Can I just mention how hilarious I think it is that NBC was using "Old Man" to advertise tonight's game? Because I think it's hilarious.

Os will be over .500 this season - yay! So much different than I thought this year would be.

S48.E01: Miles Teller / Kendrick Lamar
ebk57 replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Saturday Night Live
Cold open was fabulous. The monologue was also wonderful - Miles Teller really does look like Peyton Manning AND Rachel Maddow!! And WU was great. The rest - eh. Wasn't really feeling most of it. But, that makes it all very familiar... and it's good to see (read) everyone again!! -

That was hilarious. I sure hope they can keep it up. -
Hope you enjoyed the party because the game sucked. 😉

Late Show With David Letterman - General Discussion

Dave is on Jimmy Kimmel right now. Harry is in college. How does that happen???? I'm so...old... -
I'm heading to NY for a short trip tomorrow and thought since Phantom has Thursday matinees (and there are discounts!), maybe I'd go. Then I realized that I'd managed to see it only once (in London, about a week after it opened back in the Stone Age) and if I'd wanted to see it again, I certainly could have. But I didn't. So I won't. (And it's Norm Lewis, not MacDonald. Although Norm MacDonald would have been an interesting casting choice...)

I'm sure there a few more "fucks" thrown around. (I actually had to google that game since I had no memory whatsoever of that night... honestly, why would I? 😄 )
-
Last game for us today. Until postseason, that is. Hahahahahahahahaha
-
So, how about those Terps?? (I have to say this now, before it gets out of hand...which I'm sure it will)
-
I gotta say there have been some really exciting endings to games today - not always the right ending, but exciting nonetheless.
-
But that's not gonna stop me from trying! 😄 I'm unreasonably upset about this game and I don't know why because I vowed not to be unreasonable upset about football this year.
-
Thank you for watching and reporting so I didn't have to. (Also, since the game didn't exactly go my way, I'm doubly glad I didn't bother)

And the Emmys keep up the horrible tradition of focusing on the person singing the song and not the folks they are paying tribute to. I have a 55 inch TV and if I don't get up and stand right in front of it, I can't read any of the names on the screen... so frustrating. -

Does the venue look really dark to anyone else/ It's really hard to see people - although it might just be my old eyes. -
LSSC: Season Eight Episode Talk

I don't know if you know about this, but he did a semi-staged "Company" a while ago that I thought was wonderful. -
I hate night life. I didn't dislike Cincinnati, I just didn't find anything compelling there, tourist-wise or food-wise. I wouldn't object to ever visiting again, and maybe checking out the Underground Railroad Freedom Center (which I either didn't realize was there, or it wasn't open when we were there), but I wouldn't make a point of going back. We travel to visit ballparks (been to all of them that were open when we started, and just need to go back to 4 cities for new ones), and we saw both Cincinnati stadiums, so not sure it will be a future destination. I'm truly sorry if I offended you (and anyone else). Like I said, I don't dislike the city.
-
The ballpark in Pittsburgh is worth the trip - go see a game, any game! And Pittsburgh is fun!! Cincinnati, OTOH... the stadium is fine, but I'm not sure why Cincinnati exists. (Nothing personal to anyone from Cincinnati).
-
If anyone is interested, MTV's YouTube channel is live-streaming the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert from Wembley.
-
Okay - I don't know who Timmy Trumpet is (really??) and I've never paid attention to Diaz's walkout song (if I've ever actually watched a Mets game this year), but I do understand how fabulous this is and I almost wish I was there! Almost...

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
ebk57 replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
The hospital where my sister was being treated for cancer had a deal with Lyft to transport people to and from appointments. Not sure if that would hold true for procedures where you need a relative or friend, but for regular stuff, if was great. Maybe the hospital (or doctor's office) would know about this for anyone who needs transportation. -

I, um, drive myself home after those appointments (which I have twice a year). So far, no problems. -
Honestly, the only good thing about that stadium is the beer selection. And let's face it, the team sucks. At least when the Os suck (most of the time-I know they're going to try to get more money from me next year), the stadium is a pleasant place to spend some time. So we have that going for us.
