Change "Howard" to "Sheldon" and I'm right there with you.

I don't remember him being particularly obnoxious in that competition (which he eventually won, if I remember correctly). He did have a bit of a meltdown during one wall-climbing challenge, but that was only because he's deathly afraid of heights (he had the same issue during some of the dates on the Ukrainian Bachelor).

Small Talk: a.k.a. 'The Meet Market'
legaleagle53 replied to stealinghome's topic in Once Upon A Time
Not only is it mid-June (June 17, to be exact), but it's currently 103º Fahrenheit and partly cloudy where I am (Scottsdale, AZ). It's definitely going to be a scorcher for me this summer! -
Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage
legaleagle53 replied to Maverick's topic in Commercials
Turn in your Man Card. Men are competitive by nature, so we're always measuring and comparing our dicks to those of other men (and that's especially true when it comes to our man-toys, particularly our cars!). Or so the stereotype goes, anyway. The whole point of the commercial is that the guys are constantly competing against each other. That's why they don't carpool. -
Not true. The curse would have automatically broken upon Emma's death, which Regina and Rumpel both knew.
-
The problem with that saying is that it presupposes that the objects of your "revenge" even care that you're living, much less how you're living. Regina knows deep down that she could have had a far better life if she had taken her father's advice and given up any idea of revenge against Snow and her allies by casting the original Dark Curse, but that doesn't matter to her because it wouldn't have mattered to anyone else -- which is the entire point of getting revenge. It has to be done in a way that will actually matter to those against whom you're seeking vengeance.

Speaking of Cody -- button your damn shirt, dude. I don't want to see your undershirt peeping out any more than I would want to see Andi's bra showing through her blouse! Well, to be fair, Andi doesn't speak French, even though she took it in college -- which simply means that she hasn't kept it up over the years since college. Heck, I first took German and Russian in college, and I'm still struggling with both of them almost 35 years later (especially Russian) -- and I have kept them up over the years -- so I'll give her a pass on not having a native-quality pronunciation of "Marseilles."

It also makes sense when you remember that that's what she was told in "The Miller's Daughter" by Henry's father after But yes, Cora's experience would definitely have made her determined to keep Regina at all costs from repeating what Cora would have viewed as the same mistake that she herself almost made. Looking at it from that perspective, murdering Daniel in front of Regina made perfect sense. And yes, Regina, it would have happened eventually whether Snow had said anything or not.

Well, as we all know, a mime is a terrible thing to waste.

A Thread for All Seasons: OUaT Across All Realms
legaleagle53 replied to stealinghome's topic in Once Upon A Time
Cora was in the Enchanted Forest because Regina had expressly sent Hook there to assassinate her. He failed to do so because (unbeknownst to everybody then) Cora had long ago removed her own heart and stored it someplace else. Cora then decided to let Regina think that Hook had been successful in order to try to worm her way back into Regina's life. Because Cora knew about the Dark Curse and what it would do, she took Hook with her and cast the protection counterspell that mitigated the effects of the Dark Curse so that she and everyone under the magic dome would be frozen in time but retain their memories and identities. Once the curse was broken, Cora then plotted with Hook to get to Storybrooke where she knew Regina would welcome her help after being defeated by the breaking of the curse. -

I know, right? It's like when I was in Rome a few years ago and spotted no fewer than TWO McDonald's within walking distance from my hotel -- it just seemed so wrong on so many levels (but the Baci McFlurries, on the other hand, were to die for)! -

No, he's simply been conditioned to believe that aspirin is only good for preventing heart attacks nowadays because so many people (including yours truly) take it only for that express purpose. For aches and pains, we take Tylenol, Advil, or Aleve. -
So was Zelena. I mean, her response to Emma's statement that she wasn't an "amateur' -- she was the Savior? "My, someone certainly has an exaggerated opinion of herself?" After which she had Rumpel knock Emma squarely on her ass. Say what you will about Zelena, but she feared absolutely nobody. I'll bet she'd have even taken on Cora directly if she could have.

The Annual Primetime Emmys - General Discussion
legaleagle53 replied to susannot's topic in The Primetime Emmy Awards (Emmys)
If it's not on HBO, Cinemax, or Showtime, it doesn't exist as far as the nominators are concerned. They've had a permanent hard-on for cable programs for decades (and ironically, the ACE Awards once existed because the nominators tended to snub cable shows before the ACE Awards existed!). -

I just want to know who's going to be hosting. As long as it's not Ellen Fricking Degeneres, I'm good. -
Peter Pan Live (NBC)
legaleagle53 replied to TravisNelson76's topic in Specials, TV Movies & Other One-Offs
Traditionally, the role has always been played by a woman, but the producers have already said they're not going to follow that tradition this time. So Peter will be male both in name and in fact. -
S01.E04: My "Brother" William
legaleagle53 replied to Tara Ariano's topic in I Wanna Marry Harry [V]
That's historically been the nickname for Henrys throughout English history. Henry IV was known as "Harry Hotspur" in his youth, if I remember correctly, and Henry VIII was also known as "Prince Harry" before he succeeded to the throne and married Catherine of Aragon. Thus, if the real Prince Harry were ever to succeed to the throne, he'd be "Harry" no longer, but "His Majesty, King Henry IX." -
He's too old for Meryl Davis, too, but that didn't stop the good ship M&M from sailing anyway.

Happily Ever After: Relationships Are Hard
legaleagle53 replied to CatMack's topic in Once Upon A Time
To say nothing of the fact that most people (including Emma) probably had no idea that Regina and Robin were even dating. Three days wouldn't have been nearly enough time for anyone to believe or even suspect that anything was going on between them, especially since they'd all been too busy worrying about what Zelena was up to to pay attention to anything else. -
That's never stopped him before. Maks has been all over the map in terms of the kind of women he goes for, and he's dated some pretty young ones at times.
