  1. Robert Plant and Allison Krauss on the show tonight. I've been tuning in to all the stuff they've done recently. The NPR Music Listening Party today on YouTube was quite good. When we went to a taping of the show, they told us to start lining up around 2ish (or maybe 3ish) and the taping started at 5:30, so it goes most of the afternoon. Line up, check in, wait in the lobby, get seated, warm-up comic, Stephen takes questions... it's a time suck, but totally worth it.
  2. Looking forward to the new album coming out tomorrow. There will be a couple of live events on YouTube. It's like 14 years haven't actually passed...
  3. Adam Driver on the power of live theatre was amazing and wonderful. There's nothing like live theatre and I'm so grateful that I get to experience it as often as I do.
  4. Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought he was mentioning Idris in relation to how he looked next to Idris and how he felt he might have been "lacking", not how wonderful the rest of the cast was. Although I admit, I don't remember exactly what he said, so I may be wrong (which would not be the first time, not the last). I thought he was charming, but kinda invisible in that he wasn't the lead in any sketch and had few lines in the ones he was in. Much reaction, few lines.
  5. OMG I HATE the Facebook commercials where they "interview" employees about their "jobs" and how fabulous Facebook is. Because A) Facebook is not fabulous (not that I know this since I'm not connected), and 2) those people are AWFUL! And it's such an obvious ploy to get us to not hate Facebook. Blech
  6. Is it Bring Your Child to Work day? Bless their hearts. That said, the Broadway benefit sketch just made me so happy because it's a riff on a song from one of my very favorite, forgotten musicals - I Love My Wife. The sketch was fine. The actual show was wonderful. And just because I like you all, here's the song... I'm so glad the show is not totally forgotten.
  7. Man Park was so hilariously accurate. I hope Mr. ebk didn't realized I was laughing so hard because it's so true.
  8. You want to talk about a really nice person - that's Victor. He's one of the most wonderful people I've even had the pleasure of knowing. And he's good looking!
  9. I was highly amused by the doc. These folks really turned what could have been a disaster into a raging success. Good for them! I do wonder if they're still actually in the landscaping business at all 😄 Hopefully that will be addressed in the conversation coming up.

Ravens tried really, really hard not to win that game. Good thing they didn't succeed. Or something like that. Also, to your earlier post, I remember listening to a baseball game on XM through my computer at work and it was a full half inning behind the actual game. I know this because I could hear a coworker reacting to plays while watching on a TV he has in his office. SiriusXM is great as long as there's nothing "live" around you while you're listening.
  11. You're most welcome! Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. I believe the piece you're asking about is St. James Infirmary Blues. Here he is playing it on the show.
  12. It's incredible!!! https://www.pbs.org/video/jon-batiste-hjvtz3/
  13. In case you haven't seen it yet... here's Jon! And he's fab!!! https://www.pbs.org/video/jon-batiste-hjvtz3/

Thanks for reminding me about that fabulous Terps game yesterday... oy. 😉 I'll have the games on the TV - because baseball! - and guess I hope Dusty wins. Because I can't stand Atlanta. And I probably shouldn't have said that out loud because so far, nothing good has come from wanting a team to lose. Sigh...
  15. I thought it was an enjoyable show. Loved to see how much Jason seemed to be thrilled to be there. The monologue was really touching, as were the goodbyes. I thought the parent/teacher meeting was great, and the last sketch riffing on "Indecent Proposal" was silly fun. Not the greatest show ever, but better than most. Oh, and you can't go wrong with Brandi Carlisle.
  16. What Up With That never fails to make me smile. And tonight, I was laughing like a lunatic through most of it.

Ugh. The thought of not watching the World Series makes me sad - no baseball till spring. But now... I'm just not sure I can do it. Ugh.
  18. Wrist watches and bobbleheads. And wine. That must count, right?
  19. I just looked this up. I live in Maryland, where the Gov/Lt. Gov is elected as a team. In Virginia (where I'm bombarded with election ads right now - ugh), they are elected in separate races. It seems that only 26 states elect as a team. The rest are scattershot. It's...weird. https://nlga.us/research/methods-of-election/

I said this to Mr. ebk a while ago. How could he say the stuff he said over the weekend - it was a long time ago and I don't remember sending that email - when he must have known the whole thing would blow up. Ugh. Meanwhile - yay Ravens!!!

The investigation was into the horrible front office practices of the Taters and since a lot of the emails were with Bruce Allen, this is just a nice bonus to the more awful things they've found out about the team. Hopefully, Little Napoleon Snyder will somehow be forced to sell. I know, but a girl can dream...

Well, that was a fun game.
  23. Was there a cold open? I woke up in the middle of the credits and I want to know if I have to go back and watch or if I can just delete this immediately.
  24. Maybe someday, this will be available on my TV. That would be fab.
  25. Okay, so I posted the about video of Foggy Mountain Breakdown without actually watching it. Because - Steve and Earl and FMB! And I just watched it, and it's good. But... it's not the performance I thought it was. So, here's my actual favorite Letterman show performance ever. I went out and bought the album after. It's really good. I hope you all enjoy this. And I promise not to hijack this thread with Letterman musical performances again.
