While You Were Out - General Discussion
theschnauzers replied to FormerMod-a1's topic in While You Were Out
The other thing is that Heidi totally shut off Ty, who is supposed to be the equal co-designer, and they had a carpenter on top of that. (Don’t forget the mother-daughter team from one of the HGTV shows were the o-designers of the other house. Ty ended up with only a day to get the second room done from scratch and barely pulled it off. His design was so much better than what Heidi had in mind. The crazy part is that Ty is a big Bulldogs fan being from that area originally. It’s too bad they weren’t able to get UGA’s paw print as originally planned. And as Ty pointed out, Heidi doesn’t know what compromise is, I bet the on-site producers had to step in and insist Heidi back down. -
Source? Otherwise that’s speculation. Fit people have been known to die suddenly at that age. For all we know, it could have been a massive fatal stroke, more severe than Luke Perry’s.

Roswell, New Mexico Spoilers and Speculation
theschnauzers replied to Chas411's topic in Roswell, New Mexico
If you didn’t know, Claudia was on The Originals with Nathan Parsons. Will be interesting to see what Mama Evans knows but hasn’t said! -
My thought is that with the rumored cast departures on The Flash, Ben Lewis could be put in that cast as William and how he develops his high tech expertise as implied in the flash forwards, as he lives in a Central City. I have really enjoyed Ben as adult William this season, and it would be a shame not to take advantage of the character’spresence in Central City.

That very storyline happened a few months ago in the German telenova “Sturm der Liebe,” and the two characters (Boris and Tobias) just got engaged on this past week’s episodes, and will be married soon. It’s that show’s first ever same sex love story, so in the telenova style they’re getting a happy ending. i’m not comparing this series to the original, any more than I compared RDM’s reimagined Battlestar Galactica to its original. And I’ve not read the novels. As this show’s creator is maintaining a stance of not following source material beyond the premise, that’s OK by me. I suspect the show is not blindly proceeding without a roadmap, and I suspect the whole season is a pilot/setup for future seasons. In any event I just want my Max fix (Nathan Dean Parsons is dreamy in his own right) and I want to see how Michael/Alex and Alex/Kyle develop.

Ethan Peck has his grandfather’s voice. No mistake about it.

If TPTB haven’t cancelled a show around the halfway point of a one-off run, they’re gonna let it run the course. Don’t forget many of these shows were developed under Moonves and the new regime is gonna burn off these shows now., while they can blame him for any bombs. CBS and the folks from WRP have been clear that May 22 is the date for TAR 31. Maybe by then with the fall upfronts that month, we’ll get some clarity about season 32. I don’t think it was any accident Probst asked online about having some two hour episodes. If both shows had some two hour episodes, then it solves a problem that will allow trading off that time slot over the course of a year, and both shows can have two cycles per calendar year.

The Man In The High Castle - General Discussion
theschnauzers replied to Aethera's topic in The Man In The High Castle
Amazon Prime has just dropped a trailer with a press release stating that season 4 will be the final season. The season is expected to be released in the fall. i’m not surprised as I figured that creatively I couldn’t see how the story could be stretched out much beyond a fourth season. -
Roswell, New Mexico Spoilers and Speculation
theschnauzers replied to Chas411's topic in Roswell, New Mexico
This episode brought a realization to me that Max, Michael, and Isabel are going to end up with a human support team by the end of this season who will know their truth, or at least that they are aliens and will make the fight against the military and the inevitable others more even. My guess is this will be Liz, Kyle and Alex at a minimum, at least for Max and Michael. Not sure where Isabel human connections other than possibly Noah even can fit in, if she has any. The Kyle Alex dynamic in this episode was quite interesting to say the least. So we now have all the characters in their late 20s (I assume) having gone to high school or even earlier together and a shared history of sorts. I suppose this next flashback episode is going to be very interesting to see how all of them fit into that dynamic. -
Roswell, New Mexico Scheduling: Earth Time
theschnauzers replied to shapeshifter's topic in Roswell, New Mexico
I think the CW generally runs reruns the week of a federal holiday. In this instance, Presidents Day is observed on Monday May 18th. -
Burn Gorman is probably best known for his role on Torchwood, so I think that’s a good addition.

The fact that Ivar disappears and flees Kattegat incognito is proof enough that the other side won. Most if not all of those killed in the last phase by Bjorn were Ivar’s best soldiers is also proof. Bjorn becomes King partially because of his deal with Herald, and because this time his other brothers and Lagatha agree he should be king. The face paint was more so each army would know who was in the other army and who was Ivar’s. Interesting in that it is a precursor to the similar use in Scotland by the Viking descendants a few hundred years later. i rewatched the episode last night, and I loved it even more the second time around.

I suspect this French speaking priest was originally from Quebec. Someone posted a google map type image showing on contemporary highways a route from Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina to Shadow Lake on or near the shore of Lake Huron in western New York, and the French speaking areas of Quebec are right across the Lake. And I seem to recall some mention of that name in one of the Lord John novellas set in that area (I could easily be wrong but it would take time to check that.)

Lagatha and Ubbe arrived with the sword and proclaimed Bjorn Ironsides as King of Kattagart, with the sword. I seem to recall that sword with Ubbe and Lagatha when they departed Wessex for Kattagart an episode or two back. The key I think is the Seer speaking to Bjorn about the future being set. What Bjorn saw was a vision or a fear of his future but in any event, Bjorn recalling his conversation with Ragnar on the mountain cliff discussing ruling and power was so fitting a conclusion to this season as Bjorn becomes the king I think Ragnar taught him and expected him to become. The future Ragnar wanted, with the lands in East Agelica and the eldest son he trained as king, is here. But can it be kept? That, I think, is where the next and final season goes.

Murtaugh’s mother’s family are Fitsgibbons. Makes sense to hide using that name. It was interesting that some season 5 plot lines were set up in this finale. Clearly the still living Murtagh is a combination of several characters in the books going forward, and the call for Jamie to set up a militia comes, IIRC, midway in Fiery Cross. And this episode gets us to 1771 as the time between the handfast and Roger’s arrival at River Run is close to a year. Episode itself was well done, cleared a lot of story points, and gave viewers some important points about the time travel aspects for a change.

We’re glad to take him! Diaz and Enos wanted either Hurts or Martell, and many of the players knew Martell, including two of his teammates from Bishop Gorman. And it sounds as if there were behind the scene issues that after Fields decided to transfer to OSU from UGA, triggered the transfer. Martell was very gracious to some fans and the local media who were at the airport, and he came across to me as being a mature adult. As to whether he would have to sit out a year, apparently those issues I mentioned plus the likelihood he will finished his undergrad degree by the end of the U’s two summer sessions, may just get a NCAA waiver. And give Manny Diaz a lot of credit for turning a lot of things around in just three weeks. As to Manny’s decision not to stay beyond his short presence at Temple, both the U’s AD Blake James and Diaz realized very quickly this had to happen then. 10 hours. And the U paid off Diaz’s Temple contract $4 million. And things have been that fast ever since. No one at the U is complaining.

S32: Spoilers (No Elimination Info)

The show calls those Switchbacks. Sometimes they use an original roadblock as a detour or Active Route Marker task, or vice versa, but Phil tells the viewer when it’s being done. -

Just my suspicion, but I think it likely we will see Yong Ian’s story with the native Americans next season. While the books tells it as flashbacks or via others, there’s enough there to make it coincide with the events elsewhere in the meantime. (After all, isn’t that what was done for the first half of season 3 with Jamie and Claire?)

There’s probably a story there somewhere about the Vikings who ultimately became the Scottish Highlanders, which would be my guess.
