I love Jon Batiste as much as the next person (okay - more than the next person), but we really didn't need to see him and Leon during the segment. Especially because it made it so difficult to see the people they were paying tribute to.
If he's still there on Thursday, I'll go over and smack him with the umbrella I'm picking up before the game (along with a few 'heads. I got the umbrella because I had extra season ticket "points" and they ran out of 'heads that I want, but if it comes in handy... )
Nobody else gets to complain about losing games late today (okay, yesterday) except me. The Worst Team in the Majors blew both games of a doubleheader after leading in both games until the top of the 7th (ugh). Both games. And in game 2, we were winning 1-0 and ended up losing 11-2.
My team wins(!) the day. So there!
You all can take up complaining about late losses again tomorrow.
I became a fan of Olga Luxury Lift a couple years ago. Comfy, supportive and they come in a variety of colors. I get them mostly on sale at Kohl's, but I've bought a couple from eBay in colors I can't find in the store.
I'm guessing the start of the long weekend. Joy did 2 hours, then Chris did 2 hours and by then, I'd turned on the baseball game so I don't know what happened next.
Which reminds me of a time back in the stone age (sometime in the 80s) when I dropped off my prescription for birth control pills at the pharmacy counter and went over to the side of the store to wait. The pharmacy clerk then yells after me "did you want 1 month or 3?" And everyone looked over, so I yelled back "3 - thanks."
Seriously??
Also, no annoying people sitting behind us explaining the game to their friends who know nothing about baseball. Those people always seem to sit directly behind us. And no lines at concession stands. So there are some good things.
The team is not one of those good things.
If there were 2,000 people in the ballpark today, I'd be surprised. So, if anyone wants to join us for the next Sunday home game, there are seats available...
I had the great pleasure of having Ed Asner (and Madeline Kahn) at the theatre where I worked in the late 80s when they did Born Yesterday. He was a lovely man and a lot of fun to have around. Rest in peace, Ed!
