  1. Bowen Yang with 10 things about living in NY Gift link from the NYT
  2. I also wear a watch. I sometimes wish I could wear more than one at a time because I might have...43. I was joking at work that for my retirement, they should get me a gold watch, and then mentioned to my boss that there was a new Fossil Mickey Mouse watch that I loved, but it was $400. When he asked me to show him which one, I knew I was going to get it - and I did! It's one that runs off of movement - I have to set it if it's been sitting around for a few days, but it works off the movement of my arm and keeps perfect time. I love it!
  3. Cat book? In case @annzeepark914is busy tonight, here's the article.
  4. I thoroughly enjoyed this show, even with all the breaking. Because I was laughing, too, so I get why they were. Cameos, but not too many. And mostly funny writing. And pretty good music. Well done.
  5. Caitlin Clark is a star! The whole show has been pretty good so far.

This. What I can't get over is his finance firm not having access to the account his salary goes into. That's just not good practice. IMO, the first thing he needs to do is get a new finance firm.
  7. I'm anything but an alarmist, but if it's easy to go inside with a check to mail, I'd go inside. Our local outside blue box was vandalized a couple of years ago, so I take important stuff inside. If parking is difficult, you'll most likely be okay with the outside box.

Juan Soto's totally cool cleats You know this pains me, having to give any Yankee any love at all, but here we are...
  9. Are we getting a celebrity cameo in every sketch tonight?

It looks like full episodes of LOD are on the website, if you don't mind watching on your computer.
  11. Also on the Upper West Side now and I totally missed it. I miss all fun...
  12. I'm in NYC now. I take the subway everywhere. Or the bus. Tonight we'll be walking to dinner and Lincoln Center. My thought is try not to let fear overtake your life and keep you locked in your house. There's a lot to do out here. If you're aware of your surroundings, you'll be fine.
  13. To me, this is the key paragraph - you don't regret your decision and you're enjoying your life. I'm going to bet that a lot of the folks posting on FB would love to be able to say that. And you can give them as much or as little info for the directory as you want. That's what I do - give out an email and say I still live in the area and be done with it. My 50th is next year and I do enjoy getting together with folks every five or so years. Then not seeing them again for another five or so years. @kristen111, I've been retired for a whole 3 days now and I'm really getting good at bonding with my couch! We're off to NYC tomorrow for a long weekend, then I will be back to work harder at couch-bonding. It's fabulous.
  14. Surprisingly (to me anyway) I mostly enjoyed this, even the cold open. WU was great, even Sarah. I'm always up for a Sunglasses of Justice appearance. I thought the Tiny Desk Concert idea could have been done so much better, though. So, mostly good. Which is ... mostly good.
  15. I retired - today was my last day. I might be a little excited...

Slight change of plans due to "internal backlash." Thank goodness for internal backlash. MSNBC is spared. Now they just need to un-hire her from the rest of the network.

End of an era. One that started out so well, then it continued into...something else.

I believe they said she'd be showing up on MSNBC, but since I then went into a rage blackout, I can't be sure.

OMG, they hired Ronna McDaniel. Why???????????????????????????
  23. Good concert week for me! Saw Rhiannon Giddens on Monday. She's so incredibly talented in everything. She plays about a million instruments (favoring the banjo), writes wonderful songs and does a great thing in keeping the history of Americana music alive. I'm still bitter that the Broadway show she was supposed to do was closed before she started. And that was 8 years ago. Saw Jon Batiste last night. He's brilliant. And Trombone Shorty made a cameo appearance during the show-they've been friends since childhood and happened to end up in the same city at the same time. How fortunate for me!! I'm still recovering 24 hours later.

This is the business I work in (not gambling, but handling athlete finances) and there's an incredibly high chance that Ohtani wouldn't notice any of these transactions. Not saying it did or didn't happen, but many of the athletes are checked out of that side of their lives. That's why they should always hire my firm - we're great! (Seriously, we are)
  25. This is a show that I enjoy a great deal while I'm watching it and immediately forget it when I walk out of the theatre.
