  1. ^exactly this So I'm still a Dany fan, always have been, always will be. I do feel the writers could have done a better job with her storyline, but like others have said, the signs were always there. The one thing I'm kicking myself about is the fact the SIGN was always there that only 1 dragon was going to actually make it to Kings Landing. Bran first saw the vision in Season 3 and again in what, season 6? To see that scene play out yesterday was very cool and come to the realization that it wasn't snow in the house of the undying scene but ash. The T's are known for Fire and Blood....I'm fine with them showing that and thought it was really cool...that scene of her on Drogon surveilling the area and doing the star down at the Red Keep, she looked like a true Targaryan and that moment, from the outfit to the dragon she was on causing chaos and fear, and I loved it. I just think that part of herself was.....dormant before, but due to the progression of the character, the loses she endured, the "dragon" came out finally. I also find it interesting no one is talking much about Grey Worm, he went full on "bad" too, yet few are talking about that. I suppose people think for him his rage is justified eh? And the Dothraki are just wild people right? I personally don't think Jon Snow will sit on the Iron Throne, I don't think anyone will. This is my 100% spoiler free prediction because I refuse to be spoiled but, I think with Dany pretty much ending slavery in Essos, I think once she is killed (because it is obvious that is happening) and Jon Snow dies (yes i believe that is happening too) no one will rule because 1. KL is pretty much burned to the ground and 2. I think since the North wants to be independent more kingdoms will want to be as well and there will be an agreement that Westeros will no longer be under 1 ruler anymore. All of the lands will be "free" so to speak. The only thing I'm not sure of is what will happen to Drogon, one would think he would just go back to Valeryia and live out his days there. If he even makes it.

    Us (2019)

Yeah, it already has a 100% on RT with like, 55 reviews I think?
  3. Haha...yes! 😄 That guy is way better looking than the one playing Aladdin! 😐 So I thought this looked...decent....probably will not be the best Disney live action, but I am giving it a shot....it will be worth it as long as they can do the magic carpet scene done right 😊 I actually liked the scenes I saw of Will Smith 🤷‍♀️
  4. I thought this was a nice wrap up, sad, but good final ending scene. I have never read the books but I am assuming the ending is similar???? I hear they are quite good, I'm sure they will be on my "to do" read list someday LOL Toothless's babies though...OMG the cuteness!!!!!!!
  5. I think it is a combo of the marketing, and releasing this Valentine's day instead of Halloween like they did the first time. Obviously it was a mistake. I liked the movie a lot, still think the first one was the better movie, but for a sequel it was pretty good, and at least it explains the why behind the plot. I think had they put more horror in maybe it would have done better, but maybe not? I've always like the horror/comedy of this series-I think it's why it was such a huge hit. I wonder if that might have some kind of factor to do with why the box office for this was has been so "meh", but I think it's mainly because it's obvious this time around you're getting a comedy instead of a horror movie. Yeah, I don't think most people know anything about his twitter feed (which I refuse to do twitter to keep sane so I don't know what it says but I've heard about it) but here's a question, is his feed keeping him from getting work? I was the under the impression it wasn't, because he is a C level actor anyway right? Be nice if they wrapped this up with a 3rd movie but I am not holding my breath 😄
  6. this movie was cute and was well done, even though i am not the biggest jennifer aniston fan i really liked her in this
  7. well this finally got more of a wider release so i saw it today (not very many people in our theater so i think it will be gone by next week but i hope not) I liked it a lot, but i still liked Moonlight better good acting all around by everybody and the score, so good I wish it would win more awards :(
  8. Seeing this movie makes me want to read the book now I thought this movie had the potential to be great-i thought it was pretty decent, i think the problem was that the director has stated herself she can't really do horror problem number 1 i thought problem number 2-making a love interest out of the Tom character (i hear in the book he dies when the rest of them do during the Gary massacre) but i get why they wanted her to have a love interest, and i liked them as a couple, i just think they way they did the flirting in the beginning was a little off i also think it was a little unrealistic with having them have Tom survive he just allowed Malorie to keep calling the kids "boy and "girl" LOL it's one thing when you are by yourself, but with a partner? really? i was okay with them not showing the creatures as well and until i saw on the internet that they were in fact supposed to be creatures i took them to be an entity....not something with a physical form by the way they portrayed it in the movie
  9. he seems to be on track-he won 2 critic choice awards for the role!

    Roma (2018)

I watched this on Netflix....it was good, but i didn't think it was GREAT....i saw on youtube some people think you need to see it more than once to really get into it i liked how he showed what was going on with the revolution, the direction of the film is really, really good....i'm just not sure about a best picture win but it's nice to see a foreign language film finally be a contender in the awards circuit

    Aquaman (2018)

I didn't have high expectations going into this because my one friend HATED this, but I quite enjoyed it. I rank this second to Wonder Woman for the DCEU...I mean, Batman vs. Superman was crap and Justice League was very below average....but this was very entertaining and I only thought somewhat ridiculous after he got the master trident LOL The CGI was pretty good I thought and Jason Momoa makes a good aquaman...I could even stomach Amber Heard and I usually can't. Bring on the sequel!
  12. I finally saw this....wow....soo good....not a movie I care to see again but I think this is a movie everyone should see I thought Topher Grace did okay...I never was very impressed with his acting, I thought he was always very one note...I remember hearing when this movie came out that he really had a hard time with this role and saying those lines I think this movie really showed Adam Driver and John David Washington's acting chops...hence their nominations
  13. I never did think they were....and I never said skin color beyond pale I wouldn't accept....you totally missed my points completely I try to see Broadway shows as much as I can, they've become quite expensive so I don't see as many as I'd like, and there's way more diversity now on roles that are cast that traditionally had been white roles, I have no problem with that and like to see it. But Mary Queen of Scots at times became almost a non period piece...from the way the handled the Daniel stuff to the casting of the POC in high ranking roles...but I guess if they were going to do that, better to do that than just place POC in the background (which happened to) But I didn't like this movie any less because of it, it didn't change my opinion on my enjoyment of it, I think at times I enjoyed this more than the Favourite but the Favourite is the movie that will crush it in awards (at least I hope so)
  14. I saw this today, I really enjoyed it, I think it might be the best one of award contenders I've seen so far (i.e. the Favourite, Green Book, Roma, A Star is Born)....I don't think I've ever seen an Adam McKay film but now I want to see others....I personally think C.Bale should get oscar gold for this, but I'm not holding my breath....while I don't think this was Amy Adam's best role I thought she was pretty solid. I don't think there was anything I didn't like about this movie....from the fake ending to the way they used the narrator to the dinner scene with Alfred Molina Did anyone notice that was Noami Watts playing the Fox News Anchor? LOL
  15. Right, that's what bothered me about it, and I still really enjoyed this movie a whole lot-I just think it was a disservice to do what they did with the casting, I think some would not take the movie seriously after seeing those casting choices. And as far as the conversation about casting more diversity, it needs to be done, but I know it the whole Inclusion Rider thing is supposed to be about hiring minorities to work behind the scenes too, if that was done on Mary Queen of Scots I'll give credit where credit is due. The Two Queens would have been a good title, but since the story is supposed to be about Mary and a certain book, I guess they felt they had to go with that title? I think Ronan was very good, I just give the slight edge over to Robbie, maybe it's because she had better material, or maybe she just did better overall who knows. For me it is like how I gave the edge in the Favourite for Rachel Weisz over Emma Stone, but both were excellent.

    Us (2019)

    looks great-can't wait for it
  17. I saw this on opening night, my theater was only half filled, so to hear this came in second to aquaman was not surprising I enjoyed it, didn't think a sequel was necessary but since the House of Mouse is all about making money now (and I'm a huge Disney fan) I thought visually it was very, very good....that animation scene i loved since they don't do traditional animation anymore....and those outfits in that scene were great! and the dance sequence with the lamp posts, at first I thought they were fake....when they started moving, i was like, wow but-the music...was very, very, very underwhelming....it doesn't hold a candle to the original and i know the original is a tall order, but i thought at least 1 song would be great...nope no wonder it's hardly getting any best original song nominations and "Shallow" will sweep I was also kinda disappointed in Lin Manuel Miranda, but Blunt was excellent as Poppins and really held her own
  18. An Asian woman as Queen Elizabeth's main handmaid, and one of Elizabeth's main men on the court who was the person going back/forth between England and Scotland was black, and one of Mary's handmaid's appeared of mixed race, and a lot of the people in court and just in shots of the crowd in Scotland were black. Again, I just found that very unrealistic.
  19. uh no, they are not-the first one i think was the best one of the Bay ones, but some don't even agree with that! I really liked this, it was back to basics, limited robots and limited fight scenes. Bumblebee is the best, and this movie reminds you why, and least you see how he lost his voice. I liked the Charlie character and her storyline and I hope they continue on with this format if they do more movies.
  20. I saw this last week, I thought this movie was excellent, one of the best of the year. Between Weisz and Stone I have to say I liked Weisz better, but both was so, so good. This was the performance Stone should have won an oscar for instead of La La Land! Another person who I thought was really good but who none of the critics are talking about is Nicholas Hoult...I loved his character...I thought he had some of the best scenes/lines. I do think perhaps creativity wise the Lobster was maybe slightly better, but Lanthimos wrote that and didn't write this, but I liked the humor of this much better. I hope this wins some awards!
  21. I saw this today, I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would given the mixed reviews, but I think the thing that bothered me the most was the fact the casting choices made it look like England and Scotland were diverse places in the 16the century *rolls eyes* Don't get me wrong, I think there should be way more diversity on film but in period pieces? Yes-I agree with this, I just figured the Father and Son just went without permission. What I took away from the movie was that Mary really felt like she was the true heir to the throne of Scotland AND England. I think she was stubborn, and didn't get good council like Elizabeth did. I think she really did think she could co rule I guess with Elizabeth (if that is even historically accurate, I'm going to guess not LOL), and I think overall she just didn't have any guidance because no one was looking out for her interests, unlike Elizabeth who had that one guy (the Guy Pearce character). If I were Elizabeth though, no way I would have named her and Darnley true heirs, I would have thought they would have conspired to kill me. I really found Elizabeth's character in the movie more fascinating....she had that relationship with Dudley, could have married him and choose not to. She tried to pass him off to Mary, but then when she accepted the offer in that letter back she got all ticked off about it and goes running to Dudley crying in his arms. I think her words to Mary in the end about how she is more of a man than a woman pretty much summed up why she made her choices. What I think they should have explained more was why Elizabeth chose to kill her in the end, after holding her prisoner for what, 20 years? I thought Margot Robbie did a better job than, S. Ronan but both ladies were very, very good. But overall I enjoyed this-I also saw the Favourite and between the two period pieces, the Favourite wins hands down, but this was still pretty decent, if you can get past some things.
  22. I was very underwhelmed....I really liked Steve C and while I’m a huge TC fan I wasn’t that impressed by his performance....I thought it didn’t have a lot of range....but, I blame the director for that....I think if anything it shows how talented TC is that he took what he was given and was able to give a performance most think he’ll be nominated for. I didn’ t hate the movie, but I didn’t like it either, I think it told a very realistic story of addiction but it just lacked something...I can’t explain what....
  23. Well as someone who didn’t know much on the subject matter, I quite enjoyed this. I think Chazelle is a pretty good director and this movie proved he’s got the range with consistency. I loved Ryan G. in this, I actually cried during “the scene” on the moon and I hardly ever cry during movies...no tears were shed during a Star is born or beautiful boy....yet I cried for this lol... just like with all movies based on real people I’m sure it had its inaccuracies...but I thought this movie was really solid and had good performances but I gotta say I thought Claire foy was just ok....but critics are talking Oscar????
  24. When I walked out of my theater, I heard a very loud "what the hell was that!" to someone saying, "I need more of an explanation" to a person replying, "what's to explain, that was a sh-t movie!" LOL I knew going into the movie it had a low audience review score but a high critic review score and it was discount day at my local theater I didn't mind it, didn't love it, but didn't dislike it, I liked how it was pretty scary in a very creepy way (which lately i've been finding to be the scariest movies) and while the audiences might not be feeling this movie i thought this movie was way better than mother! the good: the acting-very good acting by everyone i thought, the music-very suspenseful, and the creepiness of the feel of the movie the bad: not explaining enough about Paimon/Charlie (though upon further reflection a lot of signs were there), the cheese factor of Annie's possession from Paimon and the whole levitating and the naked cult members While I didn't mind it that it ended up being satanists, they were just too creepy-naked and all! but I guess that's what the movie was going for, and I did catch that the teacher was in the group, but I didn't catch that one of the funeral attendees was one as well Oh and is it just me, or was that decapitated head looking a little too good there at the end? Shouldn't it have been more decomposed *rolls eyes* thought it was a pretty gross site, what was with the bird cage? And I agree it was a lot like Rosemary's Baby plus the Exorcist I thought
  25. Ok so I’ve read how darth maul lived (and I think I do remember hearing he was in the animated series) but if obi wan killed him in rebels that means this movie takes places before episode 3? Here’s another question- I thought the sith only went with 2, meaning the emperor only had one apprentice and count dooku replaced darth maul and anakin replacing dooku.....where would maul fit back in? besides this confusion at the end, I liked the movie but not as much as other sw movies, I just thought the overall story was so so but I was actually very impressed by the guy who played solo-maybe those acting lessons payed off ? while he looks nothing like Harrison Ford, I think he captured the character of solo well, unlike Glover who looked more Lando but like others said, seemed to be trying too hard would have liked to have known what the original story was supposed to be, because this one was not that great
