don't have a good job in the area - you aren't taking the house.
  11. Nope, she is going to find the magic bullet. The ONE THING that will make it possible to lose weight without changing a single other thing in her life. And she will get this wonderful effect by ADDING something. She will not have to cut back on something (I'm one of those people who basically believes you shouldn't have to completely give up anything - except diet soda, that's just terrible stuff - you should simply adjust your consumption.) She will not have to make substitutions - fresh or frozen vegetables for high sodium canned ones, whole grain bread instead of Wonder Bread, etc. She will simply discover the ONE "rock star" that will change her life.
  12. This happens every season when they go to the lives. They went by teams of six and America always voted in 2 and the judges saved 1 so it always went from 24 to 12. The only thing different this season is that the teams are not uniform. I think the cross battles were an interesting idea as they got the voting public involved earlier and good singers weren't necessarily eliminated because they weren't a particular judges favorite. One problem was apparently they set up the voting by judge not by battle - this didn't make it easy for people to vote for performers but easy to vote for your favorite judge. I think the biggest problem for me personally is there just don't seem to be any standout performers. And, yes, I am old, but I didn't recognize quite a few of the songs, making it harder to associate someone (good or bad) with a particular favorite.
  13. Seriously, we always suspected Justin was a terrible lawyer, but HOW could he support this marriage without telling them that even NON-SCAM marriages (under normal circumstances) have to last for at least two years before the person gets a permanent green card. They card they get that allows them to work is only temporary, not permanent.
  14. I wouldn't necessarily blame Chloe for this but I can see why Nicole isn't in a rational, forgiving mood - especially since this just happened and emotions are heightened (on top of whatever Nicole's gone through to get back.) Yes, if she was REALLY all that worried about her child why didn't she call Maggie FIRST THING? She didn't teleport there - even while she was in transit she could have contacted someone. She didn't have to wake Holly to check on her - most people are capable of walking in a room and not waking a child or viewing them from an angle so even if they woke up they wouldn't see you right away. She should be feeling guilty because she had several opportunities to alert someone but instead chose to spend her first night back with Eric (not that I think she is in any way to blame - but if you're going to hand out guilt, most people would blame themselves). She shouldn't have to forgive Chloe for anything. And I thought they were just looking to kill Chloe (hence coming to Doug's place more than once) - maybe I wasn't really paying attention but they didn't seem to be actively looking to harm the children.
  15. Do we really think she is enrolled in a serious yoga course outside of a touristy area? I think in her mind foreign country equals more legitimate instruction. She does seem to be flexible and quite dedicated but we don't really know. And in her family, they don't always seem to work for real achievements (Janelle's life coach "certification" being a prime example.) She could be doing the foreign equivalent of a class at the local YMCA.
  16. I think all of the daughters aspire to be SAHMs once they start having children. They grew up with this type of "business" and see nothing wrong with it as a way to bring in extra cash while staying home with their children. They probably all appreciated having Christine around as she was probably their only real source of stability and are looking to recreate that feeling for their own kids.
  17. She is in Bali not the middle east. I do NOT know enough about the local culture to know if shorts are inappropriate. However, she really should wear shorts that fit her properly.
  18. Whoa, way to be a bitch Nicole. Let's be honest, the reason she didn't go to Holly wasn't because she was worried about upsetting her (otherwise why wouldn't she simply have gone there to look at her or watch over her.) She was more interested in reuniting with Eric than with her daughter. But apparently, while that was OK for Nicole, Cloe wasn't even supposed to eat. That's really all their "date" was - eating a meal without the kids present. Every parent has, at least once, left the room while their child is sleeping. Apparently, Cloe is remiss because she has not hired someone to spend every minute simply staring at Holly.
  19. But, but we're supposed to be so AMAZED she is back from the dead (after all, she's only the 837th person to do that) that we don't ask any questions.
  20. I actually cringed at a couple of them. I haven't bothered to remember a lot of their names because it seems like a lot of them aren't very good. Maybe once the fodder is gone I'll find someone I like among the rest. Am I the only person who has better memories of past contestants (even - or should I say especially - ones who didn't win from the earlier seasons?) It really seems like the talent pool is becoming more and more generic. All GOOD singers, no great/memorable ones.
  21. I think that is the appeal of Tony for Mykelti. Financial (and probably general life) stability that she did NOT get growing up. They don't really have much credit history so they couldn't be doing the crap of the older generation (interest only loans, pull all the equity, move and abandon the homes.) They lived in a crap apartment until they bought their condo. Tony has said no to babies until they are more established. I think he let her try the Lulano thing because he saw Meri making money doing it and she really wants to establish a home business so she can afford to have a baby. She married the first man who showed any interest in her but I really think she made damn sure she wasn't going to be moving 19 times in 20(1?2?) years. She refers to Tony as a "banker" but he probably has one of those boring, semi-OK-paying back room jobs in the banking industry processing loans, document search, etc. Same with Madison and Aspyn - I think the appeal (which we may not see) is stability.
  22. Yup. And both Brady and Jennifer should have open heart surgery scars. Poor Phillip should not only be missing a leg but have scars where he had a face transplant! Jack shouldn't actually have any organs as his were donated when he "died" (I'm not going to count how many deaths ago.) Not only do people in Salem return from the dead, they miraculously regrow limbs and organs and they never scar! Poor Steve somehow never developed this miraculous ability - he still only has one eye.
  23. Being an extrovert and being comfortable in a public speaking role are two entirely different things! I am very much an introvert but public speaking doesn't bother me a bit. I'm saying rehearsed things and NOT having to try and be charming/interesting on the spot. But a LOT of extroverts have trouble with public speaking - maybe they feel too constricted?
  24. While Mood does have some VERY expensive fabric most of it is downright reasonable. (They are not a wholesaler so they do have to make money selling fabric to the average home sewer - NOT someone who can, or will, spend $200-$300 on a single outfit.) Given what some of them purchase, I can't really believe they are spending all of their money - it looks like they found it in the bargain bin. On All Stars they had a challenge to make something with silk and while some of it was very high end most of the silk was less than $30 a yard. Unless you were buying VERY expensive trims and notions a designer could have easily bought 8 yards of fabric plus notions - more than enough to clothe ANY body and still have some left over.
  25. Mariah - I absolutely think it is OK for you to wear shorts in a hot environment. Maybe next time you will buy some in YOUR size (also 2 or 3 inches longer would be much more appropriate.) I see she learned fit from her mother. I am truly not trying to body shame her - I'm just saying clothes that fit are usually a lot more flattering.
