  1. I agree. He doesn't seem mentally disabled. Just...stupid. Really stupid. He could be high too, but there's definitely something off in general. His creepiness doesn't help. Looks like a perfect addition to the TMOG/TM2 family ;)
  2. Yep, my brother in law took months and he has Down syndrome...my husband is a visibly paralyzed person in a wheelchair and by the time he was "approved" he was out of grad school and had a much higher income and didn't need it anymore, so I think he never saw a check after tons of paperwork and red tape and doctor visits. Took a full school year. Terrifying to think what people do when they really have no income, both of them work full time and just needed part-time aides paid for. Not that Cate and Amber won't try, of course...A few people do seem to somehow get on it easily? Maybe it's dependent on your area and your local social security office? I especially hate how they act like they've done all this research. Oh, please, ladies, tell us about all the peer-reviewed studies you've read on the subject. Enlighten us.
  3. Right?! Amber, please don't speak for those of us with depression. It's like Nathan being a spokesperson for the military or Leah being a motivational speaker for parents of kids with disabilities. We don't need you, please and thanks!
  4. So was the pregnancy with her boyfriend? Or with a random from The Club? If the former, I would see it a little differently. Still careless but not Briana or Kail level careless.
  5. Oh my God. Oh, my God. This is incredible.
  6. You might be right, @MyPeopleAreNordic, re: Amber. Whatever that spark was, though, I think Matt might have killed the last of it...for which she has no one to blame but herself.
  7. Can Amber stop pretending she's a gangbanger or a trained assassin? She's from a working class suburb in Indiana and spent some time in a local women's prison, yet she acts like she was either a Marine, head of the Crips, or both. Every time she talks she brags about how violent she is. 1) why is that a positive? 2) you're not that scary, sweetie, you're basically a plant in human form.
  8. Ok, so... She texts him to compliment him and he responds by complimenting HIMSELF? And then she says you're just the sweetest? Note that he didn't say "you're worth it" or "that's because I love you and Nova" or "and you're a great wife" or any of the normal things a spouse would respond with. He literally just replies by going, "oh I know, I'm SOO great." (btw, what is with these people and "real men" and "real women?" Amber is a particular culprit. Wtf does that even mean?) I can see why these two are codependent. Her role is victim, his is hero-savior.
  9. I know, right?! Now that we know he pretty much NEVER stopped using, it wouldn't be a surprise.......how else can you afford this many drugs without a job besides a supporting "role" on TM? And apparently he's too stupid and/or entitled and/or high to be worried about getting caught. He's pretty much openly on Tinder.
  10. Probably both. She also just has a really limited view of the world. Girls do this, boys do this, this is what's fun for kids, this is what we eat...
  11. By Jove, I think you've got it! Or we could call Radar Online every day and tell them they're having a huge fight at the Easons'...thing is, we'd probably never be wrong!
  12. Yeah, I think most people don't realize that most folks actually consider their wheelchairs *liberating* or at least neutral. Not to say their disabilities themselves are, I'm sure they would prefer to walk/not have pain/etc., but the actual wheelchair isn't some sign of resignation and imprisonment, it's usually an antidote to a life of pain and not being able to get around in the world and participate fully in life. Someone in a writing group with me wrote an excellent piece about this after Stephen Hawking's death. https://www.wsj.com/articles/stephen-hawking-is-dead-not-free-1521584940?mod=e2tw Though, of course...I'm pretty sure Leah or Corey would have to read at all to learn about this stuff.................(p.s. do you think they've even heard of Stephen Hawking?)
  13. I know I've said this before but I'm so fucking sick of these people doing this. People who actually have those issues (I know not all!) regularly die of suicide, actually develop serious addictions, get abused in traumatic repetition cycles, etc. Like...come on. Same thing with the "infertility." People become suicidal over this stuff. Stop pretending to have life-threatening mental and physical problems.
  14. This, too, that's a very good point. and hey listen, none of us know these people and all our good AND bad assumptions could be wrong (k, except about Amber and Jenelle...)-- we all just wanna snark or praise in peace! nothing wrong with either.
  15. It's really odd! I know everybody says it, but at first I actually thought she was kind of cute because I thought she was an older woman (I know 40 or so isn't old, but I mean older than Ryan, and in their neck of the woods seems old to be getting married) who looked 36 or so. Like, a divorcee with a kid or two. Turns out I was right on the last part, just not the age...
  16. That's probably true. I do think it enters Corey's mind to some degree. He and Papa Jeff (that's his name, right?) have always had a bit of that "Jesus will send a miracle, let's prove them all wrong" mentality...Leah has always seemed to believe the doctors to an extent, but to be too lazy to implement the rules. Can't figure out which mentality is worse.
  17. Unfortunately a lot of people still see it that way. & Leah & Corey aren't exactly...shall we say, geniuses?
  18. I would assume it's very, very pushed on her by her family, both to push some weird sexist image of the popular cheerleader (still can't believe that's a thing anymore) and to 'prove' that she's able-bodied despite what doctors have said time and time and time again. I only mentioned the south because my family members in east Texas WORSHIP cheerleaders. It is #1 in their book and basically required. Obviously that's #notallsoutherners, but I never encountered anything akin to it on the East or West coasts or in the Midwest, either.
  19. I hope so, too. I've always thought he didn't seem to appreciate her enough. She is a gem. Maybe he does but is just more private about it. I certainly hope so.
  20. Yeah, and Chelsea isn't particularly amazing, but it's a weird show in that she's basically just a middle-class girl who had ONE bad boy in her life and otherwise her life has been pretty normal. Meanwhile, literally everybody else is a backwoods/trashy-as-hell child abuser with multiple arrests and/or convictions to their name, usually multiple addictions, multiple baby mamas/daddies, and long, storied histories of domestic violence and adultery. Chelsea is just sort of normal and on a show where everybody else was also normal, she'd get gossiped about for things like a messy house and baby talk and Pinterest addiction and two weddings. Still nothing serious at all. But on a show where everybody is trashy, she looks like an angel sent from heaven. It's extremely bizarre as a juxtaposition...they were all closer and Chelsea was more of a fuckup in the beginning with the GED saga and the Adammmmmmm drama. Jenelle was a beach girl from North Carolina with a bit of a party streak but no arrests yet, Kail was from a rough background but seemed to be going somewhere at the time (lol, how times have changed), and Leah was the resident uber-southern cheerleader from the holler. Now Chelsea just has an average middle-class life and it's really odd to talk about her in the same context, not necessarily because she's so incredible but because this show has basically turned into an abuse and neglect circus with a side of criminal charges. This show should pretty much be renamed "Heroin and Divorce, and also some girl from South Dakota living a normal life I guess?" I honestly bet nobody expected this. I can see why it gets weird fast.
  21. IDK...that's a lot of ass.
  22. I don't think any of this is personal. We're all just having fun in our own ways ;)
  23. I think we all just see that she is "better" than the rest and can't understand why she keeps exposing them. I don't think anyone is talking about the pictures, just the trashy show. There's no need to ask why Jenelle, for example, is exposing her children. Or Kail. Like...there's no need to have that convo, they're way too far gone. And usually someone in their camp is pregnant or arrested, so it's not as interesting. Whereas if I WASN'T getting a new baby daddy or put in jail every weekend, I'd be running far away from this show by now. It's more the contrast that baffles me. Also, just speaking for me--usually the thread takes a turn in response to people making a criticism of something about Chelsea, usually fairly trivial because her life is normal, and then others saying we "shouldn't judge her" because she's a good parent, etc. And then other people say back, "we can judge her because she's still on TV." And round and round it goes. We all play a part and everybody has a fair point, I think at least. A lot of the threads do have their recurrent themes and recurring mini-debates. Which isn't hard, because they all tend to do the same thing like 800 times in a row and never change.
