  1. I don't know if its worth getting this caught up in the weeds, I don't know North Carolina outside of the known major cities, but I just assumed Barkley Cove wasn't even a real place 😆 All I know is I'd guess the area of the OBX looked quite different in the 1960's then it does now when it wasn't even a beach front then.....
  2. I enjoyed the dog, but i agree it is kinda ridiculous that people value animals and CGI animals at that over human life, I couldn't believe when I read in another forum on here that people checked out of the first episode of a show because a CGI RAVEN died after the first 20 minutes! I think this is a strong #2 to the first movie, nothing will beat the first predator movie in my opinion, but I remember not really caring for Predator 2 all that much but I saw it so long again maybe I need a re-watch.....all those other movies i never cared to check out really liked the brother, hope to see him in other work-and was this dubbed over in English? i was so confused about that, didn't seem like it? did they dub it over in comanche?
  3. Right I get it, but I looked it up in my book again and it IS greenville for the publishers and asheville for the hotel trip and the movie keeps this in there, i know people love to rag on this novel/book but it was accurate 😄
  4. Thank you. That is so much more reasonable. Actually that is not completely accurate-Greenville is where she went to meet the publishers, Asheville is where and she and Chase went on the overnight stay-
  5. I watched the entire series in 3 days, didn’t even hear of this show until this weekend, my thoughts: it was nice to have a show not focus on action and focus on dialogue and adult content and issues for once CGI a little iffy at times, at times really good (example the scenes of the landscape of Hell -good vs the fiddlers green transformation -awful ) Some of the acting from the secondary characters was terrible (example Lyta, Barbie and Ken) I agree with those that said we needed more Desire and Death scenes as for Dream, I’ll admit it took me a while to get used to the character, the first episode didn’t hook me but I wanted to keep going, but I’m just not getting all this hate for the character I’ve read in the threads, sure the actor sounds like cillian Murphy with the look of the Crow movie, but I’ve seen some pictures from the graphic novel and I think they did a decent adaptation of the character- complicated and layered characters don’t seem to be popular anymore and I guess with so much tv content people can just check out if they get upset a CGI creature they saw for two minutes dies and upsets them-I know nothing about this fandom but I thought they “humanized” Dream too much at the end but maybe this is the path of the comic-but I’m liking what I saw of him so far a lot, takes his responsibilities seriously, sends the one he loves to hell, kills without hesitation, and will be coming for lytas baby? Good character development-not one note like all the other shows we watch 🤣
  6. I think what made that scene so powerful is because it shows some of it from Jupe’s eye level- it was like physically being there - I also thought I know he lives through the attack it didn’t mean he still couldn’t have been hurt - and I really didn’t want to have to see or hear that after what we just saw/didn’t see I also think the sound had a lot to do with it too which the sound overall was very good in this movie as well. In my theater during that scene you could hear a pin drop I don’t think anyone moved.
  7. I think that video above should have been a mid credit scene…. might have helped some of those who didn’t feel the Gordy storyline was important or make sense give more meaning. i personally felt the Gordy incident was the scariest thing about this movie and what makes Peele brilliant at film making … a really good cinematic scene Unfortunately I don’t think Nope landed at the end as good as Get Out and I still look at Get Out as his best movie, but I liked this better than Us. I get why some might not have liked this, but for someone who is doing his own writing and directing, I think his work his pretty fantastic.
  8. Now it’s been a minute since I’ve read the book but I do believe but what the movie audience sees is pretty much how the book ends- it never truly explains it also (book spoiler) But I quite liked it-thought they did a good job translating it to the big screen
  9. I'm with others that felt the ending was rushed. My opinion is that the series started off really strong, but then lost its momentum about half way through after Theranos really took off. I too wanted to see the Walgreens fallout (we never saw those guys again after they told her to get the machines in the wellness centers) and I wanted to see overall downfall of the company, we got none of that. I wanted to see the reaction of the weirdo doc from Walgreens when he figured out he was wrong, or the CEO guy who should have listened to the more boring one who tried to warn them. As for EH's current hubby, they say he's just as delusional as EH can be, I remember hearing on the 20/20 podcast how one cannot tell him, "no" So they sound like two peas in a pod to me- I'm hoping EH gets 7-10 years, best case scenario she gets 15 but we can only hope for that, but hey, maybe she will, here's hoping! I think someone had commented about Theranos' lawyers, David B quit the board, a guy like that would jump ship before the you know what hits the fan! But again, we didn't see any of that play out. I will say, I don't know if Walgreens or CVS ever plan to bring back the wellness center's, but if they do, count me out, I learned from listening to the podcast, wellness center do not require FDA approval....after this fiasco....I will never set foot in a pharmacy wellness center And as a government worker, I will say....I can totally relate to that guy from the department of Medicaid... where I work we cannot accept food from outside entities, and I was thinking, "I'm sure he is like, I get paid by the hour so take as long as you like, I will keep busy with my snacks and work here" But I'm wondering why no one thought to contact CMS before????? Theranos could have been shut down a lot sooner....you can't argue with facts (that's we say at my place)
  10. Anything is possible with this show, but I don't think she will...because....Mother/Father were reprogrammed by Campion Sturgess, a human....I think their creator did something to their programming to mimic human emotions, I know people will probably look at Grandmother as "evil" and while I don't think her character is "good" I think the point of her character at this point to me is to show that Grandmother/Mother have the same goals, they just have different philosophies on how to achieve those goals. Grandmother is more like the Trust, thinks with logic, Mother rules with emotion, as does Father. I had my initial suspicions about Grandmother for this reason: she was found in pieces in the so called, "safe zone" of the planet It looks like the damage had already been done in terms of her devolving humans, but I have a feeling something or someone managed to blow her up, then took off or died---I'd like to know who put that electro magnetic field up to keep "the entity" out. As for "Sol", some people theorized on the net, that there are two voices, I actually don't think they are, I think there's just the one-but I don't think the entity is Sol, i actually think Grandmother is "Sol" she glows like a halo, is the color of the sun, etc. Someone theorized that the Mithraic on Earth who ended up worshiping Sol is really the religion of the Technocrats/non-believers...I could see that, if Campion Sturgess was able to accurately translate the scriptures, it would explain why he flipped on the Mithraics.... But what was most disturbing to me, that I don't see a lot of chatter about, is the ancient "believers" I guess they worshiped the entity but the entity doesn't seem to like humans very much, but seeing what the elected to do to themselves with the tree/seed, maybe they were trying to not be human anymore? I'm glad they explained/showed what actually happened to Sue, which I think most figured that's what happened to her, but to see it, even in computer form was still pretty disturbing and to see that those ancient people CHOSE to do that to themselves....whereas Sue was tricked by the entity.... Also a tragedy...number 7....another victim of the entity....but, maybe just maybe he will be back, after all, Mother said machine's don't die they "break down" but if he's not back and really is dead...that was a waste....I really don't think he was going to kill Campion As for Marcus, I think the helmet did something to him ala Tree/Seed, maybe he'll birth a snake next season 😂
  11. I know they are setting up this showdown between Mother and serpent next week, but let's face it, the serpent will live into season 3 and it appears from next week's previews... When Sue's voice started coming over that transmitter, I actually thought for a moment that perhaps Grandmother could bring her back somehow, but that was quickly squashed lol Grandmother finally answers some questions...so the ancient "atheists" built the androids and were at war with the "believers"....doesn't sound much different from the present day, except that the the "believers" hold the technology now.....this explains why the Campion back on earth became an atheist after he translated the ancient scriptures I have a feeling next season (hopefully there is one) Mother will be more "android like" and less like Mother and more like the Trust if she is the veil wearer-unless the veil goes back to Grandmother
  12. this show keeps getting weirder and weirder, but I keep loving it it's not everyday you see someone transform into a tree i don't know what to think of what i was watching with Tempest's baby, did the creature want to steal the baby? or protect the baby from Sol? is Grandmother created by Sol too? I have a feeling though, they are going to need her to help "heal" whoever ends up eating that fruit, which looks to be quite a few people and she has no weapon system so, she seems to be opposite of the tree RIP sue....it's too bad she met her final demise after becoming a believer.....is it bad that i would feel no remorse if Paul devolves????

    CODA (2021)

Yes, but you also have to request it in given timeframes per the ADA, and given these parents, I think we could all see that not happening --- the main character summed it up when she said, "i'm tired of being your free interpreter" i think the parents knew what channels they had to go through to get an interpreter, but I think the point of the movie was, they were so used to Ruby being their interpreter they just assumed she would be doing it for them for the rest of their lives (and i'm sure in some families this does happen) I really loved this movie, was not a masterpiece, but considering we have such few movies about deaf culture, this was a pretty accurate portrait of a CODA --- loved her audition scene at the end where she sang/signed for them, very powerful as for the parents, i just looked at them as uneducated....to me they were no worse than hearing parents portrayed in any movie where the character is supposed to be embarrassing, i thought the dad was awesome -glad to see him winning awards
  14. I was kind of wondering this myself LOL
  15. Is the reunion March 4? I was 3 for 5 so I'm pleased with that, was wrong about Shayne/Natalie and Jarrette/Lyanna It sounds like Natalie would have said yes, up until the night before....but i think that fight was a blessing in disguise....no one says they hate the person they are about to marry yet call them their best friend I think what might have happened with Jarette/Lyanna, is that Jerbear was a little unsure after the whole Mallory fiasco, but as the weeks went by, I think his bond with her grew, however, I think she saw more of his bachelor lifestyle and started having doubts, but took that leap of faith, I think they have a good chance of lasting Danielle/Nick is the couple I have no clue on.......
  16. you are not in the minority, i 100% agree with all of this, though I think Sebastian Stan is decent looking, though I'm not really feeling him in this role
  17. I knew Vrille would be back (androids never die!) but I was not expecting that murder spree I thought she'd go looking for Campion How is Holly still calling Marcus the prophet? Dude went down in the tunnel and just happened to avoid being murdered...hardly makes him a prophet 😖 So "Sol" saved Paul--that vision with the slugs was horrific....slugs are so creepy....I really thought Paul was a goner or would become a snake like they said It looks like the humans didn't "devolve" it looks more to me like the artifacts on the ARC are bio-weapons and the reaction to the "humans" or human like creations on the planet turn them into those devolved creatures But those dead bodies look an awful lot like the aliens from Prometheus only in smaller form LOL (nice move Ridley) And what did the new android do to Tempest's baby??? Turn it into an android?
  18. A&E And for those who do not watch, it is "alleged" in the documentary that Hef chose the playmate of the year though he said it wasn't his choice alone....and the people being interviewed in the documentary say that in order to be chosen as playmate of the year required the woman to go to the mansion to "meet" with Hef and go up to his room with him and his friends I'm sure you can all fill in the blanks.....
  19. Haha-like i said, if they did get married i won't be surprised---he just seemed to be too vocal about the things that bothered him about her, but maybe that's how he is...Shayne for all his faults, does NOT do this, which is why I think he WILL marry I think the reason he will say no is because he doesn't want to disappoint his family and end up in divorce
  20. I'm kind of thinking Pamela didn't either, I think that's why she was never playmate of the year. Was Jenny McCarthy or Anna Nicole Smith ever playmate of the year? If they were not, I would say they didn't either 😑 I'm curious because I don't think the series has talked about this yet, what year did the playboy clubs shut down? the 80's? the 90's? Growing up I don't remember hearing much about them, I remember Playboy being just about the magazine (I remember my first boyfriend telling me, "their articles are good!") ahh the days.....
  21. I think you got them all covered...I mean, we have the TWO bobbi brown's plus all the other combo's of male and female bobb(y/i)'s 😂 I did a quick search on wikipedia and found quite a few sports players with the name though 😉 Back to Pam/Tommy, I am liking this show a lot. While I don't condone Rand's actions, I will say lesson of this story--don't be an A--hole I feel for her because she really got caught up in the toxicity of Tommy Lee And that deposition...no one should have to go through that To the comments of how "different" Pam looked in her first playboy cover to when she arrived on Baywatch, my comment, look at the Kardashians, sure, Pam looks different, but to me what the Kardashians have done to themselves is on a whole other level After watching the latest episode of Secrets of Playboy, we might have an idea of why Pamela didn't get playmate of the year 😑
  22. I'm just throwing stuff to the wall here and seeing what sticks with my predictions, if none of these end up coming true I will not be surprised, these predictions are 100% for fun- -Danielle/Nick: WILL get married, I think that is the editing throwing us off with his sweating like he is in a sauna....I mean, trust me I think it is a mistake, but I have a theory with this show that the first couple to get engaged in the pods is the most likely to get married, we had it with the one and only normal couple last season, but unfortunately Danielle is abnormal and not in a good way. I think Nick will go through with it, because he "believes" in them, but if they get married I don't think it will last long (unlike Amber/Barnett who surprised me). -Deepti/Shake: will NOT get married, I think most of us see where this is headed, he will "confess" what he has told everyone but her on the altar -Lyanna/Jarrett: will NOT get married, I think Jarrett will back out, or maybe her- -Mallory/Sal: will NOT get married, I think Mallory will decline, I think the fact her family is not supportive is a done deal -Shayne/Natalie: WILL get married, Shayne is so insecure, but Natalie is good at feeding into his ego, and the parents meeting each other went well so I think this could end up being a relationship that might surprise people like Amber/Barnett
  23. I wouldn't say wrong, but I think this shows that nothing is as it seems, that what one knows/learns "as gospel" is not what the reality is/was.... This show is very daring when it comes to religion vs. science, which is something I really like about it So, from what I am guessing, the new android is a necromancer or something like it? That humans originated here, worshiped this being as "Sol" but then something happened to destroy everything and the humans went to Earth? And now it is full circle..... I'm more confused what is going on with Paul, he is definitely cocooned in something and... So is the Trust coming back? Will Mother turn him on again? I can't imagine the Atheists are going to join Marcus.....
  24. Second choice can be the right choice, but like you just said....he sees Mallory, has apparently a long talk with her, and from what we saw, didn't appear to me someone happy with his second choice. Now it is not Lyanna's fault because she is probably now seeing what we are seeing, but I think from what they are showing us in the edit, Jerbear won't be able to get past some things about Lyanna and it will be "justification" of why he and Mallory hook up. Mallory mentioned something about being with people like Jerbear before, well, sometimes you can't help what you are attracted to, and I think this shows highlights love is NOT blind. As for Kyle, I wonder if the producers are making him stick around LOL I think those couples are the type that get along perfect and live happily ever after. Too boring for the show. I think they should show at least one....sometimes boring is nice....I have a feeling if this show continues the "couples" will continue to get trashier and trashier.
  25. I wonder if Marcus is somehow becoming an android —I mean how is it that technology didn’t kill him? and then his super strength? Yeah android I’m wondering if that android father is reviving is a necromancer -be cool if there were two but it better not take Fathers brain! If anything I wonder if Father can somehow transfer into the necromancer body If we have no mother with father I’m not watching this show!
