  1. I really liked Barnes too. She had a good storyline and it would have been nice to see her character develop throughout the season(s).
  2. This new storyline is so dumb! This show wasn't too great to begin with but I stayed with it for Ronald and his cereal. Now he's barely even it in and not a box of cocoa puffs has seen in the last two episodes. I guess the bad guys from last week were just a one and done. The guy stuck to the deer antlers and his boyfriend Joe Exotic were way more entertaining than these "ranchers." This show should have been done after episode 9.
  3. I like the idea of having the tract homes and having the designers come in and make changes. I liked S2 better than S1 just for the mere fact that the So Cal homes in S1 had upgrades, finishes, and options that were available to any buyer and most of the designers used them as their own ideas. Leann was really the only one that thought outside the box and was original. As much as I disliked David and Tiffany's choice of colors and designs, they were this season's "Leann", IMO. They moved the kitchen, added the mud room, moved the door and added the en suite downstairs, etc. In the future, I would rather have the teams consist of designers, not flippers. As much as Alison brags about being a "designer", she is definitely not on the same level as Nate and Jeramiah, Leann, etc. She is a flipper (and not a good one at that.)
  4. Finale: D & T - I liked the idea of the extra bedroom and bath upstairs, but I don't know how much value it would add since the house already had 5 beds/3 baths. I agree with everything the judges said about the house. They shouldn't have designed it for themselves and they missed a lot of opportunities. M & A - A generator? Does the electricity go out that much? The ERV was a good idea. I knew they wouldn't win. I would say probably 3rd place after N & J coming in 2nd. N & J - I liked the idea of a home theater but it didn't make any sense IF the basement is going to be rented out. N & J are definitely designers. They are hired for a specific look so I agree with Ken, Anita and Jasmine when they commented that the house looks like it belongs in a magazine, but it really wasn't practical. B & M - Finally a home gym! I didn't like the turf - either laminate or gym matting would have looked a lot better. I don't think the powder room not being a full bath should have been a con since they had a bedroom with a full bath in the basement. I think most buyers would use the main floor room how it was staged - as an office. I knew they were going to win and they totally deserved it! Please don't bring Allison back for season 3. All 4 of the homes were listed for $635k. N & J's and M & A's are pending, but D & T's and B & M's were both were listed "for sale active" as of April 10, 2021 so I'm curious why the show posted that B & M's house sold immediately for full asking. I wonder if Anita and Ken are going to change some of D & T's designs if it doesn't sell after a certain amount of time. Does anyone know if the houses from season 1 sold? The only one I'm aware of that sold was Leanne's.
  5. I agree with everyone else about if the tickets were refunded, the money would go back to the buyer's credit card, not Darlene. But since this is TV, I'll hand wave it. I think it was pretty crappy of Ben to talk Darlene out of going to Hawaii and using the money towards something else. Molly wanted to go on vacation, realized she wasn't going to make and bought the tickets for Darlene and Ben. They should go to honor Molly's wish. They should have had Molly stick around for a few episodes before they killed her off. I like Jackie so much more when she's not acting like a total flake! The scene where she called out Becky on her lying and drinking was powerful! Where is DJ? I don't know why they ever brought him (and his daughter) back. They are barely in any episodes, if at all. They could have easily have him (and his family) living overseas, etc. No Mark this episode or the last one either.
  6. Basements: N & J - They knocked it out of the park!! Simple yet sophisticated. I actually like the basement better than anything they did upstairs. They deserved to win because they definitely added extra value to their house and it was gorgeous! D & T - NO NO NO on the blush color! Blush accents...yes OR blush walls...yes OR blush ping pong table...yes. NOT ALL OF THEM!! The metal "sculpture" was awful. The 6th bedroom could have easily been staged so I don't understand why it wasn't. NO NO NO on the deer head! B & M - The bowling alley was totally cool, but it doesn't add any value and not everyone is going to think it's awesome. They should have added a small kitchenette though - just big enough for a small fridge and a few cabinets for snacks, etc. The MIL suite was nice and followed the same design as upstairs. It would be easy to change out if a family wanted to do something different with the space. M & A - Basic finished basement. Game room - check, bar - check, extra room with barn doors - check. Allison never has any original ideas. She has designed this house with so much wasted space. Bourbon room/flex space on the main floor, office/flex space in the basement, etc. When Mike pointed out the large window in the future bedroom, Allison agreed and commented how it was possible because of the "light and vent." I wish Mike would have mentioned it being an egress window. She probably doesn't even know what that means. The lamp was kind of cool, but I'm disappointed that he didn't use the pipe from the heavy metal challenge for curtain rods. I'm surprised none of the teams (except N & J since they were going for a rental space) didn't have a designated room for a gym and/or a child's playroom. Exteriors: N & J - loved the screened in porch! I liked that the entire exterior of the house was done with brick and I loved the black trim, but I didn't like the shutters. The huge white planters with the trees and bushes were so ugly - why didn't they just plant them in the ground? The stone steps from the front to back was a great idea; however, the back deck was a disappointment. I'm assuming they did nothing with the backyard since it was never shown. What a let down. I didn't think they deserved to win. M & A - I liked the retaining wall, but the putting green was stupid! And that huge golf ball "sculpture" will be the first thing that ends up in the trash when the homeowners move in. I like the idea of an outdoor kitchen but they didn't really have one. It looked more like an oversized grill. Plus, to have it on the basement level is not practical, especially since they have to walk up and down INSIDE the house. The front exterior looked like any other model tract home. The plants and paint/siding colors were bland and underwhelming. D & T - I liked their Tudor style exterior. I liked their front yard, but it was super disappointing that NOTHING was done in the backyard except an outdoor couch on the deck. Since they had a lake view, that should have given them all the more reason to make the backyard awesome! B & M - I think they should have won. I can't believe they were the only team that installed stairs! At least when they have to go down to their outdoor kitchen, they have a set of stairs. The front yard was fine. The pergola was cool and I'm surprised at the judge's reactions to it. They had a nice outdoor kitchen, but I though the fire pit was kind of "messy". All in all, I'm disappointed with everyone's backyards. Considering these homes are mostly catered to families, I'm even more disappointed that none of the teams did any type of play area. No place for a swing set or sandbox, trampoline, etc. I hated that Alison told Nate and Jeramiah that D & T and B & M were no threat to her because D & T's house was just "crazy" and B & M were basically idiots by putting a bedroom on the first floor with no en suite. B & M had it staged as an office. I would much rather have a main floor office with a window (that could easily be a bedroom or both) rather than a windowless office in the basement...ahem Allison - or as she referred to it "Flex Space". On a super vain note, I don't know who the judges were (I've never heard of or seen Inside Out), but they were super good looking!
  7. Plenty of motels (Best Westerns, Motel 6, Days Inn, etc) in the Midwest have indoor pools.
  8. I'm hate watching this show at this point. The Jackie/Neville plot was lame. Dan jeopardizing his own health to "take care" of Louise was so stupid. Yes, Louise tested positive, but she specifically said her only symptoms were loss of smell and being tired. As for the Darlene situation, I don't blame her for needing a break. However, why is everything piled on her? The show does the same thing with Dan and money. Dan is the only one that can pay the mortgage, etc even though there are 4 other working adults that live there. Back to Darlene, no one else can help Mark with his homework? According to the show, I guess not, but he can't use Google? Besides Darlene, there are 4 other capable adults living in the house. Why can't one of them go grocery shopping? Also, if everyone is hanging out at the Lunch Box, why can't Darlene just work at home where she would be alone.
  9. I didn't care for the color challenge especially since everyone had already purchased tiles and wallpaper, etc. I'm glad no one took it seriously. D & T - I liked the beams but that busy, ugly wallpaper definitely distracted from them. I liked the idea of a sitting area, but it looked like wasted space with a lot of stuff crammed in it. Their closet was a huge disappointment! I liked the black subway tile, but they should have used it on all the walls. They could have totally added a makeup vanity or a linen cabinet in that nook next to the shower instead of filling it with that huge plant. N & J - I didn't care for the black and white flooring in the bathroom that was also used downstairs in their sitting room. Their closet reminded me of the storage shelves I have out in my garage. I didn't like the wall drapes, but I liked that they hid the red color behind them! The bedroom was meh, but the bathroom did look like it belonged in a magazine. I loved their work on their own show (By Design) so I've been disappointed in their rooms thus far. M & A - It drives me crazy that Allison constantly says "I" and "me" when talking about THEIR house! I think the reclaimed wood would have looked better if it was just on the wall OR just on the ceiling, but it was too much on both. I did love the bathroom tile! The rest of the bathroom was typical Allison. I liked the closet and the "his" closet but not so much for them to win. They didn't deserve to win at all especially when Egypt said it was only because of the two closets. I wish they would have shown how small the laundry room is now. B & M - Their bedroom looked like a luxury hotel room. Their closet was awesome and I loved that they connected it to the laundry room. I loved their bathroom, but I wish they would have left the window in the shower and added additional showerheads to the wall. They had every right to be pissed! They were definitely robbed!! However, I think they will win it all in the end and they deserve to. IMO, their designs have added more value so far and they cater to way more buyers.
  10. I'm in the minority here...I thought this was one of the worst episodes!! The entire Lowell plot was so ridiculous and totally not funny! What a waste of Dave Foley! Also, Jonah never looked at Amy's social media since they broke up? Really? Plus, there was no Marcus or Justine in this episode! The parts I did like were Sandra calling out Jonah with his fake profile. And I love that Cheyenne was not a total ditz like usual. She got over Lowell's stupid demands pretty quickly and was the only one that seemed to notice/care when he mentioned the closing of the Cloud 9 stores.
  11. The Mother in Law suite was already there. It was originally presented as a flex space. N & J used it a living area, M & A used it as a "bourbon room" and the other couple staged it as an office/spare bedroom. If I remember correctly, T & D closed off the huge entry and then moved it over. I believe they took a bit of space from both the powder room and the flex space so they could add new entrances to each of those room. As for the mudroom, that space was taken from the oversized living room. I don't think the mudroom was as big as it looked on TV. Remember, the camera adds 10 pounds! 🙂
  12. N & J - their designs are so taste specific. They don't really add value to a home, they add design. I wasn't impressed with their front room. It looked like a converted porch with way too much stuff. On the flip side, their living room was very underwhelming with the exception of the French doors and fireplace. I was surprised nothing was done with the spindles. B & M - I wish they would have done something more with every room. The office and powder room looked like something you'd see in every model home. I liked the fireplace, ceiling and French doors in their living room, but again, it just seemed to be missing originality or a "wow" factor. A & M - I liked that they changed the stair spindles. I wish Mike would have put his foot down about the dark green bookcases matching the dark green walls. The room was too dark and looked twice as small. And no one wants a "bourbon room." It would have looked better if it was staged as an office. I liked their powder room and their living room sans the furniture. D & T - Just like Nate and Jeramiah, their designs are way too buyer specific. The peacock wall paper was so ugly! I liked the MIL suite and I loved that they added the mud room! I didn't care for the living room, decor or furniture. But, they definitely deserved to win. They did add the most value because of the added bedroom, 3/4 bath and mudroom. Thankfully, the ugliest parts can be changed with paint.
  13. I liked all of them, but I liked the Florida couple's kitchen the best. It was elegant, family friendly and the pantry cabinets were a nice touch. IMO, their only con was their design was unoriginal and "safe". I would expect to see it in a high end home. I loved that the Design Star team flipped the spaces and added the window in the dining room. I didn't care for the green cabinetry or the shelves blocking the windows. I think the lack of upper cabinets and all the crap on the open shelves made the walls looks too busy and distracted from the backsplash. I love Nate and Jeramiah as people, but I think their designs are a bit out of touch with reality. The island top was beautiful, but I can totally see a child hitting their on head on those custom corners. The open shelving was ugly and I didn't care for the lighting attached to them. I felt like they could have made better use of the area and it wasn't practical as Tarek had pointed out. And finally, Allison...I did like the brick archway, but that was about it. I think it felt out of place because it didn't tie into the rest of the room. Also, the ceiling beams closed in the space. The dining room looked completely forgotten and looked like they tried to throw something together at the last minute. I'm so glad Mike insisted on not painting the brick.
  14. I totally cracked up when Dina said the only reason people want a receipt is "to spit out their gum or for a murder alibi." I'm going to miss this show!
  15. My theory is Maddie and Buck's biological parents were killed - either in an accident or domestic violence situation. The latter would may be why Maddie was attracted to an abuser herself, etc. I think after their parents died, relatives (who never wanted children) took them in and raised them as their own. Buck was obviously too young to remember. Since Maddie is going to tell Chimney this huge secret, maybe he could return the favor by telling her how he got his nickname.
  16. I liked the first two seasons better. I'm not a fan of Kreese so I was disappointed so much of this season revolved around him. I'm glad Allie made an appearance and there was no love triangle situation. The lack of the parents (besides the LaRusso's, Carmen and Johnny) is very frustrating. None of these other kids' parents show up at the dojo pissed off at Kreese when their kid gets their arm broken or beat up? I found it super lame that these teens basically break into the LaRusso's house and not one kid has the sense to run and call the cops? Not that they would show up anyway since they basically don't exist in this show. And then Robbie gets knocked out cold and everyone just lets him lie there while they continue to fight. It never occurs to Johnny, Kreese or Daniel to call for an ambulance? My biggest question of this season is: Where does Tori have the time and energy to show up to all these fights? She supposedly works two jobs, goes to school, goes to karate, takes care of her mom and brother...yet, she's got enough free time to attend EVERY fight and go to the zoo and steal a snake.
  17. I really hate the character of Harris! I would think after being raised in this family living paycheck to paycheck for the last 18+ years, Harris would have realized she wasn't going to have anything handed to her without working for it. She would have to get a job, pay for her own college education and help out when she became an adult. I would have told her to pack her bags for disrespecting her grandfather who owes her nothing financially! He took Harris, Mark and Darlene in for free up until recently. If it wasn't for him, they would be out on the streets. What really frustrates me with Darlene's kids - mostly Harris - is how they blame Darlene and/or the Connors for not being financially stable. What about David? I know he's not in the show, but a throw away line once in a while about how he's a deadbeat, etc would at least acknowledge the fact that he doesn't, and never has helped out all these years.
  18. I wish he would have talked with his real Australian accent and have Sylvie make fun of it for being "the worst" she ever heard.
  19. Former Las Vegan here. I agree that her options are pretty limited due to the ages of the homes and/or HOA's, plus she'll be competing with new construction. Henderson (not Green Valley), off of Sahara (near the Lakes) and maybe some areas on the outskirts (Blue Diamond, etc) are a few that I can think of right now. She might have to rethink her clientele as well. I can't imagine that there is a high demand for luxury houses considering LV has been one of the hardest hit from Covid-19. This was on People.com today: https://people.com/home/windy-city-rehabs-alison-victorias-former-client-moves-to-have-all-her-assets-frozen-amid-lawsuit/
  20. I love this show so much!! My favorite parts of this episode were the Jazzagals singing "The Best" and David's wedding attire. I got a bit teary eyed when David was walking down the aisle and mouthed "Thank You." to his dad and Johnny smiled and nodded. Knowing that was a real life moment between Eugene and Dan was everything!
  21. After reading this article, she is definitely throwing him under the bus. Even if he's guilty of doing what she claims and she was truly oblivious to what he was doing, that just shows what an awful business woman she is. However, I pretty sure she knew exactly what was going on and is pissed SHE got caught! https://people.com/home/windy-city-rehab-premiere-why-hgtv-allison-victoria-split-lawsuit-stop-work-order/
  22. I thought the ending was good except I didn't like that nothing happened to Nate regarding him killing DA Miller. But then again, I hated that nothing happened to him the entire run of the show. I was surprised that both Bonnie and Frank died, but I liked that they each had their "moment" of someone distraught over them being shot. Bonnie with Frank and then Annalise with Bonnie. Since we were under severe weather, my local news kept cutting in with thunderstorm updates so I have a couple of questions: What was on the flash drive that Frank got and what was the deal that Nate talked about on the stand? Was it the $20million or something more? I agree with others about the bad makeup. Eve should have been dead or at least looked way older. Laurel looked like she was dressed up for Halloween. Connor, Oliver and Annalise all looked realistic. I'm curious though why Teagan wasn't at the funeral.
  23. Agree! She was awful! She was more concerned about the dog being comfortable than the 2 boys. I did think it was funny that the boys gave the dog affection and the step mom got eye rolls. I didn't care for the stairs being outside in the 3 story walk up.
  24. I've watched a couple of episodes and I'm not feeling it especially Pauley's character. I think if she didn't exist, the show would be much better. Plus, she always looks like she just climbed out of a dumpster - her hair always looks so greasy and her clothes are awful. The rest of the cast is good. I like Javier and his assistant.
