  1. BVD, Vanessa... you can tell who the stage actors are because they're not holding back for the dress.
  2. I think they'd need more time to figure out the transitions. It was too close to airtime for that. It's a shame because it's like some of them were holding back during rehearsal to wait for the live event.
  3. I really, really, really can't wait for the Fosse/Verdon thing. Really.
  4. Honestly, I don't know since I've only been home for about 20 minutes. Peeps above said the last act will be live, so we can look forward to that. I hope.
  5. There was no studio audience during The Wiz. Some people thought it was a problem. I'm fine with it either way. I just got home and thought "is this on tape" because it didn't look live. And...it's not. Oh well, Rent was never one of my favorite shows. I just like the live on TV thing. And I love theatre.
  6. And I liked the first half better than the second half (other than the dog rap - that was great). I think the accent in the Charmin focus group was Philly with a little Baltimore thrown in. I first thought Steve Martin, then thought maybe John Goodman, then knew it was Steve by the end. It was wonderful. Update was also wonderful. I loved the UES rap with Leslie, especially the end - she didn't forget where she came from, she remembered. Overall though, it was... okay.
  7. Wow - Steve Martin, then James McAvoy in a kilt. Quite a lovely start.
  8. I was planning on seeing The Music Man, but I'll be out of town. Timing... Tomorrow I'm seeing Ain't Misbehavin' at Signature. I love this show so much I wanted to see it the first week because if it's fabulous, I'll go back a couple of times. And if it sucks, I can warn everyone. I hope it's fabulous!!

There is nothing as life-sustaining as a lifelong sports grudge! I hate the Jets and the Mets (don't mention 1969 to me). And of course, I hate the Colts. There are others, but those are at the top (or bottom, as the case may be) of my list.

I am so incredibly peeved right now...
  11. This pretty much sums up my feelings, except I wasn't crazy about the Kool-Aid/Gillette thing. And I did love the millennial/boomer game show, especially Aidy's song. I hang out on a Zeppelin board and they mostly like GVF there, but I just don't see it. Overall, the show was...okay.

So I guess I should be glad I've been shoveling snow during the first half? Nah... I hate snow. I'd have rather watched this.
  13. One of the best shows I've ever seen. And I'm old.
  14. Huh... my Comcast DVR automatically changed it. Maybe because they own the network... However, it's a good thing to check.
  15. I'm actually awake (sorta) and watching TV this morning...and the Bobbsey Twins are "on assignment". Must be my lucky day! Willie and Katty are lovely, but the star for me was Michael Steele's sweater.
  16. Okay Andy, I'll give you five stars!! Always fun hanging out here with you all!
  17. I expected to love A Star is Born and I didn't. I wasn't expecting to love Bohemian Rhapsody and I did. Rami winning makes me very happy!
  18. I loooove Glenn Close - ever since I saw her in Barnum with Jim Dale a hundred years ago!! (I also love Lady Gaga, but she's got more chances in her future. Not that Glenn doesn't. Okay, I'll stop now).
  19. Something on FX about Gwen Verdon and Bob Fosse. I can't wait.
  20. I didn't know he was in it until I was at the movie and said out loud - wow, Anthony Ramos! I liked the elements of the movie - directing, acting, songs - but the whole didn't hang together for me for some reason that I have yet to pinpoint. And for the record, I call the Babs version A Star Is Stillborn. I hated it (and I love Babs). The Judy version is the gold standard for me.
  21. I was wondering why they didn't bleep Jeff saying "turn this shit around" until I realized he said ship. Shit.
  22. I've forgotten all the movies I've loved with Jeff Bridge - Fabulous Baker Boys, King Kong (out first Christmas Night movie!) and most of all, Starman. I love Starman.
  23. I need to win lotto so I can stay home and watch TV and movies (and baseball) all day! And drink!!
