  1. Catchy Comedy binges for September. Nothing new here, all stuff that has been binged before - 9/2-3: The Bob Newhart Show/Bob/Newhart; 9/9-10: My 3 Sons; 9/16-17: Our Miss Brooks; 9/23-24: Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.
  2. These people are so weird. Their cult has this total baby fetish, yet they treat a fragile newborn this way. Their attitude toward babies/kids is such an odd mixture of reverence and contempt.
  3. As out there as it sounds, Anna's situation reminds me of on The Sopranos, when Carmela finally had enough of Tony's running around, and decided she wanted a divorce. When she went looking for a lawyer, she found no one would take her case. Once they found out who she wanted a divorce from, they were all, no thanks, I'd rather live. So she was forced to stay and make the best of it. Like Carmela, what Anna might want and what she can realistically have, are two different things.
  4. Caught today's Start TV episode, which was 1.06, "I Kissed A Girl," coincidentally on its 13th anniversary. It originally aired Aug. 16, 2010. I remember it well, and discussing it at work with a friend the next day. Hard to believe it was that long ago!
  5. Doctrine & Donuts, aka Indoctrination & Indigestion.
  6. A picnic basket! What did Dorothy refer to Merv Griffin as in her dream when she was on Jeopardy!, because he's so mannered and sophisticated?
  7. Ugh. This. All these women look alike to me. Hef definitely had a 'type'; that, or when he was interested in someone, had her remake herself into his ideal. Either way, they all look alike. This season has been a disappointment, after an interesting S1. The only truly powerful moment, to me, was in the Playboy on campus episode. One of the commentators noted that, the student who posed for Playboy was derided and dismissed as a slut, while the student who protested Playboy's presence on campus, was derided and dismissed as a humorless prig. When it comes to sex, no matter what opinion a woman has, she can't win. Good point.
  8. Bill is catching abuse for his little temper tantrum - https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/bill-maher-barbie-one-lamest-133000534.html
  9. Aww, Bill's all butthurt by Barbie. An old, straight, white guy thinks the patriarchy is made up. Alert the media!
  10. Yes, Subway always used pre-sliced meats (of questionable makeup). Actually putting slicers in all the stores is a big deal. I'm sure all the franchisees hate it 😁
  11. What I don't understand is, I've never been in a Dollar Tree where at least half the candy section wasn't Haribo crap. Where do they get the money to show their commercials constantly when they're a dollar store darling?
  12. Her actions definitely speak to the title of this thread. Courageous or foolhardy? Maybe both. Courageous, though, absolutely. Good luck to her, taking on a cult leader.
  13. Leah has filed a lawsuit - https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/leah-remini-sues-church-of-scientology-leader-david-miscavige-alleging-years-of-psychological-torture-181336569.html
  14. Not a bad end to the season, 3/5, including Thu and Fri, so a strong finish!
  15. I thought I was the only one grossed out by the 'oozing' spots. There are quite a few, so I figured everyone but me must find them appealing. Nice to know I'm not alone! When they press down on some sandwich and the sauce or mayo comes oozing out? UGH. So unappetizing. If I was hungry, I'm not anymore, which is not the effect food advertising is supposed to have.
  16. It looks like the Second Chance Tournament is the first rerun, followed by last year's Tournament of Champions. Here's the latest on this year's tourney - https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/jeopardy-tournament-of-champions-delay-winners-writers-strike-203837254.html
  17. 2/5. Instaget Monday, educated guess on Tuesday, then bust. For those interested in seeing the ISS, here are the details - https://spotthestation.nasa.gov/
  18. 2/5, W/F. Should have remembered the Maine. Didn't 🙁
  19. That stupid Jardiance ad is carpet bombing the channels I watch lately. It seems to be on in every break. It's really annoying in that it goes against the golden rule of theater, something like, if a gun is introduced in the first act, someone must use it by the final act. Don't sing about the 'big story to tell', then say nothing about that story. Irritating, and stupid. And these singing/dancing ads are all annoying, a big tune-out factor for me. Especially the ones where animals are doing so. Hey advertisers, once and for all: Animals cannot speak!! Nor can they sing or dance!!! It ain't the least bit cute to watch.
  20. Catchy Comedy binges for August - 8/5-6: The Dean Martin Celebrity Roast; 8/12-13: The Honeymooners; 8/19-20: The Monkees; 8/26-27: Full House. Decades used to run GS, but it was dropped when the network rebranded itself.
  21. 2/5, Weak start to the week, good finish.
  22. Murder, She Wrote is being added to the schedule, following this weekend's marathon. Two episodes will air daily from 9-11 a.m. (ET), and a single episode at 4 p.m. Dr. Quinn and Touched By an Angel are both cut back to one episode from 6-8 a.m., and Any Day Now is moved to 8 a.m.
