Anyone around tonight? I just poured some wine and have been following along in the NYT on the 1st hour's awards.

This is a much nicer story about the team than the other story I read today... Although I suppose this one could work out well if it results in a new owner. https://www.thebaltimorebanner.com/lawsuit-alleges-son-of-peter-angelos-sought-to-wrest-control-of-orioles-from-brother

Every time I think I can't love Jon more, I'm proven wrong. I love Jon. -

Muppet Show cold open - brilliant! -
How I Learned to Drive and Anyone Can Whistle. I think I read your thoughts on Girl and the other shows I'm not really interested in. Not that that should stop you from sharing. I love reading your reviews.

In Memoriam: Entertainment Industry Celebrity Deaths

"We May Never Pass This Way Again" was our high school senior prom theme (or maybe it was our graduation them - one of those...it was a loooong time ago). RIP and thanks for the (vague) memories. -

And...he's back! Yay!!!!! -
I thought this was really well done. I was especially impressed with the causes that Julia endorsed and how she could look at a situation, assess it rationally, and change her point of view when it became obvious that her point of view needed changing. The cooking was pretty good, too.

I can't really argue with much of that list. Although I don't think Angels stadium should be that low - I'd definitely put it ahead of Cincinnati and a few others. I haven't been to the new parks in San Diego or St Louis and I won't be going to Atlanta (unless I get in for free). I'd like to go back to Kansas City since, even though it' the same building, it's allegedly been totally renovated inside since 1998. I do love PNC Park.

I wasn't listening closely (it was on CNBC after all, and who really listens closely...), but there was a reporter at the Walmart annual meeting thing and she said Jon was performing there. So yeah, it's Walmart and all, but that means he's okay! Yay!! -
My team is on AppleTV tonight. I'm trying to decide whether to sign in (I don't own a single Apple produce, but I did have an iTunes account and the website says that should work). I'll probably get the 4 free months from Target so I can watch Ted Lasso and Smigadoon. Probably.

I just watched the Mike Myers episode. And I have to give a major shout-out to the untuckit parody commercial. I haaaaaaate those commercials so much (because the product is so stupid!!!) and Stephen captured it so perfectly. -

Patti LuPone is a national treasure. As is Stephen Sondheim. -
S47.E21: Natasha Lyonne / Japanese Breakfast

I pretty much agree with this, although I thought Lounge and 9-5 were just okay. Overall, a strong finale and nice send-off to Kate and Aidy (and Kyle and Pete). I also enjoyed Japanese Breakfast. I've heard her a few times interviewed on NPR, but this is the first time I've seen her perform. And, as always, thanks @Galileo908for your amazing recaps every week! Have a great summer everyone!! -

Vote. Because stupid people vote, too. Funny...and scary and true... -
If anyone in the greater Baltimore-DC area wants to go to the Os game Sunday afternoon, I have 4 tickets and great parking. Let me know and they're yours for the low, low price of nothing! Because what better way is there to spend a hot Sunday afternoon?? (I'm not selling that very well, am I...)
-
I can't believe you're begrudging me one afternoon of happiness! 😄 I was listening at work on the XM app, which is at least an entire half inning behind real life. And my phone alerts went off...but I didn't look. Just so I could enjoy the end! And I did!!

The ballpark is okay. I didn't go to the zoo. And (nothing personal, anyone from Cincinnati) I'm not sure why the city is there at all. There's really nothing going on, including nightlife. I've been there twice (for 2 ballparks - the new one is definitely better, but still just okay) and I'm not sure why the city exists.
-
We're only staying for the first game. Oh, you weren't talking about my team... 😄 Also, Happy Mother's Day to all who celebrate!
-
I'd love "is potato"! Unfortunately, it's the one underneath.
-
A pretzel. I hate pretzels. Although I suppose it's better than the toilet paper... (sorry @ABay) I was hoping for the booze... I'll keep trying.
-
If I ate crab, I'd probably agree with this - I've heard it's very good. Honestly, they are correct about most of the food being pretty damn good - inside and outside the stadium. Then there's the team...

CNN+ - we hardly knew ya! https://www.nytimes.com/2022/04/21/business/cnn-plus-shutting-down.html That was quick.

This was the one I thought was so dumb that I couldn't stop laughing.
