I had watched season one when it originally aired on SYFY, along with Dark Matter and Killjoys. SYFY has a problem of some sort with material that originates from a source material, e,g., the Ronald D Moore BSG, and cancelling other series too soon Farscape being another example. I finally got caught up with all three season when Amazon Prime got control of those seasons, and I must have rewatched season two several times, and season three even more. Can’t wait for four to come out. Since The Expanse is scheduled for SDCC next month, I suspect we’ll learn about the scheduling then.

I have a suspicion that Bertram’s appearance as the greeter was a last minute substitution. I don’t think it would have been something that would have been planned. If it were, his director duties wouldn’t have been a problem. Elise Dognaigari, the other co-creator and an executive producer, is also an associate director in the credits. A(She was an assistant director in season 30.

1. The TAR teams were offended by the BB team alliance, and then then non-TAR team alliance, so they responded in kind. Given the circumstances of this season, it was understandable but at least they knew it would end of final three. 2. You didn’t need a photographic memory, for the taxi license task, you needed an audiographic memory (ability to remember everything you hear. (My mother did have the audiographic memory. When I was younger I clearly had a degree of both, so I knew the difference. -

And Detroit is located within Wayne County. -
Let’s be fair. Chaka and Mirna took advantage of their knowledge about booking flight ps and manipulating gate check in crew which means their skill was less that they appeared. And I’ll quote part of what I said in the other thread when this discussion first showed up.

outofbounds , what you relate was part of the global concern that existed at the time about how deep and widespread the radiation issue could become because the actual scope of the disaster had been concealed by Soviet authorities at the highest levels. This series brought home that fact with the sheer economic, scientific, medical, and political impacts, the end of the Soviet Union was inevitable. it’s not a surprise how concerned US authorities were and how the lack of information years later led to unnecessary risks. The only good thing about this mess was the changes made before the Fukujima tsunami, earthquake, and meltdown took place, and made the unmanageable a little less possible to compare to.

S31: Spoilers (With Elimination Info)
theschnauzers replied to ApprenticeFan's topic in The Amazing Race
Actually the final result of season 29 was completely spoiled by the Chicago Sun Times, which posted a bystander’s video showing the final three at the finish mat. The video I believe got taken down a few days later, but it was known where and who the final 3 were in finish order by then. My impression from the segments included on air was that Leo and Jamal arrived significantly more than a hour behind. Given it was July 4th weekend, the time perception is earlier than it was, so 7or 8 pm would be realist. You can see the clearly lengthening shows on the ground. Spoilers from that day including media reports had over an hour’s difference between Colin and Christie and Korey and Tyler when they each left Hart Plaza, and was clearly mid afternoon with very little shadow when Colin and Christie got to the Mat. Sightings during the season depended on teams finishes. Leo and Jamal didn’t do very well this season almost always near the back of the pack. Another visibility factor three new countries this time around and many legs on the outside of big areas. What was interesting was the boot order was eventually figured out. What was unusual was how much of this finale got figured out with filming on a holiday weekend in a city TAR had never visited before. -

Colin has rowed in all kinds of watercraft. He mentioned previously that growing up to the Padre Islands across from Corpus Christi, he and his friends would paddle in rafts go to one another’s houses by the time he was 12 or 13. He found a way to use Christie to balance the scull and figure out how to get the speed needed to finish in time. No one else figured this out. Could Colin and Christie complete the other side of the detour? Most likely. But they figured they could do this one faster. -

You’d have to add Eric to that list (and Jeremy in his first season) who to this day have the best average placement in a Race, ever. Eric and Jeremy had a best single double leg performance traveling from South America to Moscow to Munich without a rest period. Another great team in their season was Chip and Reichen, whose airport skills in their season rivaled Colin during Colin’s first season. one reason why I created an objective based average placement leg for each team for all seasons beginning with TAR 3 was to facilitate such discussion. While I’m in the process of updating for TAR 31 now that’s it’s over, I can say that Colin and Christie’s average placement in this season is even better than in TAR 5. And Korey and Tyler’s average this season was literally just a tad lower than in their first season. And all four averages are in n the top 20 all time for all the seasons combined, Meaning there’s objective support for the notion that this season was among the best. -
It’s also an indication how self aware they were as their original season aired.
-
Phil does his work live when filmed, Voiceovers may need scripting but his Mat interviews with teams are live when filmed with no scripted questions. He gets texts from production while the leg.is being filmed, but he otherwise has no idea what as going on that leg.

I’m pretty sure they’re on the STARZ app as well.

There were 12 total Roadblocks this season, which is the usual, and there were 2 RB on the first leg. They didn’t have a RB on the 10th leg, leaving having 1RB for each of the final two legs. The 6 RB cap rule was in full effect this season, as the final teams had 6 RBs for each racer. So extremely unlike a RB was unaired. TAR hasn’t always has memory tasks on the final leg. Sometimes they’ve had two. Their presence is meant to be unpredictable. In the tasks as aired, there was a lot of memory involved. The taxi task, the roadblock repell and vault lock, and putting together the drums. I think a Race related final memory task might have been overkill. -

The editors are known to compress time separations to create viewer suspense, but you will note they edited Korey/Tyler, and Leo/Jamal’s arrivals differently so as to conceal the actual time separation at the final Mat. CBS famously gave away that information for a promo for the season 10 finale where three final teams were shown arriving outdoors with different sun shadows at that final Mat. Looking at these episodes tonight, being aware of the spoilers, I could tell the editing was designed to conceal the time spread after the roadblock. -

That was a great article in EW. Colin posted his own comments on both his and Christie’s social media which gives more insight as well. As to spoilers, both the Free Press, and the Chicago Sun Times for season 29 managed to give enough to ID the final three and made the order of finish obvious. It’s not often the local news media does it on a finale, but other than hiding the entire final leg there’s not much to do about it. When mainstream media does spoilers from finale day and reports it, it’s not much you can do. oh, by the way, the existence of TAR 32 is not a spoiler. It’s already been filmed, and Phil, Elise and Bertram have confirmed this in their social media. In fact you can hear Phil in his podcast episode with season one winners Rob and Brennan releases with this season started in April. -

I think pink shirt was Elissa. Not a bad sport, nah? Anyhow, this was an amazing season with a legendary redemption arc for one of TAR’s legendary teams. Have to acknowledge that the Detroit Free Press got the spoilers almost 100 percent on the day the finale was filmed, except possibly for Leo/Jamal’s getting to Hart Plaza. But spoilers never tell the why of it, so this season was surprising right to the end. When I saw/read/heard that Colin and Christie were at the start line I saw this would be a redemption arc, and I expected them to win. But even I didn’t expect how emotional this season was going to be. And it’s hard to believe C&C’s skill set improved this time around. Yes, Christie wasn’t great in all her Roadblocks, but she managed, so that deserves kudos. -

That taxi option as a memory task— Brutal! -
I’m also quite glad to hear of the renewal! I’m glad that a Matt Barr led drama has finally made it to a second season. The fact that its ratings for a summer drama were the best this year surely didn’t hurt.
-
I’m pretty sure the show is contractually obligated to include Henry Ian Crusak in the credits as a regular, but to be fair he was seen in this episode.
-
The CW always starts its shows in the second week of October.

I gave you some feedback.

Actually that may have been inspired by the Five Star movement in Italy which led to their political chaos. But the dig into censorship of language was itself inspired. Love anything with Tovey in it, no matter what he’s doing onscreen. Also noticed that the music is by Murray Gold, who Russell T Davies brought to Doctor Who for its revival in 2005, and stayed for ten seasons/series.

What makes its successes surprising is the fact that it premiered so late in terms of the primetimers nominations and voting rounds that many might not have even heard about it.

I wonder how small that private wedding will be given the imminent funeral of Henry VIi, then the Queen Grandmother. i’d expect “Something” as new King Henry sets out to clean up the mess he inherited. -
Lobo is from the planet where both Seg and Adam landed separately in the first episode of the season. It’s also the home world of the civilization that created Brainiac.
